"Mirroring its clean and simple aesthetic, Brot (German for bread) serves unpretentious German food done right. Teeming with purple cabbage and haus-made kraut, this might be the most beautiful hamburger in the county. Chef Crista Luedtke also slings classics like Bavarian pretzels, spatzle with speck, schnitzel, and wurst plates. Fresh salat with little gems or kohlrabi and apple nicely balance the meat, which is mostly organic and locally procured." - Jess D. Taylor

Okay so I just found my new favorite restaurant in Sonoma county. The food was absolutely scrumptious and hit the spot. I have never had a better mac n cheese than their mushroom Mac n cheese. I cannot wait to return!

Google
Very disappointing. Ordered a few appetizers: 1. Summer salad - watermelon / melon and buratta. Felt like Safeway fruit cup mixed with some chili powder. 2. Truffle fries - were ok. A little bit on a soggy side but ok. 3. Mains: - halibut - cooked beautifully but was sitting on a bed of watery soggy veggies. - pork shoulder with polenta - not bad but honestly a local Mexican joint would deliver the same flavors for the half price. 4. Dessert- bread pudding. It was again ok, nothing to remember.

Came and put our name on the waitlist. They had an annex next door with seating as well. There were big group tables which was nice. Steak was cooked a bit under what was asked for but tasted well. Company liked the Mac and cheese though I thought it was a hit creamy. I liked that we could buy a round of beers for the kitchen.

was busy on Saturday evening, especially like the brussle sprouts, the polenta lasagne was nice too, but the greens below the polenta was a bit too garlicy. staff was super friendly:)

Boon + Drink in Guerneville is a stylish spot offering great cocktails and a well-curated wine list. The atmosphere is modern yet cozy, making it ideal for a relaxing evening. Friendly service and high-quality drinks make it a must-visit in town!

Google
If you are visiting the area, this is a must go for dinner. It's a small bistro style restaurant. Not very many seats which makes it cozy and quaint. The service is amazing. they are always smiling. The food is phenomenal. Small menu and at the same time a lot of choices. Great vegetarian options!

Google
Mediocre at best, NOT farm to table as they claim on their website or tasty at all. Skip it and eat somewhere else even though the area lacks many options. We had the arugula salad (lacked any substantial amount of the ingredients it claimed to have on the menu). The truffle potato fries were burnt oil overcooked and the sauce tasted nothing like aioli. The skirt steak lacked any kind of seasoning, the meat was edible. Service was great, she checked up on us and was super nice. The place looked clean yet small and loud. I am not sure how it has 4.5 stars but I wouldn’t eat here again and recommend you don’t do it even once.

Google
Agree with some of the other reviewers that this place is trying to pull something off and just not succeeding. All our food felt very oily and the entrees came out SO quickly it’s hard to believe they were freshly cooked. We had a pasta with courgette and the courgette was in such massive chunks the edges were lightly charred but it was raw in the inside. I guess Guerneville isn’t a town with a tonne of competition but I felt like the food I saw posted on their Instagram didn’t match up at all to what we received. The portions were generous however

Yelp
Had two meals on a recent visit to the Russian River area. Had the little gems salad both visits - simple, delicious fresh little gems dressed in a green goddess style creamy dressing and accented with chopped Marcona almonds, chopped dried black olives and a little avocado. Really nice, tasty, balanced salad. Also had the seared black cod and thoroughly enjoyed it. Perfectly cooked (though, of course, hard to overcook black cod). Served atop some largeish white beans that were perfectly seasoned and a "fennel broth" with small bits of fennel in a simple but delicious broth. Had the burrata small plate the other night with the salad. Nice presentation with pesto. I wasn't a huge fan of the bread served with it. It was nicely toasted but was a fairly light "white" bread, and something a little heartier, perhaps a sourdough country bread would have been more my speed. Service was attentive, friendly and professional. Space was simple but relaxing. Really enjoyed my meals there and it will definitely get a return visit next time I'm in the area.

Yelp
TLDR; the little gems salad with "green goddess" dressing is the best salad I have ever had at a restaurant. All of the wines on the wine list are available by the glass, don't hesitate to ask for a taste and make your own decision before ordering a full bottle! My dear sisters were in the area for wine tasting, and owing to the heat wave, I chose to only join them on the day they were going to the coast. We originally had a reservation for River's End, but we noticed they had a dress code which forbade open-toed shoes, which seemed a bit much. We made our way back to Guerneville (which Apple Maps pronounced "Goonville") and checked in at Boon, they said come back in 45 minutes. So we went and had ice cream down the street at the bank (Guerneville Bank Club WTF!) and did a couple art gallery walk-throughs which were surprisingly good. We came back and probably waited another 30? IDK. It definitely seemed like forever, particularly with the crowded sidewalk. But hey, it's a holiday weekend and it was gorgeous weather. We were seated just off the street under some ceiling fans, in the dog-friendly area, which was a great relief since we had one with us. We ordered (yes I'm copying directly from the menu from the web site): (vegan) little GEM salad | avocado | black olive crumble | marcona almonds | green goddess dressing BEET salad | goat cheese | mint | hazelnuts | citrus vinaigrette BURRATA | melons | prosciutto | aleppo | snap pea tendrils spiced walnuts VEGAN bowl | sautéed greens | beans | seasonal veggies | spicy herbed brothVegetable bowl chili braised niman PORK shoulder | creamy polenta | fiesta slaw | ricotta salata + pepitas boon MAC-N-CHEESE | mycopia mushrooms | truffle breadcrumbs We asked the server what of the white wines would go well with everything and I was happy they chose the Albarino because that was the one I figured would be the best. However I regretted not ordering a glass to taste. The 2023 Marimar Estate Albarino wine is dreadfully acidic and only modestly better with food. IMO it's inexcusable to have any duds on a wine list this short. Whatever! I ordered a glass of 2022 moshin CHENIN BLANC to go with my luscious mushroom mac. TBH that made me fall in love with mushrooms all over again. Although it was tiny, it was so rich I felt like it was just right. Mercifully the pasta was al dente! The Little Gems salad was a delightful combination of flavors and textures, the server said the dressing was made from pureed fava beans which tasted as amazing as it sounds. Everything else was ok but not great. After I told my Italian husband about the two polenta dishes (including something the chef dared to call lasagne) he smiled and said "polenta is not a summer food!" and I couldn't agree more.

Yelp
I wasn't particularly hungry but Boon is so cute and I wanted a salad so we are sitting outside enjoying the breeze! The waitress is adorable and she let us bring our own wine from Eqality and didn't charge us a corkage fee. The food is solid and I really loved the Brussels sprouts that are gluten free!!

Vince M.

Yelp
Nice little restaurant for lunch- they had good food and service. We ordered the burgers and a side of mac and cheese. The burgers were well cooked and seasoned well- I enjoyed the pickled onions. The fries were tasty and the Mac and cheese was delicious. All of the food was on point.

Yelp
We visited boon eat + drink on a Saturday evening, expecting a long wait, since they don't take reservations. Our party of 5 was given a 40 minute wait estimate, which gave us time to grab a drink at Rainbow Cattle Company in the meantime. The wait time was very accurate and we were seated inside as soon as we returned. The restaurant was tiny, and seemingly split into two little rooms. Ours had minimal decor and a simple, modern vibe. For drinks, I got a Sparkling Lemonade (bottled), which was tasty. For food, I chose the Moroccan Chicken, and we got an order of the boon Mac & Cheese to share as a group. The Moroccan Chicken was good but not life changing - it had all the right ingredients, but somehow just wasn't that memorable. The portion size was generous though, and I ended up taking half of it home. The boon Mac & Cheese was delicious and I loved the truffle breadcrumbs on top. We probably could've ordered two of these to share between the 5 of us. My friends got the Cioppino (pretty good), Halibut (again, just good), Polenta Lasagna (very tasty, such a unique dish), and the Oak Ridge Angus Flat Iron Steak. While the steak was cooked perfectly, it was really under-seasoned. The Truffle Fries it came with were great though! Overall, we enjoyed this dinner, but it didn't blow our minds.

Yelp
Everyone was very nice. Restaurant was quaint and they don't take reservations, so get there early. The cab franc paired great with the pork shoulder entree. The pork was heavenly. It just fell apart and went great with the polenta. Burrata had a great pesto base. The steak came with vegetables and nice sized roasted potatoes. Prob the best restaurant in town. Highly recommend. Nice job Chef Crista

Gaby B.

Yelp
I dined here a few weeks ago for a private event. The food was top tier. The brussel sprouts were some of the best I've ever tasted. For my main I had the pot roast which was excellent. I did see some burgers being brought out that looked amazing as well. Reservations are a must as the place is tiny and definitely busy.

Yelp
Highly recommend boon eat + drink! We heard that if we come around 6-7pm on the weekend that there would be a long wait. We went about 10 minutes after opening on Sunday evening, and there were already 2 tables seated. The staff were so nice and attentive. There are two sections to the restaurant: indoors and a covered, heated patio area (they provide blankets). My only small complaint is that some of the tables are close together--I guess that really adds to the cozy vibe. The food was outstanding! In each dish, the different components of the dish balanced each other so well (sweetness + salty + tartness). That made the dishes feel less heavy. Appetizers: *BURRATA cranberry compote | pears | spiced walnuts | grilled bread 9/10 *CAULIFLOWER | sriracha vinaigrette | currant | sesame 8/10 (they ran out of brussel sprouts but the cauliflower was delicious) Mains: *seared DUCK BREAST | cauliflower puree | apricot marmalade | fried kale | pomegranate glaze 10000/10 *chili braised niman PORK shoulder | creamy polenta | fiesta slaw | ricotta salata + pepitas 7/10 They also had an assortment of alcohol to pair with your food :)

Yelp
We had dinner on Saturday at boon eat + drink and the place was very well visited! We felt really lucky to have a table for us! The service was very friendly and helpful to answer questions. I had the vegan bowl, which was like a broth soup with freshly sautéed green veggies plus beans. It was delicious, very well seasoned and felt like a hug in a bowl. My husband had a burger with fries that was also good. I tried his fries and they were crunchy from the outside and soft from the inside with a hint of truffle oil flavor. I highly recommend this place!

Megha M.

Yelp
After hearing so much about this spot, I was quite disappointed. The food was very mediocre. We ordered the brussel sprouts, beyond burger, polenta lasagna and two desserts- the brownie and the bread pudding. The brussel sprouts were good and the polenta lasagna was flavorful but neither were amazing or anything I was blown away by. The burger was not good. Other reviews had similar complaints of the cheese being cold and the onions being cold so it was an awkward burger to eat. I got the beyond patty so I avoided any issues with under or overcooking the patty as other reviewers have described. Both desserts were pretty bad. The brownies were burnt and the bread pudding was so rubbery. I ordered those desserts because usually they're just reliable dessert options on a menu but they were surprisingly bad. For the price, I wouldn't recommend this place. 20% gratuity is automatically applied as well. I just didn't think anything about this dining experience was great - the vibe isn't trendy or fun and the food is mediocre at best. I'd recommend skipping this and trying other restaurants in the area.

Rachel R.

Yelp
I really debated between giving three or four stars but based on how good the reviews are for this place, it really didn't meet my expectations which is why I went with 3. First, I will say that I was pleasantly surprised that we were able to get a table on a Saturday night without much of a wait. They also let us order some drinks while we were waiting. The seating layout is a bit confusing as there are two indoor parts but they don't seem to be connected on the inside, only by walking outside between them. We sat outside since we had our dogs with us. Overall the service was pretty slow, I think maybe they were quite understaffed. The food got mixed reviews. We were very hungry so we started with truffle fries and Brussels sprouts. The Brussels sprouts were delicious! (Wish I had gotten a pic) and the truffle fries were good in taste but the texture was subpar. For the entrees we got the fish of the day and the flat iron steak. The fish was everyone's favorite. Perfectly cooked and the beans and greens beneath it were just as delicious and flavorful. The steak however was quite a disappointment. Flat iron is a pretty cheap cut of meat so I was kind of surprised that that is what was offered at a place that's supposedly so nice. Regardless, we gave it a try but the meat itself just wasn't good. It was very tough and chewy and was pretty hard to eat. I'm not too familiar with the variety of restaurants in Guerneville but this seems to be one of the nicer ones. I wouldn't be opposed to coming back if I was in the area but I won't go out of my way

Yelp
Great dinner, perfect service, comfortable seating. We ordered Red Wine and a Peach Sour Beer. Too full for dessert. Awesome place for a great meal! Service here is spot on! Attentive but not intrusive. Brussel sprouts are the best I've had! Amazing!! Steak was cooked to perfection! Come early to get ahead of the crowds. We keep coming back, the food, service, and wine menu is top notch!

Dana K.

Yelp
Quite impressive food! Loved everything! We got the beets, little gem salad, and vegan bowl! All incredible. Highly recommend ordering a side of toasted bread to mop up the broth in the vegan bowl!

Rachel M.

Yelp
Service was great, food wasn't worth the wait. The macaroni and cheese was delicious! We ordered one of the specials which was seared scallops with creamy polenta; scallops were gritty and flavor was ok. Flat iron steak, fingerling potatoes were both under seasoned; steak was served with a chimichurri sauce, but this didn't taste like any chimichurri sauce I've ever had. It tasted and looked more like a pesto sauce...wasn't good unfortunately.

Tomas R.

Yelp
One of the only dinner spots you can get an upscale meal here. We sat in an auxiliary space that was not connected to the restaurant- we had to exit to the sidewalk to get to the bathroom. Food was good- everything tasted as it should. Fish was cooked well, that green sauce paired with the burrata Hickey and veggies still had some crunch to them. Waitress was lovely and helped us select a nice wine. I'll probably come here again if I have to but or when their menu changes next. Come if you want an easy dinner.

Fran C.

Yelp
A fun place to eat with creative and carefully prepared dishes. We tried several menu items and enjoyed them all, but the Moroccan carrots were to die for! The servers were enthusiastic and really hustled to give great service.

Tylyn W.

Yelp
An excellent culinary experience. Brussels sprouts nice and roasted and lemony. Mac n cheese super creamy and flavorful (loved the mushrooms in it). The pork shoulder was cooked to perfectionnnnn and with that tomato sauce + polenta, it was incredible. We added the roasted carrots at the last minute and it was the best decision. The flavors (sweet & savory), the crunchy, the char, and the creamy cool bed the carrots was on, yes please. The waitstaff were so lovely. The dog wallpaper was cute and fun. A good date spot, but there were also some families there. So I guess it's good for all sorts of groups. I'll be back next time in the area!

Paul S.

Yelp
The food at Boon is top notice and on par with what you will find in downtown San Francisco. We enjoy a meal here with every trip to guernville. Get there early or wait at the bar a few doors down for your table. But don't miss out !

Robert H.

Yelp
Service - prompt, efficient and friendly. Pro staff Parking - parking is found on the street along the main thoroughfare. If not then multiple side streets. Town is not large so don't worry about walking Food - delicious and the reviews are warranted. Beet salad - fresh with a very mild goat cheese. Refreshing and light Burrata - definitely a must order if you like burrata. Superb started Pork in Chili sauce - flavor town. Chili is mild even it look dark and spicy. It is not. Aromatic and flavorful with large chunks of stewed pork. The bed of polenta was amazing Flank steak - cooked perfectly to rare and if you are into truffle fries you will love it. Pro tip:#1 - dog friendly with a small covered outdoor seating area and the entrance. Two tables and bar seating for 4 If in Guerneville make it a point to visit. This is a super popular place to don't be surprised if you must wait. We arrived just after opening for the last two bar spots for outdoors. Enjoy!

Yelp
We were hoping to get into this bustling spot so we got there right at 4 pm. The meal, service, ambiance was wonderful. It's a very small restaurant with a few tables outside and the inside only seats tables of 6 or fewer and no reservations. The food is amazing. We had a fresh lettuce salad with light and delicious green goddess dressing. Vegetarian polenta lasagne with a spicy marinara sauce and chili braised pork shoulder with a delicious slaw and super creamy polenta. We shared an amazing bread pudding that had cherries and a light cream anglais. This is a really talented chef and my birthday celebration was even better than I expected.

Mary D.

Yelp
Stopped here after a beach day on a Saturday Night . For starters , me and my partner walk up to the hostess outside and I greeted her with a "Hi" and big smile and she gave the most disrespectful and disturbing face back to me even my partner noticed and felt extremely uncomfortable. I let it slide and we got a table after her eyeing me down as I walked away .. It was pretty busy but every table had their food. We sat there for 25 minutes with no service. A new couple walked in and sat down next to us. The rude hostess was now a server and immediately took their order after 25 minutes of us waiting already. I gave her the look and she eventually came over. We ordered. She went back to cleaning glasses and I noticed she didn't put in our order onto the machine until 10 minutes after . The couple that arrived 25 minutes after us got their food before us. We felt completely disrespected. As for the food- I had the polenta lasagna . Mediocre. For some reason very crunchy? Ambience- Sensory overload on a busy night. You are sat right next to strangers almost touching elbows. Overall, the vibe me and my partner got from start to finish was unacceptable. I hope managers will see this and address issues with insecure employees.

Cel C.

Yelp
I have been here three times and the menu has changed but it is always so good. Great service, delicious farm to table dishes, and such a cute place for a date.

Diane F.

Yelp
I highly recommend this place, it's small and cozy and the food was amazing. We had the brussels, burrata, their meatball special, and the halibut. Everything was delicious and the service was great.

Steve D.

Yelp
Definitely a staple if your coming into Guerneville. Food is great, atmosphere is nice, indoor and sidewalk seating on a nice day. Small quaint friendly and food is consistent. Haven't had a bad dish here nor a bad experience in the past couple years

Tina D.

Yelp
It's a cute small restaurant with some outdoor seating! Flavorful food and kind servers! Must try!

Olga L.

Yelp
Had halibut with corn and other vegetables Sounds like a strange combination but it was super delicious! I would love to come back

Neoshi C.

Yelp
We waited almost an hour for our table at boon eat + drink, and it was very well worth it! The restaurant has a cozy feel and offers both indoor and outdoor seating. The service was a little slow at the start, but then followed through for the rest of our meal. The highlight was definitely the food! We started with a few glasses of wine and the burrata. For mains, I had the seared salmon (they were out of cod) and my companion had the steak. We closed our meal with the brownie dessert - perfect for chocolate lovers. Overall, this was a high quality, filling, and delicious meal!

Mark B.

Yelp
Just walked by the restaurant our way back to our hotel, the hostess and staff where closing the front entrance and a unleashed dog that belonged of one the employees or employees boyfriends charged and attacked out 12LB shitzu. My dog was bitten but is ok. No apologizes were offered, just one of the employees screamed at us to keep walking. This is so unacceptable . Don't waste your money at place like this.

Tatjana S.

Yelp
Fantastic service, quick and thoughtful. We were seated in a small room accessible from the outside and separate from the main restaurant. There was no wait time at all, as the restaurant is only first come, first serve, at about 6pm on a Wednesday. No reservations are available. The food was excellent! My oldest son had the Mac and cheese and was not disappointed. The rest of us opted for the steak, medium rare. It was delicious! I loved the cream sauce and remoulade on all of the steak, fingerling potatoes and broccolini. Nice bottle of Pinot Noir split between my husband and I. My oldest son enjoyed the brownie for dessert, split with my husband, warm and soft, with a nice sea salt crunch. Definitely a must try in Guerneville! Come early!

Kari E.

Yelp
One of the best meals I've had in a while. We got the arugula salad, morroccan carrots (on special that night), and the flank steak and all were delicious. I would order all of them again in a heartbeat. It's a small spot so I understand wanting to get as many tables in as you can, but we heard way too much of the people's conversation next to us. They were also being loud, and to be fair we wouldn't have minded so much if they were talking about interesting things instead of their cringy political views. If you are going to sit inside and are loud talkers please discuss something worth other tables hearing. We will definitely come back for the amazing food but I think we will sit outside next time.

Dorothy K.

Yelp
Ooh this place was really yummy. Came here on a weekday night during Thanksgiving week and we were super lucky to get called for a table. I don't think they take reservations (?) so come early to skip the wait and put your name down ASAP! Food is so good. A couple local folks recommended this place and we had flagged it earlier as well. Everything was delicious. We got the cauliflower, a salad, mac n cheese, a burger. It was all delish. No left overs! I would say it's a quiet place. Really good for a fancy date night or hanging out with friends. This is not a bad thing but just something to consider if you have a noisy party or kids. It's not really what I'd call kid friendly since they have nice wine glasses, nice pointy silverware, and in general breakable glasses, but it just requires some more looking after. Food is so good that there will be no complaints there! Would definitely go again if I'm in town!

Ava S.

Yelp
OUTSTANDING! Food, service, everything. We were quickly seated and our server was very attentive. We ordered the little gem, beet salad, and vegan bowl. We loved them all! Crista, the owner, was so lovely. Would definitely eat here again.

James C.

Yelp
Delicious Food, Great Service, Pleasant Atmosphere! We had dinner at Boon last Sunday evening and enjoyed the entire experience. Food was great as was the cheerful and prompt service. Between the four of us, we had the burger and fries, mac and cheese with truffles (our friend who is an expert said it was the best he'd ever had!), cream of broccoli soup, brussels sprouts, salad and steak. The food was as good as or better than many places I usually frequent in the San Francisco Bay Area. Restaurants in Guerneville can be hit or miss, but we would absolutely go back here in a heartbeat!

Ken A.

Yelp
This place rocks! Small place and they don't take reservations so you have to get lucky. We sat outside - watching all the diverse interesting people walk by. Service was good considering they were super busy. We had the Poblano Chile Soup special - nicely done chef! We also had the grilled Broccolini - sauce was amazing, again well done chef! Our main dishes, the steak and Moroccan chicken were both superb. Brownie and Panna Cotta were so good. We will be coming back to this cool place for sure.

Mandy L.

Yelp
I've been 3 times over the course of the years and while it's not a lot, every time has delivered a great experience. Our most recent trip yesterday was no exception. We went with some friends and ordered the burrata, mixed greens salad, and sprouts to share. My guy and I ordered the flat iron steak to share. It was the perfect amount of food for 4, our friends shared the Moroccan chicken and said it was delicious. The sprouts are always a home run here, every time I eat here it's on the table. Many places do their version of brussel sprouts but I must say this is in the top 10 for me. Crispy, excellent bold flavor, seasoned well. The burrata was also delicious! Served with toasty but not too hard bread slices. Burrata was served with watermelon and honey dew on the plate. The combination of flavors were fresh and surprisingly delicious with fresh herbs, marcona almonds, and the beautiful soft cheese. We like a rare steak and they didn't disappoint! Usually places overcook meat for me and this was packed with flavor and still on the rare side, fantastic! Service was on point, friendly, prices are fair for quality of food. Service fee is included in the total on all bills. Super glad this spot has been around so many years, it's a west county treasure!

Kait R.

Yelp
Delicious food here at Boon! I tried the Moroccan Chicken and it was delicious. Service and ambiance were great.

Itai V.

Yelp
Such a great experience 1. The staff is super nice 2. Lots of vegetarian options 3. Very flexible The vegan bowl, vegetarian lasagna, Mac& cheese and brussel sprouts are all winners We will be back

James L.

Yelp
I haven't even had my entree yet, but the spring melon salad I just ate was worth writing home about. Sweet but with hints of savory and spiciness. Some kind of fresh cheese. Pine nuts. Just delicious. I've eaten here over the years and always been happy but it has been a while because they're always jammed with people. But today I slipped in at 5:30 pm and they have a new dining room annex. Maybe I'll report on the cod later.

Kathleen D.

Yelp
The best food! Try the polenta lasagna - it is the bomb! Small place, limited seating.

susan s.

Yelp
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Boon. We were lucky to arrive early (they don't take reservations) and seated right away. Service was friendly, attentive, prompt. We loved loved the truffle Mac n cheese, the braised pork, and Flatiron steak with frites. We'll definitely be back on our next visit to the area!

Katie B.

Yelp
Three words: pickled green strawberries. So fun & innovative! Took my folks fir dinner. Really glad I went.

Yelp
Boon eat+drink was at the top of our list of restaurants that came highly recommended. Being a smaller restaurant, they do not accept reservations and everything is on a walk-in basis. However, the host was amazing- he referred us over to El Barrio for drinks, and personally walked over to El Barrio to grab us when our table was ready. That little gesture of hospitality really meant a lot to us. The food is excellent as expected- that said, our experience was dampened by the waitress we had. She was not very pleasant at all, and gave us attitude all night- this did not go unnoticed by all four of us. She also made a snide comment about us only having water with our dinner- we had been drinking all day at local wineries and already had cocktails while waiting for our table. When she walked away to get us water, the host came over to ask if we wanted anything to drink, and she ran over to yell at him "They're ONLY having water" - it was an extremely awkward exchange. We ordered multiple items to enjoy family style, which also seemed to annoy her. We ended up feeling pressured to just finish our meal and leave as fast as we could. I did not appreciate the way she treated us at all - 20% gratuity is automatically added to every bill ("for your convenience" they say), which possibly contributed to her lack of class. The food itself was excellent- it appears their menu changes regularly to reflect local ingredients that are in season. Everything is locally sourced. We got the beet salad, mac and cheese, roasted fall squash, miso black cod, and flatiron steak. The mac and cheese and the cod were the favorites of the evening. The cod came on a bed of rice and mushrooms, and the flavors just worked so well together. Overall I believe the food and the welcoming nature of the host deserve 5 stars, but I had to take away 1 star for the terrible service we received from our waitress.

Yelp
We really wanted to hit a few restaurants during Sonoma County Restaurant Week but due to prior commitments we only managed one. After looking at all the menus we chose Boon Eat and Drink located on Main Street in Guerneville. Our prior dinners there have always been very good and this years menu caught our eye. It looked very appealing and at a bargain price of $35.00. We each ordered something different and shared everything. Started with flash fried Brussels Sprouts with garlic, chili flakes dry, lemon and olive oil. Other starter was an arugula salad with radicchio, shaved fennel, dry Jack and lemon vinaigrette. Both starters were tasty, fresh and perfectly seasoned, perfect start! Main courses were Moroccan chicken with couscous, preserved lemon, smoked yogurt and almonds. Other main was braised pork shoulder, creamy polenta, wilted greens and ricotta salata. Mains were delicious, could not pick a winner, both were that good! Should add that both were large portions. Very full but we pressed on to dessert :). Panna cotta was light and creamy topped with berry compote and a rosemary butter cookie on the side. Other dessert was a very chocolate chocolate brownie with caramel and chantilly. What's not to like with those two desserts. Yum ending to a great meal. Boon does have a nice concise wine list. We brought our own wine, corkage is a reasonable $20.00. A couple of things to note. Boon adds an automatic 20% to all checks which we don't mind at all. Also, the restaurant is very small, reservations ARE NOT taken. They open at 4:00pm on all days they are open. On busy days (Friday-Sunday) I suggest getting there early. On Saturday we sat down at 4:00pm place was full at 4:45 with a line of people waiting. Finally as Boon is small we could have been rushed through everything to get another cover, nope our dinner was spaced out perfectly, not rushed or hurried in any way. DW and I are already planning our next visit!

Yelp
By hands down one of the best restaurants I've eaten in many, many years. This should be a Michelin rated restaurant. The halibut was too die for. The pesto on top of it was fantastic. Our waitress was amazing, she knew what wine went with what. If you are any where in the Santa Rosa valley go out of your way to come to this place! Differently making a trip to come back here!

Yelp
Quaint and cozy... fresh and creative light fare. We had the halibut dish and it was terrific. Brussel sprouts were a bit to tart for both our taste but we drizzled the juice off this onto the fish which needed a bit more bite to it and all was perfect! Love the garden in the back that serves the restaurant. I would go again and do recommend. I would give 4.5 if that were an option bc I reserve my five stars for Michelin level amazement, but this is such a small venue and there I so much energy and love put into it that I'm going to lean to 5.

Yelp
The brussel sprouts here weren't bad, but everything else on the menu was pretty dang pricy. It's in a small little town in the Sonoma area, so not sure how people come here.

Yelp
Such an awesome menu, especially the shared plates. Well thought out sides with the entrees, generous portions, reasonable prices for a higher end dining experience. Can't wait to go back to try more of the menu. Highly recommend a cocktail at El Barrio while waiting for your table

Yelp
Excellent service. Unique wine list. Creative and delicious food. A small quaint venue with a modern but homey vibe. Can't wait to go back!
