I'm not expecting amazing food at an Irish bar but these had to be the driest garlic bread I've ever had. They were essentially croutons with garlic on them. What they lacked in quality they made up for in quantity. There were tones of them and between two people we didnt have even half. The beer itself was pretty decent at a good price and a decent selection. If that is the main thing you came for you should be set. The staff is friendly and fast as well. We happened to come during a trivia day. Its fun that they have those but they also made it pretty loud and packed. I know that's the nature of trivia though.

We loved this place. A real Philly Irish pub. The bartenders were great. The food was all homemade, even the onion rings and the mashed potatoes. Be sure to ask if Richard is making the food. Apparently he’s been working at the restaurant for over 30 years making the food from scratch. I would definitely return here.

Google
Such a fun space and the bartenders are so nice. My boyfriend forgot his fanny pack, I called and they picked up right away and had it ready when he came in to get it. Thank you so much! Had a great time, played shuffle board for the first time and loved it!

Google
Our organization had a social event here, and Dan and crew accommodated us despite a late reservation. Dan was extremely welcoming and communicative, and the rest of the staff were friendly and super helpful. They gave our party of 40 half of the pub and they set up a tasty buffet and were generous with the booze. Throughout the event they treated us with utmost hospitality and for that, we are really grateful! Thanks, Dan and Co.!!!

Google
This is NOT the best bar in Philadelphia, as others have stated in their reviews. This place is very old and not kept up the best. The food is average. The service was decent, but the guy was new. The Flies in the place were an issue. I would go elsewhere. I am not a fan and would never go back

Google
Cool Irish bar that opens early. Nice beer list with a beer case even. Friendly people working make it a very comfortable spot. The menu has all the Irish classics.

Google
A genuine Irish pub in the heart of Philly. Ran across this quaint pub while exploring the city. Nick was great, greeted us as soon as we walked in and was very helpful. His pub had a very local feel and seems like a great place to catch the game and have a few beers with friends after work.

Yelp
cute & clean. the bar area is small but people there are friendly. it seemed to be a fair bit of regulars. this is a hidden gem in center city. cheap prices too

Yelp
Bonner's Irish Pub has the potential to be a great spot with good service but the food is terrible. It was kinda funny how bad the food was considering the location and simplicity of what you would expect from a pub. It just seemed like they decided to use a food distributor with the worst possible bites in philly. Tried the Gravy fires, chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks, cup of chilli, hot roast beef to name a few. What can ya do. It's hard to mess up those food items. Hopefully the business just makes simple adjustments to where they purchase their food and its quality. How does this happen. Lol

Yelp
Stopped in to waste time before a party nearby. glad I did! Surprise twist- the mixed mushroom soup, in a clear flavorful broth. I want more, right now. The fries with old bay & cajun seasoning- yes please! The bartender was super cool & drinks are cheap. The vibe was neighborhood bar, very casual & chill. We will be back!

Yelp
Looks like one reviewer was lucky to be served late night food at 10 PM. I'd say either they end right around 10 PM or they no longer go later. I think the waitress I had at the time mentioned they stopped at 9 PM on a Thursday. Upon arriving, we could tell this was a very localized bar. We ordered drinks, but didn't feel like we fit in from our RATS concert. One of my friends felt like he was getting a bit too much weird attention. Apparently, Rosy's bar very close by does food late, but can get packed and you may have to consider take out instead. Here seems like a great place during the day for a typical bar hangout with typical bar food and offerings. Good location- I don't hate it, but I'm not wowed. That could all change either way if I end up here again. Who knows?

Yelp
We went here for a quick stop last night. The bartenders were all nice and welcoming. They mostly offer beers and hard liquor. They have Irish decor and shamrocks all over, which is fitting to the whole theme. This is a great bar if you want a low key atmosphere.

Yelp
Always interesting people at the bar...you may even see Macy Jane (my pup). Danny the owner, Kathy behind the bar and the rest of the gang will always make you feel welcome.

Yelp
My wife and I started going to Bonner's a few years ago when they had outdoor tents set up during COVID. We developed relationships with the friendly staff. It was the perfect spot for my 40th birthday party. Danny, Ben and the staff were accomodating with the space. The food was tasty and the service & atmosphere were exactly what we were looking for. We highly recommend for small group outings.

Yelp
We went to Bonner's for the first time at 10 pm on a Saturday. We had been searching desperately for a quick and filling place to eat, and many of the restaurants in Graduate Hospital and Rittenhouse were closed or busy at this time. Bonner's turned out to be the perfect spot for a late night meal. We ordered bbq chicken wings (they were flexible and let me get ranch and blue cheese dip) that were perfectly crispy and saucy. We also had a side of crispy fries that came in a good portion. The vibe of the place was not too busy, with comfortable dim lighting and sports games playing on the TVs. The waitress was really attentive and nice. TLDR: affordable, quick and tasty bar food with great vibes and service!

Yelp
I had a party for 40 at Bonners, great time great place! Dan Bonner was so helpful and Cathy the bartender is a Superstar! Highly recommend Bonners!

Yelp
Great place, great people, great bartenders, and great food and reasonable prices. My son just moved to Philadelphia and we stopped in and felt more welcome there than in any place we have been. Eclectic crowd and everybody is friendly. If Cheers was real it still would not be as good as Bonner's. Also, if the pork sandwich is on special get it, it is exceptional.

Yelp
This is a great neighborhood pub. I enjoyed my grilled cheese sandwich with bacon and my Yard's Pale Ale. All seating in Philly right night is outside dining. They have a few tables. You can also order food and srinks for takeout. When we went it wasn't super packed at first, but the later it got. The place was full. I felt sorry for our waitress Chelsea. She was having to be waitress for all the tables as well as hostess and bartender. She did a great job but was running herself ragged. Next time I'm in Philly. I will have to go back.

Yelp
Yesterday we made a stop at Bonner's Irish pub on our annual football pub crawl in Philadelphia. A week before I contacted Dan Bonner, and he was able to schedule a nice catered dinner for us. On our way through the city. Dan stayed in contact with me the previous week to make sure everything would be perfect for our dinner. Needless to say everyone had a great time and we will definitely stop back again thank you to Dan and his staff

Yelp
What a great place! Cathy, the bartender, was amazing. Met some buddies in the city to go to a show, and we almost missed it because we were so entertained by Kathy-with a C! and the amazing atmosphere at this old school Irish style pub. She even had palms for us because it was Palm Sunday.

Yelp
Always such an amazing place!!! Has drinks with Cathy and Fairlane! So much hospitality and love. Best bar in Philadelphia!!

Yelp
What a great place. Was here Saturday afternoon and patrons are just friendly as heck. Vicki is a terrific bartender (and beautiful). A fireman, a professor, and one of the most lovely ladies I ever met. Lovely traditional Irish pub well lit and clean. Did not have food but from what I saw, you'd be pleased. I hope to definitely stop by again!

Yelp
Bonners is an excellent neighborhood bar! The most affordable place in the neighborhood. The service is friendly you start to feel like you're part of something when you go there. Excellent caterers if you need to have a party there or in a neighboring establishment at the Armory. They're great for that too. Fish and chips is great shepherds pie it's all good whether you're a student or a retiree or anything in between Bonners is a great place for everybody'

Yelp
It has been years since I have had such bad service anywhere. On a Saturday afternoon, I came to Bonner's with family after the Philly Beerfest. The place was essentially empty. We ordered a couple beers, which came out super fast (almost like they had been sitting). We placed our food order with our first server (of many) for shepherds pie (with French onion soup), Reuben (with French onion soup), and two orders of fish and chips. We watched as table after table was sat, ordered, and received food but our orders were will missing. The servers and staff were getting very overwhelmed with the number of people coming in for food. Eventually the Reuben, shepherds pie, and one of the fish and chips were delivered. No soup. No utensils. No second order of fish. We tried asking any passing server and someone appearing to maybe be a manager about the missing food, and were told "it's coming" with lots of agitation. We also saw the assumed manager taking shots behind the bar. Yikes. Eventually another server came by and asked "Is anyone doing anything for you guys?" A huge sign he knew we were getting frustrated and they were in the weeds. We explained about the soup, which was removed from our bill. Eventually the last order of fish came out, after everyone else finished eating. We asked to have it boxed up since we were just trying to leave this terrible experience ASAP. Someone brought it out in a styrofoam container in a plastic bag, and the container was VERTICAL. We knew everything was going to be a mess in there without even opening it. When we got home and open the container, we saw an open cup of tartar sauce and coleslaw, so the fish and the fries were soggy and soaked. Terrible experience from top to bottom. The staff at Bonner's would rather no one ever some in again than provide in minimally acceptable service.

Yelp
Stopped in last night for a drink, was quietly enjoying the shenanigans going on. I order a beer and pay, order food and a beer and pay, I pay every time my drink was brought out and I pay in cash. I stepped out for a smoke, and when I come back, the waitress charged me once again for my beer. I quietly pay the beer, and then tell her I had already paid. Tahoe got nasty with me and started kicking me out, accusing me of not paying my bill. Very unprofessional staff, the two girls would constantly step away to do bumps of coke since they kept saying "I'm going to get nosey" and "powder my nose". I'd stay away until they learn how to treat customers properly I stand by my review, and everything stated. Feel free to have your attorney contact me, and be ready to rest your employees again. I was sitting in the bar quietly and not bothering anyone, I was not being arrogant, I was expecting a minimum of professionalism which was sorely lacking

Yelp
Walked in during the hour or two before closing and the bartenders let us know we were still good to go for food ordering and whatnot! Keg kicked on my beer so they threw in the half cup for me. This place gave a local, friendly vibe even to me, there for the first time. Nice corner spot with indoor seating and some outdoor space depending on the weather. Surprisingly good bar pizza and awesome spicy cheese fries. Good prices, touch tunes for music and lots of space.

Yelp
Chill vibe, good food and service. Personable. Would've stayed longer had I more time.

Yelp
A Philadelphia staple! I have been going to this place for years and it never disappoints. Drinks are always cold and the vibe is always hot. The young bartender Victoria is so personable and always crafting fun drinks and shots. Kathy is a longtime favorite of mine, a true Bonners icon. This place is open late and always has a great crowd- a balanced mix of regulars, penn athletics, and anyone looking for a good beer or bite to eat. A few beers on draft and an extensive collection of bottled and canned beer/seltzers. The food is quite tasty and the menu features a different homemade soup every day! If you're a local or visiting Philly, stop in- you won't be disappointed!!

Yelp
Danny Bonner ruined my trip to Philly. I took 3 days off work and spent hundreds of dollars to go to Bonners for the 2023 Super Bowl. I was assured that if we showed up 5 hours before the game, we could at least STAND by the bar (we got there at 1:30 for a 6:30 game). When we arrived, the bar was quiet. The owner, Danny, gave to wrist bands and a place to stand. As we stood next to empty "reserved" tables, we stayed positive, even though we had tried to reserve a table two weeks prior. At least Danny told us we had a place to watch the game. Danny Bonner lied. By 5:30, we had racked up a sizable tab and tolerated Danny's inappropriate comments toward our female Birds fans. Then, a bar tender apologized for Danny Bonner's behavior before telling us there was no standing room and we were no longer welcome. By the time we left, every other Philly bar was packed to capacity. So... my days off work, money for flights, and commitment to Bonners ended with me watching the Super Bowl the same way I would've in any other city--on a couch. At least Danny didn't grab any of the guy's asses.

Yelp
Our softball group has been coming to Bonner's for a few years, they were so clutch during the pandemic and continue to provide amazing personal service even if we have to skip a few weeks. Cathy is on a first name basis with many of us, and remembers our orders before we even get seated, then makes sure we have whatever we need the whole night. Bonner's is very authentic Philly...also not overpriced despite a great central location.

Yelp
We popped in this local neighbor hood bar for a quick bite. There's a ton of outdoor seating which is nice if you have a big group and the food menu was ok. The service was super friendly and very accommodating even to our pup. Their draft list was better than their food menu IMO. I will note that we ordered the chicken parm sandwich and when we tried it, it was made from what I believe was beef bolognese. As someone that doesn't wat beef, I was pretty disappointed that this wasn't specified on the menu especially since that isn't typical of that type of sandwich.

Yelp
A group of around 30 have a annual crawl through the city including a football game and Bonners was able to accommodate all of us with a wonderful buffet that was done seamlessly Dan Band his crew saw to everything and made us very comfortable. I would highly recommend this establishment.

daniel h.

Yelp
Cool space. Irish name on the outside, but looks like an Italian restaurant inside with the red and white checkered table cloths. The island bar is old school.

Lisa S.

Yelp
What a great spot! Bonner's is a great local bar/restaurant, people are extremely friendly, they treat you like family! If you've been there once, they'll remember you. Food is well done! You can't go wrong with a trip to Bonner's!

Yelp
Great local pub, Kathy's a local legend. No better place to drink a tower of Miller Lite in Philly!
google avatar

Brett C.

Yelp
Kathy was such a fun server! Great place to grab a drink and bite (pizza is mid) table shuffleboard is a huge plus

Yelp
Kathy and the crew were the shit! Perfect welcome to Philly and best first spot to hit coming right off the Amtrak station on 30th. 10/10 recommend!

Yelp
What an awesome lunch! Have lived at the AKA building for several years and recently stopped in for an amazing lunch! Super clean, friendly staff and so delicious! The menu is vast with many offerings that would satisfy any palette! The owner and bartender "V", were most friendly and inviting!! You wont be disappointed!! Taitneamh a bhaint as do chuid béile!!

Yelp
Bonner's Irish Pub (120 S 23rd St Philadelphia, PA) recently catered a fabulous annual dinner for our professional, international group of over 125 persons at the nearby 23rd Street Armory. Dan B. and his terrific staff expertly handled all of the event details and choreography: from the room set-up (and break-down) to the delicious buffet dinner. It was an exquisite, enchanting evening, and Bonner's made it feel like a grand dinner party at Hearst Castle. I highly recommend Bonner's to cater your next event! Ted D.

Yelp
Thanks Bonners for teaching me to hate Philadelphia. I grew up an Eagles fan in West Virginia. I had never been before the 2023 Super Bowl. I was lucky, a friend told me he had a place for me to stay and a bar for me to go. The bar was Bonners. We arrived at Bonners at 2 pm, 4 hours before the game, hoping for a table but content with standing room only. We were given wristband and given an area to stand. The energy was electric, I was finally in Philly, and it was the Super Bowl. Then 4 pm came around, and despite the owner giving my group a place to stand, and a wristband, and us having already wracked up a $100 bar tap. Then at 4 pm, we were kicked out. No explanation, besides hearing from a male bartender that the area was reserved for owner's friends. We had inquired 2 weeks before about a reservation and were denied. So here I am, having traveled across the country for Philly with the super bowl, with nowhere to go. I hate this city, but even more I hate Bonners, specifically the owner. -As you can now see, the POS owner is too lazy to address concerns individually and would rather copy and paste responses. Don't go there, this old bag can't run a restaurant and should've retired 50 years ago!
google avatar

Rose M.

Yelp
Bonners is exceptional and it always has been . Staff makes you feel like family and the food is great. The bank doesn't break either !

M B.

Yelp
Were promised seats for superbowl but were we told wouldn't get a table. Spent 200$. We were "allowed" to stand but kicked out 1 hour before the superbowl started with no warning. The owner (grey hair, mustache literally said "go f*** yourselves". I'm pretty easy to please but have NEVER been treated this way. The worst part was that ALL OF the bartenders were so nice and apologetic. We could hear him yelling at all of them before kicking us out. Can't justify supporting this owner.
google avatar

Garrett O.

Yelp
Bonner's is a great bar for folks looking to check out a locally-owned, "neighborhood" pub! They show all the Philly sports games, and the staff is extremely friendly. They've got several draft beers, including Guinness (my favorite for ~$6) and Yuengling (~$3.50), and a lot of apps and small bites to choose from. Bonner's is definitely a Wharton-student favorite spot, as they're especially accommodating for big groups, happy hours, and "after pub" events on Thursdays.

Benjamin G.

Yelp
Our server Kathy was a hoot and a half! Super low key Irish pub vibes with a great shuffle board

Jason T.

Yelp
Great time last night. A group of us went over to Bonner's to get away from the Sips crowds. Cathy took great care of us. Sat outside on the picnic tables. Great wings. Will be back!

Yelp
Corner pub within walking distance of Rittenhouse area and hotels. Reasonable paid parking on 24th, just couple hundred feet away, if needed. WARMEST, most friendly staff AND customers we've found in Philly. If you leave without knowing a few names you've done something wrong. Menu has bar food, soups, fish & chips, plenty of sandwiches, burgers etc, even poutine! Although they call it something weird in Philly. I think you'll find something for all tastes. I will be back, and back, and back until they 86 me out of the place, then I'll come back in disguise. We had great service and food and I tipped appropriately. Nothing crazy, but just a little generous. Bartender made a trip over to come up and thank me. Now, where does that happen? This place. Just a great place. Great people.
google avatar

James P.

Yelp
Cool spot, Thank you maddog pavement! Parking, parking, parking, that is all I will say about parking, or lack there of. I loved the place and people but liked the cheesesteak. It was very tasty and had great meat/roll/fried onions, mushrooms ratios but it was small. It did come with french fries and was under $10. They had a nice lunch crowd and the specials sounded great!

Paul C.

Yelp
Not too many places in Center City make great sandwiches, offer great bar service, and feels authentically Philly. Bartenders Mike and Kathy are on top of their games. Take Kathy's advice on what to order if you're hungry. She'll take care of you. Owner Dan will share some stories you'll have a hard time believing. But, guess what? They're real. Just like Bonners.
google avatar

Tara F.

Yelp
WE LOVE BONNERS! Our go to place for some comfort food and the staff is always so lovely and welcoming. We love their roast beef sandwhich and their French fries. Also their French onion soup is just delish. Support local!!

Michael M.

Yelp
I was at Bonners for the Super Bowl and it was incredible. The service was awesome despite how packed it was. We had a reservation and a very large group and the staff was very accommodating. Can't wait for next year when we get to watch at Bonners again. Hopefully they win next time.

Jack A.

Yelp
Food is wonderful. Drinks are cold. Service is AWESOME!!!! Thx to Dan Bonner for taking care of all our Cardinal Dougherty/ B & Olney guys Saturday night.

Michael D.

Yelp
We had a large group and a reservation for the Super Bowl. Service was great, bartenders were quick, and the food was awesome! Despite the game we all had a great time at Bonner's! Can't wait to get back!

Conor C.

Yelp
Great neighborhood bar. Had a group of about 15 get together for an afternoon of beer and sports. From the management to the bartenders and servers, everyone is welcoming and genuinely glad to have you. Highly recommend
google avatar

Mali W.

Yelp
Really good place to stop by for a bar top lunch. Moderate prices and quality food. I got the French onion soup and it was very well made with a hardy amount of onions and cheese. My friend got the Sheppards pie which he thought was delicious and had a great ratio of meat to potatoes. Bonners was quiet and cozy and I would definitely stop by again if in the area.
google avatar

Rachel S.

Yelp
This is my favorite place ever. Cute inside. Fabulous drinks. Great service too! Thanks Dan! I'm from Cleveland and this will always be a stop when I'm in Philadelphia. And clean restrooms.

Yelp
My husband and I worked closely with Dan when planning our wedding at the 23rd Street Armory. Dan is a dream to work with. Responsive, honest and down to earth. He put together an incredible cocktail hour and a lovely buffet (the mini cheesesteaks stole the show- my guests are STILL talking about them 2 years later). He and his staff are professional, attentive and friendly. Not only was Dan our caterer, but he also helped orchestrate the big day. He worked tirelessly with the other vendors (we had food trucks as well) to make sure everything ran smoothly. Dan was instrumental in planning the wedding and keeping me sane :) We held our brunch the morning after at Bonner's Pub. The food was delicious- like eating a home-cooked meal and the drinks were strong. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. We enjoyed our wedding experience so much that we recently went back to Bonner's Pub to celebrate our son's dedication. Dan put together a lovely spread. Brunch was delicious. Good beer selection. Great bloody mary's. It was relaxed, unhurried and comfortable. Working with Dan again was like meeting up with an old friend. Whether you're looking for a caterer to help plan an event or a cozy pub to have a good beer in, I'd highly recommend Bonner's.
