The chicken was so salty it burned more than the spice. Crazy thick breading that was not crisp but hard. The rice with pork belly was utterly flavorless. The waiter said barely 3 words to us. Easily top 5 worst dining experiences I had and it was really expensive for the portion and quality. Nothing fresh, nothing flavorful. Insult to Korean food.

In all my life from ordering from Bon Chon I have never received my chicken raw & soggy its like they put the chicken in the mircowave & warmed it up this is a Korean style chicken its suppose to be fried hard crispy & it doesn’t even look fried. i took a small bite i pray to god i dont get sick . Omg please never order from this location EVER !!!

Google
Very tasty fried chicken. This location feels like a former pizza joint that got a glow-up and added table service, but it doesn't feel like a legit sit-down restaurant. Good enough for family or friends, but I wouldn't take a date there. There is a full bar. Service was prompt.

Google
Super family friendly. We want to get it try after we eaten at other locations, got large half & half, fried rice, fries, and edamame. So the chicken was crisp outside and juicy inside, the sauce tasted good. Will definitely take out for party next time.

Ordered via Doordash while staying in a nearby town. So, SO good.. we had a big order (Bulgogi, Chicken Katsu, seasoned fries, & potstickers). Everything was great. Will definitely order again soon!

Google
Korean food lover world I love Chinese food, but my partner loves Korean. So I had to try it. Everything fried was good. But I was disappointed by dry chicken katsu experience. I won’t go here again. Also the sauce over the wings seemed american. Go to a much traditional Korean restaurant, this is bit commercialized. Hope this review helpful to you, when in doubt.

Google
Ordered delivery (NOT curbside) ...and waited. And waited. An hour later/unrelated, I went downstairs to check the mail and found the food bag left on my doorstep. (THAT IS utterly DISGUSTING. Food on the ground where our feet go? Food left in the sun? It's like they want us to have rats and food poisoning.) Terrible value for my near $30 lunch order with forced tipping. Then, there was the food: generic, greasy fries, basic chicken tenders, and a tiny, sun-kissed, side of coleslaw that was obscenely small even for $3. (A tablespoon and a half of warm coleslaw literally filled less than a third of the tiny container.) Complete rip-off, feeling kind of woozy now and regretting eating any of it, but I was hungry...

Google
Waltham is the worst BonChon location ever! I love Bonchon’s food so figured to give this site a go since it’s closer than Allston and Lowell. The first time we ordered, I was unimpressed. My husband and I ordered from here a second time today thinking the first time was a fluke. As the saying goes “fool me twice, shame on me! The chicken wings were gigantic, soggy, and flavorless the first go around. Second go around was WORSE. I spit out one of the wings mid-bite because it was inedible. $54 for awful wings is NOT IT. This branch needs to be shut down for the over-priced garbage they’re serving to customers.

Yelp
The last time I tried this place was when it first opened. I was most critical about the size of their wings. Fast forward a few years later. I've tried them twice in the past 2 weeks and the wings are normal sized now. Both times, I got take out. Wings were soy garlic and ngang yeam (I'm sure I misspelled that one). The flavor is good, wings are normal sized (finally) and it was enjoyable. The wings comes with option of daikon or cole slaw. Pricing is similar to BBQ Chicken, but this place offers the slaw option. I've updated my score to 4 stars....more like 3.75 but I'll lean towards 4. The front desk is super slow. I paid with cash and it genuinely looks like a chore for them to punch it in and get me change.

Yelp
I'm a hifalutin wings and Asian food snob and used to think Bonchon was just okay, but the wings and legs really impressed me today. Wings: Very crisp, still light, and the plump chicken flavor and tenderness came through. Kinda juicy. Legs: Not as crisp, but crisp, and the plump chicken flavor and tenderness came through even more. Exceptionally juicy. And a higher quality leg than you typically see. Boneless: Extra bumpy crunch, not as thin as the wings and legs, and noticeably drier than the wings and legs. Good flavor. Pork Belly Bao: Not bad; crisp, kinda tasty, but small size of protein got lost in the bao bun, so not sure if $5 per is a good value. Not sure if mayoey generic American coleslaw is a fitting condiment, but they're a lot more successful than I am. Onion Rings: Nothing Korean about them, although maybe they're not trying to be. Either way, seemed like standard issue industrial strength frozen. Sauces: Well done. The soy garlic not too dominant in either direction. The Korean original sort of bbq and sort of chili. The hot and spicy was indeed hot and spicy. But not to be lost: VERY good bone-in chicken. And while some have said they're a little pricey, the large size legs and wings combo worked out to about $1.49 per wing piece and $2.49 per leg, which for good size pieces and in today's economy strikes me as a good deal. Modern space, comfortable seating, frequent water refills. If I'm only looking wings and kegs, a solid 4.

Yelp
Have ordered from here multiple times with colleagues. Perfectly cooked chicken, crispy on the outside, with soft chicken meat inside. Will be ordering more!

Yelp
Best Chicken Wings, Hands Down, Crisp, Large, Spicy, Delicious. My sauce is the spicy garlic, but the soy version is good as well. Lunch special was 5 wings for 5 Bucks, ordered the Radish cubes as a side (need to cool the heat) Excellent stop. Chef came out, was very hospitable.

Mark B.

Yelp
Wings were crispy and spicy and on the smaller size, not much to rave about. $15+ for fried rice with teeny bits of bulgogi is a bit much. At least it was tasty. 10 wings+ 2 beers + bulgogi fried rice=$71.

Brandon N.

Yelp
Staff were patient and accommodating. Food wasn't bad. Place was clean. I had the sliders and the tenders. Nothing really stood out as wow but nothing stood out as terrible. I would recommend but wouldn't be at the top of my list.

Dana S.

Yelp
So let me start by saying I love Bonchon. I really do. We normally go to the one in Lowell. It's a little bit closer to us, but we wanted to try the location in Waltham for a change. Because it was newer. This location? It just isn't... Right. We got there on a Saturday at like 6 o'clock. You know, normal dinner time on a Saturday night? I'll be at a bit early. There was no one else in the restaurant. I saw three bags ready for takeout, and during our meal, it looks like people order more at for takeout or food delivery than actually eating in this restaurant. Their presentation was better than the other bunch on we go to. But that's where it ends. It looks like it used to maybe be a sub shop. The decorations on the wall Are kitschy , and the whole place just looked like it really needed a good cleaning. The waitress was very nice, but I think there was even a language barrier there. Or she just didn't care what we were saying. You know how you joke a little with the waitress when they come by? We tried. She stared at us blankly. She didn't get her order correct as well. We had asked for half-and-half flavors on our potstickers. And she brought us the wrong flavors. Still good, because it's a Bonchon, but not what we asked for. We also didn't get any pickled radish with our meal what you do get it lol. Nothing other than just the wings. I thought that was a little odd. I just don't think this one is going to last. Someone else commented in a previous review that it's like a amped up KFC. This location was just KFC with different flavors.

Ashley M.

Yelp
The staff was friendly in helping me decide what to eat. The food was delicious. The beef bulgogi was savory and slightly sweet. I loved the mushroom and sautéed onion. I'll be going back to try more items on their menu. I really enjoyed my late dinner there.

David K.

Yelp
The chicken wings are extra crispy and so good, I would recommend them! The price is a little pricey but the wings are worth it

Neda S.

Yelp
Looking for crunchy fried chicken? This is the best. Casual & comfortable place. Service was very slow, understaffed- everyone waiting: only one person serving five tables... host seemed to be working in the kitchen. Actual menu prices differ from the online Yelp menu.

Don C.

Yelp
Fried chicken is my favorite food on the planet, and I've eaten a zillion variations. Korean fried chicken has been my top choice for a while now. I routinely get filled up in Koreatown in Manhattan because it's a few blocks from my workplace. So I was really pleasantly surprised to see a Korean restaurant in Waltham, MA. We were on a road trip. After a long day of driving and walking around in the cold, we sat down and ordered our favorite Korean comfort foods: a 10-piece drums (spicy and garlic), japchae, and tteokbokki. Oh, and a nice Korean beer. We knew it was way too much food for two people, but we wanted leftovers for the next day. As soon as the food arrived, we were in heaven. The chicken was super crispy, juicy, and dripping with flavor. The japchae with ribeye was scrumptious. The tteokbokki was chewy and delicious. We especially loved the fried packets of glass noodles. We ate about half the meal, asked for some to-go boxes, and sat back and relaxed. The service was excellent. There were a couple of people tending to about six tables of diners. They were super efficient, whizzing around the dining room and taking care of everyone. Our server and the host were very courteous and fast. The next day, we ate our leftovers at a rest stop in the middle of a driving rain. It didn't matter that the food was cold. It was still amazing. I plan to check out the Bonchon in Manhattan now. I'm hooked!

Tramy T.

Yelp
Food was okay. The spicy wings aren't as great as other bonchon locations (Lowell/Boston). The spicy wings here taste like a ton of gochujang tossed with oil. They also give very little coleslaw compared to other locations. I asked for an additional coleslaw and it was $4 for 4 regular bites. I order spicy but the soy garlic came out. Then was told that if I wait 9 minutes then my spicy would be out. By that time I ate all my coleslaw... sad. I didn't realize the mistake meant no coleslaw with my spicy wings. The spicy ended up being too spicy, I couldn't eat it. Literally a ton of gochujang tossed in with wings and oil. The service was alright. However the ambiance here is the best out of all the bonchon I've been to. Do not recommend this location, the Boston one is very delicious, the Lowell is pretty good as there's a huge parking lot.

Kelley C.

Yelp
Ordered through their website on a week night and was severely disappointed. Ordered at 6pm, food didn't arrive until 7:20pm even though we're 4 miles away. It also arrived cold which was unfortunate. For the price, the amount of chicken that you actually get is disappointing. While I can appreciate the crunch and even though it was cold, it did still have the crunch. Unfortunately though, there's not a lot of chicken in each piece as it's 70% breading. The pork buns were super disappointing. The buns were soggy and falling apart. On top of that each one had one small piece of pork in each, so half of the bites didn't include the pork. I think the only thing I was happy with, because it was also easier to reheat, was the beef bulgolgi. It had good flavor for sure.

Chrissy L.

Yelp
Not sure why this place has such low ratings. We ate there with friends on a Sunday afternoon for lunch and everything was tasty. The great thing about this place is it has something for everyone - worked especially well for us because we had picky kids in our group. Want non spicy fried chicken? Check. Spicy fried chicken? Check. Bibimbap? Bulgogi? Plain udon noodle soup with nothing on it? All check. We'll definitely be back especially with young kids or a bigger group (we had 9 and it was not a problem). Afterwards, walk to Kungfutea to get boba or there's actually a new one just next door.

Keiddy C.

Yelp
Good price for a lot of food! The workers were pleasant and the restaurant was very pretty and spacious and they were playing good music. The tteokbokki was REALLY spicy but SO delicious and the french fries were crispy and fresh. The soy garlic chicken was also crispy and juicy. It was my first time at this location specifically but I would definitely ome back!

Kenneth F.

Yelp
Is basically a leveled up KFC; higher prices for higher quality chicken. Flavor comes from glazed sauce, not just salt/pepper, and the skin is ridiculously crispy. Fries and onion rings are very crispy too but more salt-reliant. Dine-in is nothing flashy with plain walls and simple service, though the food quality is noticeably better than takeout. Loses a star because locations closer to Boston are more generous with the glaze and size of pieces.

Hanna G.

Yelp
Admittedly I haven't gone to the other Bonchon locations around Boston, but I haven't had any bad experiences dining in before the pandemic or ordering takeout. We love treating ourselves to the food here and my SO can't get enough of the salmon avocado balls. Food here is on the pricier side but I've usually had leftovers depending on the variable size of the chicken for the combo drumstick and wings. Love the spicy and the sweet sauce. The boneless wings however are super small so if I wasn't sharing with my SO who hates bones I would pass on them. That's the main con I'd say is that you are never sure what you will get in terms of the sizes since they go by the number of pieces. We've also had the seasoned zucchini fries, bulgogi tacos, chicken sliders, and shrimp shumai (in descending order of preference).

Sean D.

Yelp
Very overpriced and mediocre Bulgogi for a small and tasteless portion. Will not be returning

Howie H.

Yelp
So i seriously had reservations about coming to THIS establishment. The recent reviews prior to my visit seemed to have a common theme regarding health issues. I was super skeptical taking my coworkers here, especially when they never had korean fried chicken wings before. i didn't want to scar them for life. on the day of, we came in, i ordered some wings and japchae for the table. while ordering we all couldn't help but notice a live inspection was happening. an inspector walked through the kitchen, chatted with what appeared to be the manager, and walked through the dining area. everyone joke about losing weight from getting food poisoning. the food came out. everything was on point. wings were crispy as they should. the japchae was also as it should be. the consistency of the noodles was on point, not soggy, not too chewy. the little sides were all as they should be. I had a great experience at THIS location and look forward to many more with the same quality as i did the first time. There's no parking lot and the wings can take some time if they are busy, plan ahead.

Ellen Y.

Yelp
I had no idea this location existed until I started googling, but it is right in the heart of downtown Waltham. Street parking, free after 6pm. It's nothing compared to the Allston location. Completely empty on a Saturday night. They had one waiter who seemed like he was really new, but he was really really nice. However, I don't feel like he knew the menu. Hesitated with every question. Spicy is SPICY. don't misjudge the one spice sign. Our table can handle spice, but we were dying. As always, come for the fried chicken. Everything else is optional. The fried chicken is supposed to come with a side, but we never got it. Go to a different location if you're feeling bonchon.

Eric Z.

Yelp
Service is below average, food are worst. Regret to walk in for dinner. Rather ordering from KFC

Joe Z.

Yelp
I'm revising my previous 5-star review based on my last visit. Nothing has changed with respect to the food quality, taste, or service. They are still quite good. I'll preface my update by saying that prices are increasing everywhere but I was surprised that a lunch for 2 people (with no alcohol) was $70 with tip. For chicken wings (smallest amount) and a couple of apps? Everything was very good, as usual but the value is way off compared to others. For example, a sushi lunch for 2 at one of my favorite places was more than $10 less. For sushi! I know that supply chain issues and other problems are driving costs up, but when sushi is less than fried chicken I think we have to examine our priorities. Sorry Bonchon, I really do like your food but how can I pay more for your food when there's such a disparity?

Areeba Z.

Yelp
I'm a sucker for Bibimbap. I have not tried other branches in the Boston area, but I hear that they have amazing spicy wings. I got the Bibimbap with bulgogi. It came with white rice, vegetables and bibimbap sauce. The meal was decent, but not great.

Meredith C.

Yelp
I can't believe the negative reviews; actually, I can, and here's why: Most of those reviewers were complaining about the fried chicken being soggy when they ordered it as takeout. Sorry, are you new to chicken? You have to eat it as soon as it comes out of the fryer or it will steam over in the takeout box. Duh. That's like ordering ice cream as takeout and getting mad that it melted on the way to your house. The signature fried chicken was absolutely amazing - just like my korean-and-not-at-all-white-mamaw used to make. The Japchae was also delicious - like it came straight from the Japchae farm. The pork buns were reminiscent of my last trip to Gwangju, the pork bun capital of Korea. Each bite was immaculate - the soy garlic sauce is interlaced between cucumbers, pork, and katsu sauce. All of this comes to a crescendo with that crucial bite of everyone's favorite korean accoutrement - coleslaw. Don't let the sterile decor and sad, prison-style seating fool you. This place is a gem. Can't wait to visit again.

Rachel S.

Yelp
Ordered takeaway from here for the first time. Ordered through Grub Hub. We ordered the japchae, seasoned fries, and a small order of spicy boneless wings. Total came out around $40. What's Hot - Flavor. The beef in my japchae was seasoned pretty well. The spicy sauce for the wings are definitely spicy and have a good kick. Hubby and I have a good tolerance for spicy foods, so trust me when I say their spicy sauce is legitimately spicy. Their seasoned fries are pretty good and adequately flavored and seasoned. - Menu variety. There's something for everyone, including vegetarians, which is helpful. They appear to have a good variety of Korean food, as well, such as japchae, bibimbap, tteokbokki, and bulgogi. Keep in mind that some of their options aren't strictly Korean food, such as shumai and udon. Oh well... - Portions. The seasoned fries were scooped up and filled up a brown sandwich paper bag. Pretty good amount. The boneless wings were a pretty decent size, as well. Not the tiny size pieces that other customers have received in their orders. However, it does sound like it's a hit or miss on the size of wings you receive. What's Not - Price. Their website lists the japchae as $14.95. Grub Hub and Uber Eats list it as $15.95. There was a time when I saw it listed as $13.95 on Uber Eats, as well. That there is such a discrepancy in price is misleading and not helpful. It's not honest and not consumer friendly. - Portions. My japchae was in a container that was the size of my palm. The portion was not a decent size portion at all. There are a few vegetables in the japchae, like bell peppers, mushrooms, carrots, onions and I think I had some pieces of spinach. There is beef in there, as well. However, the size of the portions was definitely not value for money. The japchae alone was not filling. - Quality. We ordered the spicy flavor for the boneless chicken wings. Only the wings on the top layer of our takeout container were covered in the spicy sauce. The wings on the bottom of the container were plain and had no sauce at all. Weird. How hard is it to toss all the wings in the sauce? This small detail leads me to believe their operations are haphazard. $16 for 12 boneless wings that aren't all covered in a single sauce shows lack of attention. - Takeaway containers. The seasoned fries were scooped up and put in a brown paper sandwich bag, which means the paper bag became oily from the fries. The structure of the bag becomes weak from the grease and not a good container. It would've been better to put it in another container. Again, lack of attention to detail. Final Answer Might be willing to come back again, but definitely not a first choice. The pros do not outweigh the cons.

Yelp
An update to my previous review: it's been 9 months and I went ahead and filled out the online form to be contacted. I still have yet to hear anything from them. Original review: Used to love this Bonchon and would visit it every so often with my girlfriend to have an easy quick dinner. We went once during a storm as they were one of the only places open and a familiar face. When we went we were the only patrons but there was a rat inside the dining room. When we alerted the staff they halfheartedly searched for it before giving up. We saw it again, told them again, they looked a little harder, but gave up not even caring enough to move a chair to check. I'm very disappointed, we used to love to going here but haven't been back since. We walk past this location daily and want to go back but cannot bring ourselves to. We are moving from the Waltham area to Brighton, and are hesitant to try the Allston-Brighton location due to this experience.

Alison K.

Yelp
We ordered the medium boneless chicken (half spicy, half soy garlic), japchae, and potstickers (half spicy, half soy garlic). While everything tasted okay, the portions were pretty small for the price. We waited 40 minutes for chicken that came out looking basically like Tyson frozen chicken nuggets, very small pieces with barely any sauce. We came during the soft opening, so I just hope they will take this time to straighten out any kinks in their system and improve upon their food before the grand opening. I don't mean to be completely negative, but because I've tried another location of Bonchon, I know that it can be better. Edit: other friends have tried it after I did and agreed, even after the grand opening, that the food is not as good as other locations. However, they say the service has improved.

Parag K.

Yelp
Absolutely loved the fired chicken. The spicy version is really awesome. But the Katsu Chicken was burnt to a crisp. We have 2 orders of the Katsu Chicken and they were unedable and deserved to be thrown in the garbage.

Francisca G.

Yelp
Fantastic food and super quick and friendly service . Friend and I almost couldn't finish our order , but you know how it goes it just tastes so good ... one .. more ...bite ... and then you can't hardly move lol . Delicious !

Samuel L.

Yelp
Amazing food excellent service. clean establishment. fast delivery. Great music. plenty of baby Keem

Monica T.

Yelp
Every time I order from Bon Chon @ Waltham, it's bad. However, because I love the other locations, I keep telling myself to give them a second chance. It's like abusive relationship. I ordered close to $240 worth of food for a company lunch, and the quality was not like the other locations. I'm not sure if the franchise standards vary based on independent ownership, but I expected bonchon chicken. Instead I got Tyson's Microwavable Chicken Nuggets with some extra salty sauce on top. On top of it all, the fried rice wasn't even properly made, there were clumps of whole white rice. Disappointing to order from. Update: We called to notify BonChon that we were not happy with our order, and they pushed the blame on HQ. Again, not sure how that's the case since franchises usually have standards to maintain the brand and consistency is clearly an issue here. Regardless, they clearly do not want to fix the problem. ***Find a better place for crispy fried chicken - I suggest Pho 1 Waltham, which is right down the street (garlic/ crazy wings are a GREAT substitute in terms of quality and cost). ***

Glen G.

Yelp
Food was good. Chicken was done properly. Enjoyed the fried pickles and seasoned zucchini. The udon was ok. It would have been nice if there were more options.

Haiyin T.

Yelp
If you're looking for quality korean fried chicken then look no more... this is hands down the best Bonchon in the Boston area. They recently changed management so there seems to be new things coming out. I would highly recommend the pork buns, seasoned French fries (get the spicy mayo with this), and of course the fried chicken. They came out with a new Thai Chili flavor that's really good too. Great place to hang out with drink with friends on a weekend.

J S.

Yelp
A couple of years after my original 1-star review, and I thought I'd give these guys another chance. Several recent reviews mention they they have new managment, so... Yes, DRAMATICALLY improved KFC compared to two years ago! Still not quite as crispy as I remember from other Bonchons (admittedly I haven't been to any in several years), but certainly worth visiting. I'll give it a few more shots before making up my mind. I had the garlic-soy and the spicy, and the latter was more in line with the spice level I was expecting from other locations, unlike 2 years ago.

Lauren M.

Yelp
This is by far the WORST Bonchon I have eaten from. Ive been to about 5-6 between Boston and NJ. Now the chicken I ordered was the 12piece strips, I receive what looked like popcorn chicken and they looked like theyd been under a heater all day (for a 5-6pm dinner order). And to comment on other 4-5star posts... It wasnt soggy and yes i know what chicken is like. The tteokbokki was way spicier than it should have been, its like they just dumped the whole bottle into the mix. Having had this at the Lowell location, it was by far a much better mix. I can handle spice but this was like having the HOT chicken wings, you need some milk. Cole slaw which is one of my fav parts, I cant even grade that an A. I would have ordered from Lowell but its not an option for me as its a tiny bit too far. Lowell is BY FAR the best Bonchon Ive had out of all of them, even when getting delivery. DO NOT eat at this Waltham location or you will be severely disappointed. They should really visit the Lowell location for some training. Dont even understand the 4-5star ratings on this place, must have never had GOOD Bonchon to compare to....Ive ordered from here more than once to see if it would get better, and it did not.

Yelp
Great job on trying to remove negative feedback again and again. You think you really can remove my comment by contacting Yelp team? Instead of focusing on removing negative feedback, how about correcting your attitude and horrible food quality. If you really don't want negative review. Do something good. In addition, this helps me find out Yelp's removing algorithm. Some crucial strings will be detected and tagged as "removing target", so I will remove those strings from this review. This time I tried the take out order which proves the truth. Comparing to Bonchon in Allston area, the wings are horrible. Not worth trying and pricey. In addition, the inside of the store was a mess. There were no service. Prepare to fight for food. Finger size wings, raw rice dishes. Ordered combo, came only with wings. Asked the server to fix these, the server held a fierce attitude. If you think next step is to ask the manager, you will find the manager is way worse. The manager's attitude is exact the attitude to pick a fight. This place should be named as Bonchon - MMA. Message from me: Avoid this place, don't insult yourself.

Yelp
Super super super bad food and worse service. Only 2 servers on busy Sunday night. We only got 2 cups of water after being seated for 20 mins.(We have 3 people) We ordered four dishes, and two of them(fried rice and Bibimbap)are almost raw. Other customers already complained about it, and they still serves the raw rice to us. They took them away after our complaint without saying anything, not giving any solutions to this promblem, even a sorry. We also ordered a combo half and half, but only got wings. (This is not the first time. many of my friedns experienced this: the restaurant sometimes use cheaper wings for combo order). The manager reluctantly changed to combo. We said"please at least say sorry to us". She said, "Well! Sorry! Enjoy", with a disrespectful smile and walked right away without even looking at us. In the end, we tried to give feedback about these problems at the front desk. A server came to us saying stop wasting their time. Also, he put a dish we didn't order on the check. I was super angry and said "I don't even want to pay for this check". He pointed at my nose saying he would call the police if we didn't pay. My friend said we would pay for it, please just leave the right check and leave me alone. He refused to leave, standing by our table, said I was threatening him and commanded me to swear to him that I would pay. W!T!F! Be very carefully to look through the check! Also, don't believe their suggested tips, they are higher than the actual value. They kept saying they are just opening ans it's a mess in the kitchen. It's been a month. I don't understand why they still only have two servers on Sunday night and why they hire servers without basic train. We have never been treated like this before and we will never come again.

Vicky Z.

Yelp
Never been to a Bonchon restaurant before, and I doubt I will be going again. Ordered a small half & half (soy/ginger & sweet/crunchy). The whole container contained only sweet, plus if you look at the photo there were only 9 pieces in the container and the portions between the two sides were nowhere close to equal. The fries were fine, but had been dumped in a brown paper bag, which just looked atrocious. Even the cheapest of fast food places put fries in a paper container and then in a bag. I also ordered the octopus dumplings (takoyaki), and the person taking the order didn't know it was on the menu...I had to find it for him. Not impressed at all. The chicken was fine, but not what I ordered. The dumplings were okay, nothing to rave about. And the seasoned fries tasted fine, but they need to rethink the packaging.

Yelp
Fried chicken just needs to be enjoyed as dine in, it doesn't travel well, period. Dine in here for the first time on Sun afternoon, service was great and foods came out fast and super tasty. Plain fried rice, steamed rice, onion rings, and spicy wings were tasty & awesome!

Yelp
Only giving 2 stars because the food is delicious! Would give 1 for the prices and rudeness of staff! Imagine paying $13.00 for 4 halfway full, small containers of Ranch to dip when you order 20 pieces of chicken! Well, that is what they charge...

Yelp
I love Bonchon Waltham. Ever since the place has been taken over by new management and ownership, the place changed 180! Service and food has improved so much, and they are so so Friendly there. I wish people would recognize this place more !!

Yelp
I give it one star only only because there's no 'zero star'. Highly NOT recommended this place based on following: 1)same size of combo fried chicken at this Bonchon is $5 more expensive than the Bonchon at Allston. Why would I not drive further to go to that one? 2) look at the 'drumstick' you are going to get in the attached picture 3) no one ever filled out water, not even once 4) if you want extra pack of bibimbap, they will charge you. Have you ever seen any Koran restaurant charge you For bibimbap source? Ridiculous 5) the music is extremely loud, this made the whole dinner to an extra level of unpleasant. NOT GONNA GO BACK!!!!

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch while working in the area. The front of the building was undergoing construction as they were taking down the Bonchon sign from above the door (which was a little weird since this is a new location) We arrived about 20 mins after opening so we were seated in an empty restaurant. More customers arrived as we were waiting to order and were all seated in same corner which was a little awkward. The tables are pretty tight and it was tough to walk between them while 90% of the dining room was empty We ordered lunch specials of wings with sides of rice and fries. We were served by 3 waiters/waitresses and they would come in succession and other times we wouldn't see anyone for almost 30 minutes. The sides were delivered 10 minutes before our meal which was strange. Food was served warm an mostly on par with what I've received at other local Bonchon's Overall, it wasn't the best stop for a work lunch because we were basically seated with a few other tables but the food was good. Maybe will try coming back in a few months if this location is still around

Yelp
Get the pork buns! They won't disappoint. Soy garlic boneless wings are perfection. But don't let the side of radish sit in your fridge more than a few days. You'll regret it.

Yelp
The rudest behavior I have ever experienced from a customer service standpoint. We were given red meat instead of chicken tacos, we went to return it and the manager refused to give us our original order. She said we couldn't get chicken because our original order was chicken. It was not - she refused to even open the box to check. We asked for her name and she said "you won't need it." She was absolutely mean to us, don't go to this location. Mass has other options. Edit: we did not even TOUCH the tacos. We literally can't eat beef due to religious reasons. I can't believe you're actually trying to blame us. Absolutely disgusting.

Yelp
For starters: Giving an extra star to round up my rating from 2.5 to 3 because their service was friendly & efficient. (And because I kind of pity the poor reviews the place has gotten so far) The establishment, however... is a sorry excuse of a Korean bunshik/snack food establishment. The prices are marked up and side dishes do not come free, unless you've ordered a special or specific entree that comes with a side. Otherwise, you're looking to pay $2-3.5 for a small, sorry dish of pickled radish or coleslaw. This stuff is free and comes with a free refill at other Korean establishments. The quality of the food is also nothing to write home about. For an establishment that is famous for its Korean fried chicken, the fried chicken is pretty good. Fried well & seasoned well. However... the chicken katsu was just sad. It took a while to come out -- the server did apologize for it taking so long -- but the chicken pieces were sad, thin, slightly overbreaded, and also over cooked. Portion sizes left us feeling hungry afterwards, but... even with paying their lunch special prices, my husband and I couldn't be bothered to pay any more. I wish this establishment the best -- I don't think we'll be back, and from the looks of how empty the restaurant was, others may be hard pressed to feel similarly.

Yelp
Food is okay, but consistency is an issue. Sometimes the fries are soggy, and the chicken is not as tasty or hot.
