Boom Noodle

i know i know... this is one of those funny places on capital hill that gets made fun of but i LOVE it. they have a diverse enough menu to make almost anyone happy but not so many options that it's impossible to know what to order. the staff is always super helpful and this new rebirth of the old boom was the right decision in my opinion. it's classic asian fusion in a lovely space with great open air dining in the summer. one of my favorite places on the hill and i for one am so happy for it to be back and to be supporting it! i was in on day 2 of the reopening and they were so gracious to have enthusiastic clientele. the menu is mostly the same but they brought in some of their street food experiments and they are a win for sure! smaller portions than the normal dishes here so maybe order them to share or as an appetizer but very great flavor combos. keep being creative! welcome back boom!

Their spicy beef udon soup is delicious when you're sick and craving something of sustenance. The atmosphere is pleasant, kind of high energy because it's in a busy part of the neighborhood, but that isn't a bad thing. I've only had one of their cocktails and it was surprisingly not to my taste -- too much cinnamon. They're good for food, though!

I enjoyed my experience here! I went in for lunch and had the beef pho and it was really yummy. The other dishes I saw coming out looked delicious as well, and I'll definitely be back. I liked the vibe of the place, and I thought the service and the price were both fair.

Perhaps going in before 10pm would've been better, They placed us next to the bar, didn't swing by to offer more drinks or items past the initial order. I would've been able to dine-and-dash if I didn't have any scruples. I waited 20 minutes after we finished. It's like they didn't know whose turn it was to take an order/get our drinks/get our food/offer us more/take our money. Maybe they wanted to close early or cater to the Whitey Hipster crowd.

i don't get the appeal of this place. the decor is ok but the food is generally pretty rough. they always have a line on weekends though. i think it has something to do with the place being trendy. actually most 'trendy' places in seattle are not known for their food quality. i miss the midwest.

I'm only sorry I can't give it less than a star. I've been a fan since they had a location in Bellevue, but the place now stinks figuratively and literally. My daughter and I had a ritual of going there to share our favorite dish. Alas, they now have this crappy very limited lunch menu. We will now need a new father/daughter lunch ritual.

Beware the Tokyo ramen. It tastes like they don't drain the bamboo shoots, and throw in all the fluid from the can right into the broth. Horribly foul! On the other hand, they were really nice about it and promptly brought me a bowl of kimchi ramen, which was pretty damn tasty.

Noodles are just average and overpriced. If you want good authentic noodles, go somewhere else. The chain is successful, but I think I don't fit into their target market.
