The 31 Best Places To Eat & Stay In Sydney - Sydney - The Infatuation

"A fun spot in Haymarket (at the top end of the city), Boon Cafe is a Thai restaurant inside a grocery store. You could head here for a breakfast of crab congee, baked eggs with smoked fish, and pandan custard toast, plus a matcha or turmeric latte. Or you could come for a lunch of rice bowls, spicy noodles, and sandwiches. Either way, don’t leave without wandering through the aisles and buying something sweet for later." - caroline clements 33

Incredible restaurant and small store in the middle of the city. The seats were very comfortable, relaxing, and nice to sit on after lots of walking. The chair and table were very clean, with no crumbs, leftover food, or any stickiness like in bars—the table was pristine. The food was delicious, tasted like I was in Bangkok, and the menu is huge as well with plenty of food and drinks. Coconut water was fresh and delicious, like in Thailand. The grocery store had plenty of authentic Thai snacks, seasoning, spices, drinks, and others. They have seaweed, the same as in Thailand, and lots of Asia!

Thai authentic food that you can find in Sydney! The smell and taste are almost 100% like Thai! Special Recommendation menu is Pad Thai and Nam Tok Moo. Both tasted 100% like Thai style. The owner is so generous that she treated us like home! And staffs are also helpful and kind as well. Definitely, we will come back here again!

Chill place with both fine in and takeaway plus it has an Asian/Thai grocery store inside. Standout was the mushrooms with basil sourdough breakkie.

This café has a warm and cozy atmosphere with great food at a very good value. I tried the basil stir-fried minced pork with crispy fried egg and century egg — flavorful and authentic. The breakfast set with pan eggs, grilled pork, congee, and toast was hearty and satisfying. A nice place for both a proper meal and a relaxing café experience. #genastar

the staff were quite friendly and service was generally attentive. However, the food took a long time to be served. We ordered four dishes and one drink, but had to wait over 20 minutes before anything arrived. It was a bit disappointing, especially since the food didn’t suit my taste. The Pad Thai was too sweet for me, even after I added lime to balance it out. I wouldn’t recommend it to those who don’t enjoy sweet flavors. The other dishes were quite spicy, which I understand is typical for Thai cuisine, but overall the experience wasn’t very satisfying for me. That said, the sticky rice was surprisingly good, served hot and perfectly chewy. It was definitely the highlight of the meal.

Read about this place online and it was really close to the hotel I was staying at. The food was simply amazing, not very knowledgeable with Thai cuisine but it tasted great to me. I tried two things and a Thai iced tea. The tea was unlike anything i have tried before. Simple and really delicious. The soup that i got with the breakfast was really thick and yummy. Everything was just perfect. Good food and great atmosphere. If you are around the CBD, this place is a must try. I will definitely be coming back the next time I come to Sydney.

For me one of the tastiest thai places to eat at! resonably priced, large menu, great drinks- lovely matcha and coffee! Wouldn't get the spring rolls as they were mostly glass vermicilli and little meat. Generous with the salad but. Noodle soups are always delicious.

visited 16/08/25 — i was really excited to try the food, given my friends’ raving reviews. however, i was left sorely disappointed by what we had. 1. stir fried chinese kale and crisp pork belly on rice ($24): flavour was okay, tad on the saltier side. pork belly was really dry and tough — tasted old. rice was an average steamed rice. egg was nicely done 2. pad si ew ($22): lacking flavour, overcooked noodles — it was not what we were expecting and i think it’s quite apparent from the picture 3. matcha strawberry: was the only good item we had, nice strong matcha flavour, smooth, with a good balance of sweetness and nice addition of strawberry. overall a harmonious blend
