The Pizzas all LOOK amazing! Even though my pizza looked as amazing as the others, it just didn't deliver in taste.
This restaurant is in the Milk Market, a food hall. There are quite a few restaurant options here. Pizza sounded like a safe bet. There's only 6 items on their menu and they are all just different pizzas. Should be perfect! I ordered at the counter, was given a pager, and waited for it buzz. Then I went to pick up and bring my pizza to my space at the counter.
The pizza was $22 which was kind of pricy for me. When the lady told me the total was $29.08, I was in shock! Why so much? Well, she told me there's a 22% fee added called "CHP" = Creating Happy People. I wasn't happy about it, but I'm not one of the people they're trying to make happy with that fee. LOL. I don't know if she finished the transaction for me or if it was automatic, but either way, I wasn't given the option to leave a tip. That's fair. I had just left a tip (on top of the 22%) at the prior place I got something from because the POS machine asked & the amount was so miniscule it didn't compute in my brain.
They hand-toss the dough fresh and assemble it in plain sight. You can watch pizzas being cooked in the pizza oven. I watched from the counter seating pretty much in front of them. It gave me something to do as I waited approximately 30 minutes for my pizza.
The Kitchen Sink pizza I got was just average. I smothered it with crushed red pepper flakes. I didn't really care for the pizza. It seemed to be missing something even though it had pepperoni, sausage, black olive, red onion, mushroom, ricotta, & mozzarella. It needed a little zing! The crust was good. I ate a couple slices and took the rest home. My son who eats just about everything said it was "Just okay". He finished his slice but definitely wasn't impressed.
In addition to the mediocre pizza with the automatic addition of the CHP hospitality fee, I doubt I will return to order another pizza here.
