Border Grill

It’s so hard for me to eat at places like this because I honestly compare them all to chipotle, which is my favorite fast Mexican. The food here was just okay. The salsa tasted like fresh puréed tomatoes, and reminded me more of pasta sauce. The tacos order came with one taco, which was fine. The chicken was not seasoned with anything special. My boyfriend said he liked his bowl. We got a side of queso and it was good. Pretty sure it was velveta cheese.

First time ever going to the restaurant, and I must say, the food is absolutely great 👍. The service was awesome. I told the cashier that I had never been to the restaurant, that it is my first time going, and she helped me through the menu and getting my order right. The atmosphere was also great, not too loud, and the outside part of the restaurant was great. We also ate outside of the restaurant.

Gotta love that Border Grill. Totally customized burrito experience, swapping in this or that. Always a good satisfying eat.

Disappointed. I ordered a chicken gourmet burrito with brown rice, what I received was a burrito with literally just chicken and LIME rice in it. I just don’t know how you can mess it up that bad. Very inconsistent. The lack of guac, salsa, and cheese on my burrito was very depressing and sad. The border salsa is fire though I’ll give them that

We had a large group of 6 people. We were not greeted aponarriving. The staff stood at the end of the counter talking. The food was just not worth it. The salsa is orange and tastes like Campbell's tomato soup. The kids did not enjoy anything except the chips.

Really liked the smoky burrito. Nice and spicy, a good meal. The border salsa was killer. Wonder what makes it orange. I thought, 'why did they give me natcho sauce 😅' Really a unique restraunt! Soo good!

No matter the location you choose, Border Grill offers a clean friendly environment and fresh tasty choices. Friendly staff who seem to take pride in their Jobs. Whitefish tacos are always amazing as are the border bowls and burritos. Must try the border sauce if you stop in. Also recommend the basmaic salad with steak and the Cesar wrap. The new summer strawberry salad is excellent. Any local will name this place as a stand out and favorite, especially in the Neguanee restaurant as there aren't a plethora of options.

THANK YOU!! I'm here to send the kudos to the Negaunee team. Everything at the Border Grill is good, but you have clearly upped your burrito game. My husband raved about his latest burritos and went to some length to tell me why. He is so impressed at how much more moist and flavorful the burritos are now. (He usually orders the Grande, so he would be the one to notice the difference from burrito to burrito.) For our latest order, I made a point of seeing what was new/featured on the menu. Without a second thought I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala burrito and feel as if I got a two-fer: a terrific burrito AND an amazing new flavor combo. I seriously hope this burrito stays on the menu (the red chile brisket, too, please!?) because it's a new favorite. As I told my husband, that burrito could easily slip into my favorite meal routine. It's a keeper! Just when I think I've learned all there is about our local burrito hook-up, you make it all better. Negaunee Border Grill rocks!

This place is definitely overrated. The food is just mediocre. I actually think Taco Bell is tastier and way more affordable. But for my 7 and 10 year old great granddaughters it was a real treat. One of their favorite places to go. But for me, I was not impressed. The interior is pretty cool because there is upstairs seating and the girls loved that. If you love Mexican food this isn't the place.

they forgot our chips when we specifically ordered them clearly. we had to go back up and reorder them do not go here!! (chips are stale)

The place was clean and well staffed. We ordered our food and brought our dog into the outdoor seating section. Just when we thought they were going to ask us to remove our pet, they instead brought out a dog bowl full of water and gave her a dog bone. Outstanding touch of class and service. The food was very good too.

If I could give them zero stars I would. Me and my friend went there for dinner, after our meal we stopped at the restroom. when we walked out we heard two of the workers talking smack about us. we could clearly tell it was about us since we were the only customers in there since they were about to close they were being completely rude as we walked out, they stopped talking and looked guilty. Do not come here. Customer service is bad. Other than the costumer service the food was delicious.

The food here used to be so good. Not anymore. 1 star is being super generous! I've ordered steak quesadillas from here for years. The last 2 times we ordered, they stacked them in the box and it was a cold, soggy, disgusting mess. At this point they make taco bell look like gourmet Mexican food. I'd be embarrassed to work or manage this place. The food is unacceptable and they should close their doors

Let me just start by saying the food here is amazing. The food is very good for the price and it's very fast as well. Yes don't think i've ever waited any longer for twenty minutes. The customer service has always been good and the employees are very friendly. The border salsa is amazing and goes with just about everything and it's almost good enough to drink. Overall I 100% recommend it.

I am generally very easy going when it comes to mistakes because I know they happen. I'm fact, this is my first every yelp review. But for the 2nd straight time there has been a mistake with my pickup order from BG Negaunee. The last time, they simply forgot the chips we ordered. No big deal, it happens. But this time (after checking we got everything before leaving) I get home to find that one of the meal orders was wrong. And not that they made the wrong item, they gave me someone else's. One box had a correct item with my order name on it, while the other box was someone else's order entirely with a completely different name. Seems to be a lack of attention to detail at this establishment, and I really hope management can fix it as it's one of our favorite places. But if not, it would not be worth to risk our business by ordering from here anymore.

Food is good but almost Everytime I go through the drive through they get my order wrong. I've went in and told them they got it wrong respectfully and the chef sat there at complained about me coming in to say they got it wrong. Then I get my order I ask if they're is border salsa and is it gluten free she said yes they ended up getting it wrong again.

Person at counter was amicable, however there was only my boyfriend, myself and 1 group of 4 teenagers in. It took 15 minutes for our order of 2 quesadillas and 2 burritos and chips and cheese. They also forgot to put rice with a burrito and didn't give us one of the quesadillas. Better training on ensuring orders are accurate would be beneficial. Do better with your management.

I have to say I have always been a big fan of border grill and the border burrito. However the last few times at the Negaunee location have been less than impressive. It takes forever to get your food in what should be. semi-fast food environment, staff don't know the menu (could tell us what some of the meat choices were, and were rude or didn't know what to do when the order didn't come out right). Recently, I got the shrimp quesadilla and the tortilla wasn't even cooked and the shrimp was barley grilled. My wife got a chicken and rice bowl and the rice was still hard and the it came out cold. This has happened the last few times at this location and probably won't be back

This place is awesome! Have been coming here for two years and they are so consistent and the service keeps getting better. Border Grill is what Chipotle and Qdoba aspire to be. The food is very fresh, delicious and timely. It's a very casual place. It's perfect for lunch! Great for kids as well. They serve beer at the Marquette location which is also great! Highly recommend! Please open a location for us down south in the Mitten such as Novi, Canton, Ann Arbor, Plymouth,etc! Just to suggest a few places where you would do so well (also close to my house).

The Border Salsa is so addicting. No matter what you order (my favorite is the Border burrito with chicken and Mexican rice), order extra salsa. Everything is fresh, inexpensive and delicious. You can call ahead if you're in a hurry or dine in. There is a frequent buyer program, too. Love it!

Really, this was terrible food. I asked what kind of sautéed vegetables on a quesadilla and I was told oh you know, lettuce and tomatoes. Ok. The tacos have no cheese? Putting a corn tortilla in a microwave to make it pliable doesn't make it good. Just terrible. This is the second time I gave it a shot, I've learned my lesson.

The food was alright, and to be honest disappointing. I haven't had it in a while and was so excited to have it again while I was back in town, but it does not live up to what it used to be. The border salsa is different along with the options for the burritos. Plus I didn't like that when you order online there isn't an addition that is open (my mother likes extra spinach but it's not possible). Not a fan of the new changes, probably won't bother next time I'm in town.

Good food at a fair price. I typically call ahead and use the pickup window. The border salsa is delicious!

I've eaten at A LOT of burrito places - my home town even houses the astounding very first Pancheros and I'd have to say, this place was delish. A must stop if you ever find your self stopping through here

Border grill use to be the best place to go while in Marquette. I recently came home to visit from a California and it just wasn't the same. My order was messed up when I went to pick it up in the drive through but the ladies inside were so nice about it and got me a new one which I appreciated but i feel like the taste and quality just isn't the same. Plus it's SO expensive for such a small portion.

Best fast Mexican food in the Negaunee area. Menu is vegetarian and vegan friendly. Outgoing employees that happily ask to take your plate when you're finished.

We made an impromptu stop for dinner and were not disappointed. We were met with a friendly greeting by staff at this little strip mall location. The space is open and clean and comfortable. The food was prepared quickly and I was surprised how delicious it was, given another review here on Yelp. Our food was every bit as satisfying as it is at the Boarder Grill in Marquette. I will happily return the next time I am in the area during lunch or dinner.

It's ok for the price. The veggies were fresh and chips good. Not authentic but no one expects authentic near the northern border.

Stopped in for a quick lunch while passing through negaunee, fast and friendly service, my order of a grande chicken burrito with chips, border salsa, and a mango Jarritos soda was delicious! The burrito is full of fresh ingredients and the meal is a good price for everything they give you

Found this place on Yelp and stopped in for a to-go burrito order. If you're looking for a quick bite to eat with mexican flare, this is a great stop. This was a perfect chicken burrito- good size, tasty chicken and guacamole. The housemade salsa is really tasty as well. If I weren't just passing through town, I would totally go back to this place.

I've given this place many tries, because I really do want to like it, and the locals seem to go crazy for it. But I just can't get on board. It seems over priced for what you get, takes too long, and takes just ok. The last couple times I have gotten a burrito, I haven't felt the best afterwards either. I can make better Mexican food at home.

Love this food. Live out of town and a stop at Border Grill is a must. Fast and friendly service. Everything is fresh and yummy. I haven't figured out what the "orange" sauce is made of but it doesn't really matter, its soooo good.

Probably the worst "Mexican" food I have ever had. I ordered steak tacos which I asked for just meat and cheese and I got tacos overloaded with lettuce and drenched in some terrible sauce. The little steak there was, was overcooked and dry. I have had a better meal at Taco Bell. This is also the only Mexican place where the Burritos don't have rice and beans in them.

Always have enjoyed the fine Mexican fare at Border Grill. Our restaurant of choice in Negaunee for good healthy food and great service!
