Oh Bonvivant! How I love you so :)
This was my first time in Paris. I hopped a plane and came here without much of an agenda, minus wanting to eat and drink all of the yummy things and find some fun adventures along the way. Not really knowing anyone, or the city or the language, on my second night I ended up in the 10éme with a new friend who had to get up early. Still jet lagged and wired, I yelped to see what was around my Airbnb and this place popped up. I ubered over and rolled in after midnight and was instantly greeted by a warm and welcoming reception thanks to Maxime, Lucas and the owner, Peter.
As soon as I sat down, I felt right at home. The owner asked me where I had been so far and I showed him places on my IG and he grabbed my phone and patched me onto their WiFi without even asking. Awesome. When I started describing the kind of cocktail I wanted, Maxime jumped to the helm and whipped me up a delicious bourbon and ginger cocktail. Delightful. When I realized this was also a wine bar, Lucas jumped in and introduced me to a Merlot that knocked my socks off. For night number two in a strange town, I was hooked!
A few days later after walking all over the city, I decided to come back here and grab a glass of wine around 4pm. I didn't leave til they closed. This place is just one of those bars. You'll get sucked in and you'll never want to leave. It's easy to just chill, nibble on some charcuterie, drink glass after glass of delicious wine, chat it up with locals and it is a must hit for any future French adventures! Also, the space itself is adorable. If I had figured out a better way to steal that huge Bonvivants wall poster near the bathroom and shove it into my suitcase, I would have, but alas, they can keep it so you can enjoy it too! Haha :)
Oh and as a bonus, Maxime has a stellar collection of infused Rums that are super tasty. I was a big fan of the cherry one and the mint. They also have a great selection of other spirits and of course, fantastic wines!
Give it a whirl and tell the boys I say hi!
