As a vegan for years now, the best compliment I can give vegan food is that you could serve this to a non-vegan, and they wouldn't notice the difference. Good food is good food. They also have a great variety of items and desserts!

This place is an absolute gem! It’s rare when the vibe, food, and service are all perfect. The triple threat 😎 The service was nothing short of AMAZING—Jess went above and beyond and truly treated us like royalty. She was so knowledgeable and gave fantastic recommendations for food combinations that worked perfectly together. The menu is a dream come true: 100% gluten-free, vegan, and absolutely delicious! Every bite was bursting with flavor, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality. It’s rare to find a place that caters so thoughtfully to dietary needs without ever compromising on taste. Jess made the experience unforgettable—warm, welcoming, and attentive. As we kept saying all evening, “Jess is the best!” 🥰

Friendly staff and owner. Owner was super attentive to her customers experience and satisfaction. I tried their hash mix side you must try. It was gone before I was able to capture a picture. I tried their famous pumpkin pancake. Delicious… it’s sweet but has a nice cinnamon spice to it.

Google
Amazing place!! Cute environment. The team was very nice about verifying ingredients for my long list of allergies! They went over my questions and verified in a book. All gluten free and vegan!

Google
Amazing selection and service. Great tasting alt foods for those of us with food sensitivity. Delicious croquette! It’s the first thing I mowed down when I got back to my car!! 😁 The ginger cookie is next… with the above average coffee.

Google
The kindest humans, the most delicious pumpkin waffles, and the hippest spot in downtown. Don't walk, run to Boots. They have a little something for everyone but everything is plant-based. I've been for brunch and had their famous pumpkin waffles with chai butter (just do it) and tofu scramble, for lunch for a smattering of sides, and snagged several dessert from pastries to cookies to cakes! Again, they do it all and more importantly, they do it well. They're located in the Saranac Commons so you can also support the brewery, pizzeria and coffee shop located within the same food hall while you're there. And if you're lucky, there will be dogs - or bring your own!

Google
What a find. I love this place. The food was unique an incredibly delicious. The owner was friendly and a great soul. If I lived here this would be my go-to breakfast spot.

Yelp
Now in the Saranac Commons of downtown Spokane, Boots Bakery & Lounge has been a staple for vegan and gluten free options Recommend: No bake cookie or the Boozey brownie

Yelp
Our server Jess was the best! She took our orders in a professional and compassionate way. She even allowed us to do the full waffle instead of half waffle which actually ended up saving us almost $10. She went over and above, and made sure we were treated like family and royalty. Please give her a raise and as much good food that she can eat!

Yelp
Haven't been to boots in a long time and the food was pretty good, Lots of vegan options to choose from, kinda lame how they use a microwave to reheat your food but whatever. The well known pumpkin spice waffles were delicious and made to order which is nice. Scone was dry as a dessert wouldn't get again but the vegan patties were yummy, I think alot of the entrees sit out too long on the shelf rack and get dry and then even more dry when they reheat in a microwave so that kinda sucks but the flavor is definitely hitting. Cafe shop literally in same building so grabbing a coffee with your meal is easy peazy. Service was terrible, ignored multiple times and had to ask repeatedly for my food and take out box, thats just one lady though im sure the rest of the staff team is better.

Yelp
Came here for a quick bite and to relax. Got the pumpkin waffle and the blueberry chia pudding. The pumpkin waffle was amazing- it had chai butter that had a little zing of ginger that made the waffle the perfect balance of sweet and savory. I didn't even realize the bakery is vegan- but that makes it extra amazing because you can't tell the difference. The space is shared with Hatch coffee roasters. It has a ton of seating, it's light, airy ( with a ton of windows) and has a few pinball/ video games sprinkled throughout. Its trendy/ comfy. Its great for families, solo, get togethers etc. Take credit cards- street parking with a parking garage nearby as well. About a 7 minute walk from comfort inn/ universitys

Yelp
amazing customer service, really good and tasty food options they have available. The buffalo cauliflower chickpea caught my eye. The nice worker let me sample it before buying. would recommend trying the buffalo cauliflower, i also ordered a pumpkin waffle very delicious! their homemade butter was good it had some cinnamon taste to it.

Yelp
Have you checked out the new location of Boots yet? I highly recommend it! They are located in the Saranac Commons, and they share the space with a pizzeria and coffee shop. The people there are friendly, and they serve the most delicious pumpkin waffles you'll ever taste. All their items are plant-based, including the waffle, which is also gluten-free and comes with a yummy chai butter. During my last visit, I tried their beet salad, broccoli salad, and veggie patty, and they were all delish Boots bakery & lounge 19 W Main Ave Spokane, WA 99201 United States

Yelp
Excellent food and service. We are visiting from Portland, OR and I went to university in Eugene, OR. Boots feels like home.

Yelp
Nestled off Main and Division, Boots Bakery surprises with diverse I'm learning they are more than a bakery. They hold savory food items as well! It's a must try! Staff are awesome! It's in the Saranac Commons next to Hatch Coffee. Community seating, lots of wonderful business in there. Lunch Variety: From Primavera's to Curry. They have a really good menu for Vegan & Gluten free food Vegan & Gluten-Free Must-Try: Indulge in the Potato Croquettes with their delectable sauce. Scones & Cookies: all Vegan & Gluten Free

Yelp
What a gem! I took my vegan friend here and we were both so happy with the options (savory and sweet) and the service! I ordered a vegetable side salad and a couple of sweet treats, as did my friend. They really hit the spot! The place itself is in an open space with other food vendors, which I found really fun. Definitely will be coming back! Parking is downtown, so prepare for that.

Yelp
Visiting near by . Yelped breakfast. The biscuits and gravy are the bomb. The owners so very nice and accommodating. The desserts are great as well. Highly recommend this place.

Yelp
This place. NEVER disappoints! Stopped in on a Sunday as we were leaving Spokane to head home. Got the Bacon Buddy Sandwich and the Biscuits and Gravy with Jalapeños. Chatted with the owner, Alison and commented on how much we love this place. The staff is so friendly, welcoming and down to earth it's always a pleasure to interact with them. The ambiance is so welcoming, we brought our dog in, not knowing if it was acceptable. Alison assured us it was fine and even gave our puppy a delicious treat. We absolutely love the food selections here and the variety. Our favorites from this recent trip were the Bacon Buddy sandwich. The gluten free bread on this sandwich was the perfect blend of texture and flavor that is often missed in GF recipes. The other favorite was the biscuits and gravy. Bar None, the best veggie biscuits and gravy I've ever had! I can't rave enough about this place. Every time! Alison, you and your staff are amazing people and the offerings you bring to the table are always a mind blowing pleasure to see what new thing we'll find here. It's a good thing we don't live in Spokane - we'd be eating here every day- no doubt!

Yelp
Great variety of salads and baked goods Loved all three of the salads I tried as well as the sugar cookie, no bake cookies, and scone

Yelp
Truly delicious food and just an incredible amount of options!!! Desserts are also amazing! My only complaint is the owner was oddly rude to me but super friendly to the people I was with. Not sure why she was rude to me. It was very strange. My friends even noticed it.

Yelp
Gluten free vegan heaven!! We came in on a Sunday morning with our dog. The owner is so sweet and came over with some healthy dog treats which our dog immediately gobbled up. We got a biscuits and gravy dish and a breakfast sandwich and a bunch of things from the cold case to take home. Seriously....heavenly. I judge a place on whether it is crave worthy enough that I'm thinking about the food later and wanting to go back and this place is absolutely crave worthy. The owner was amazing and brought us some water and utensils and was just super helpful. I LOVE IT that my dog can be inside here with us. Huge bonus. I have a memory of coming here last summer when the giant garage door was open and there were flies so the ambiance at that time was less appealing. Nevertheless, we will 100% be back!

Yelp
Great yummy food and lovely people. I miss the old place but the new place is pretty rad too. You can also supplement your yummy food with a drink from the two other places that share a space here. Everything here is vegan and gluten free. And yummy.

Yelp
Love the atmosphere here! The servers are very friendly and helpful! Everything here is vegan and GF which is a definite plus! We ordered the pumpkin waffle, and it was delicious! Great flavor, texture and loved the maple syrup -it was light and no after taste! It was also a huge waffle.. i could have easily shared just one with Hubby but we were both hungry... LOL. But yeah, super filling!

Yelp
Back in my hometown for a few days, and unbeknownst to me, the area where Boots is located went from being 'no thanks' (early 2000s) to unbelievably usable, charming, and unique. We popped in for a quick breakfast on. Sunday morning before heading off to hike. My son, husband, and I each had a different item from the breakfast menu and we were all happy. Everything was made to order. Flavors were fantastic and the staff was wonderful. Nontraditional seating as this is a shared concept, but it just made our meal there much more memorable!

Yelp
Every time I am in Spokane I always come to Boots. The customer service is great, fast, and the food is wonderful. There is plenty of spacious seating and free wifi which is great to get work done. The food is always so thoughtfully made and for being gluten free and vegan, it's next level.

Yelp
Decided to stop by this bakery as I heard good things about it. I already had lunch, but saw they had a lot of unique cold pre-made meal options (a lot were vegan and gluten-free friendly). The dishes reminded me a lot of LA's Lemonade. Will try to stop by next time to try those! PARKING: They have a small one way parking lot right in front of their bakery that you would pay at the kiosk, but spots are limited. There is also additional street metered parking nearby. We came on a Sunday so parking was free either way that day. GINGER CRINKLE COOKIE: This cookie was amazing and I'm not a huge fan of many ginger flavored things. It is a little on the gingery side and it's gooey in the center of the cookie. Would highly recommend trying this and would totally get this again! One of their top sellers! FRUIT BAR: They had apple, apple berry, and banana peanut butter chocolate chip fruit bars that day. I tried their APPLE BERRY FRUIT BAR. It was just okay for me personally. Maybe it's because I didn't heat it up and had it cold? They have a full espresso bar with flavors available. Drinks are available in 8, 12, and 16 oz cups. PUMPKIN SPICE LATTE: I asked for this to be made with light sweet/pumpkin flavor. This was good and I would get this again!

Yelp
Visiting Spokane for the weekend and I'm SO glad we found this place. The building is cute, the employees are so accommodating and sweet, and the food is incredible. I want to keep going back so I can try more of their menu. My husband and I each got something that we just couldn't get enough of! Will definitely be coming back next time we're in town.

Yelp
This adorable little cafe is an all Vegan & Gluten free bakery. They have plenty of savory and sweet options to choose from. I enjoyed their pumpkin waffles with chai spiced butter this morning. I decided to try out a Vanilla Oat milk latte which was also very tasty. They make their vanilla syrup in house. I highly suggest you try this place out even if you aren't vegan or gluten intolerant. (I'm neither and I truly enjoyed it)

Yelp
While visiting Spokane for a conference, I thoroughly enjoyed lunch (twice) at Boots for their vegan selections. Great flavors and the coffee just across the way was also good!

Leah L.

Yelp
We always love any of the dishes we get at Boots. The curried lentils are always a favorite, along with the mac and cheese. The humans who work here are genuinely kind.

Tiffanie R.

Yelp
Excellent vegan food and baked goods! The scones were delicious as well as the vegan breakfast scramble and potatoes and the curry.

Yelp
In a nutshell, Boots Bakery is a charming daytime eatery offering an impressive array of vegan food ranging from deli favorites with unique flares to sweets that seem impossibly similar to their butter-filled alternatives. All of this goodness is housed in a cozy shop nestled on main street at the ground level of the Longbotham building. In the time of COVID, plenty of outside seating and parking is available if one chooses to eat on site. The service is wonderful and the pricing is fair in my opinion. During our visit, we had the opportunity to try their pumpkin waffle (chewy, hearty, crispy, great pumpkin flavor), no bake cookie (sweet, dense, satisfying), chocolate peanut butter square (crumbly, flavorful, also had bananas), ginger crinkle cookie (crispy outside, fluffy and chewy inside), brussel sprouts (sweet, savory, crunchy), buffalo cauliflower chickpeas (mildly spicy, filling), and the tofu scramble (full of textures and flavors). All of these were incredible and we kept wondering how they managed to make them all vegan as we ate. Would I go again? Most definitely.

Yelp
Amazing fresh vegan food. So many.choices and pleasant staff. It's at the Saranac Public house. Don't miss out on this local Gem that loves all and serves fresh vegan food.

Yelp
Boots is a great bakery and deli and it's mostly gluten free and VEGAN!!! We stopped by after a rigorous yoga class and left happy and satisfied. My friend and I shared the pumpkin waffle and sampled the various cupcakes and breakfast bars. The pumpkin waffle was hands down the best waffle I've ever had! The butter and syrup were fantastic! They sell pumpkin waffle kits to take home for yummy goodness any time! The rhubarb bar was tart and delicious! All the cupcakes were fabulous but my favorite was the chocolate! My cappuccino was tasty and my friend enjoyed her cup of tea! If you need a little something sweet and a nice friendly bakery I highly recommend Boots!

Yelp
Despite what Yelp says, Boots is open for business! Boots was always one of my favorite places in Spokane, but now that it's in its new space across the street I love it even more! First of all, I will say that I am NOT vegan or even vegetarian. Despite that, every time I go I don't miss meat at all. The food is delicious every time. You can never go wrong with lentils. Or buffalo cauliflower. The dishes are packed with flavor every single time. The staff is always helpful, kind and welcoming. Plus the company itself has made its mission serving the community through great food and outreach. I will continue to support this business.
google avatar

Hannah F.

Yelp
Boots is a must-try in Spokane! I am personally not plant based but I do love to try plant based places. I've been here before for their famous pumpkin waffles and that's what keeps me coming back for more! Staff was friendly, WiFi was fast and make for a great place to grab a bite and get some work done too. Waffle was $9.50 but for as healthy and tasty as it is I'd say it's worth the occasional treat-yo-self brunch.
google avatar

Bryan M.

Yelp
My group walked in and were washed in the aroma of pumpkin and cinnamon. What a great choice for breakfast! All vegan options, as well as gluten and dairy free. We were greeted upon entry and the friendly staff welcomed us in and answered our questions. I went with a side of "sausage" hash and a pumpkin waffle with cinnamon butter. That waffle didn't last long on my plate, BTW... Excellent spot in downtown; I highly recommend, carnivores, omnivores, and herbivores alike.
google avatar

Jacqueline S.

Yelp
BEST food we've had!! Breakfast, lunch, whatever- Boots has unbelievable savory and sweet dishes. My favorite part was the mixing & matching for a beautiful plate. We will definitely be back!! Can't wait for a Boots cookbook ;) My husband said "if you cooked like this, I'd never say a thing about it being vegan" lol
google avatar

Haley S.

Yelp
Super food, we got the pumpkin waffle and 2 "scoops" of their vegan entrees (see photos). Really cute spot right next to the coop and very friendly staff
google avatar

Yelp
I'm very glad that Boots was brave enough to enforce safety rules during Covid, and stick with it despite a few people complaining! It's very nice when local businesses care about the safety of their guests. The food is always lovely, and a great choice for vegans and non vegans alike. I'd recommend the pumpkin waffles, and the breakfast scramble! The desserts are also very good, my favorite is the rice pudding. Boots has also been the host to local open mics, and even art circles. They do a lot to stay involved with the community.
google avatar

May K.

Yelp
We were there for a quick bite. Inside was pretty and the menu had healthy options. The croquette was very good and I've liked the coffee cake as well. We might come back for more food option.
google avatar

Yelp
Vegan and Gluten Free!! I always know Boots is a great option when family or friends come to visit, they offer everything from breakfast foods, deserts, treats and drinks. My favorite are the no bakes. Every time we have gone the service is always awesome and the staff is super friendly.
google avatar

Yelp
Love taking my youngest child to Boots. The food is great! I am also very happy that they require all patrons to be vaccinated in order to eat inside the establishment.
google avatar

Yelp
I come here pretty much every Sunday! I love their prices, their options, and their consistent friendly employees :) I recommend getting a trio w the "sausage" hash, Allison's breakfast, and the yams w greens. So good. Everything is vegan. I also really like their baked goods. Especially their coffee cakes, fruit bars, and boozy brownie :)
google avatar

Bill Q.

Yelp
Super solid, a go-to spot for lunch. Hipster clean front of house with a warm welcoming environment. Solid hardwood tables, large community tables as well as booths for smaller parties. Vegan and gluten free options. Plant-based products. I have tried most of the items on their menu from the grab and go side section for lunch and I can't think of an item I do not recommend.

Paige B.

Yelp
One of the only good vegan eats Spokane has!!! The staff are always helpful and very friendly too.

Lisa B.

Yelp
Fabulous gem of a find for delicious vegan food! Many savory lunch choices! Everything was great!

Yelp
I'm a big fan of what Boots is looking to accomplish as a fully vegan and gluten free bakery / cafe. I'm sure the experience was different pre-COVID, but we popped in yesterday for a quick bite during a day trip to Spokane. They have a bunch of savory options offered deli style, including a variety of pastas, vegetables, salads and things like fritters and frittatas. The pricing is ~$5 per item from the deli case. We ordered: -- Sausage & Veggie Frittata // Made from chickpea flour this was pretty good! It needed a bit more seasoning, but was excellent dipped into hot sauce and with the chipotle sauce on the side. -- Corn Fritter // This had great flavor, slightly sweet from the corn. Crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. Also great dipped into the chipotle sauce and hot sauce! -- Roasted Vegetables // My mom thought these were delicious! It was a mix of zucchini, broccoli, Brussels sprouts and a few other veggies. Simple but done well. -- Chipotle Corn Pasta // I wanted to love this pasta but it was unfortunately a bit bland. I expected some heat and creaminess from the chipotle sauce but it was super light and lacking salt. I did still enjoy and finish it after adding some hot sauce. -- Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookie // It was kind of odd that the cookie had whole peanuts in it, but I still really enjoyed it. The peanut butter flavor was subtle but present, and the texture was great! All in all I did enjoy our stop at Boots, but I believe the flavors could definitely be pumped up quite a bit. There are a lot of options here so it is possible we just didn't get the stars of the show. It was kind of a bummer that hot items got reheated in the microwave, and they could have been warmed up more, too. Service was friendly and efficient, they even came out to check on how we were enjoying which we didn't expect for counter service! Boots gets 4 stars for service, effort and offering a variety of fully vegan and gluten free options in an area where they are scarce!

Yelp
I hate pumpkin, anything to do pumpkin I hate, but man the pumpkin waffles is SO GOOD!!!
google avatar

Nicholas R.

Yelp
I had to stop in and try the infamous ginger cookies here and was actually nicely surprised. They were huge and full of that cinnamon and ginger flavor you live when indulging in gingerbread cookies. Im sure they'd pair nicely with a hot beverage as we tread into this colder weather. I got two and honestly that might have been too much, but they are something special, and gluten free!
google avatar

Starinite S.

Yelp
They are vegan, and everything is just awful. The flavor is disgusting. I spit it out, I would not even swallow my food. It was that bad. And I love food. I'm celiac so choices of restaurants are limited. But I won't go back there. Yuck.

Yelp
If you're looking for plant based food in Spokane, you can actually find a lot of places, or you can literally just keep coming back to BB&L. They have everything you could want, and it is continually refreshed with quality food. They also serve up some wonderful beverages to match the food you will stuff into your mouth. Honestly, the worst part about coming here is having to make choices since you can only have so much in one sitting. Basically, this is a plant based deli, especially in the Rona Era. Like many local places they are doing what they can right now, including offering some patio seats and continuing to do plenty of takeout orders. With the nearby places you can walk quite easily, my recommendation is enjoy the nearby park on a sunny day for maximum enjoyment. If you keep a good place you can get all the way to the artificial ice skating rink before your food gets cold, but if you have the option of heating it yourself, they make it all up and stored in a cooler for easy transport. Portions are fairly generous, and even though it may not be the prettiest meal, you'll be lucky to be able to snap a picture before your stomach demands to finish off the flavor bombs exploding on your fork. As a bonus, they know all the best plant based places in the area because it is a small community, but honestly, I just keep coming back here because of convenience and the cooler's cuisine capacity leaves the competition in the dust. Was lucky enough to also score a super soft and comfy branded hoodie, making BB&L make me warm on the inside as well as the outside.
google avatar

Ann K.

Yelp
I got a pumpkin waffle and devoured it in maybe fifteen minutes, it was just that good. The chai butter was amazing paired with the pumpkin spice, and I swear this was literally like fall in one delicious waffle. The maple syrup was the perfect when paired with the flavors in the pumpkin and butter, and I really just couldn't put my fork down. We came for a poetry slam event, and it was quite fun being asked to judge and being able to hand out scores to every poet. Definitely a fun environment and a place that I will return to even if there isn't any poetry, just for those waffles!

Yelp
After a vegan meal disappointed here in Spokane, we came to try Boots and wow the trio I tried just burst my taste buds and enjoyed every bite. I had the breakfast tofu, grannies potato salad and the sausage hash with leeks and to complete the meal we had the pumpkin waffle it was great. Customer service we got from Mark was great! The only down side and the reason I didn't give it a four star was because the food is warmed up in the microwave.
