Had a nice dinner experience with the partner on a Saturday night. Venue is lovely and cosy. Food was mostly good, a few things could have been better. Wasn’t a fan of paying over $150 for the steak and then see I was charged $7 for the accompanying sauce. Probably a one and done for me. Slightly expensive for what it was i thought…. Service was attentive and friendly

We chose the grand banquet (five people) for a birthday lunch. Overall the food was very filling and tasty, especially the rib eye steak and roast spatchcock. Such nice ambience and attentive staff. For dessert, I love chocolate and the chocolate basque cheesecake was to die for

Came here a few years ago for our anniversary and couldn’t wait to come back. The grilled prawns are a must! We had the banquet for a table of four, usually don’t go for the banquet but this one definitely had all the highlights.

My Dad and I have made this our designated lunch spot. It’s always a pleasure to watch the Chef’s work while you enjoy their work. The front of house are all very polite and endearing. Awesome team effort that’s reflected in each visit. Cheers

We had an amazing dinner at Bopp & Tone! The food was fantastic-- everything we ordered was so flavorful, well portioned and cooked to the right doneness/crispness. Service was very attentive, and the ambience was warm, chic and cozy. Dinner with 3 drinks, 2 starters, 2 mains and 2 sides came to 290 AUD. Worth every penny. What a great last dinner in Sydney! We'll be back on future travels, for sure!

Geez. What a good experience. Took the hit and went for the grand banquet and it did not disappoint. Every dish was crafted to perfection and tasted absolutely sublime. My favourites were the grilled king prawns, the roasted spatchcock (just beware - those Turkish chillies are hot!) and the bone-in rib eye. Everything was cooked to perfection. The service from the staff was wonderful and the ambience was great. They have an extensive drinks menu to suit all taste buds. Overall, I highly recommend trying out the restaurant for an unforgettable food experience.

Can’t say enough good things! The Wagyu F1 T-Bone was one of the best steaks we’ve ever had. My husband also can’t eat seed oils so the staff ensured that for every dish we ordered, either a seed oil free version of the same dish or substitute was brought out. This restaurant is a Sydney staple.

It was ok. Nice layout with normal dining seating, outdoor seating, and some cute little booths. Music was loud though, so you had to sit close to talk, which made it a bit hard to have a conversation. We went for my partner’s birthday dinner and noted that in the booking, but there was no candle or birthday gesture with dessert, which is usually the norm at most restaurants. Staff were really attentive, no complaints there. Cocktails were fine, but not worth $27. We had the banquet menu, adjusted for allergies. The tuna tartare looked nice but had no crackers, and once you moved it around, it looked like it had been hacked up, no consistency in the cut. It also wasn’t cold, which was a bit off putting. We declined a replacement when offered. Tomato salad was decent but overloaded with beans. Lamb cutlets and prawns had the same marinade, way too salty and vinegary and did not go with the lamb at all. The lamb was very undercooked (rare) crust on the outside and deep pink with no gradient of brown on the inside. The prawns, zucchini flowers, and potatoes on the other hand were fantastic. The steak, you are not asked how you would like it prepared, it was brought out medium rare, although sections were blue, so either it wasnt brought to room temp first or it was cooked on too high heat/ not long enough, and didnt have its core temp checked before being sent out. Dessert was super rich chocolate mousse squares, could’ve used cream or something to cut through. Glad we tried it, but won’t be rushing back. We’ll stick to Bistecca for steak nights.

Yelp
Great place for a business dinner. We sat looking over the kitchen and OMG the attention to details and effort that goes into these amazing meals was second to none. The Steam I had was amazing and the several random entree items I had. Well worth a visit. 6 stars.

Yelp
A good vibe, great tunes, but the wine is a little overpriced. It is a great location to have a glass of red before the home commute on the bus or train from Wynyard station. Good wine list, clean facilities, and the decor is what you would expect from a wine bar/restaurant of a higher calibre. However, with other venues close by the offerings under $12 for a glass of wine are just not on the list. If you appreciate a finer wine, then this is the place, but sometimes it is nice to sit back at the bar, listen to some great tunes and just have that glass of wine without breaking the bank. Good friendly service, is what you will find here.

Yelp
Food wasn't bad, it was pretty good, but service was atrocious enough to never return. Was looking forward to this place too...

Yelp
This was my first visit to the restaurant. It was a busy mid week lunch time. I was hosting 3 others, all women, for a part business/part social catch-up. I had seen the menu on-line and was intrigued by some of the dishes. It's a great venue between George,Margaret and York streets. Decor is retro parlour without too much heavy drapery and dark colours. Lots of natural light and great outdoor seating on the verandah facing Carrington street. Menu is a combination of small and large plates. Meat dishes are prominent. For smalls, we had a wonderful chunky steak tartare, scallops in a vingerette on the half shell and a smashed eggplant/tomato/cucumber medley with hard toast. All were perfect. Presentation was wonderful. Then....45 mins later...2 great large plates arrived. Grilled Hawkesbury squid and grilled lamb chops with salsa verde. Sides of green beans and roasted cauliflower heads sprinkled with sesame or sliced pistachio slivers. Wonderful food. Portions were large enough to share among 4. I glanced at the wine list ( we abstained) and it looks broad and eclectic. Prices are slightly high. The menu, prep, ingredient pairing....all deserve a 5-star rating but the long wait for the second courses can't be overlooked. I will be back...it's one of the best restaurants in the Sydney CBD.

Yelp
Elegant and stylish dining establishment providing quality Australian meats and locally sourced ingredients in historic building. Rocked up to Bopp & Tone clad casually in beach wear. Was tempted not to eat here due to my casual appearance, as the guests in outdoor patIo were in business clothes. So pleased I ignored this and ate here. The host was friendly and seated us in the dining section. While we had an option to order food from the bar and seat ourselves, we opted to be seated in the dining area to await the 530 pm kitchen start time. The service was great the whole time. Shared the special appetizer of mozzarella with fig, basil and prosciutto. It tasted good. I was sold, very very surprisingly, by the yogurt and dukkah covered cauliflower. Usually, it's the vegetable I avoid. Wow it was tasty. The rib eye was prepared nicely. The chimichurri sauce that accompanied it was flavorful- be advised, a little goes a long way. The potatoes were the perfect balance of crispy and smooth. Could have been enhanced with a side of aioli. My husband annihilated the Australian mussels. The chocolate hazelnut mousse was presented beautifully. My favorite part was the Rocher-style crust and orange chocolate mousse filling. There was an elaborate chocolate mousse ribbon on top- beautiful to look at. The texture didn't appeal to my senses, much to the benefit of my husband. The restaurant is intimate, romantic and pricey. Well-worth it, in my opinion. I even liked the ladies room- very clean and historical. The portion sizes are large enough to share, and sharing is encouraged by the staff.

Yelp
This place can serve amazing dinner. The decor is classy and probably one of the most beautiful parlour style establishments there is in sydney. However, service and food was a let down. Not sure if this was a one off, but was gravely disappointed especially as I had brought someone to impress. The meal was overcooked and fish tasted off. Was ignored by the waiters and waitresses for a long time.
