Fullerton’s pioneering craft brewery pours local culture with its pints—think Golden Chaos and Palomino Pale—plus releases, trivia, and food trucks. Spotlighted by PBS SoCal and lifestyle outlets, it remains a social hub for the city’s beer scene.

Very friendly and knowledgeable servers and staff. Great food and menu choices. Ate outdoors in covered patio area that had misters to keep it nice and cool. Great beers!! Will be back often

This is my first here. I had the Hot Chicken Sandwich. Allie the chef did a killer job. The flavors are still dancing around my mouth. The chipotle Aioli is a wow factor and don’t skip the Fried Pickles cause they are epic. This is a can’t miss spot, and the beer is amazing as well! REVISED!!! I am now trying the beer, and the Rocco Red is just spectacular mmmm creamy with the perfect amount of hopps. Rock on Bootlegger’s Brewery! G

Google
This past week, I was invited to lunch. Often heard of the famous and most delicious sandwich around town... which I skeptical... found that the rumors were all true... scrumptious, I would add,, this chicken sandwich blew my mind ! In addition, the fried pickles are delicious... and coleslaw with the most magnificent spicy sauce...I was in Heaven! Add a jaritos Soda and beer 🍺... wow... : literally called the chicken sandwich on the menu... amazing! Perfect for lunch and dinner... limited on site parking... but close enough walking distance around location with parking spaces...

Overall area is cool but allowing g dogs to sit or stand on tables is disgusting. Bad practice

Google
Love the selection of beers here!! Tons of IPAs, some sours, malty beers, stouts, and pale ales. The coffee blondenis super smooth and the hazy IPAs are awesome. The tasting room is huge with a giant patio that includes some retro arcade games. Great spot to visit in the area.

Great place to grab a beer and chill. Lots of great beer choices and the Lupima are delicious

Google
Great beer selection. Very tasty seltzers. They seem to rotate flavors often. Food is tasty, recommend the asada fries and cubano with garlic parmesan fries.

Google
boysenberry cream ale is so delicious! they don’t have happy hour unfortunately and not a fan of the country music but the food looks/smell good (didn’t try any). lots of outdoor seating, great service! definitely recommend coming to this brewery!!

Yelp
Delicious sour beers and food! The ambience was chill, good vibes with games & heaters

Yelp
A cool brewery around downtown Fullerton. Location is far enough to not be crazy crowded with the college crowd but close enough where you can walk. Indoor area as well as lovely outdoor patio with tons of shade and misters. It was a warm one this summer day and the shade made a huge difference making us comfortable. Outdoor has an enclave sort of area with huge televisions where the baseball games were showing. TVs also inside as well. Beer selection was great and they have a lot of wines/sparklings for those who want it. Every night they have something fun going on such as Trivia or Live Music. Food truck/kitchen serves food as well since no outside food.

Yelp
Pretty nice brewery that's family friendly . We wanted to get the kids pizza but unfortunately they don't get the pizza from next door anymore so that was a bummer . They do have a good selection of other food and everything tasted really good from the tacos to the Cajun fries . They cook the food from a food truck so food took awhile for us since came with the whole soccer team . They have a good selection of beers and seltzers . The service was great only complaint is the time it takes to get food and them no longer serving pizza . It's family friendly . They have dog water bowls under the tables which is great for ppl who bring their fur babies . It's not super spacious for kids to run around compared to brewery x but fit. It worked out that it wasn't busy on the Saturday we went with the team .

Yelp
Bootleggers!!! This is the OG for me. This spot is the first brewery hubby and I came to regularly since we turned 21. Now we're in our 30s and we still love coming back to this spot. It has everything you could want. Great service, incredible beer, entertainment, food, indoor seating, outdoor seating. I literally don't have a single negative thing to say. The only thing I have to say is, if you live in OC and you drink beer, get your butt over here!!

Yelp
A very nice place to enjoy some beers with friends. I love the atmosphere when I visited.. the music was playing and the whole brewery was alive with chatter and laughter. There was luckily heating lamps because it got really cold during the night. I got the michelada and the worker recommended his favorite beer with it. The michelada went down easily and hands down in my top 3 places to go for micheladas. I can't wait to come back and sample their other beer selections/try their quick bites.

Yelp
This would've been 5 stars if they had a larger selection and allowed you to take Two Saucy Broads Pizza in still. Found out they don't allow it anymore. Sad sight, but they have a medium variety of drinks and an outdoor seating that are just the vibes I like. Dog friendly, huge screen for sports, good food! I was going to even put this as low as 3 stars but the service was too notch. They overly seasoned my cajun fries, I didn't have to say a word and the server took care of it immediately. The initiative was phenomenal. Good spot, would recommend!

Yelp
I want to start with I loved everything from the food to the atmosphere but something happened at the end that drops this down to 2 stars. I went for trivia night and I feel like they can go a bit faster with questions but whatever, it was a two hour event and yeah it was fun. I wish it wouldn't be just on a phone that we're inputting answers but again, whatever, it was great and fun. I tried the Earth to Planet Mango IPA and BLT and both were delicious, the fries and fried pickles it comes with were superb. I've never had fried pickle spears but oh mama it was great. Ok, the two stars: all night the trivia host is reminding you to tip your servers because they're working hard and blah blah blah. At the end of the night, our server comes along with the giant tablet to close our tab. She lists everything you ordered to confirm it's all correct, says the total price, and hands you the tablet open on the tip page, you add your tip, and then you can request the receipt via print or email. I looked at the email and was shocked to see 18% percent gratuity had already been included. So I ended up adding a tip on top of the already added tip. Pretty nasty trick to get more tips and left me feeling pretty sour after having a wonderful time there.

Yelp
Fun brewery with nice sized patio, pet friendly and house small bites (a bit overpriced for the sizes). Friendly and attentive service. A very nice selection of craft beers... again, very nice! Clean restrooms with multiple stalls. Parking is limited but also plenty of street parking on Santa Fe Ave 2hr 7am-6pm or walkable parking structure down the street towards Malden... to walk off those beers haha!
google avatar

Yelp
First time here. The service was great, staff was friendly and welcoming. For being a Friday night it was just perfect amount of people not too crowded. Order the carne asada fries and bootleggers burger. Food was delicious. It's cool little spot to go, it was fun. They have a wide selection of beer.
google avatar

Yenny D.

Yelp
We come here a lot, lol. We live super close so it's always one of our go-to spots when we want good vibes, beer and food. Now that we have a baby, it's always one of our go to places that's baby friendly! Beer is good, food is good (although I do miss the chili cheese fries) and service is great. We come often enough that they know us here, which is amazing! Parking is easy and they have live music on Friday nights, which is when we usually go. :)

Yelp
Bootleggers has changed since I wrote my review in 2017. Covid really changed things in Fullerton, and Bootleggers had to adapt to overcome and survive. They now have a full menu. The beers are the same quality, and their standard beers have not changed. The food, while not amazing, is pretty good, standard brewery stuff. They still innovate and put out new beers too. Gone are the days of coming here to chain smoke and chat with strangers like it's an outdoor night club that is open all day. It's now a table service style place, where they take your order and bring you your food and drinks. That's fine. In fact, the vibe shift is probably for the best. As my last review indicated, there were some issues with vibe clashes between families trying to have a wholesome good time vs degenerates like me looking for a place to get drunk and smoke cigarettes. Bootleggers has clearly decided that families are better for business. Begrudgingly, I can accept that this was the right choice for them. Give them a shot. You will enjoy it.

Yelp
Visited with a coworker on a weeknight. I was able to find parking on the street around the corner, but was surprised to see how little parking was available and see that it would be problematic if they were busy. Although this Tuesday night they were not and I was able to grab a flight of four beers. They had a great selection of beers, heavy on the IPA and red ales but a few of the lighter and darker options as well - I settled on two very different IPAs, the Thai tea, and the mango flavored ones, a Randolph brown, and the chaos Belgian. I enjoyed all a great deal, Thai tea was a really unique flavor profile for an IPA. I enjoyed these out on the patio, which had some nice heaters going to fight the chill. Did not have any food on this visit, but some people were enjoying some good looking tacos nearby, so might be willing to come back and give it another try. Staff was not very quick, but friendly!

Yelp
Great dog friendly place to grab a beer and some comfort food. Friendly staff and warmers outside if getting cold.

Yelp
I can't say enough about the amazing food here I had the hot chicken sandwich so juicy perfect spice the chipotle aïoli is rocking good and of course the slaw on it yummy. The Allie today's someone already reacted to ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha chef is rockstar. And don't say no to the fried pickles cause they are off the chart. Rock on Bootlegger's G

Yelp
Parking- good luck with that haha Interior- decent amount of space to find a spot Beer- decent selection Food- pretty good selection and taste Staff- no complaints Music- good, just a bit too loud

Yelp
Good spot, mostly outdoor seating (inside but open space). Great for groups - we went here during closing on a weekday (Wednesday) and there were still ~20 people there. Street parking just around the corner, apartment complex across the street that's lit /new- but still not many people around so be careful! We got an IPA and the Golden Chaos, which seems to be their most popular drink - highly recommend the Golden Chaos over the IPA. Stopped by the other brewery before this, Barrel and Stave - this place has better beer and a cooler chill spot. They have some video game and some sports game on here too. Would come back if I'm in the area, but wouldn't go out of my way to come here.

Yelp
While this is a local spot for us as we live in Fullerton I really think as a brewery it leaves a lot on the table. The food here is super sub par, they say that they don't allow outside food yet you see people with pizzas from Two Saucy Broads which is not a big deal. No w if your food was really good I would understand but you are a brewery and I think that you should focus on that. The areas of concern that should be addressed is the fact that the tables and chairs that the own are crap, uncomfortable, old as shit and the patio area just needs a complete overhaul. Focus on making good tasting beers instead of worrying about what food people are trying to bring in there. For me the idea of a brewery should be like a backyard BBQ with family, friends and great food and if you can't provide it there should be no issue when your friends bring it.
google avatar

Fabian R.

Yelp
Decent beer and decent food. The service was great. Ordered some lumpia and they were great but i feel like they could have given me a couple more for the price.
google avatar

Noel R.

Yelp
Filipino tacos , they brew their own beers. Filipino American resto-brewery. Very yummy.
google avatar

Conrad C.

Yelp
I have been buying beer here for years. Must try the Knuckles sandwich. They have outdoor and indoor dining type bar food which is excellent. Great place for friends to get together. Service is always friendly and attentive.

Yelp
I just realized I never posted a review! I absolutely love Bootleggers! Today was exceptionally memorable because as a dad I struggle every time I eat out with my boys because they're somewhat picky. Usually they buckle down, but it's a dialogue. Today was their first time visiting and eating at Bootleggers. They not only loved the atmosphere, but they devoured the food. Everyone working there is awesome every single time I go. But the owners Aaron and Patricia are incredible and even took the time to chat my kids up. They've been raving about lunch since we got home! Can't wait wait to go back!
google avatar

Casey H.

Yelp
The beers are awesome. The patio is fun to hang out on but the food truck they now have leaves some to be desired, it is still pretty solid but they no longer allow outside food to be delivered there. The only reason I used to frequent Bootleggers was to have pizza from Two Saucy Broads which is next door and some good local beers. All things considered, you won't be disappointed but it just isn't the same since they stopped allowing pizza from next door.
google avatar

Ivy H.

Yelp
Beer and ambiance was great! I think it's cool that they have games. Took a while for someone to talk to us

Yelp
My friends and I went here for the first time and we were sadly disappointed by the service. We were very badly neglected. I had to get up several times to look for our server. She was very sweet overall but it was all too annoying to constantly get up to look for her. We wanted to order more drinks but were afraid that we would not get them. Sigh. The drinks were great! The Reuben sandwich and original burger were good. The guacamole and chips were disappointing: we got a ton of chips and one tiny cup of guacamole. I wish I could have said, "Holy Guacamole, it was good!" Nope, the guac was a bit sour and not enough for $8. I wish I took a picture to share. Anyway, that was my experience.
google avatar

Mihrdat Y.

Yelp
Pretty solid brewery with great drinks and a great casual place to hang out with friends/family. We stopped by here with a group of guys for a friend's bachelor party, and they were super cool with us and even gave us all a free round of beer. Wonderful staff all around! Five stars to the "What The Huck" drink. It is a Huckleberry Pie flavored ale that was surprisingly very good. I ended up buying a 4 pack to take home. If you are in the Fullerton area, give this place a shot! Highly recommend!

Yelp
We've been coming here for years and really enjoy their food and drinks. They recently changed their fries and I'm very happy with the change. My husband loves their fried pickles. I love the sours they have on the menu from time to time and I don't think my husband has ever found a beer he did not like. Very casual setting, everyone is always very friendly. This trip my husband tried their limited time only smash burger and we hope they keep it a regular item!
google avatar

Eddie C.

Yelp
I absolutely loved my visit here. It was my first stop on a night of brewery hopping. I got the Randolph Brown ale and the Berry Dazzleburst sour. Both beers were outstanding. There was a lot more on the menu that I would've loved to have tried but I had to pace myself. I did get the chips and salsa and the cheese sticks. The food was very good. I can't wait to come back here and try more food and beer.
google avatar

Kathy C.

Yelp
The food is great! We were at an event downtown and wanted a quick bite to eat so we stopped in for a grilled cheese, and it did not disappoint! We also ordered the fried pickles which were amazing. The fried pickles were similar to fried mozzarella sticks, but with a pickle in the middle And we just could not get enough of them. The grilled cheese itself was also really good, nice and crispy on the outside. It also came with the side of mac salad which was tasty. There are many other menu choices, and we plan to go back very soon to try something different. This is mostly an outdoor setting, but there is also covered seating. A real cute environment, very comfortable and welcoming. Staff were all great.
google avatar

Dayna G.

Yelp
Good beers and usually enough seating for what you need. Great spot to watch some sports with friends while still getting some sun. Food is pretty average. We've tried a few things on the menu and only feel good about ordering the fries. Easy walk to the rest of DTF.

Yelp
Sitting outside in 70 degree's enjoying beer and food In Fullerton CA. 1. "What The Huck", Huckleberry Cream Ale. Crisp and refreshing @6% 2. "Negative Plato". Interesting IPA @ 7.4%. A little dank, but the grapefruit, tangerine and blueberries really come through. Extra crisp and dry. Really good! Also a different kind of Reuben, with the added bonus of spicy chipotle aioli. The rye bread was GOOD. Fried pickle spears with obligatory Ranch Dressing Dip. This is a California law apparently. The homemade potato salad was perfect. Great selection of 70s and 80s music through out. No complaints here!!
google avatar

Helle P.

Yelp
100% with their hospitality and beer and food. Their Far out IPA and Thai tea IPA always tastes delicious and I recommend their tacos Filipino style. Brewtenders check in on you and do take care of you here. There's always paintings and other art for sale and live music and open mic days. Arcade games are a real cherry on top. They have plenty of screens for different games and they do show Dodger games. I love this place.

Yelp
I hate to leave this negative review because this place is really cool. The beer selections are great. However the female cashier with the silver/blonde hair (who refused to provide me with her name) had terrible customer service. She was extremely rude, seemed to have an attitude, and lacked professionalism. I placed a food order with the unidentified female cashier and ordered a cheese burger with no tomato and no mustard, but when I received my food, it had both tomatoes and mustard. Upon closing my tab and receiving my printed receipt, my order was entered incorrectly. At this point I put my incorrect food order aside and tried to remain positive because I understand it was busy, and went back to order more drinks for my wife and I. Once again I was called up to the register by the rude unidentified female. I placed my order for drinks, and the unidentified female poured my drinks and shoved them hastily in from of me and quickly walked away before I could even say thank you. I would really like to come back to this place, but the lack of customer service displayed by the unidentified female cashier is really making me think twice about coming back. I have attached a copy of my receipt to show that the unidentified female did not want her name known, as she was clearly logged in as someone named "Eric M" and that my order was entered incorrectly by her.

Linnette R.

Yelp
I decided to try this place during the art walk and it was great. I was able to to find seating. A person came by to drop off the menus and the drinks were delivered quickly. Would definitely come here again.
google avatar

Evana L.

Yelp
Impressed by the beer and vibes! A group of us stopped by on a Saturday night around 7pm and ordered food and drinks. I tried the White Peach Seltzer and the Red Lightning. Both were high quality and delicious. There was a performer singing live music which was really fun. The service we experienced from each employee was friendly, patient, and helpful. A super plus - the patio is dog friendly so you can bring your furry friend along. Thankfully parking wasn't that hard. There was street parking nearby and many different parking structures available around. Of all the great things about this brewery, the beer stood out to me and will be the reason I return.

Yelp
Been coming here almost a decade and love it! The people are great , mix of new and year round beers, and the food is underrated! (Mainly posting because the most recent menu is from a year ago)
google avatar

Yelp
Had a great time with friends last night! Had the cider with tajin rim, delicious! My husband had a michilada which was great also! The food was very good. We started with habanero mango wings, spicy but very flavorful. For dinner I had the pesto chicken sandwich with cajun fries, very good! The pesto on the sandwich was so rich and delicious. My husband had the chicken quesadilla looked very good. He ate it before I could try it. We sat out side. Tables were full lots of good people watching and mostly heated which was great because I am always cold. Seemed like I was sitting in my backyard! Overall we had a great time! Service was on point! Our server never let our drinks get empty! We had a great time! Be back soon.

Yelp
I've been going to Bootleggers forever, and this place is not only great, but has adapted to Covid-times beautifully. The beer here is consistently good and there's something for everyone. My favorite beers are: Thai Tea Far Out IPA, Pokin the Bear Hazy DIPA, Golden Chaos Belgian, Coffee Blonde Ale, Electrocat Hazy DIPA, Black Phoenix, and honestly the list goes on... They didn't have house made food before, but they now have a really great food selection too! The first time I went, I got the club sandwich with fries, the second time, I got garlic fries, and they were both great!

Warren B.

Yelp
Great staff here and a nice variety of local beers available to choose. The guys are so helpful and the sweet potatoes fries were very tasty. A nice, warm place to enjoy a beer and fries out of the cold. Thanks guys.

Andrew S.

Yelp
I love this place and their beers! The only issue is the bathrooms are small. I accidently went potty in my pants because the line was too long and it wasn't number 1. Other than that one time, it's been perfect! It was a good life lesson, I know wear diapers when I go out to drink. Lesson learned!
google avatar

Lisa I.

Yelp
Arrived 2 hours before closing and ordered the Texas burger, you get to choose two sides. We got both Cajun fries. Kinda wish they had more sides to choose and the Cajun fries had a tad more salt, but they were still really good. And wow the BURGER was DELICIOUS, definitely recommend. I liked the outside area. The inside has a dive bar kinda vibe and outside feels like a beer garden.
google avatar

Michelle L.

Yelp
I just want to say Bootleggers staff is awesome! I had a surprise 40th birthday party for my husband and it was better then expected! Emily, who is the event coordinator kept in touch with me via email/phone regarding reservations and catering. We had our own area sectioned off from the public. I was able to purchase discounted beer tickets in advance for my guests which was awesome! Catering prices were very reasonable (I ordered the taco bar). Everyone really loved the food. Staff was amazing. They went above and beyond to make everything perfect. The taco bar was set up nicely which included plates, plastic-ware and a water station. They were on top of making sure all empty cups/plates were picked up. We were able to bring our own decorations. It was a great night and I would definitely throw another party here again. Thanks Bootleggers!!
google avatar

DeLayne B.

Yelp
I have always enjoyed hanging out at the Bootleggers patio. In addition to having some of the best beers around they also have a cool place to hang out and experience them while there, you have the opportunity to play some giant Jenga or just watch sports on TV. There is a food truck cooking up some pretty darn good food. It works pretty much on a serve yourself basis all the way around but they are dog friendly, which is important to me, so what are you waiting for get on down to Bootleggers?
google avatar

D. H.

Yelp
best fried pickles ever! the first time, won't be my last.... i love it the pastrami rueben was smoky and tender.. so good!
google avatar

Paul G.

Yelp
Our go to spot for best beers in town! Love the chill vibes and awesome servers here, especially the owner Patricia, who take care of us like family! I can't vouch enough for Bootleggers, the original craft beer of the OC and beyond. I highly recommend their OG knucklesandwich if you want to get smashed; and their "secret" hop beer is the best there is!
google avatar

Valerie W.

Yelp
Used to come here many times years ago, but this most recent time threw me off. You can only order beers/food from a server now and outside food is not allowed. I wish they would give an option to order just drinks at the bar. There were a few times where we had to wait around and flag down a server to order another beer. When passing the bar going to the restroom, we overheard the servers complaining about certain tables/customers. I'm sure other customers overheard in passing lol like come on guys have some class. I think the beers are decent but the service and flow needs work.

Amber M.

Yelp
Great service, the mozzarella sticks were super cheesy yum and I tried the goat cheese salad it was ok. The mango ipas were tasty The outside patio had big TVs and warm heaters
google avatar

Arpita G.

Yelp
Very busy but plenty of seating available! The michelada is probably one of the best I've ever had, it will leaving you wanting another one. The beer flight was just okay, none of the flavors we tried were too remarkable but the sours here are pretty good. Would recommend sampling some of the beers before picking your flight for a better experience.
google avatar

Stanley H.

Yelp
My friend raved about grabbing pizza next door and bringing it in here for some beers. Well we get there and there's a huge sign that says no outdoor food allowed. The beer was decent, but it ruined the experience after being forced to order food from their taco truck.
google avatar

Justine B.

Yelp
Amazing for an outdoor beautiful day. The brews are delicious, the people are wonderful, I can't recommend it enough. Shoutout to all the staff every time we go - never a bad time.
