Bonvivant Paris – A True Gem Bonvivant is a fantastic find in Paris. The wine selection is excellent, featuring both local and unique bottles that pair beautifully with their delicious food. Every dish we tried was full of flavor and thoughtfully prepared. The atmosphere is cozy yet vibrant—perfect for a casual dinner with friends or a romantic night out. Friendly staff and great energy all around. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy good wine, great food, and an authentic Parisian vibe.

Google
Great experience at Bonvivant! Lovely atmosphere and an excellent selection of wine. We arrived just a few minutes before the kitchen closed, but the staff still welcomed us warmly. The food was exquisite—especially the breaded pork chop, which was a standout. The menu has plenty of tempting options, so I’m definitely planning to come back. We were a group of three, each had a starter and a main, along with a bottle of wine for all of us, and the total came to about €55 per person—well worth it!

Google
Fantastic meal. Enjoyed it very, very much. Had charcuterie and cheese, duck hearts, rib steak, pork chop, and puff pastry asparagus. Plus delicious beer and wine. Only thing I wish we had done was make a reservation to sit outside. The inside was hot.

Google
Amazing little restaurant in Paris. The beef was outstanding and the wine really good too. Really good value in my opinion. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The place does get busy so get in quick or book. Definitely recommend

Google
I had the Wagyu steak Normandy and it was not the expected. The steak wasn’t tasted as Wagyu and it’s wasn’t tender at all. Too expensive for the quality of the steak. I was there two years ago and was completely different… The wine selection is amazing. I like the place, the service and the vibe are really good.

Google
Amazing bustling bistro with delicious food and a great wine selection. We had a fish and a steak dish - both were excellent. The service was friendly and there was just a good vibe in this restaurant. Absolutely a place to return to in the 5th.

Google
Wonderful neighborhood bistro with a fantastic wine list. Our server was fantastic and very personable. Exception food, great atmosphere, tough to beat.

Google
Really cute spot with the most incredible wine list. Seating is like most Parisian restaurants - very tight quarters. Service was decent.

Yelp
Very good wine selection. OK food. Table service was very, very slow. Person at bar was helpful and efficient. Beef matured 50 days 1.5 Kg, homemade fries - just OK, pretty tough. Plenty of food to share.

Yelp
This is my wife's favorite spot in all of Paris. We had a delicious bottle of Chablis and a charcuterie spread that we loved. The guys working we're so kind (and funny) and we wish we could have come here everyday!

Yelp
Oh Bonvivant! How I love you so :) This was my first time in Paris. I hopped a plane and came here without much of an agenda, minus wanting to eat and drink all of the yummy things and find some fun adventures along the way. Not really knowing anyone, or the city or the language, on my second night I ended up in the 10éme with a new friend who had to get up early. Still jet lagged and wired, I yelped to see what was around my Airbnb and this place popped up. I ubered over and rolled in after midnight and was instantly greeted by a warm and welcoming reception thanks to Maxime, Lucas and the owner, Peter. As soon as I sat down, I felt right at home. The owner asked me where I had been so far and I showed him places on my IG and he grabbed my phone and patched me onto their WiFi without even asking. Awesome. When I started describing the kind of cocktail I wanted, Maxime jumped to the helm and whipped me up a delicious bourbon and ginger cocktail. Delightful. When I realized this was also a wine bar, Lucas jumped in and introduced me to a Merlot that knocked my socks off. For night number two in a strange town, I was hooked! A few days later after walking all over the city, I decided to come back here and grab a glass of wine around 4pm. I didn't leave til they closed. This place is just one of those bars. You'll get sucked in and you'll never want to leave. It's easy to just chill, nibble on some charcuterie, drink glass after glass of delicious wine, chat it up with locals and it is a must hit for any future French adventures! Also, the space itself is adorable. If I had figured out a better way to steal that huge Bonvivants wall poster near the bathroom and shove it into my suitcase, I would have, but alas, they can keep it so you can enjoy it too! Haha :) Oh and as a bonus, Maxime has a stellar collection of infused Rums that are super tasty. I was a big fan of the cherry one and the mint. They also have a great selection of other spirits and of course, fantastic wines! Give it a whirl and tell the boys I say hi!

Yelp
We stumbled into here for dinner last night and sat at the bar with cocktails before dinner. The bartenders were super friendly and helpful. The mojito was delicious. We started with the burrata and tomato appetizer which was delicious and light. For dinner I went with the rib eye. It was a bit fatty but still good with the green sauce. For sides they only offer French fries. I asked for a side salad instead. They served me plain lettuce which was odd. We ordered a fantastic bottle of wine with dinner, Violetta - a full bodied red. At the end of our meal the waiter offered us infused rums on the House. We went with the strawberry and grapefruit. Both were great for sipping and flavorful.

Yelp
Don't let the description fool you as bonvivant is more than just a wine bar. They have a lovely dinner menu with options that were just delightful. The service was so sweet with everyone giving us hints and insights in french and English. An English menu was available for us as well. The lamb shank was one of the best that I have ever had. Wine, desserts, beer, service, everything was great.

Yelp
Friday night at this place in the Latin Quarter is crazy but in a very good way. The staff is friendly and the crowd is a great blend of the young and the not so young. Great bevs and wonderful food. The piece de resistance is the dessert: brioche. So good that we came back every night of our stay in Paris. We befriended the staff and the conversations were absolutely of the kind that one has with old friends. This place is now in my Rolodex.

Yelp
I was in Paris for 4 days recently and stopped at Bonvivant 3 times. That's pretty solid praise in my book. Considering it was located close to where I was staying it made sense to give it a shot for happy hour. Beers were 5e and cocktails 7e during happy hour (daily) so it's a great deal. There's outdoor seating, and if that's full, the bar area is basically outdoors as it opens up to the outside. The staff was fantastic too. They were very friendly and fast (all spoke English as well if you're worried about that). The food seemed to be more of an appetizer/lunch selection. I had a charcuterie board which was good. Definitely stop by for happy hour if in the area!

Yelp
I was expecting something a bit more exceptional food-wise,but still found it very good.the staff is indeed delightful.Hummus as an appetizer is fantastic!I had Caponata and it was delicious, however I found taglioni not that amazing, but still rather good. I wonder if meat dishes are better?!Brioche for desert is a definite must,it is fantastic. Lovely decor and a great place overall.

Yelp
I always have a good meal here. The spirits and menu are quality with fun twists and some good classics. Service is always polite and ones lack of French is not a problem. Every time I am in town It is a fun place to gather with friends or eat alone. English menu is available. Fun young crowd usually in attendance.

Yelp
Good energy here. Accentuated by the stormy weather (torrential rain, lightening and thunder) outside the crowd was positive and conversational, not quite in ignorance of the televised sports mounted high, but it didn't seem to matter next to other things going on in the establishment. I had the 7-spiced Moroccan lamb shank with quinoa-dried berry medley side. Very tasty and exotic. More than one patron ordered the steak and fries with chimichurri. I'll get that next time!

Yelp
We stumbled across this gem of a wine bar / restaurant and could have stayed until closing. Of course the wines were superb, but the real difference is the young, engaging and knowledgable staff. They could not have been more helpful and informative and were fluent in English. Whew. The food was also wonderful.

Yelp
One of the best places we ate at during our week in Paris. Extremely friendly staff and delicious food and wine. The charcuterie board is definitely worth starting with. Besides a great wine selection, they also have fruit infused rums which are delicious. Also, highly recommend the French toast for dessert, you will not be disappointed.

Yelp
Live in queens NY. Came to Bonvivant as an american who doesn't speak french, I felt at home when I met Lucas ask for him he's the man. Great wine and great vibes. Burgers were fire. Come here if your in Paris and want something authentic and real. If your from the states you know what I'm talking about. Ask for my guy Lucas he'll take care of you.

Yelp
Just had the lamb shank with quinoa. My best meal so far in Paris. Very friendly wait staff, trendy far beyond many restaurants in the area. Five thumbs up. You rock Bonvivant!!!!

Yelp
Bonvivant is amazingly awesome! We were a party of 12 so they gave us a wine cave to ourselves. They even allowed us to use their BOSE speaker which was so much fun because we catered the music to our party. The food was delicious as well...GET THE LAMB SHANK! It will always be on my places to eat when in Paris! Valentine and his colleagues went above and beyond to make our birthday celebration amazing!!! And the wine is to die for! Amazing! Amazing! Amazing!

Yelp
Turned into a student dive bar: Several years ago when Bonvivant first opened I was very pleased. The neighborhood needed something fresh, a little hip, and not a student hangout. Unfortunately it has begun to attract a student crowd, keen on drinking and taking over the bar area. Sadly noisy and as is often is the case their enthusiasm becomes an obnoxious sense of entitlement. If you find it without the student crowd I would recommend it, but your enjoyment may be abruptly shattered. Shame as the owner and folks that work there are rather nice.

Yelp
Our best meal in Paris! Our only complaint was we were there the hottest week in Paris this summer. AC would've been great, but a fan would've been really nice too. We had a fish entree that was outstanding!

Yelp
Excellent wine list both by glass (2 sizes) and by bottle. Wonderful food both for a quick wine accompaniment (charcuterie plate, cheese plate, seafood plate, ...) or for a full meal. Ate last night and had an asparagus carpaccio with Parmesan starter an amazing burger hand chopped like a steak tartare with red peppers and cheese and a "French toast" (pain perdu) desert which was amazing. Even the coffee is exceptional! Excellent service by people who are passionate about their food and wine. Beautiful surroundings.

Yelp
This was our first dinner in Paris. This place has a dive bar type of feeling. We were seated in the back where it was more quiet/intimate Service Our waiter was nice. There was a small language barrier, but nothing major. My only disappointment with the service was that he forgot many things from our order specifically the food and completely forgot our drinks Environment Antique decoration Low lights and intimate in the back Music and bar scene in the front If need a last minute spot this is an ok place. They are plenty of other restaurants in the same street with larger variation of food and better service

Yelp
Food and wine were excellent- place was packed for a Tuesday night. Great flavors and creative dishes.

Yelp
Great restaurant in the Latin Quarter. Service was good and my lack of french was not an issue there. My steak and frites was as good as you would expect. The ambience was great and the place was very popular. Compared to other places I ate in Paris it was a bit pricey for what you got.

Lori K.

Yelp
This was a fabulous experience. We came for wine and they made an excellent recommendation. They also have homemade flavored rum- they even shared it with us. They spoke with us, laughed with us, played great music. I would definitely come back.

Jessa A.

Yelp
Such a fantastic experience! The staff was lovely and each dish was divine. It was easy to tell the ingredients were locally sourced and thoughtfully prepared. The house rum is a must try! We will definitely be returning here on our next trip to Paris.

Yelp
Fabulous and amazing happy hour...cool vibe. Our server was adorable, friendly and very helpful. Phenomenal selection of great-priced wines. We will return.

Yelp
The staff was very friendly and attentive and was able to accommodate our party of 6 (including 2 kids) dinner even though we didn't have a reservation. The food was excellent. We started with a shrimp appetizer that was delicious. I had a steak, and others had the salmon, beef tartare. The kids had a hamburger. The desserts were equally great. We had the rice pudding, chocolate cake and apple tart. Will definitely be returning to this place on our next trip to Paris.

Yelp
The wine bar patrons seemed to be having a really good time. Staff responsive. I had tagine lamb shank, cooked very slowly. It was very sweet-sauced, like a US Memphis-style red sauce poured from a supermarket bottle. Shank had been sitting in the pot a bit too long, with predictable results.

Yelp
Bonvivant is AWESOME! It's an adorable neighborhood-y bistro that was created a couple years ago by three friends from Paris. They have a (much) shorter wine list than somewhere like Comptoir du Relais, but it's the same vibe--lots of inexpensive options, great wines by the glass, and a big emphasis on quirky and cool producers who they know personally. The food is consistently excellent and simple. The Incontournables section of the menu is MEAT, and it is a great steak tartare (better than Les Antiquaires, for example), a very good entrecote (the menu says "Selected by Yves Billot," the master butcher), a fork-tender lamb shank with a pomegranate sauce, and an excellent double cheese burger (if you like smoked bacon and St Nectaire). Everything is cool--from the funky music playing loudly (Fela Kuti, vintage Caribbean, bebop) to the bread (the tourte from Eric Kayser's original location down the block) to the sausages (both some of the dried sausages and cured meats on the A Partager menu and some of the sausages in the Plats are made by a friend of one of the restaurateurs, who cures his own meats and makes his own sausages in the Auvergne, in south-central France). Desserts are also great--the French toast (pain perdu) is a mountain of creamy, buttery dessert bread with salted butter caramel. Plus, everyone who works there seems to speak at least three languages! Go! and don't forget to be friendly.
