Great coffee (espresso and flat white) and delicious pastries. It's definitely worth a visit if you're in Leiden.

Arguably one of the best filter coffee cafés in Leiden, great croissants and breakfasts! Wide range of beans for purchase and a small-cozy atmosphere. However usually incredibly busy so be prepared to wait a bit for your order. Otherwise a very recommendable place!

One of my all-time favourite spots for a quick lunch and coffee in Leiden! The staff are incredibly kind and friendly, even when they’re absolutely rushed off their feet and the place is heaving. The food always tastes lovely, and they refresh the menu with new items periodically, which keeps things interesting. I also like the handsoap in their restroom—so much that I ended up getting the same ones for home. :) I’ve been coming here for about a decade now, and I still pop in whenever I can. ❤️

No discussion about the quality of their coffees or cakes, it’s nice. However, I do not appreciate the owner’s behaviour, he’s a very grumpy and rude person. In terms of customer loyalty there’s a long way to go. I used to visit this place regularly but after the owner’s idiotic behaviour I’m boycotting this place. Have some respect for your visitors and don’t be rude under any circumstances. Such a waste of time and waste of your money to go here.

Minimalism maximized. I loved the atmosphere, the coffee was perfect, and the cake was brilliant. I recommend the place, especially for specialty coffee geeks, but for everybody with a focus on Scandinavian-style quality.

If you are looking for a sophisticated and yet authentic batch brew coffee, this is your place in Leiden. The espresso absolutely holds its own, and I have never tasted a better cardamom scroll. Breakfast out is hard to find, and this place is a must

The cinnamon bun had no deep cinnamon flavor or sweetness, the dough was quite dense as well which made it very heavy. The banana bread was hard to describe, you tasted banana, but there was some sort of extra flavor which was a bit weird and hard to place. The orange juice should be filtered as well.

Fantastic coffee, both in how they roast and prepare drinks, and I am coming from Portland and where we are totally spoiled for amazing roasters and cafes. Shop is small but bright. Can sometimes be hard to snag a seat but they offer cups to go. We often grab something on saturdays to sip on while we shop the outdoor market. Staff is friendly but not overly in-your-face friendly which is just fine by me.

Nice espresso. Better than must of the places in leiden. But... Since this is a place that praises Itself as an excellent choice for coffee lovers... The Colombia was a "tiny bit" under extracted. This gave a lot of high notes while the lower where hidden. The baristas where not super friendly, not rude... OK for dutch standards.

As third wave coffee goes, Borgman delivers distinctively unique and uplifting brew. Though the cafe is petite, it has an atmosphere of sit and socialize but also focus-in and be creative if one is working. Their iced vanilla latte is scrumptious and they even provide a biscotto on the side to complement. Taking iced coffee to-go is fairly difficult since they don't have the plastic cups, only paper ones for warm drinks. Altogether it's a smartly decorated cafe that makes you want to stick around and sip your favorite pick-me-up in the roasted coffee bean air.

They are open pretty early most days. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The coffee is great and their croissant are fresh.

Possibly the finest place for coffee in Leiden. The first thing you notice when entering the shop is a coffee roaster. Borgman&Borgman roasts their own coffee blend and interesting single estate espressos.

My favourite coffee and coffee place in Leiden. I love going there for a quick chat or a morning of work. The coffee is great, the owners are nice and on a sunny day you can sit at the canal and enjoy the passing boats and pedestrians. They roast their own coffee and have excellent croissants.
