My second visit to this dinky location. They use meat that is famous in Philadelphia so these things should be pretty authentic. One less reason for transplants to whine and whine. The taste is good but the meat is not packed onto the sandwich. I chose white cheddar instead of provolone or cheez wiz (ewwww). The sandwich has onions so beware. Also got fries which were pretty good. You order the food on a tablet thingy. The sandwich costs about $12. It’s not filling. Get fries or starve. The eating area is not fully enclosed so it’s kind of open air which is cool until some smoking fool decides to pass by or even worse chat with someone while they ruin your meal with their second hand smoke. On the other hand you do get pretty interesting people watching here. There’s a tv screen out there. Meter parking and parking in a structure are available.

Order at the kiosk, sit outside at a raised table or some big communal tables. The meat is good, I got mine "whiz wit" meaning Cheeze Whiz and onions, it was very cheesy and the onions were great, but where this place shines is the bread roll. Excellent texture, a tiny bit chewy and still soft. It absorbed the juices from the meat and the cheese very well. If I lived in LA I'd be coming here a lot!

Google
Parking situation was a bit tight but do expect that because it’s ktown. They have free 15 mins validation in the lot of the mall. But I did spend more than 15 mins just to park - order - take it to go (not even eat in). The steak is great, especially with cheese (any kind of cheese). They’re very well wrapped and didn’t fall apart. Great choice for quick lunch!

It’s a cool spot to pick up your food real quick and leave. Unless your into the city hustle and bustle. High traffic zone. Lots of people and homeless. Food is great. Small outdoor seating area. We ordered the pepper Philly cheesesteak with no onion and added cheese whiz and American cheese.

Google
It may not be the best but it is up there. Very good phillycheese steak! When you order for pick up, go right away. We went 5min later and it was ready for pick up. That way you won’t eat a soggy sandwich.

Google
It is unbelievable to me how high the reviews are for this place. It is a terrible sandwich: the worst meat; bread that is somehow simultaneously tough, soggy, and flavorless bread and by every metric worse than a day-old Subway loaf. If you have any baseline for what a philly cheesesteak should taste like, or frankly any tastebuds at all, this is not going to cut it. Honestly, you'd be better off in a food court. I really want to know what's up with this blind loyalty that folks in this city pay to local institutions like this that defy all logic and good taste. The only good thing about this place is the soda selection. The owner should consider rebranding as "Boos Sodas"

The Only Real Trinity

Time for lunch and I decided to get a cheesesteak. It’s truly hard to find a good cheesesteak spot in LA. Got to the establishment and the girl behind the counter wasn’t so charming. Basically because I didn’t order Online; I had to go to a different counter to order it through a kiosk. There are no chairs to sit down only tables to stand. When I ordered my sub of course I got extra mushrooms, but I also wanted lettuce. They charge extra for lettuce $1.25 to be exact. I got it anyways because I like lettuce on my cheesesteaks. I ended up taking my cheesesteak back to my office. When I opened it up I noticed that they put the lettuce on the bottom portion of the sub. Who does that? I guess they do…lol. If the lettuce was on top the lettuce would never have gotten soggy. I mean if you were to get a cold sub you don’t put the lettuce on the bottom…RIGHT? The sub was also very bland didn’t have much flavor, and the mushrooms were not fresh they were canned or glass jarred mushrooms. Definitely did not impress me. The bread however was definitely the right bread for a cheesesteak. Not sure if I will return.

Google
This restaurant is fraudulent on Uber eats. I called them literally two minutes after placing my order on the app to tell them that I didn’t want onions on my Philly cheesesteak. They said they already started making the sandwich and put onions on the grill already which would be literally impossible within two minutes to do. Also, these people make the same exact sandwich over and over again, so they could’ve used it for another order if they really did put onions on it. The fact that they had no Grace with me and could not change my order is bad business and fraudulent. Uber Eats would not refund my money after I canceled the order. You can see from the attached phone screenshots that I ordered from Uber Eats literally one minute before calling them. This is fraud.

Yelp
I've never been much of a cheesesteak fan but this spot completely blew my mind and changed my perspective of what a cheesesteak could be. Amazing food, service and quality.
google avatar

Chris G.

Yelp
Giving a generous 3 stars here. They serve you quick and the portion is commendable! Canned mushrooms on the cheesesteak is an insult, bread falls apart, skin on fries were low quality and unsalted, and their ketchup isn't Heinz, and only place to eat is outside where you have to fight off bugs and flies. Won't come back

Yelp
I've picked and ordered Uber eats from Boo's several times and it's basically my favorite cheesesteak in the area. It's crazy how everything is getting so pricy but I guess it's just something we all have to get used to. I had their regular cheesesteak and their chicken cheesesteak and I like them both equally. The one thing others rave about was the cheese whiz on their sandwich and it's definitely not for me, I tried it once (yesterday) and I won't do it again. It was messy to eat and was too much cheese for me (it was doused on top) - I definitely prefer provolone. Their fries are good too. I'm glad we have a good option for cheesesteak in LA, go figure it's in ktown but it's good!

Yelp
This is a pretty good cheesesteak for what it's worth in LA. I haven't tried any other places in LA but they give a ton of cheesesteak and the sandwich is pretty big. If you're native to cheesesteaks you have to get it with whiz. The place is a little hidden and in a hole in the wall. Fun casual ambiance and service was pretty good. I ordered via ubereats they usually have good deals. Fries were pretty decent as well. I have been to Pats, Ginos, and Jim's steaks in Philly before.
google avatar

Nathalie R.

Yelp
Not my cup of tea. The meat is bland and it's too greasy. The fries were also kind of bland. Overall I just don't think this is enjoyable food.

chrisc c.

Yelp
Ordered doordash. Maybe the portions are adult size now. No. The sandwich is thin, barely any steak in it. All grease and onions. Good if you are a vegetarian and want to lose weight

Yelp
So I am a cheesesteak maniac and I have traveled to Philly and had all there best hits!!! And this place is right up There and it's on the west coast thank the lord lol. If anyone knows of a better cheesesteak please let me know because this place rocks!
google avatar

Yelp
I love this place and I hate what they've done to their portions. I keep coming back hoping it was a fluke and they just prove me wrong again. Way too small portions.
google avatar

Yelp
Wow I haven't been here since pre-Covid. I was driving by the area during lunch break and said why not. I love a good Philly cheesesteak! Before you were able to dine inside but it seems like they remodeled a lot and all dining is outside with a few tables and stand up tables. Ordering is on the kiosk in the front or through online. It seems like they streamlined the whole business which is awesome I ordered my usual, the mushroom pepper steak and wow it taste the same as I remember and actually bigger than I remember! Definitely generous with the portion and I left full and satisfied. Also I've been to Philadelphia a few times and boos is literally the only place I tried that tastes really really authentic!
google avatar

Yelp
I love a good Philly cheesesteak, and I have had these sandwiches from coast to coast and in between, including that famous spot in Philadelphia that "invented" the sandwich in 1930. In my humble opinion, Boo's is easily in the company of the best Philly cheesesteaks anywhere. I got extra cheese, extra onions. The roll was good. Sandwich was moist. Meat had a delicious flavor.

Yelp
This place is fire . First time trying It today and lord the best I've had in la !! So far , and I would truly recommend .

Yelp
I believe it was a YouTube vedio I saw on this place, they made it look like they are god of cheese steak sandwiches but it was far from it , this place lacks tru cheesesteak complement. No, no, no, no especially for the price it's a 0 from 1-10 for me, it was saggy bread!! eeeeeelllll. Best, Greg

Yelp
PROS: - The cheesesteak was decent. Nothing to rave about though. - The fries were decent. CONS: - Parking is non existent. Street parking only as far as I know. - On the expensive side for what you get. - Your orders take a while to prepare if you don't pre-order.

Yelp
Just ordered a cheesesteak through delivery. The cheesesteak had no cheese on it. Considering the fact that it's a cheesesteak, I think it's a pretty big problem that there was no cheese on it. Also checked the bag and the cheese wiz did not come on the side. Obviously people make mistakes (although how do you forget cheese on a cheesesteak), but based on other reviews, this is a recurring thing with this location. Kinda incredible that a cheesesteak place repeatedly forgets cheese. Considering they're selling cheesesteaks, seems like a borderline scam. I'm just trying to wrap my head around the fact that this happens repeatedly. You would think that after a few times, they would put in some sort of rule that they have to double check that cheese is on a cheesesteak. Or perhaps educate the employees about the fact that cheesesteaks should have cheese on them. Not saying this is entirely the employees' fault. (although partly it obviously is) If this is occurring repeatedly at a restaurant, there has got to be some underlying issue with the restaurant and how it's run. While the sandwich was still tasty, it was not a cheesesteak. I ordered a cheesesteak from a cheesesteak place and got some sort of steak sandwich. I would similarly be upset if I ordered a grilled cheese from some place and got just two pieces of toast. I don't mind toast, but I mind it very much if I'm expecting a grilled cheese. I might crave a cheesesteak soon because I haven't had one in a while (because the steak sandwich I had today wasn't a cheesesteak) and if the next time I order a cheesesteak I get just a steak sandwich, I really just can't express in words how I would feel. It would obviously be very upsetting, but more than anything confusing. For some reason, every time I order a cheesesteak, I expect there to be cheese on it. Hope this place works on putting cheese on a cheesesteak- I guess maybe put some proper training in place so that cheesesteaks actually come with cheese. Not sure what the solution would be, but I just hope that this place can one day become a cheesesteak place and not just a steak sandwich restaurant that sometimes puts cheese on the sandwiches. That may be asking for too much, and I may be overly optimistic, but I think with time Boo's could become a great cheesesteak place. They only need to somehow figure out how to get cheese on the cheesesteaks. All the elements are there but the knowhow still needs work. Hopefully they figure it out and hope to have a better experience next time!

Yelp
Ayo, if you work in ktown on wilshire, come to this spot. I walked by it a couple times and finally came in. I'm gonna at least have to come here like once a month. I got their loaded meat cheese fries and . So bomb! 10/10. Went perfect with my passion fruit green tea from next door, (85° Cafe.) It was quick service and this spot has a nice outdoor seating area. Come through.
google avatar

Chan S.

Yelp
If you love cheeses steaks that filled with cheese wiz, you can get them here. A bit messy so I recommend getting it to-go and eating them in the comfort of your home. You order at the kiosk and they call your name. Outdoor seating only.

Yelp
When I received my food it had a foreign object inside, some type of paper. I tried to reach out to rectify the situation but I'm currently sitting on hold for over 10 minutes to not be helped. Disgusting customer service!

Yelp
Really great service I love the sandwiches they help me get through the day. I will add that if you're in a rush this is a great place because they will take care of you. Down the street from my office and my employees love it!

Yelp
Not worth it! I ordered the Boo's Cheesesteak and it had no cheese and the steak was very bland and dry. Portion was also on the smaller side. Not recommended

Yelp
I had a craving for a cheesesteak and decided to go with Boo's because they seemed to have the quickest delivery on ubereats. Here are my notes: Sandwich: I got the chicken cheesesteak hoagie and I was disappointed. It wasn't as flavorful as I'd hoped. I've worked at a cheesesteak shop where I was the one making the sandwiches so I feel like I am qualified to leave this review Sides: I got fries, they were solid. No complaints. I do wish they offered onion rings though. Sauces and garnishes: I like their choice of ranch (Newman's Own). Not a fan of having to pay ($2) for peppers though My order came out to nearly $40 with tip and I can confidently say it wasn't worth it. I can't see myself ordering again because again, it just wasn't worth it.

Yelp
Boo's Mushroom & Peppers Philly Cheesesteak is a revelation. The sandwich bursts with flavor, thanks to perfectly sautéed mushrooms and vibrant bell peppers that complement the tender, seasoned beef. The melty cheese ties it all together, making each bite indulgent and satisfying. The fresh, soft roll enhances the experience, soaking up the delicious juices without becoming soggy. A must-try for any sandwich lover!. The staff are nice and accommodating. A nice spot to grab a bite

Yelp
Best in the city , great service and easy to order food also easy to get to this location.

Yelp
Was there on opening day and many times since. Solid Philly steak with all the Philly staples. Amoroso rolls, dietz and Watson. Quality ingredients. Always love hanging with the crew pre construction but the new layout works well for the neighborhood. Now they've got beer too!
google avatar

Yelp
Ordered a cheesesteak with American cheese and for $14 it was barely filled with steak. Flavor was good, and ease of ordering and pick up was quick and easy (order via kiosk, pick up at window).

Yelp
Definitely worth all the hype as one of la's best cheesesteaks. Delectable. Sure they have off days here and there, like aaaall food establishments (recently I got sando and fries that each tasted like they had an extra giant cup of salt added to em), but when they're on they're ON and are hard to beat.

Yelp
LA's Cheesesteak Hero So there I was, wandering the streets of LA, when a craving hit me harder than a plot twist in a soap opera. I needed something, something authentic... a Philly cheesesteak. Enter Boo's Philly Cheesesteaks, coming to the rescue like a superhero with a spatula. Boo's took one look at LA's cheesesteak scene and said, "Hold my beer--and my provolone." True to their word, they fixed the problem with the precision of a surgeon and the love of a grandmother. Each sandwich is a masterpiece, a gooey love letter to Philadelphia right here in the City of Angels. The bread? A golden chariot carrying the tenderest of steak, swathed in a melty cheese cloak that would make the Liberty Bell crack a smile all over again. It's like biting into the American Dream-- if the American Dream was served with a side of chips and a pickle. Forget the Hollywood Walk of Fame; Boo's is where stars are born. And by stars, I mean each gloriously grilled onion joining forces with ribbons of steak in a dance of umami delight. LA may have the glitz and the glam, but Boo's has the heart and the soul--and let's be honest, a heart and soul smothered in cheese whiz beats a fancy movie premiere any day. The vibe here is more Rocky Balboa than red carpet, and that's just the way we like it. In conclusion, if you walk past Boo's and don't drop in for a cheesesteak, did you even LA, bro? Five stars for the sizzlin' savior of sandwich seekers citywide.LA's Cheesesteak Hero So there I was, wandering the streets of LA, when a craving hit me harder than a plot twist in a soap opera. Yelp
A cheesesteak is beef. Chicken is not served as a "steak". Authenticity a cheesesteak has grilled onions, cheese wiz and sliced beef and a the appropriate roll. I know people order with other cheese. To me, the classic is beef, grilled onions, cheese wiz. I know what people think of Wiz but on this sandwich it really works the best. But it is like asking who has the best hot dog.
google avatar

Miles S.

Yelp
It's not everyday that a seasoned Philly Cheesesteak veteran from the DMV area co-signs a cheesesteak in LA, but Boo's gets the stamp of approval. My brotha, sought after music producer Jay The Great insists this is the spot and I agree with him. They say discussions can end after Cheez Whiz & Amoroso rolls enter the equation both of which line the kitchens at Boo's. Fast paced and jubilant service with consistently fire sandwiches. Stop by today! Thank me later, follow me now, stay eatin' bruh!

Yelp
No customers but still waited about 15 minutes for my order. Hot shredded lettuce was very unpleasant. A lot of the sandwich was just bread no meat. THEY DONT ACCEPT CASH!!!! What kind of company doesn't accept cash as payment. One star just for that. Very subpar food and service.

Yelp
Ordered from here last night, and spent the rest of my evening with food poisoning. And no, it was not worth it. Won't be eating here again, even at fist-point.

Yelp
Amazing cheesesteaks! Great staff. Get it with wiz... such a hearty bomb.com meal. They have beer and wine now and the selection is pretty good. If you're feeling adventurous, get the LOGAN. It's spicy and cheesy, with hints of mustard, peppers and gooey goodness

Yelp
While my hometown Eagles lost the Super Bowl yesterday, the day was not a complete wash - because we had Boo's! By far the best cheesesteak I've had in LA, it's our go-to for special occasions. They know what they're doing at Boo's. I'm not sure about ownership's history or connection Philadelphia but I refuse to bother with other cheeseteak places. If you're on the market for an authentic cheesesteak, they should not be served with mayo, cheddar, or roastbeef. Boo's makes *none* of these critical errors. Flying in the rolls from Amaroso's is one key factor. Another is the steak is not bland, steak-um quality. Cheese options are appropriate. The cherry peppers are perfectly spicy. They serve the right ratios of parts to the sandwich. If you want to ruin yours with lettuce and mayo, you can, but please don't. Lastly, the vibe picking them up was joyful and I got my once yearly treat of TastyKake magic: Butterscotch Krimpets. So still a win in my book. As for football, sorry, Iggies - great season, and you'll get 'em next time!

Yelp

Yelp
I ordered the Philly cheesesteak and it was delicious. It had it delivered and the delivery was good and also the gentleman that delivered r

Yelp
Great tasting Philly cheesesteaks! The CHEESE WIZ is what separates this place from the rest! The BREAD is fresh and soft. The MEAT is thinly sliced and has good flavor. SERVICE was great but it just sucks that the only place to dine in is outside. They used to have a few tables inside but not anymore. Great overall experience!

Yelp
I finally had the chance to try this place!! Located right next to 85 degree, and reminder if you're coming here to just do to-go, REMEMBER TO GET VALIDATION EVEN IF YOU'RE JUST PICKING UP FOOD. I got charged $3 cause I didn't get validation lol I got the regular cheesesteak with cheese whiz and was honestly contemplating if I wanted cheese fries as well, but the cheesesteak also already had so much cheese, you can just use that cheese with your fries LOL. The fries here was also really good!! I really liked how they did their French fries cause it was a nicely crispy and salted the right amount that it really was the best fries I had in the longest time haha. The cheesesteak itself was also really good, but it's really salty. Probably it's the cheese that makes it super salty? Definitely need something to drink to wash down all the salt intake from this meal. Also, it is a mistake to eat this in your car. This meal is pretty messy and can definitely stink up your car for the next few days lol

Yelp
We ordered 3 sandwiches for delivery through UberEats a week ago First time trying Boos and while the sandwich was good the quantity of meat and cheese used was not worth the price If i had eaten at the restaurant i definitely would of complained I'll stick to the other Philly cheesesteak places around who use a proper amount of meat and cheese

Yelp
Was in K-Town for business & needed some food for lunch. Looked what was near and saw Boos cheesesteaks. I was so excited because I hadn't had a cheesesteak for a few months. I'm always hesitant in getting them. I'm originally from back east and been disappointed many times. So, got to the place and there are bar tables outside with no chairs , but not inside. You actually can't go inside. I went up to the window and girl said "pick up?" I said "no, need to order. She said "you order there" she pointed to a screen next to the window. Ok, interesting and super non engaging. I'm scrolling through the menu on the computer screen, and pick the Mushroom Cheesesteak which comes with grilled mushrooms. Mind you things can be added. It's not traditional, but I love lettuce on mine, and I ordered extra mushrooms. Extra lettuce is $1.25. I was floored. I can understand extra onions or mushrooms being extra money, but seriously lettuce? I got the lettuce anyways. I also ordered cream soda too. Food didn't take long. Got back to my office which was a five minute walk, and couldn't wait to dig in. I opened it up and it looked great, but where the heck was my lettuce? OMG...the lettuce was on the bottom. Seriously, the bottom? Who puts lettuce on the bottom of a sub especially when it's hot? The lettuce would not have been soggy if it was on top. Ok, no worries I should have told them on top I guess. I did get the extra mushrooms, but the mushrooms are not fresh. They tasted like canned mushrooms. If you have ever tasted canned mushrooms they have a little sour taste to them. The bread was great! Definitely the right bread for a hot sub. The flavors though wasn't. Very bland. Needless to say I was super disappointed. From the service, to my oily bag, the lettuce, mushrooms...to very first bite. They got a 3 star for those reasons. Most people would give a one start, but Im giving benefit of the doubt for the lettuce. Not everyone thinks like me...lettuce on top. Not sure if I will ever come back, but if I do also ask for some salt too.

Yelp
Best cheesesteaks in LA - no question about it! I will drive from West LA to Ktown to get a cheesesteak from Boo's. The cheesteaks are fresh, have a large amount of meat, and the cheese sauce is great. They serve Hank's soda here, which is high-quality. My favorite is the Birch Beer (tastes very similar to root beer). My favorite meal as of late is splitting the mini combo with a friend. The mini combo is 2 mini cheesesteaks, 2 sodas, a side of fries, and a side of cheese whiz for about $20. A great price for a filling meal! This location only has outdoor seating, which I think is totally fine with LA weather. They are like little picnic benches right in front of Boo's There is a lot around the corner from Boo's. The lot was full during my most recent visit, but there is metered street parking right out front.

Yelp
I had a pick up order a while back and I am not a sandwich person but i love this please! the meat is pretty good, well seasoned!

Yelp
Most delicious, authentic cheesesteak I've encountered in LA. They ship in amoroso rolls from Philly and their whiz is out of this world. Completely unmatched in what they do! Go, go, go! One for now, one for later.Would recommend delivery, as parking is rough and aside from a little table outside, there aren't many places to sit. Enjoy!

Yelp
Philly Cheesesteak with American Cheese: 4 stars A good friend and I ordered Boos Philly Cheesesteaks after having a couple of cocktails at home. The food took a bit to arrive, but the sandwiches were still warm. The portion size is good, and the meat was tender and quite flavorful. The bun comes steamed and the onions were nice and carmelized, sweet. I normally do not eat American cheese, but my friend said that this was the way to go (He was born and raised in Philly). Would I return? yes. Next time I'll be sure to snap a photo of my cheesesteak.

Yelp
Not worth the effort time and money to eat here a 2nd time. Really was hoping it'd be good too. The portion of food is small.....the pictures are definitely deceiving. Food suckkks :(

Yelp
Boo's Philly has been on my list for quite a while, but it's just sooooo far from me. Plus when I go to Koreatown, I'm going for Korean BBQ not Philly cheesesteaks. But National Philly Cheesesteak Day was enough of a reason for me to get off my ass and make this long trek to Koreatown. Since they are still takeout for the time being, I placed my order on their website. Very easy to order, set a pickup for later in the day. As a result, I can't really talk much about service because I literally just went here to pick up my food. Although there are a lot of good looking options on the menu, I decided to keep it straightforward and go with the Boo's Cheesesteak with Cheez Whiz a.k.a. the way Philly people like it. This was good...like really good. The thinly sliced ribeye steak had great flavor and texture. These Cheez Whiz is pretty intense, but I can see why it is the cheese of choice in Philly. And you know they are legit if they use the Amoroso roll...this one was very soft and held the beef well, was a good contrast to the very hearty chunks of beef. Overall, a great product. And for those that are uninformed, there IS a parking lot in the back of this plaza! It's on Alexandria, just gotta turn into it. You can get validation at the restaurant, although I'm not sure how long you have for free parking. Overall, very impressed by the cheesesteak. I've been told by a few Philly friends that Boo's is legit, and they were not wrong. Definitely will be coming back!

Yelp
One of the worst Philly cheesesteaks I have ever tasted. No flavor, trash bread, cheapest "meat" you can find, and was that Cheez Whiz?? No thank you. I fed it to the pigeons. The staff members were very professional and nice tho.

Yelp
This place has fallen off. Unless you're here strictly for the cheesesteak, just avoid it like the plague. Then again, even those aren't anything to write home about. The bread they used doesn't hold up to the grease and you end up with a soggy meat "salad" of sorts. Same goes for their plain old sandwiches. I've ordered here about 5 times and they just never get the order right. Pictured is my "No mayo, or oil please" Turkey Hoagie... if you could even call it that. There's basically a 9:1 ratio of lettuce to meat and if you want more than two slices of turkey you'll need to pay an extra five dollars for the full deli portion lol. Pro tip: There's a Jersey mikes down the street, and probably a subway too if you'd like something somewhat edible.
