Let me just start off by saying, I'm by no means a picky eater and I RARELY rate places I go to.
However, this experience was SO BAD that I had to let others know, because I lost my appetite and ate a donut for dinner instead.
Lets start off with the service. We got here to buy food To-Go about an hour before closing. The short lady at the register was very pressuring and not very helpful. Seems like she absolutely did not want to be there anymore, and she was right because she let us know she's overworked.
She started coughing so hard, everywhere, and to the point where she had to stop taking our order because she kept coughing. She came back with minor coughs ready again, and we attempted to order. But then she started coughing again... ok... I'm fully vaccinated, but doesn't mean I'm okay with coughing where I'm about to buy food I'm about to eat with my family and elderly parents.
She continued to cough, and apologized stating that she's COVID negative, and also told us she's very overworked and can't take a vacation or break because no one else can take over. She was not nice at all during this entire experience and was just trying to pressure us to leave so we cut our order short and skipped out on ordering more stuff.
After, we sat down, she continued to cough cus she was clearly very sick and overworked. The food was served pretty quickly, and she brought it to us. We asked for extra sauce, and were quickly denied because she said "there's already sauce in the bag". Okay... asked for chili oil peppers, and just got peppers, no chili oils. :(
Okay, so this place has a lot of good reviews, it must be good right? Did we just get unlucky??? Well the bad luck continues... we got home and unpacked our food and bam, burnt food. So much disappointment, if the food was good I would've easily skipped the bad review and sucked up the terrible service.
But the fact that we STILL got burnt food. The bad experience started the moment she first opened her mouth to us, all the way to when we tried eating the food at home. We had to scavenge throughout the food to find the non-burnt pieces of noodle to atleast try it. Seems like it would've been good if it didn't smell like burnt and tasted like burnt.
Again, I understand the pandemic can put restaurants through a rut. I also get the food service industry can be a difficult place to work in.
But the lady was not nice. She was CLEARLY too sick and overworked. I would've not been nearly as harsh if she was atleast nice to us and didn't try to get rid of us as quick as she could. The food was thrown away and no part of the experience was pleasant. A shame we were really close between this and another Thai restaurant nearby and chose this one.
I hope she can take a break or maybe hire an extra employee. I also wish the food wasn't burnt. :( wish the experience was as good as all the other reviews said it would be.
