The 35 Best Restaurants in Porto, Portugal | Eater

"A short walk from the Crystal Palace, Borboleta brings fresh energy to a part of Porto short on dining options. Founded by Russian duo Yana Korzyn and chef Kate Plotnikova, the cozy spot focuses on simple, shareable dishes. With a warm, homey atmosphere and a menu that changes often, it feels more like dining at a friend’s house than at a restaurant. Vibe check: When the weather’s in a good mood, snag a table in the hidden courtyard." - Rafael Tonon

Could you believe? We just arrived in Porto and went for a „welcome home“ dinner at Bordoleta. Really recommend… The Sommelier (even not yet certified) did great to recommend a pairing wine. For the starter seabass tartare was well executed with fresh lime and herbs. The sesame seed breaded seabass was little bit salty and octopus was better choice. And chocolate cake was Devine😋😋😋

We had our best dinning experiences in Portugal in this beautiful secret garden of Borboleta. The service was so warm and on the point. We were cheerfully greeted and feel very welcomed by the staff. We tried their blueberry fish tartare, octopus and lime pie. We really highly recommend all of them. The flavor profile was clean, delicate and very well balanced. We hope we can come back again and I will definitely recommend this hidden gem to friends who will visit Porto!

I had a really great time at Borboleta. The place has such a pleasant, cozy atmosphere, and the staff were genuinely lovely — warm, attentive, and just easy to talk to. I tried the Sesame-crusted sea bass fillet, and it was honestly delicious. The fish was very tender, super flavorful, and prepared in a way I don’t usually see. For dessert I went for the Chocolate Guinness cake, and it turned out to be a great choice — rich, moist, and a bit unusual in a really nice way. Overall, it’s a spot I’d happily come back to: great vibe, great people, and really tasty food.

Great place. The food is very tasty and completely different from the usual. Well cooked and well presented. An explosion of flavors. The garden is lovely and has a great vibe. The ideal place for a slow lunch on a nice summer's day. The staff are attentive and friendly. I recommend it 100%

One of the best meals I've ever had. Everything was amazing, the atmosphere, the service, but especially the food. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the ingredients were harvested the day we ate, everything was so fresh. It also feels like an authentic, but adventurous take on typical Portuguese cuisine. Don't miss out on this gem if you are in Porto!

I can’t understand the bad reviews here. This place is great! Good wine and knowledge about it. I tried the chef’s fish tasting menu and was not disappointed. Great salmon strawberry tartare, tender and delicious octopus and a lime pie to die for. Paired with their home made limoncello for which I tried desperately to get the recipe 😁. Overall maybe a bit pricier than other places on the region but in my opinion not at all beyond reason. Go for it - you won’t be disappointed!

Delightful spot for an outstanding lunch, especially in the quiet and peaceful garden. The rosemary focaccia was delightful with wonderful marinated olives. But the highlight was the most perfect octopus I've ever had. The pan seared calamari was almost as good.
