If giving zero stars was an option then I’d give it -5 stars. When my party arrived, just by looking at the people in line, I was thinking this was just a hole in the wall bar (we aren’t from LA, just visiting). People weren’t dressed up, some of the men had on sweatshirts and didn’t give the vibe that was about to greet us at the line. We inquired about the cover charge and were told that ladies are free and that the bouncer didn’t know what they are charging for men (that should have told me something right there lol). When we went to come through the line it was now $100 for EACH person (what happened to ladies being free within the 5 minutes of having a conversation about it with the other bouncer). See, the money was never the problem. It was the way the price went up when he saw we were a group of ethnic people and thought he could get over on us for it. Once we stepped out the way to figure out the next plan, we saw the same guy let in all the people that weren’t made like us. Here’s the kicker- most of the people at the door aren’t even white. The audacity lol. I hope the owner of this establishment sees this review and knows that your door guys are trash and are taking away from your business making money just to pocket it at the door. We came with over $2k to spend for the night but we only do business where we are welcomed and not greeted with the intentions of trying to bamboozle and hoodwink us. It must suck to suck and work a minimum wage job out here, where you have to steal at the door of your job just to be able to pay a bill. Good luck with all that.

One bouncer told us $100 for men women free and if we wanted to skip the line $200 for men but when we decided to wait in line price all of sudden it was $100 a person we literally watch door guy let in several people in for free while we waited for Uber . We didn’t mind paying the money it was more about the principals it’s like trying scam us for money I don’t like race card but definitely let in all white people with no hassle. Not to mention we was 2 different groups our first group primarily white (men) paid $100 at the door and women FREE😑

Like the other H Wood group venues, the recurring themes you find in all the legit reviews speak for themselves. Owners seem to overly rely on a network of frat bros and other very young, entitled, obnoxious and largely clueless youth roping in the dregs of local Greek life for a training wheels version of the kind of lifestyle that will soon see them flying to Dubai for certain... clients. Then some sad sacks prowling the streets of LA for low hanging fruit see the illusion of hotness and waltz on in. So if you want to watch a bunch of vapid, backslapping fakery (like they show on their IGs) in a crowded, poorly lit, frothy pretend-posh that seems like the hybrid love child of the worst Miami and LA nightlife stereotypes, look no further. I wonder at the funding propping up this network of establishments. Many seem to only be open a couple times a week. It seems they can only subsist on luring in gullible college girls raised on Tiktok fakery and their alleycat promoter enablers who are seemingly unaware they're just a free ticket to the fiesta for intoxicated babes who would otherwise never spare them a second glance (unless, perhaps, they were of the Dubai patron variety). But hey, the equally boorish pretend-posh editorial reviews just love the place (no wonder the media landscape is in a freefall death spiral). Just like Metacritic and Rotten Tomatoes, it's all about the user reviews, not the shills and halfwits populating writing rooms. Tread carefully nightlife thrill seekers. Unless, of course, you are the target audience of posers, faux moguls, aspiring "influencers," SoundCloud rappers and trust fund fragility. Then you've come to the perfect, overpriced sideshow. Tawdry.

I've never had a bad time here. The main issue is the cover bounces around from $20 to $100 per person and it isn't particularly close to other fun bars, so its a gamble to show up. Once you're inside though the vibe is great and the marionettes are hilarious.

One of the most racist clubs at LA. The bouncers refused to let us in just because we were brown and he was letting all the white people get in for free of cost and asked us (me and my girlfriends) 100$ each. Its shameful that such racist behaviour is present even in today’s times. There were 6 people standing out which represented the club all of them did nothing and let us stand in the cold at night and were just plain rude and disrespectful. I hope no one faces this same problem and I hope this club is shut down soon.

great club, H wood clubs are decent . great location to have a night out dancing . there is a few rooms to engage in with a bunch of tables. The music is usually decent there . if you want a club night it’s a solid sunset west hollywood spot.

I don’t know what happened after Covid but from my favorite place this turned to be my least favorite. The place is gorgeous but organization and promoters are ridiculous. My promoter did nothing but getting high and didn’t care about anything else. Rude, Long lines for bathroom and bad service. Not used to this kind of treatment in a club.

Last time I checked security is supposed to keep the the guest safe! All the guards are compliant with this basic rule of thumb. But unfortunately, it's the head of security that discriminately bully's some guest. Yes, he gets a 10/10 for professional appearance. No guard or persons should attempt to cause physical harm to its guest. One would say it is just him moving between tight spaces which would cause him to accidentally shove a guest but not this case. This has been ongoing, each visit, average about 2-3 shoves each night. No reason why a guest needs to avoid head of security in fear of getting blind sided and potentially getting injured. Also causing the guest to aggressively bump into others. If the guest does notice the guard from a distance, he would go opposite direction, but only for him to go outside to take a short cut then catch the guest off guard. If Bootsy wants further precise details, I can provide exact details on the intent of the bullying, when it began (going on 2 years now) & how it began. No issues with head of security at first. But it appears this guard has had a grudge and is unprofessional by putting others at risk just so he can continue to feel high and mighty bullying people. Let's not forget he bully's guest that are smaller than him. The no smoking weed rule only applies if you tip him minimum $20 & if you are black. You will notice, he does not say a single word to the black guest if they are smoking weed, but quick to get in others faces trying to extort them. I have no complaints about the venue, or other security (they are amazing). Only issue is with head of security. Maybe it's time for HWood to transfer him to another venue. But more than likely this concern will be ignored. I don't understand why it's so difficult to just not be a crappy individual & not try to intentionally hurt guest. I do hope he stops being immature and leave people alone especially if they aren't bothering anyone and minding their own business. This guest also showed genuine sympathy & condolence to the head of security by letting know that he heard what happened and sends his condolence and hoped everything will be better for him. That was before he manifested his aggressive behaviors. I have nothing personal against him, but it's the opposite for him. I hope this issue is addressed. The guest would not be wasting his time on an issue that will more than likely be denied by him. But fortunately, the guest has an amazing memory & someone to back what I'm saying. I give Bootsy a 5 but dick head of security a 1 star. Let's not forget his knowledgde/involvement of his little phone theft ring which him and older security staff that are no longer there were involved in. When the old security group, which suspenders was the active head of security, had intentions to steal guest phones. Targeting mainly intoxicated women and stealing their phones or purses. Bootsy is specifically known for the club that stole phones. It was no small isolated incident. They had a whole operation dedicated to stealing guest phones. I can name multiple female guest that have had their phones stolen. Even got 3 in one night. Females I knew & when asked if he can assist, he brushed it off and blamed the girls. The anti-semitism is strong with this one, hidden and secured by his tight fitting suspenders!

Way too small to be called a dance club. Came here for an event Christmas Eve. Everyone was shoulder to shoulder ; exceeded max capacity. Only two bartenders available. Waited about twenty minutes Not a fun, nor comfortable time. Consider any other club of venue before coming here .

Nice open club area with great music! It gets a bit crowded so keep close to your friends. The bathrooms were super clean and the decor was updated and swanky. Would party here again

The music here is disappointing. They need to get better DJs that play cohesive music. No one wants to listen to Justin Bieber then Abba then a 2000s song then a country song. It's not a vibe and the DJs should read the crowd better.

Why was no one dancing here? Smh. I expected more for a Saturday night. My stars are for Mr. Marionette and him alone. He made it all worth it.

Where did I start ! Racist establishment !!! They let all bunch of under age white girls, in me, and my friends were neglected because of our skin color. They literally looked at us and ignored us and let all these little white girls in that were clearly like 14 years old. The bouncers clearly knew of them, and they kept telling us to wait and wait and This guy came out and laughed at us because of our skin tone. He said he was a promoter, and he was going to decide whether we went in or not. We were invited by people friends that had a section but clearly we didn't meet there racial standards.

Terrible place everything sucks. They charge u for anything. Security will charge u girls will try to charge u for a dance even tho it's a nightclub everything is over priced it's just terrible

Bootsy was a very mixed experience for me. Luis from security was very helpful and tried to help me resolve my issues. However, Aldo was not helpful and rude when asked to help us sort out the guest list. I am disappointed in this establishments service. All security however, was thorough and kind, I felt safe the whole evening, Made sure to metal detect everyone.

Troy behind the bar is the best!!! Love this place, always has great music and good vibes

They have promoters who would rather let skinny white 18 year olds to fit what they think is the beauty standard instead of people who are actually old enough to get in. So if you're mid or plus size and not white then you probably won't get let in! Get better promoters. We had a table waiting for us and they let in our two other friends but closed it on us.

I've been a local coming here, and all I can say is that it gets worse and worse every time. For one, the valet doesn't even valet your car and picks and chooses which ones he wants to drive . Two to the bouncers. Don't get paid enough to act the way they do and be rude and disrespectful making minimum wage! Pick a better job if you're going to have a stinky ass attitude :)

Came here for a friends birthday. Had J as a promoter, don't recommend as we had to moved 3 times in the crazy crowd. With a celebrity such as Tyga attending the promoter should handle his clients in the proper manner. We had jackets so it was very difficult to move room to room as well. We currently don't have a table when we apparently had a table but no longer one, and unable to locate our promoter. This seems very inconvenient and not managed properly for a high end club like this. Very unprofessional and not managed properly . As promoter your goal is to have your full attention to satisfy your clients, not spending time with another individual. Please handle properly for future attendees. When handling such clientele, as a club like this, please ensure your promoters have the proper experience to handle things like this.

I had my phone stolen here along with about 15 other people in the same night. the club did nothing. I don't want to allege anything serious that isn't true, but I'm assuming that the club is in on it; you need a promoter to get in, so how did a thief get in if the doorman weren't in on it? I know other people who have also had their phone stolen here. plus the music is just not good.

I mean I might have given in a better review if I had been allowed in lol It's been a while since this happened but I went with my 3 roommates. We were in line and when the bouncer got to us they made it very clear that my 3 beautiful, slender roommates could get in no problem. But me, the big girl, was not welcome. He said "I can only let three of you in." And stared at me like I was gum on the bottom of his shoe. I got the message, I didn't want to be somewhere that didn't appreciate my sexy big booty anyway. As I was getting into my Uber home (took less than 5 mins) , I saw the same bouncer let in a group of 5 more girls. This place is over rated and jaded, any place that body shames women and deliberately enforces fat phobic, unspoken rules is disgusting. Trust me there are better over priced drinks and countless Hollywood wannabes else where xo

They scam people. After you agree to a price on the table they will charge you way more and claim it's fees.

The most rude hosts I've ever encountered. We were told it would cost $1000 to go in the club for an hour before closing. When we declined, the Asian door girl gave us an attitude and told us to leave.

Got fast pass tickets a week ahead of time for new years event. They still made us wait in line. Then said their at capacity and wouldn't let people in. Paid $120 a ticket for four people under the impression we don't have to wait in line reserving tickets and wouldn't let us in. Met people who paid a few thousand dollars for a table and they couldn't get in either. Like wtf. There were three lines of people waiting on the rain. After 40 min day one of the lines isn't a real a line and have to go even further back to the other two lines to wait. For tickets we reserved ahead time. Ruined our whole new years

I felt like I needed to drop this review . Every experience I had here has been Amazing pre-Covid . So I've never Seen "ANY" discrimination but since the venue is a small it's a must they only let bottle service purchasers in . A lot of comments seem to be from a lot broke bitter people . I have seen the negative comments and this isn't like a West Covina dive bar , you gotta spend some money to get seated in ,especially for the venue to make a profit with limited tables . It's logical that they make it a priority for smaller parties of people buying a lot of bottles (common sense). Great music , great service and guaranteed to meet hot chicks . Miss you guys and hope you open soon .

If you like small party on Tuesday not perfect but is good for weekdays night fun, if pay 60$ extra you can go in without waiting on line.

Bootsy is a super fun place especially on edm Tuesdays. It does get really crowded so I'd recommend not dressing in super heavy clothes or wearing a jacket because it gets hotttt inside. Pretty small inside but a nice atmosphere. They have little puppet shows, a laser guy and a photo booth which is unique to the LA club scene.

11 phones were reported stolen tonight and once I left I realized my id, cash and debit card were taken out of my purse. It's a Tuesday night. Never ever ever coming here again. Security couldn't do anything. Sketchy place. Employees prob stole it.

I would give 0 stars if I could. They did not let me in because they said "my size does not fit the image." It was my birthday and instead of dancing with my friends, I spent the night hysterically crying into my pillow. My other friend was not let in because she was "too dark." Cannot believe this place is still open

Bootsy Bellows is literally so irresponsible, requested a sign for a birthday and brought the sign out and didn't even bother turning it on even after telling workers over an over that it wasn't on. Completely ruined the birthday celebration and the night.

I almost got roofied/drugged by security and the bartender last night.. Read all the reviews and tried to be careful and mindful of theft etc., had no issue getting in or rude bouncers but I am a girl. I ended up getting really drunk and losing my friends, but apparently someone I knew was watching me from a distance and he told me that a security guy got me a drink and it looked almost like water. I told him to drink it first when he told me to drink and he turned around and pretended to drink it but didn't and I was about to take a sip until my friend came and stopped me. He took a sip and spit it out when he noticed it was chalky/grainy (like when you open the pill and poor it in). I just have to say be very careful of your drinks. I don't go out to bougie clubs in la and even in Vegas I've never experienced this and only heard of this in movies but it's definitely real and a reality check for me!! I'm so glad I am safe. Overall music was pretty good, but the crowd is kinda true what they say in reviews here. Typical LA girl and of course guys are thirsty and nice but girls I notice aren't friendly and they're very snobby and are only there to take pics of eachother. Id suggest coming out only with friends but it's not much of a place to meet cool new people. Everyone's obsessed with themselves which is cool with me, I didn't mind. I just think that the workers are sketchy, especially seeing that kind of thing happening from a bartender who's in on it, you'd never guess or realize how scary easy it is to trick oblivious drunk girls like me last night. Watch your drinks and go out with people you trust!

There's a first time for everything. I came here for an after party from the House of Blues (may it rest in peace). The front door guys were a little rough, but not too bad for LA. Inside was an entirely different thing to me. It was as though this club shoved a bunch of shiny unicorns in one tiny music box of a room, then added a Michael Jackson impersonator, and a man with a puppet. The bottle girls in the VIP area were absolutely gorgeous, and total sweethearts. I was a bit thrown off by the few people in cutoffs, but money and glitter talk here. The djs the night I was here were dropping some memorable trap and hip hop. This club definitely went up, on a Tuesday.

I came by Bootsy Bellows for the first time this weekend, and I'm very surprised reading the negative reviews since I had such a great time. There was a super long line even at 1AM, and I could tell that the guys at the door were very strict with filtering for a "certain look". Apparently we fit whatever look they were going for and we knew someone inside so we were let right in. I definitely saw some laser beams coming from those who had to wait outside or even worse-- were rejected. Inside was poppin' and the go go girls were HOT! If you're lucky, the house puppet will even get down with you. Music was good, and met some people we reconnected with another night. Money and glitter talk here, so be prepared for the attitude and pretentiousness that come with that type of environment. But hey, I'll be back real soon.

Arrived a few days ago to establishment. Bouncer was quite rude to my friend who I came with. We had to explain to him that we were invited by promoter who we met days prior. We were finally able to make it in, and I wondered if it was worth it. The experience was so so. Save yourself the time and hassle and avoid. This place is on the sleazy side.

Colorism At It's Finest! We arrived in line as a party of 8 for a table that was paid for. While some of our party waited at the door for us to be escorted to our table. Security felt the need to stop the line and randomly select two friends out of the group and did not want to let them. We asked why, they could not give a response or answer. The other half of our party argued with security at the door about what was going on and their excuse was to give them a moment and that the other half would be let in shortly. Generally when you are with a group who paid for a table everyone who comes together enters together, this was not the case, Simply because two out of the four women who were with us were not light skinned or fair skinned women that they deemed suitable for the establishment. The security came to the rope after having a heated discussion with other members in our party who were at the door, only to say that myself and another friend were okay to come in with the group but he could only allow us two. That was not a compliment too either of us, it's really sickening that security would even use this type of treatment especially in this day and age. If you are of color and have a group of friends who don't fit the mold of hollywood save your friends the sheer embarrassment and don't go to this place. I felt completely ashamed for how our friends were treated and the lack of professionalism the entire door staff exuded. Luckily I'm a top journalist with a very large network of people and can't wait to rely the message in media not to visit this place since they lack tact and openly have an issue with women of color who don't look white, fair skinned or mixed.

Paid 1000$ for a "section that's private to stand in" and it was literally at the end of the bar behind a wall you can't see the dj. Got a bottle that was 600$ then paid 20% gratuity for a bartender to hand us cups and our bottle. Not worth it small venue annoyingly packed. Save yo money

Can I give Zero stars? It is obvious that staff has very poor experience in the service industry, at best... anti -gay at worst. Waited 2hr and 45 mins in line, just to see countless straight groups go in right in front of me. I was wearing a very flamboyant outfit.. I cannot find another explanation based on how the night went. I asked to speak with a manager and I was told manager was too busy in the backroom.. they even refused to give a business card.. it took some persistence to finally get a business card. Honestly, is it even worth suing? Horrible place. Stay away from such lunacy. Oh and it is not enough that your friends get a table there, you'll still be disrespected. First and last time visiting that "club"... if it goes out of business, it will be amazing to see if a real club replaces it. Also, the bouncers are super douchey.. watch out for that. By far the worst bar in LA so far... and I'm an LA native.

This place is HORRIBLE!! I would tell everyone to stay FAR from this place! First of all, they only let a certain type of girl in. If you are not half naked or white they will play with you and waste your time. They tell you to "talk to your promoter" to pass time and they tell you that they will "talk to you" before they let you in. It's degrading and rude: they let FLOCKS of their "standard" girl in before they let anyone else mess their image. My promoter made me wait 4 hours to meet him. The security guards make me wait until their entire conversation was over before I could even ask them a single question... so horrible This place is awful and an DEGRADING establishment... Stay far away

The tall, skinny guy wth a long bad hairdo at the door was unprofessional and prejudiced! This place is SO not worth going to. They make it seem like it's exclusive but really it's about how much money you have and who you know. The people who went through the doors were a mixed crowd, some not even dressed upscale, drug dealers, and just your average joe. I would rather go to a bigger, nicer club than a small, pretentious club...oh and where there are people with common courtesy and without drug deals taking place outside. Save your time and your money. Go somewhere else.

The men working outside, some bouncers, some who knows what, most though were 100 percent douchebags. So no area on the PUBLIC sidewalk is designated VIP vs general or regular admission. I asked a guy near the outside smoking area if he knew where the line was. He was no help and said up front idk. So I go up to this area he pointed to, then a Hispanic maybe Italian guy with a fade rudely comes up to me and says to me that I can't be where I am, in this tone like he was trying to put fear in me. I didn't know. So I ask nice and calmly where do I need to go. He tells me a different location, in the least helpful way possible. Not even allowing for me to ask followup questions. Eventually when they finally arranged for the night's guest tables to be arranged (I heard them speaking on walkie talkies about it) and Lil Kim is ready to leave her sprinter van, it was waiting in front for a good 30 min, they push the crowd that was building back again to a different location! A line forms here and many people wait. I'm like in the first 5 or so people, so I see everything going on and little to no movement in this line. Various people wait in this line with nobody coming up to them/us for 10-20 minutes. Eventually the line dwindles after fed up people depart. Then the combover, Nate Ruess/fun. (band) looking reject dude comes over rocking a trench coat when it's 65 degrees out and Nike's rudely says to the rest of us waiting in line, "what are you guys doing here?" As if we are idiots, and he has the nerve to say it in a tone like workers were actively servicing the patrons and telling people where they should be constantly and when they should call it a night! David Arquette, fvck this bougie, hires the worst of the worst sh!t hole. I'm not the only one from tonight who thinks this and even other people in the reviews have similar stories about poor treatment. 0/5 stars for terrible treatment and service.

This place looked amazing and like a really good time, unfortunately when I went up and waited in line to get in they asked if I was invited? I was confused by this as their website said nothing of this. I don't know whats going on inside, but men were dealing drugs by the VIP line in front of security and they were okay with it.... They had at least 5 security guards outside which seems excessive just to tell customers to go away. If they ever let people in without "knowing someone" it could actually be a cool place.

If you don't have no money stay home, this is exclusive shit ! They are only going to answer you! If you have the real money to spend #$$$$$$$$$$.

I frequent the Hollywood night life but never ever have I been so disgusted with any (minimum wage paid) door bouncers in my life. I've never had any problem getting into any club but these egotistical door bouncers on a power trip made it an issue. I seen them take money from multiple people who they let in for cash which they pocketed. They also let in other girls who kisses their a** (which I would never do). It was me and two other girls but for some reason we didn't make the "cut" lol. I give this place a thumbs down. Save your money and time and hit up somewhere else. The bouncers are rude, and not accommodating what so ever!!!!
