Boom Bap Burger Bethnal Green

The food was okay: we got the plant-based cheeseburger (a bit dry), buffalo cauliflower (not enough sauce), sweet potato and regular fries. Service was friendly albeit a little slow. What I did NOT like was that I was charged at extra £3.5 for the plant based patty! That’s the charge they have for an EXTRA patty….I didn’t get two patties only one, but paid this premium for the veggie patty. Doesn’t really seem right

Travelling on business to East London, I fancied a burger and dropped into Boom Bap in Bethnal Green. I should note, that I tried earlier in the day to book a table online. There was no availability showing. I called later in the late afternoon/early evening to see if there was a table. No answer to the phone. When I went along to see if I could get a seat, the place was empty and was so for my whole visit. Like the weather outside, the experience left me cold. The burger was okay but not memorable. The loaded fries were truly disastrous. Soggy and cold beneath the loading, these fries were not fresh and must have been hanging around for a while. Too often I find burger bars think that a hot loading of items onto cold fries, will make them like new. It doesn’t. It makes them soggy. Make the guest some fresh fries. Cool name. Graffiti on the walls to give it an edge. But it’s just a passable burger.

Great spot hidden from the main street. Ambiance is great and staff was very kind. The burger lacked seasoning, but overall everything was fresh and ready in a few minutes!

I don't know if it's because we came at almost 3pm on a Monday but our whole experience was lacking There were only 3 other tables along with ours. The place was not busy. Despite this our food took entirely way too long to come out and when it finally did it was lukewarm at best. This is a shame. The burgers had dried out, the toasted buns now were no longer and the fries cold. The chicken burger had tons of flavor and I'm sure it would have been even better if it was hot. The chili cheese fries had lots of flavor but again if the fries were hotter it would have just added to the whole dish. The croquettes were both tepid and dry on the inside. Our server was pleasant and accommodating but should have checked in on us at least once since the food took so long or even while we were eating so that I could have provided feedback. Massive positive was that they had both vegetarian and vegan options. They were very accommodating of my daughters in l food intolerances.

Amazing food. I highly recommend the Notorious BIG! Drinks were solid (regular happy hours) and everything came out super quick. Faye was a star: warm and friendly service 🍔🍹😋

Service with a smile. Great food So what can I say…. In London doing some training and thought I would pop in for a burger as it’s next door to the hotel I’m stopping at. Was met at the door by an employee, smiling and friendly, just what you want when you look like a bully no mates lol. Food arrived and at first I thought thats not much.. how wrong I was.. the burger was a proper burger, juicy, tasty and delicious. Not like your normal “pub grub” Drink. London boom Bap IPA also tasted fabulous, fresh and with a slight tang (in a good way!). Few more people have arrived now and I’m glad to say that everyone has been greeted in the same way. Although it’s very quite (is it’s very early 1700 on a Monday). I’ve still given the atmosphere a 4 due to must not being too loud and a general happy feel. Even when collecting the empty plates there’s a smile. I’m sure it would be a 5 if I was here at the peak times Several people have been asked “how’s the food”. And instead of the normal it’s ok/good, All I’m hearing is “it’s lovely” “great thank you” “very nice” etc. Highly recommend this place if you want a great tasty burger and some fry’s. Keep up the great work guys
