I visited Bonhams for the very first time on Thurs 21st August to see the Downton Abbey Exhibition! The entrance is so beautiful and elegant with plenty of lovely greenery - lovely tall plants and mirrors. The receptionist was nice and I preceeded to the exhibition which was AMAZING!!! Sophisticated and the costumes and items from the production across the seasons were classic!! It was emotional and breathtaking being able to see these items up close.

Great to visit Bonham's today to see all The Crown costumes and props before they are auctioned. Great layout lots of floors for it to displayed, very modern rooms with a large lift. Very nice and friendly and helpful staff. Greatly situated in New Bond Street, with all the nice designer shops. Lovely to see all the costumes and props used, so much detail to get it close to the real royal family. Including the gold state coach, so very life-like. I loved the 10 Downing Street door, to, it looked so real and the model of the mall, with all the soldiers and coaches. Great that it was free to visit as well.

Visit Downton Abbey pre-auction exhibition, impeccable service even though this is exhibition for public.

The Crown exhibition in London is truly amazing! From its captivating displays to the meticulous attention to detail, every aspect of the exhibition immerses visitors in the rich history of the British monarchy. The curated collection of artifacts, costumes, and historical documents provides a fascinating insight into the royal journey through time. The exhibition successfully blends educational elements with an engaging experience, making it a must-visit for history enthusiasts and fans of The Crown alike.

Great auction house. We visited multiple times in the past. This time Netflix "The Crown" props exhibition was on. Fantastic opportunity for fans of the series, the royal family or TV making to peek behind the scenes (and consider owning items from the show). Multiple floors of clothing, furniture, design drawings, photos and paintings... So many items used as part of the show including the royal carriage, palace gates or downing Street no. 10 entrance. Great stuff.

Bonhams is a very old and respected auction house, on regular days it handles fine arts. Until early February they are auctioning items from "The Crown", the Netflix show telling the story of British royals over the last century or so. A lot of clothing items as well as some iconic items related to the royal family and stuff about the making of the TV series. Highly recommended, very interesting, free to enter of course.

Went recently for the Gary Moore auction preview and found it an exceptional experience with everything perfectly displayed with lots of information relating the items. Bonhams premises are first class well worth a visit.

Yelp
First time purchase with Bonhams. It was easy to get signed up for the auction, however there are hidden fees that were not clearly explained online. When questioned about the fees, Bonhams said it is in the catalogs. I did not have a catalog, bidding online. Fifty years of buying items at auctions throughout the world and online, never have I been charged hidden fees like this.

Yelp
What a great meal from start to finish! Excellent fixed menu even for pescatarians. We opted for premium wine pairing-- next time I would go with a nice bottle of red burgundy although the wine pairing was very good. Each food presentation as well as each bite was perfect. The food amount was just enough-- left feeling content. Note: The dining area is small. Not stuffy not crowded. A perfect place for if you just want a great meal with attentive service.

Yelp
We visited the restaurant with high expectations, having read quite a lot about the chef and his background, and where not disappointed. The dining room is white, kept simple to leave decorations to the art on the walls as expected. Service is Michelin star from start to end. Not for a moment stiff, but instead rather personal. And without a flaw in knowledge and attention. Then, the food! Very gentle flavours, but still not simple. Every dish surprises in some way, flavour wise. Always with a thought about texture- something smooth, something crunchy. Not the most common main ingredients- mackerel, eggs, grouse, which makes it more fun. And he handles the meat and flesh as well as one could. All in all, beautiful, really well tasting dishes! The five courses served are big enough to fill you just to the right amount. And the great bread keeps coming, if you have a very big appetite. There is a wine pairing for 45 extra, well worth it's money. If three glasses plus dessert wine is too much for you, there is also great wines by the glass. So, came with high expectations and left with them fulfilled!

Yelp
Even though I have a very broad appreciation of the arts - enjoying everything from Titian to Tracey Emin I do have a soft spot for a certain type of creativitywell to be honest I have many but I'm just going to talk about one. I love graffiti. And while this love has taken me to interesting places, such as a spraying class in Bristol's inner city and hanging out of a car driving along Frankfurt's Autobahnen trying to take pictures of the kinds of elaborate pieces you'd never find in England thanks to their highway laws; one place I never thought this passion would find me standing is in the grand, almost regal-looking building that is home to Bonhams, the renowned art auction house in the middle of Bond Street. But here I was. What struck me upon entering was how wide their selection of graffiti artists' work was. Of course Banksy's stencils had to be there but there were many other surprises, like custom-painted surfboards by Pure Evil, pieces by Faile and of even better, the amazing Shepard Fairey, creator of those famously iconic Obama posters. I was nearly in heaven. I'd be in heaven if I had someone else's blank cheque book, in which case I would have been like a (very spoilt) kid in a candy shop. If you can beg borrow or steal an invite to one of the preview parties, be sure to attend. If the last one was anything to go by, many of the exhibiting artists were at the event, champagne flowed freely and DJs accompanied the smorgasbord of fantastic art on show. You won't be sorry.

Yelp
Offhand receptionist - demoralised staff doing the valuation. Go to Sotheby's 2 minutes down the road. 5 star service and a great building.

Yelp
Signed up for auction and was confirmed. Placed bid 2 weeks prior to start date which was also confirmed and was the winning bid. However, item was awarded to someone else with a considerably lower bid. Bonhams advised that they did not contact me for further information and appologized for their error. They offered instead a free catalog to their next auction. This organization lacks adequate and properly trained personnel.
