Best Kosher-Friendly Restaurants, Delis, and Bakeries in Metro Detroit | Eater Detroit

"A small neighborhood deli known for towering, generously filled sandwiches and crispy side latkes, with a broad menu that also lets customers buy meats by the pound and pick up sweet treats such as halva bars—good for informal holiday meals or sandwich-centric orders." - Serena Maria Daniels

As soon as I walked into this deli, I knew I'd love this place. They have it decorated in a way that makes you feel right at home. Go hungry, and you will still leave with half your sandwich. Thank you Boris!

The perfect Deli, food is wonderful, care to every detail in preparing meals, from fresh cooked turkey to the corned beef, and of course the homemade cookies. family owned, great people, great food and reasonably priced. Only 4 tables to dine in, but with the nice weather, take it to go and enjoy your meal at a park picnic table, 😉

First time in and we couldn’t be happier! We have driven by so many times over the years and can’t believe we waited to try their food! Cute place , with pleasant staff! Met Uncle Boris too! We had a pastrami/corned beef, swiss, coleslaw with russian dressing, all on grilled light rye bread! The sandwich was so big, I cut it in half and saving for the next day! We will be back! Thank you for the delicious sandwich!

Ordered a Ruben with no cheese in stead I got different sandwich with cheese which would have been an issue if I wasn't allergic. We called the store to let them know that they messed up instead the person on the other end gaslighted us about our sandwich and wouldn't listen to the problem. The foods good but the customer service is lacking especially when it comes to allergies.

4.67/5 Boris's has such a homey atmosphere to the point where I was disappointed I ordered to-go. Treated with such friendly service and good convo that would make getting a casual dinner there so enjoyable. The portions are gigantic - I got multiple meals out of one sandwich. Loved the pierogies that were offered as a special and the cabbage soup was phenomenal. My only recommendations are to add more dressing or give it on the side for the sandwich and maybe a little less vinegar in the coleslaw recipe? I always look forward to good coleslaw with a sandwich and wasn't a fan. The good certainly outweighs all else and I can't wait to go back. 🥪

A friend brought me the brisket meal for my first time having food there. This food is so good. The brisket, mashed potato, corn the salad all amazing and the portion is very big. There is enough to have for two meals at least. Thank you so much for making such great food at great prices. The very best I’ve had in a long time.

I was actually excited to try some food around here that wasn’t from a chain restaurant - but this place is a joke. I ordered a club “sandwich” and literally laughed out loud when I opened the box. While yes, these are technically the ingredients to a club sandwich, this is not a sandwich at all… it is literally just a pile of meat and chopped vegetables (that somehow took 20 min to make). The ideal deli sandwich should be able to be held in your hands, and you should get a little bit of *every ingredient in every bite*. This sandwich was NOT that haha… Some of the turkey slices are over a half inch thick, the bread is almost non existent, everything is super dry, and despite the HUGE portions of everything else, I think there were only two measly slices of bacon. So yeah, this place is great if you want a meal to give to your dog or something, but don’t come here expecting anything resembling an actual sandwich.

Such an incredible place to eat! Huge portions, freshly made, amazing selection. The lady at the counter is a peach and always super helpful. Their desserts are made there daily and to die for! There are a few tables inside to eat at as well. Highly recommend!!!
