10 Best Charlotte Restaurants With Cozy Vibes | Eater Carolinas

"Bond Street Wines is a timeless wine shop in Myers Park with an itty bitty counter for locals to enjoy a glass or two and some aperitivo snacks, including $1 chips. The shop is 20 years old, and just like some of the best bottles of wine, the age on this place sits nicely on the palate. Don’t be fooled — there are still a lot of young, new-age wines scattered amongst some higher-end classics. First-timers are treated like neighborhood regulars and offered a glass to sip while strolling around the petite store — a style of hospitality that just straightaway makes a place feel cozy." - Kayleigh Ruller

Best Restaurants in Spartanburg, South Carolina | Eater Carolinas

"This second location of the popular Charlotte wine shop has made a name for itself on Spartanburg’s Main Street. Knowledgeable staff pour wine by the glass. There are retail bottles too, and the selection of grower-wine and small-production vineyards is fun to peruse. The bar is a lively place. There’s charcuterie with thoughtful cheese choices and tables out front to soak up the small-town vibe. Its prime location at the center of the downtown district makes it a top spot for happy hour." - Stephanie Burnette

Google
Enjoyed our visit last night to Bond Street Wines. Our waitress was friendly, attentive and suggested a delicious bottle to share! She provided us a wine chiller & even gave us a bag to take home our leftovers. Highly recommend.

Jeff was absolutely amazing. Rainy day in Spartanburg and he was a great host and had great recommendations. Will definitely be back again!

These guys know wine. Selections available for all palettes and wallets. Excellent customer service and kind staff people. Cool monthly club offerings -- a great way to be introduced to wines we might otherwise not try or have access to. Highly recommended.

We hosted a pre graduation celebration in the cellar and had a blast. Alex was amazing in his recommendations for wine, the charcuterie board was delicious, and the space was the perfect venue to spend meaningful time with friends and family on such an auspicious occasion!

Just came from a quick visit to Spartanburg and this wine bar is spectacular! The staff were so friendly and suggested some delicious wines to taste. They had so many different wines to choose from and I really enjoyed the experience. Will definitely be returning next time I'm in the area.

I don't know where to begin. The setting, including outdoor seating. Maybe the fact that local musicians are typically playing Friday nights. How about the friendly service. Or the reasonably priced wines. The owner is very down to earth and knowledgeable about the wines. If there is a taste you're looking for, he will find it for you. This place is a great spot to just come and relax and enjoy some wine and the atmosphere associated with this great city.

Google
Great place for good wines. Very knowledgeable staff and always willing to explain and chat. Wine club is a great option for monthly variety tailored to one's tastes.

Google
Great selection, less than stellar service. Sometimes the employees are kind, other times not so much. Still worth the visit.

Yelp
We've always enjoyed this place for a glass of wine to wind down after the hustle and bustle of event's downtown and would suggest it for every wine enthusiast. We've came in with friends many times and enjoy the ambiance of the place. However, today we wanted to settle down, have a glass and relax outside. We had our Brittany/Doodle with us and requested water. It was indicated that there was a bowl outside "somewhere" and if that wasn't available a tap was along side the wall. Also, we wanted a Pinot Grigio type of wine and was suggested a cheap alternative, bottle if you may at the cost of $16. I'm not aware of what kind of "profile" my wife was given by the attendant but the aforementioned circumstances were uncalled for. Being a part of the Spartanburg area for the last decade, I myself being part of the music scene and my wife as a business professional I feel this was unbecoming, rude and disrespectful. I understand at the end of the day we are all human but this was extremely disappointing to be treated in such manner. I will still recommend this place but with caution.

Yelp
We saw this establishment had outdoor seating, so as a family we decided to stop in for a glass of wine. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly, they assisted us in selecting a good red to enjoy prior to dinner. The outdoor seating face a small alleyway, there was a wonderful musician directly across from us playing the saxophone. The wine selected was a very good Cabernet. I decided to peruse through the selection of wines available inside for sale, I did not find anything that really stood out, there was one bottle that did stand out but after looking at the price I realized much of the wine selection was marked up. I returned to the table to enjoy the bottle we did purchase. We did return to the area the next evening and figured we would return for a drink before dinner, unfortunately the lights were out and the shades were down. This was quite a surprise and a disappointment at the same time, the business hours they have listed indicated they would be open during that time period we were there. We ended up going down the street to another establishment for drinks. I would say the price point for a glass of wine is reasonable, wine by the bottle seems to be a bit high and I never purchase based on convenience.

Yelp
Rose' tasting....OMG! It was absolutely fabulous! The selected rose's were unbelievable and what I had been drinking in Nice! ( Not the syrupy sweet stuff the distributors in the USA thought would appeal to the US palate). Everyone at Bond Street seemed to get what sitting at a cafe in the south of France and sipping rose' would/could be like...yes in lil ole Spartanburg! There were wonderful appetizers to go with the rose', great music, and let's talk rose'...over 12 samples(!)of a mixture of French as well as Italy and yes Slovenia (it's been emerging on the wine scene). What an afternoon of watching the world go by while sipping some outstanding wine! If you haven't been you need this in your life!

Yelp
Visiting my brother in Spartanburg who lives down the street from Bond Street Wines. Wonderful place to try new wines or enjoy my usual Pinot Grigio. Jeff is very welcoming and personable, has excellent recommendations, and makes you feel at home!

Yelp
We used to stop in to Bond Street Wines every Friday to share a bottle of wine and just enjoy downtown Spartanburg. The rating I gave is not based on the wine selection, the wine has always been very good but as time went on, it became more and more apparent that if you were not a member of the wine club, your patronage was not appreciated very much. We began to feel more tolerated than welcomed so we have decided to take our business elsewhere.

Yelp
I love this place. Our son goes to school nearby and this is always one of our stops when we are in town. They have a beautifully curated wine selection that is second to none. The staff is helpful and very friendly. Six stars if that was a thing.

Yelp
If you've been following Hub City Bites, it is no surprise to you that we have another newcomer to downtown Spartanburg: Bond Street Wines. Owner Jeff House has been a resident of Spartanburg for over 10 years and has just opened the second branch of Bond Street Wines on Main Street! They specialize in offering unique and limited production wines either by the glass or bottle in the store, or you can take some home to share - perfect for the upcoming holiday season. He is extremely knowledgeable...I learned more about what I was drinking in the 10 minutes he spoke to us than I ever have at any wine bar. The store is simple and modern, with floor-to-ceiling shelves lined with all the varieties you could hope for. In addition to a long and inviting bar, there are several high-top tables with fabulous views of main street through the enormous wrap-around windows in the corner shop. Bond Street will offer charcuterie to-order from Renato's on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, and be on the lookout for announcements about wine-tastings for the community. Spartanburg is proud to have not only Bond Street Wines but also Carriage House Wines to fulfill our dreams of hosting that perfect meal. Please consider patronizing both, and welcome Bond Street Wines to Spartanburg!

Yelp
I recently went to downtown Spartanburg for dinner with my fiance. After having a great meal, we started walking around downtown and stumbled upon Bond Street Wines. We had passed this place before and kept saying we needed to try it so we finally did. This is one of my favorite places in downtown Spartanburg. They have a very wide selection of wine to choose from, from all over the world. They also do a wine tasting that is pretty unique to other places that are similar. Instead of just the set wines you can pick from the people who worked there asked about what types of wine you like and went from there. The staff was incredibly friendly and the vibe of the place was relaxing. That will not be the last time I go there!

Yelp
Marvelous and friendly wine bar where I felt like an appreciated regular in minutes. Jeff is great to chat with and the regular customers are all friendly. I was visiting from the north east and Bond is my favorite stop for great wine. Nice outdoor seating too. I'm coming back for sure.

Yelp
We LOVE this place! For starters, they have the absolute BEST customer service. The employees here are so helpful and kind. They can find something for every taste. Their charcuterie boards rotate out and are always great. I would highly recommend this place!

Yelp
Huge selection of wines to choose from the many different regions. Jeff and Natalia are knowledgable with all of them. You can tell either of them what you prefer and they can pair you up with a wine that I guarantee you will enjoy. Atmosphere is warm and inviting and set up nicely for meeting new friends. Stop in one time and your sure to return. R Gray

Yelp
Love this place. The guys always help with a perfect bottle selection. One of the things we miss about not being in Spartanburg anymore.

Rachel A.

Yelp
Large selection and variety. The atmosphere is so fun and has more seating outside and towards the back. The staff was so kind and knowledgeable. We will absolutely be back again and again!

Yelp
Quite busy on a Friday night and the service isn't quite as good as it needs to be. However, They have a great wine selection and they seem to really know their wines. A flight of five for $10 is very reasonable. Wines are very reasonably priced and I highly recommend.

Chuck C.

Yelp
I don't know how this place stays in business. The hours are terrible and it seems like every time I try to go there they have a damn private party. Try putting a sign on the door so your employees don't basically have to kick us out. Wine selection is pretty good but very overpriced! We won't be back!

Hilary H.

Yelp
This is a great spot for Spartanburg. Jeff and the rest of the staff are extremely friendly and super knowledgeable about their wine. They have a nice wine selection and we always have such a great time at Bind Street.

Elizabeth W.

Yelp
In short, don't bother going here if your in your late 20's or early 30's. They only want to serve you if you're 60+. We were so excited to try this new wine bar and experience the growth of downtown Spartanburg. However, we waited 20 minutes and we're ignored while we watched 3 other parties after us be served and everyone else be catered to while they just waltz past us. It was very poor in taste and obviously in service. We were never asked our drink order let alone introduced to the new bar offerings. They sat us down and left us with empty glasses for almost a half hour. We left for the new AC Hotel Lounge and will remain customers of the Carriage House for wine night.
