Go to the Local Grocery Store When You’re on Vacation | Eater

"A discount-market chain in Iceland that’s perfect for budget-conscious travelers looking to sample everyday local food: during a Golden Circle road trip it was the source for generic crackers, Icelandic cheese spread, and potato chips emblazoned with the word “Snakk” and a deranged-looking piggy bank on the bag. Its low prices and ordinary-stocked shelves offer a revealing, thriftier window into how locals shop and eat." - Brenna Houck

Despite many customers, only one or at most two cash registers open. Lots of people want to pay in cash, but the store forces payment by card (there are many more unmanned checkouts than open regular ones). Queues of tourists and, above all, pseudo refugees, who receive almost everything from the state for free and are constantly brawling. The store is definitely too small for such a number of customers. Nevertheless, most prices are the lowest in Iceland. If you have time, I recommend the second bonus in the city center. Edit: During a recent shopping spree, I was served by a dark-skinned young guy in a gray hoodie. He did not respond to good morning, please, thank you, or goodbye. And when giving change, he threw the money around like he was throwing away trash. A total lack of culture. I advise you to avoid this store and go at least to Kronan on the other side of the parking lot.

One of the first supermarkets you pass when leaving the airport and entering Iceland. Not too expensive. great place to get your snacks, drinks, candy for affordable prices

The least expensive place to purchase groceries in Iceland-full of American tourists. However, pass on Iceland; if you haven’t made plans skip this place!

Always come here as first stop when leaving airport, decent sized store with a good range of produce at competitive prices. There's also a krónan next door if for some reason you can't find what you want in here. Also pizza shop outside. Free parking.

I will say this: today a man in a shop had a seizure, the shop staff did not react to it. buyers (Poles) intervened shame and disgrace for the shop

During our trip to Iceland, we decided not to dine out at any restaurants to save money for activities. Instead, we opted for a more budget-friendly approach. We purchased ingredients from the supermarket called Bonus, which is known for its affordability, and made our own sandwiches and quick meals for the day. We also cooked our own meals at our Airbnb to save even more money. Additionally, we highly recommend buying alcohol from the duty-free shop, as it is much cheaper than purchasing it from Vinbudin, the only alcohol store in Iceland. In fact, Vinbudin is three times more expensive than the duty-free shop. By stocking up on groceries from Bonus and buying alcohol from the duty-free shop, we were able to save a significant amount of money and allocate it towards exciting activities instead. In the video is a Bonus with 8 Tesla superchargers in Akureyri.

Very good supermarket with reasonable prices and a good selection of food. There are also other shops in the same corner, so it's just a nice place to stock up on supplies when you want to travel Iceland.
