Love this place! Cheap yet good drinks, awesome diversity of music, the workers up front are so friendly and are on a first name basis with a lot of regulars which is nice to see that type of community!!! I’ve made so many friends here in the times i’ve gone. Most importantly, people actually dance at this club. Keep up the good work!

The top floor is just too hot. The building is amazing and historic. The backyard is awesome. My bartender was not too friendly. Music is ok. The main room should have more modern house/dance music.

I used to prop up this place in the early - mid '80s when a $2 cover charge would buy you in, and well drinks were 25¢ on Wednesday nights! Those were the DAZE. My most recent visit in March 2025 was on a Sunday night. No cover charge, but there was a thorough frisk/pat-down at the front door. The only difference between crossing the threshold and going through airport security is that I did not have to remove my shoes, but we are now living in a post 9/11 world. The main dancefloor was closed, and a call drink (Tito's vodka & tonic) was *$8* served in a plastic cup. The little drag show scheduled to start at 11:00 p.m. didn't get underway until closer to midnight. The entertainment running late was the only thing that hasn't changed after all these decades. I may go back again in about 20 years if there's anyone left alive to roll me around in my wheelchair.

We celebrated on ur 7 years anniversary here last night. Best people, atmosphere and drinks. We had a blast . Happy to support Pride Week with them .

We visited the BX while in town for a conference. It was the worst decision we made. The women’s bathroom smells like a fishbowl that has never been cleaned. We used the stall in the men’s room (no one else was in there) and the manager called security on us. The bartender would not serve us more than 4 drinks (over the span of 3 hours) without us taking a “break” and drinking water. During this time, we were the ONLY patrons in the building. He also charged us for a drink that someone else had already paid for. We stayed for the drag show and tipped well. At the end of the show, a different manger was thanking everyone for coming and decided to point us out and call us “haters” to the whole audience. Choose somewhere else!!!

Great customer service from all the employees at Bonham Exchange, very friendly and professional. The bartenders are exceptionally good with great genuine smiles. Security is awesome and very well-trained for any situation. The Dj's on Friday and Saturday nights are wickedly talented and play the most upbeat current club dance music that will keep you dancing all night. The atmosphere and layout of the multiple dance floors provide ample room for everyone to dance comfortably. Many beautiful attractive men and women having a colossal time together to unwind with a no-flex zone, non-judgemental environment!!!

Been there a few times and had no problems but this time we got kicked out by security. Me and my sister were there from 10 to 1 going on 2 o’clock. And the short female security guard asked were my M’s were and I told her that they washed off, I’d been using the bathroom multiple times and so had my sister.And she just kicked us out saying to never come back.

Like others have posted, beware they will place a $50 hold on your account. We went on sat and it’s now Wed and the charge is still pending when the other legitimate charges have already posted. The bartender also charged me for 3 drinks when I only had 2 but gave me the 3rd one after I disputed it with her. I didn’t want a 3rd drink so i ended up giving it away as opposed to being charged the correct amount.

We always have a great time when we come to Bonham. Their security/front door staff are always super nice and it's a very inclusive environment supporting the lgbtq community. They have multiple bars and music areas to choose from so you can experience different vibes in each setting. The only reason I couldn't give full stars is because one of the bartenders lost a $5 bill we gave her when paying for drinks, then claimed that she never had it. She didn't even bother looking on the floor for it either. Luckily drink prices were low, but still that could've bought me an extra shot if she wasn't so careless!

Normally I have fun when I go here but last night me and my friends were celebrating my 21st birthday. I had heard that supposedly that if it's your birthday you get in "for free" I just decided to test that theory and told the lady checking IDs that it was my birthday in the nicest tone but I wasn't expecting anything. She in return said "what do you want me to do about that?" Like 4 times while I looked at her out of embarrassment and didn't really know what to say and I proceeded to say "uhhh my friend told me y'all do free entry for birthdays" and then she said "okay just tell them you're my guest" so then we went it and started having fun and got drinks, my friend told the bartender to leave her tab open for her and the bartender said "okay" then all of a sudden she got charged $150 and then they tried charging her $180 so her account got frozen for fraud??? I usually have fun here and still did last night but that lady at the front needs to be put in her place, you have no reason or right to give people attitude, even if I was spontaneously telling you it was my birthday you don't give customers bad service for no reason.

Came here for a birthday party . This place is always so fun. Great music and a huge venue. The staff at the bars was friendly and fast. We had some quesadillas from the pop up shops. Can't wait to come back

I forgot to bring my id last night. My husband and I showed up here on a whim bc I thought it would be fun. Boy was I wrong. The lady checking id's showed no mercy and told me I'm not allowed in, HOWEVER, if we paid her $40 dollars she would let me in. This is a total racket and this woman should be fired for trying to exploit her position checking id's. So basically this woman will bend the rules and let an underage person in as long as you pay her fee

So strange that so many find this place interesting, the music on the main dance hall wasn't by any notable EDM artist (Skrillex, or deadmau5) but strange music that paused mid beat with weird slow wave passages that people danced exactly the same as the fast passages - alcohol is a wonderful thing!

It was a really enjoyable experience I had fun I was just going to a alot of different places I like how big this place is & how many different floors & rooms that it has & I like how people were wearing little accessories like cat tails & ears & things like that & makeup. It was fun. It was a lot of fun.

Great place. Several different areas with different themes. Music upstairs was too loud to talk to people.

My very first time being here was fine but within five minutes of entering the club, we had the rudest bartender. He had a beard in the first room with the games. Very rude and my friend was ordering multiple red bulls and vodka and when I stepped up to ask for my drink, he goes "I already started pouring" assuming I was just going order that and would not let me finish trying to order. The rest of the bartenders were easy going and chill but this guy definitely has a problem talking to people. Since he was the first person we interacted with, it put a sour taste in our initial mood. The place is spacious so you're not clumped next to other people which is plus. Since it is a gay club, I wish they played more fun and iconic gay "anthems" to dance and sing to. I'd go again but avoid that one bartender.

this is a really fun club, i enjoy coming here. but the (i assume) manager had said "you just can't help yourself" to the bartender as i had just bought him a shot and we were about to take it. which i see as a extremely unprofessional and unnecessary.

If you get there early it's like a ghost town. They were really ready to conduct business building 40 minutes after they opened.

This was one of the better nightclubs I've been to -- no creepy touchy men (huge), a good setup, and pretty decent music. The reason I give it 3 stars-- my friend and I are both 20 so we had to pay a $15 cover charge. They marked up our hands with blue marker that immediately came off when we went to the bathroom and washed our hands, but we shrugged thinking that it wouldn't matter since everyone 21+ had a pink wristband anyway. We were dancing and two angry, shirtless undercover security guards came up to us accusing us of intentionally trying to get rid of the markings, saying that we would be immediately kicked out if we didn't have them. We explained that they came right off when we washed our hands and they rolled their eyes and forced us upstairs to this closet-like room to get re-marked. Not a super pleasant experience so proceed with caution if you're under 21

Stopped by on a Thursday night and heard Ms.Chappel Roan playing! Paid only $5 for the fee to go inside and it was such a Fun experience! loved the drag show!!!

went on a saturday night and my group of friends and i had a pretty good time, music was fine and drinks were good. only thing i will say is my boyfriend is 20 and underage, he had one sip of my drink and a "rent a cop" lol was watching and kicked us out immediately, not even a warning but fair enough, we go outside and the lady tells us him and i are BANNED FOR LIFE. i was honestly shocked like i mean ban us for a month or a year yeah but FOREVER? you kidding? then if things couldn't get worse my friends truck got broken into and his girlfriends card got stolen. the cops came they were nice and helpful, my friend had to go pee so we went back to the entrance and i told the lady our problem and if my friend could just use the bathroom. she told us i was banned and im not allowed the set foot on the property ever again, even my friend who was not banned, honestly just really rude. we went across the street to a hotel and was treated better lol. i enjoyed the atmosphere and most everyone in the place it's a lot of fun, but getting banned felt like a kick in the head and i didn't even get to finish my drink. well i guess ill never come back my choice or not.

Great prices parking was a little pricy would recommend getting dropped off. Lots of lights staff was friendly.

They told me I couldn't have my pepper spray and they could do air it from me but that they wouldn't be able to give it back when I leave. Then charge $5 for entry but don't even have the simplest things like simple syrup and cannot make an old fashioned. Also it's empty at 11pm on a Friday. Music was good though

Still a Fire club. But in comparison Saturday is a much better night to go than Friday. More people, more dancing, much more crowd fun. That being said had a great time with the peeps and drank and danced my ass off until 2am. Drinks are cheap and people are great!

A historical mansion turned into an absolute hangout. They certainly know how to get down and wild at Bonham. They had a club scene downstairs and with multiple hang out rooms. Upstairs they were having an all out drag contest party

Had the worst experience ever tonight. We had already gotten into the place, my family of 8 had already ordered drinks, my sister in law runs to the bathroom and suddenly the bartenders are claiming she's underage?? After they had already scanned her ID at the front and given her an over 21 wristband. The rent a cops cornered them when her and my brother got out of the bathroom demanding to see their IDs, my brother provided them with it and the rent a cops started pushing them out the front door. My parents were questioning the rent a cops and they were stating she's underage drinking??? They literally scan IDs at the front you're going to tell me that the machine is broken/faulty?? The rent a cops were pushing my brother and my mom stepped in between them to stop them from getting physical with him and then the rent a cop shoved her. She immediately started recording and they stepped away from us and asked us to leave. All 8 of us had already ordered drinks and they refused to give us a refund. We will not be stopping at this bar ever again for any future Pub Runs. Worst experience and the shittiest rent a cops.

the lady checking IDs was very rude. life is never that serious and we are just trying to have fun at the club!!! nobody was drunk and nobody was being disrespectful so just live and let live!! sorry y'all i'm hot and bothered over how we were treated while trying to get in.

This building is super cool. I appreciate that they have different music on different floors to accommodate all different tastes. We got there early on Saturday, around 10pm, and they had a special for $3 on ANY drink untill 11pm which basically set us up for the rest of the evening. Place gets hella crowded around 11pm and the line was around the block.

Nice place to go get lost in yourself .. they have different rooms with different music..one room has a great dancing floor..

Went there yesterday spent $24 and this morning my credit card had a charge of $50. Really? UPDATE: the $50 is just a fee until your credit Card pays the club. after 3 days $50 fee changes to original amount. Went back there to sort this out. Music is by far the BEST in SA.

Ah the found memories of this place. Last time I went downtown it looked like it was shut down. I hope not! I need to comeback one day for another good night

I go to the weekly Sunday jazz nights offered by the Roarin' Jazz Club hosted at Bonham Exchange (upstairs). The event is always really well done, offering a venue for bands across the San Antonio, Austin, and Dallas areas. The event is co-run by the San Antonio Swing Dance Society who also raffles off amazing jazz records during the band breaks. The community is incredibly welcoming and warm to anyone interested in dancing or simply there to enjoy the amazing music performed. You absolutely must make time on Sunday to drop by upstairs the venue and check out some really great jazz musicians. SASDS periodically offers beginner lessons, so be sure to keep an eye out on their Facebook page to see what is being offered that particular night. Sit back, relax, and enjoy some roarin' hot jazz.

The Bonham Exchange is a gorgeous, huge, and spacious LGBT+ friendly night club with bars at every corner and a kind and friendly atmosphere. Went for the the first time to a club and chose this spot. Every drink was tasty and all the staff were professional and polite. Friday night has to be the best night to go, especially when you have the password and your drinks are $2-$4 a pop. An incredible experience that's worthy of a repeat.

The environment was fun and I felt that the security was truly looking after the people inside to insure safety. I liked the different rooms to hang out as well as the wide range of music.

Man this place is awesome, so much that I went two times in a row as I was staying in San Antonio with my brother for a short trip, the music on all three floors was great! The ambiance was great everything! For sure I'll be there anytime I'm in San Antonio

This used to be primarily a gay club but because the dancing space (3 floors of it with different music on each floor) and music is so awesome, it has turned into a mix of heterosexual couples, singles and gay people. I've seen all age ranges there from 20 somethings to 40 somethings and everyone seems to get along. We have ended more than one pub crawl at this place and have never seen or experienced any problems with staff or other patrons. It's REALLY a fun place and great for dancing!

Fun dance club in San Antonio. The place is HUGE! It caters to an LGBT clientele but there was also a big straight audience as well. There are a variety of rooms with different music options. Not a bad way to spend a night.

Bonham Exchange is the last bar for the monthly First Fridays Pub Run San Antonio. May's theme: May the 4th Be With You! I love this place! There are 5+ areas to party with various music genres. It's a LGBTQ+ bar that everyone is welcome at and can feel comfortable. The music is pumping, the dance floor is plenty big in the downstairs area. Oh yeah, it used to be a church! The drinks are inexpensive, the staff friendly and there's food outside in the courtyard. It's definitely one of my favorite if not, my favorite bar in S.A. to go out and dance in.

If I could leave zero stars I would. My gay cousin has been turned away TWICE now. Both times for being "too drunk" meanwhile I asked this time to speak to someone in charge, the GM who would not share his name, to whom we had at least an 8 minute conversation where my cousin (who is an ADA) was coherent and genuinely concerned/confused why he was refused in his hot pink pant onesie. Strange as this bar used to be for allies. We were in the Barbie bar crawl and this stop completely ruined our experience. I will implore the bar crawls of SA to avoid this establishment at all costs as I believe their responses were that of bigots and completely unwarranted. I will NEVER enter this establishment and will use every means possible to expose the injustice breeding in this business. DISGUSTING is about the only word I can think of to describe this place. Avoid at all costs.

So much fun! Love hopping from dance floor to dance floor. Not difficult to get a drink from bar tenders. Visit them!

Great vibe. Music is great at the bottom dance floor. Bartenders are sporadic on drink quality. Some are very watered down. Overall nice place.

I cannot say too much about this place because I was not there for an extended amount of time. I was under the assumption that this place was a bar, rather than a club/lounge. That's what I get for listening to actual humans rather than Yelping places. Of course, I arrived at Bonham at 8ish and it pretty much was empty. No, it was empty; I was the only patron. That said, the madam who was in charge of the front door was totally cool, allowed me to visit the back bar, and order a drink. Bonham has a very relaxed vibe . . . Then again, I was about an hour early. There was a $2 well-drink special, so I pretty much ordered a triple gin and soda, nursed it for a bit, and left for another adventure. The staff seemed quite friendly.

Honestly the DJ was awesome and the atmosphere is great! But.... Staff isn't friendly to people who are from out of state. I also think if we, our group, were a different race or ethnicity we would have been treated better. We actually got kicked out because they claim a minor was in possession of alcohol. Our 20 year old friend hold an empty cup of alcohol for another friend for about 5 seconds and gave it back. She never drank anything. According to the security supervisor holding an empty cup of alcohol is illegal. That I understand. They could have giving us a warning, but instead they just kicked us out and band us. We were not aggressive or combatants. It ruin a great night. I do not recommend this place to people who are not local or a certain prefer race.

If your itching to get out with your friends; curious, bi, str8 and gay. Omg this is like a lil piece of New York smack down close to the Alamo. I love being places where all walks of like are accepted for who they are. This is the place to come if your coming in a group or if you have a friend with you. I noticed most people were in groups or with friends. I was alone so it felt a bit weird at 1st. I visited 4 dance floors, all of which played different beats. EDM, Latin, R&B and one with a more traditional Latin vibe. Come ye and come all , come to Bonehm where the beers are cheap and the music will keep you moving all night.

Best place for dancing and drinks specials ! It's 18 and up . Every time I go I never remember anything and get really wasted .! People who work at the Bonham are amazing very friendly. The restroom are very clean . The secret restroom are by the coat room. Parking can be a tad be sketchy , but it's down town ! I can't wait to go again

We had an overall fantastic experience from the people who worked there. Great bartenders great food in the patio. But the DJ's felt like I was listening to a high school illegal house party from 2014. If the DJ's would be set to a certain genre for the whole night and played the same genre of music all night it would be a better experience in my opinion. The DJ's play a different genre with each song they play which doesn't keep a crowd alive. More than half the people who are o the dance floor are just standing confused trying to find the rhythm for a new song and change it up for the next. Take this as a business opportunity because this club has a lot of potential.

bottom floor doesn't play pitbull. idk why. I need pitbull in my life ya know... and they used to play pitbull... but none tonight. DJ can do better. other than that 10/10

Really fun place except for the rude bartender on the second floor with the pig tails who gave me attitude because I ordered 3 shooters and then when she finished making them ordered more drinks. Then I tipped cash and put it straight in the tip jar and she accused me of not tipping!! Really ruined my mood for the night.

I always have a fun time at the Bonham! There are three different music/ dance rooms, so something for everyone...The bartenders are nice, and it's a no judgement zone... I love it!

Good ole Bonham. My old stomping ground from my early 20's. I spent a lot of time drinking, dancing and hanging out with friends there. A few friends wanted to go and relive our youth and it was still the same. Still huge, clean and well stocked. They introduced me to a new shot...thank you little baby Jesus in a gold diaper....Jameson shot with a pickle juice chaser, a Pickle Back if you will. I have had more of these in the last few months and I always have the set up in my fridge/freezer. Try one, do it. Try the food outside, it smells amazing. Look for the hot officer that patrols inside.

Such a neat venue! Tons of space and a variety of music...drinks are fairly priced but let me warn you, the tacos upstairs are disgusting!!!!! The meat is tasteless...like I literally thought of the color gray when I took a bite!

When I was a teenager, in high school, I would come here and dance my butt off so hard that I would leave completely drenched from sweat. I was always let in with no cover (probably because the door guy/lady knew i was there just to dance and not to drink). However, times have changed and now, as a minor (as in under 21 yrs old), you will have to pay a cover charge that ranges from $5-$25 depending on the night. This is only because as a minor you will not be contributing to the 10-15 bartenders staffed here at night that rely on tips for their living wage. Here's the breakdown on The Bonham - this is a LGBT bar that is friendly to allies and straight folks who like to dance, get down, drink, and mingle. There are male dancers who dance on Friday & Saturday nights beginning at 9pm on the stages all around this cool and very old building. There will be no cover charge if you are over 21 and there will be a brisk 'pat down' before you walk in. This is only because, in the past, there have been some incidents of people fighting and/or sneaking in liquor or flasks. Just be cool with the staff and let them do their thing. You do your thing and be cool about it all. Everyone has to go through it. Here are a few tips I recommend you do and or think about before you come on out: 1. BRING CASH - its so loud due to the music and the bass so it will be hard to try to dictate what drinks goes on what tab. Drinks are cheap so the more $5-$10 bills you can bring the better. 2. LEAVE YOUR PHONE in a secure pocket and don't bring in a purse that you can't zip up or wear across your chest (messenger style) - there can be guys who come up to you and/or ladies that will try to reach for things and money and phones in your purse. 3. GET THERE EARLY - never a line and never a cover charge if you do especially when its Saturday nights. These are their busiest nights. 4. DRINK PLENTY OF WATER - you will sweat and you will get down with all of the types of music the DJ's play in each dance room.

If you can't have fun here, then you are some sort of freaking alien/commie hybrid!! Seriously, what is your problem?! The Bohnam has everything anyone could want: multiple level dance floors, bars EVERYWHERE, food and smoking on the patio,go-go dudes (which I think they should have go-go chicks too, I mean even gay guys like girls skimpy clothes) Pick a bartender and stick with them, they get more and more generous with the pours the more you come back. Give them a dollar extra a drink you cheap monkey and they'll take care of you!!

This club has a great vibe and the DJs are on point. I had an awesome time last night. I would give this joint 5 stars, one of the bar staff brought the vibe down. I heard a bartender (The one with the Harley Quinn pigtails) accuse a customer of not tipping. Actually got very rude with the customer. I like to tip, but when did it become a thing for the bartender to cuss out the customer for not. Oh, I saw the lady tip also. The other bartenders were really cool. Still gonna frequent this place, but I ain't tipping that bartender.
