We enjoyed a sandwich and a cinnamon roll. Both were delicious and the atmosphere inside is quite pleasant. Ordering ahead online is a good idea if you don't want to wait. We were not in a hurry, so waiting awhile for our food wasn't a problem. We look forward to going back.

My partner and I visited this lovely establishment for the first time. We ordered the chopped Italian sandwich and the burrata and prosciutto sandwich. We were absolutely blown away! The sandwiches were so well made, the orange juice had a really fresh taste and all around I’m thinking about what to get next time I come by! Wonderful experience all around, huge thank you to the Born and Bread Crew!

If you’re ever craving a pastry that feels like it’s made with love from an European bakery that is the place. This place has blown my mind, and everything is delicious and incredibly well made. A MUST try if you’re ever in the area. Would recommend doing a preorder for ahead of time because they sell out fast!

Really good food and coffee. The vibe was nice. Warning they are super busy and the line was out the door but worth the wait. Quick and efficient service. They are super kind and informative. Will come back and bring more friends.

Really cool store, love the displays. Everything tasted fresh, and it was really good. I got a cinnamon roll, it has plenty of icing and cinnamon. Definitely would go again.

1st time visiting & it was great. You are given nicknames for when your order is ready. I thought that was cool. The goodies that we got were awesome. The workers were friendly. Will most likely go there again but you'll have to get there when they open or place an order a day before.

OMG!!! This was an AMAZING place for breakfast! I love how all the sandwiches are showcased in the window. And the croissants! Wow wow wow!! Delish! We will mlse certainly eat here again! They are doing it right!

I have loved going to born and bread ever since I found them on Facebook and knew they were exactly what I wanted for my wedding day! They were wonderful to work with and the guests were thrilled!

Always delicious, we went early to pick up our order and my husband ended up buying an apple pie while we were waiting. Since we were so early the line wasn't terribly long, but even with being there at 7:06 and preordering online before going, it still took 15 minutes to get our order. If you wait till after 8am, it takes even longer to get your stuff, so make sure you go early! The pastries are delicious, and my nephew and I love to eat the four cheese sourdough. I bought 2 loaves since we eat them over the week while we are down here. We always make sure to go whenever we come since we live in TN and we don't have one up there. The store is clean and dimly lit, but everyone is nice and the food is delicious.

Born & Bread Bakehouse is the place I measure up every other bakery in Lakeland and the surrounding area. NO ONE has Cinnamon rolls that can compare. Their cruffins are flaky outside and the perfect amount of filling wrapped in the layers but the icing drizzled over the top makes them an experience. Their sourdough bread loaves are so good it is hard to not eat an entire loaf in one day! Their store itself is adorably eclectic yet rustic. You can dine in but getting a seat will be a major challange because they are so busy! You are best to order ahead since the line stretches down the block to get in on a normal day. Holiday pick up is insane! But the wait is worth it. But, check their hours as they are only open a few days a week. If you really need a B&B fix, you can find a limited selection of their offerings at Publix in Lakeland (Miriam Square I believe). It wont be quite as fresh, but when it tastes so good, will you really notice? LOL

I love me some Born and Bread. I've been coming here for years, before they were ever open multiple days a week! Friends and I would drive all the way from Tampa just to get some of their goodies - worth it!! The ordering system is a bit more complicated now, but it's easier to get what you want because they're open more days a week. I still highly recommend doing an online order for pickup though. Every single baked goods and sandwich that I've had is incredible. I cannot emphasize enough that they knock it out of the park, always, every time, never had a miss. Their coffee is nothing to write home about, but that's not why you go (go to concord coffee after grabbing your goods for an elite combo). Make sure that you get enough for a few days, because you're gonna be bummed when it's all gone!

This is the best bakery we have ever been to. You may come out broke but it's worth every penny. There's always a long wait but if you preorder that helps some. The pumpkin coffee cake is amazing. Also, we like the apple fritter cruffins.

When you go to a place an see a long line you already know you're in for a good treat, the aroma of pastry hits you when you approach the door. I got a few items to get a good taste of what is made there and I loved every bite I got I will definitely be going back.

This bakery has some amazing food. We've only been a couple times and it's usually pretty busy, today was actually a pretty chill day since the line only had one group of customers in front of us. I ordered the peanut butter cold brew and it tasted strong of peanut butter. I love it. I also ordered the almond croissant which is just fantastic, I've gotten it every time. I forgot to take pictures of the other stuff we got but it was also delicious. The sausage biscuit, baklava cheesecake bostock, and the hot cocoa cruffin. The almond croissant is my favorite, along side the cinnamon roll they have. Only issue is it took 30 minutes to get our items, which it feels like shouldn't take more than 5 minutes for any order when all the pastries are already done and directly behind the cashier. Should just be able to pluck them off the racks and hand them to you. 30 minutes was a bit over the top. Otherwise it would be 5stars.

Sooooo, I've been wanting to go to this bakery for ages now but never make it in time...until now... Wow!!!! I'm at a loss of words. I'm secretly eating my chocolate chip cookie I got to-go for when my kids went to bed. I'm pretty sure all moms are nodding their heads now...been there, done that! This cookie was phenomenal! So chewy on the inside and crunchy on the edges. This was $4 well spent! As for the other food we ordered (croissant, biscuit egg broccolini sandwich, granola, hot dog deliciousness), it was excellent too! I couldn't take pictures of the other food because...well...I had hangry children, so you will just have to take my word for it. Everything was amazing! The line was long, but it went fast. We were too late for the sold-out cruffins, but we will most definitely be coming back! P.S. If you have toddlers/younger kids and need a place to burn off the carbo load, head to Common Ground Park. It's a great park and a perfect place to let the kids run around before your commute back home!

Quite possibly the best gluten free cookie I've ever had My husband had a breakfast sandwich that he said was 11/10. I appreciate that they have a gluten free cookie, but sadly, we had to go somewhere else because there wasn't much I could eat for breakfast. They have gluten free granola as a take home option, but don't have yogurt, etc to eat it there. All of the pastries are beautiful. The environment is hip and comfortable. The staff are super friendly and fun. I think they are totally rocking it as a bakery and I would absolutely return for a sweet treat.

I wandered past here when I was on a walk. I was hit by the wonderful smells when I opened the door. I was one of the 1st customers, but the business quickly picked up from there. Everything looked tasty! It is great getting to see the food displayed with the product name. I can tell if I want it or not by seeing it. I ordered the broccolini biscuit. I am a sucker for biscuits, and eggs and veggies are always a winning combo. This biscuit did not disappoint. The service was great and sealed with a compliment about my smile:) I would love to try some of the pastries as well. Maybe when I visit the area again I can add this to the agenda.

I have been wanting to try this place forever and finally went this past weekend. Everything we got was so delicious! I can't wait to go back to try more goodies. I love the online ordering option and the service was great. Highly recommend!!

Let me give y'all forehead kisses. Improvements were MADE. They now bag things separately! My hot biscuit sandwich was HOT like warm and fresh. I didn't get a cruffin but best believe the a lemon poppy twist and raspberry danish. Flavor town USA. I'm excited to start coming back for seasonal cruffins! As always the staff were killing it. But never had problems with them.

I saw this place online and decided I needed to make the drive from Orlando to try it out! A friend and I came on a Thursday to avoid the weekend crazy and got there around 11:30. I was worried about parking and seating but we lucked out with both. When we got inside there was only had one other person in front of us. The line did grow to the door while we were there but they move through it quickly and everyone seemed to be able to sit that wanted to. There is additional seating outside as well as ample parking in the rear. For sandwiches we tried the Turkey Swiss and the chicken salad. Both were delicious and of ample size. My only complaint is they didn't cut the sandwiches in half which is an issue when you want to share or even eat it yourself as it is a large sandwich! The turkey also had a herb mayo on it that was very garden fresh. I wasn't sure I liked it but it grew on me. We also tried the peanut butter ice coffee and the Vietnamese iced coffee. Both were very good and the PB one wasn't as strange as I thought it would be. However the Vietnamese one was the true stand out. We got cruffins (Vietnamese coffee and Boston cream) as well as cookies to go. The Boston cream one was good and flaky but the cream had an odd taste to it that I can't place. The cookies were very cake like (puffy) but had good flavor. Would I drive over an hour to go again? I'm honestly not sure but if I was in the area I would absolutely stop again.

Every time we go here it's always a hit! If you go on a weekend, be sure to preorder the night before so you can go straight to the pickup line. Wednesdays aren't bad at all and you'll wait in line maybe 5-10 minutes tops. The vegan peanut butter coffee is the BEST! Also highly recommend the cinnamon roll, breakfast sandwiches, and pretty much every single bakery item they offer. The decor is adorable and I love that they have indoor and outdoor seating. Highly recommend!

I stopped by here on the way back from Tampa and wow this place did not disappoint. It's been a couple of weeks and I still think about born and bread occasionally lol! I absolutely loved their banana bread muffin and it was vegan; it was so fluffy and moist and filled with cream on the inside which was delicious and just complimented the muffin so well! I also ordered the sausage + hot honey breakfast biscuit, which was also pretty good; my only complaint was that it was a bit on the oily side and more sweet and less hot than I imagined. I paired this with the peanut butter latte, which for someone who loves peanut butter, I did not like it at all! I've never had a PB latte, but I also don't think I did well in pairing it with other sweet items. Overall, the staff here is so kind. The wait for our food was a bit long but this place gets some good foot traffic. I love the southern rustic aesthetic it has. All the pastries are out for display which makes it tempting to not want to get everything, but everything looks so fresh and delicious. Will definitely make my way back to this cute and yummy place whenever I'm close by!

Speechless is what I am. I have never in my life tasted pie that was so good. Our family ordered a pumpkin pie from here on Thanksgiving and we were beyond impressed. We had to go back and get more! Decided to also try the key lime pie which was also delicious. This pumpkin pie here is officially my favorite dessert and I'm shocked to say this because I've have not been huge on pies before. The service and ambiance here were also lovely. It feels like you're in a nice cozy place that's so warm and inviting.

This bakery is awesome! Every item is better than the next! This is a MUST if you are in Lakeland!!!!

In Lakeland, about an hour from Tampa or Orlando, this place gets rave reviews: - Open Wednesday to Saturday, 7 am to 2 pm (till 1 pm Saturdays). - Plan for about a 20-minute wait in line, but you can order online. - Menu changes daily, with seasonal goodies. They sell out fast, so order a day ahead--I missed their strawberry croissant at 11 am. - Must-tries are their croissant and cruffin. The glazed croissant was sooo good. The cruffin was crispy outside and soft inside. - Tried the Morning Vietnam cold brew, not too sweet. - Lots of parking in the rear - On Saturdays, a quick 5-minute drive takes you to Lakeland Downtown Farmers Curb Market, 8 am to 2 pm. Lots of parking, handmade stuff, fresh produce, deli treats. Cool shops like Scout & Tag.

During my second time visiting Lakeland I reviewed some Yelp places and heard of this place. The owner used to work with the famous Zak the Baker in Miami. It is close to Downtown Lakeland and went on a Saturday. They close at 1 pm on weekend and on weekdays at 2 pm. Closed Sunday-Tuesday. Their menu is delicious. From croissants, breakfast sandwiches to butters and jellies. I ordered the peanut butter iced coffee with oatmeal. The employee told me it was good and it really was. The flavor spectacular. I shared with my daughter the Benton's Bacon Breakfast Sandwich. It had the most fabulous flavor. It had cheese, bacon and arugula on sourdough. Definitely a place to go visit. They sell whole loafs, croissant glazed and would Love to try their Chive biscuit. It's a cute place to meet someone for coffee and a place to spend a Saturday morning.

Love this place. Chill nice vibe. Breakfast sandwiches to the double chocolate chip walnut cookie, so good. My only complaint is they don't have the sticky bun available as often as I want it to be.

This is beyond perfection! Everything was divine, every pastry is made with so much love, so much flavor. Nothing was overly sweet but everything hits the spot. We got a few breakfast sandwiches and a few pastries. You can't go wrong with what you pick, I know they have seasonal pastries so make sure to get what you like because it might not be on the menu the next time around. The service was great, easy to place an order. We went during the week to avoid all the long lines and wait. There's allot of table indoors and out doors, you should do yourself a favor and try everything at this establishment. I cannot wait to return.

Now, that's a good pastry! I finally made the drive to here after hearing about this bakery opening up in Lakeland. I tried two different pastries -- both with different flavors that were so delicious. I had the double chocolate raspberry croissant and bahama mama cruffin. One was chocolately and the other very tropical! I would definitely come down here again as I love how they rotate different pastries through their menu. The loaves of bread -- by the way -- are massive here! I highly recommend pre-ordering from their website as the lines can sometimes be long and the items can run out. The bakery itself is very nice and clean, and has a good amount of indoor seating.

Man, this place makes me want to move to Lakeland just to have this place more accessible. The idea that they're so good they only have to be open on Wed and Sat for half days is giving main character vibes. Let me tell you, it is well deserved, I will gladly wait here for 45 min and say thank you for the opportunity lol. The menu is seasonal but I got the Cuban Frita $5.75, Dark chocolate sea salt cronut $4.75 and the Olive loaf $7. If they're on the menu, don't hesitate, run. But honestly you could do no wrong with anything you pick :)

Born and Bread is incredible!! It's only open Wednesdays and Saturdays. We've visited twice once back in 2020..ish and again recently. When we first visited they were only doing online orders, which went very smoothly. Last Saturday, we just decided to stop in this time, and did wait a good hour. Pro top, you can pre-order the day before and skip the line. They rotate new items and they had a lot of fall stuff but I was unfortunately too late, all sold out by the time I ordered. :( We ordered the olive loaf, $7. I feel like it's an absolute must if you like olives and sour dough! For sweets, we got the bourbon banana chocolate croissant (my favorite, I had to order it a second time and I typically don't like to order the same thing), the salted sea salt cruffin and the Cuban Frito. Yes, you NEED to visit Born and Bread if you haven't already! It's a nice day trip and there are plenty of fun parks or things to explore in Lakeland!

Before coming to Lakeland I researched the best places to eat. yelp and TikTok truly hit the nail on the head with this one!!!! EVERYTHING about this bakery was phenomenal! Parking was easily accessible. I preordered based upon recommendations off line. We ordered enough pastries for the weekend. Everything was amazing. We got coffee and I chose the peanut butter coffee, which was absolutely delicious but different pastries were absolutely delicious. Guava and cheese wants the perfect ratio of cheese and guava. I think my favorite was the hot honey pepperoni and a tropical pastry that had coconut pineapple and passionfruit flavors. Hands-down, I will totally come back over and over again and the locals are so right the best pastry shop I've ever been to.

I came here it's my son my daughter my sister and her son as well. We preordered our food and it was great. We ordered a few muffins. A couple of sweet pastries and I ordered three savory pastries for me and my kids. They tried the ham and cheese croissants and I had a kale and squash type of pastry. The only thing I wished that was different was that they would have heated our croissants and the savory pastries. Other than that I feel like the taste was great. The crunch on the croissants and the bread was amazing. And the vibes were on point.

Very busy spot! If you're looking for fresh baked goods in the morning, this is the spot! Just make sure you are up early! The line was almost out the door. But, trust me, it was worth it! I had a glazed croissant and my son had a chocolate chip cookie. The cookie was huge! The croissant was to die for. I ordered an almond croissant to take home. I wish I had ordered more because the next day when I had it with coffee, I wanted another one! They are a local business! Please support! You will not regret it!

Cute and very busy bakery. This place is popular. Stopped here on a road trip and got a few pastries. My glazed croissant was decadent and definitely not meant for the road lol. Nice service and a nice stop. Decor is Americana, very Americana.

Never again, drove from Orlando. Checked the sign outside, said everything was available and waited in line 20 minutes come to find out basically nothing was available and they only care about pre-orders. Before CoVid they actually cared about their walk in customers and kept the sign updated. Clearly all they care about now are preorders. I even went and old the guy at the register and still no one could go update the sign. They just kept misleading customers. Will never be back. Such a disappointing establishment.

For the past year and a half, every Wednesday has been my treat day, and Born to Bread is where I go for something special. I indulge in a sandwich, a croissant, and sometimes the best chocolate chip cookie on earth. Walking into this gem feels like stepping into a bakery in London or Paris-a little escape to two of my favorite cities in the world. Born to Bread is an incredible family-owned bakery, and there's truly nothing like it in Central Florida. The dedication and love the owner and her team pour into each pastry and sandwich are unmatched. Every bite is remarkable, and the quality is evident in everything they make. If you live in Lakeland, this place is a must for your weekly routine. And if you're in Central Florida, it's absolutely worth the drive. Don't miss out on this amazing experience!

Food is good. The people they suck if they don't see you every day, they treat you bad. They respond with dumb wittiness that is not needed, especially in the morning.

While it's been 9 years since my first review, the rating is the same. The food items are delicious and innovative, both sweet and savory. Not a bad item in the house. Was glad when she moved to a brick & mortar and expanded her days of availability. However, location, location, location. Parking is a 0 on a 10 scale. Dirt lot in the alley or illegally parking at some local businesses. Long walk around or down a trashy or storage-used ramp in back. Place is dark, like a dungeon. Even pre-orders have to wait--they can butt the line but their orders aren't ready & waiting. Those whose order requires NO cooking, no beverage making, could simply be put in a bag and out the door; yet they must wait for orders in front of them that do require prep. Pretty shameful with 10 employees that one can't bag these immediately to go but nope, they get to hang by the bathroom for 20 minutes. Thus it's still a rare treat to go here. The parking and the immediate service for no prep foods could increase profits. She's also the most expensive for her food products compared to the other croissant folks in the county. I get baked goods 2x/wk. I go to B&B for them 2x/year. Pity.

Went on a recommendation from a friend on my way to pick up son from college for the summer. I live nowhere near here so cannot return regularly. I ordered and paid online the day before pickup. Cookies were the best. Cinnamon rolls sublime. Cruffins were great flavors but very tough and chewy. ( I guess I expected croissant airiness). My son loved the breakfast sammies. Although kind of pricy, it was bustling and busy. I still had to wait 15ish minutes past my order time, but it was all good. I do not understand why preorder with a time, if you still have to wait. I would return if I lived in the area. It was a 30 minute diversion en route to my son's school, so I may not return regularly on my trips to his school. Parking stinks(filled behind the store) All in all, it was tasty. 5 stars.

Considering going to Born & Bread? Good! It's decent! BUT... you should consider some things. First- if you REALLY want a good experience there, you should go online and pre order. Visit their website and figure out how to do that. I DID NOT- and my review is based on my walk-up walk-in experience. First of all- your map will probably get you to enter from the back. You will wonder, 'is this really the place?' Because it looks raggedy and run-down. You may wait in a line, like I did, only to fin, after 15 minutes, that line was for the pre order pick up's. But there would be no way for you to know that. We then waited in the REAL line inside the EXTREMELY cramped inside counter section. To our dismay, at 10:20 AM, there were only three or four items left to select. The racks full of the [more delicious] other options are for the WISE people that pre-ordered, not for you! (). We did order at the counter- and then we had too wait 45 minutes for our four pastries and two iced coffees. We literally watched them pick the items we ordered and put them on a tray- but we still had to wait 45 minutes to receive them. And the waiting happens in an environment that is shoulder to shoulder, like being on a crowded city bus. As we ordered, we were surprised to see the attendants do not use gloves or masks at all. Not even tongs. The girl hand picked up our items, and put them on a tray. Then she wiped her hands off on her hips. Yup. Yeah. That is not it for me. The pastries themselves finally arrived- and the pistachio raspberry croissant was okay- but it had become so dried out that it no longer tasted fresh - and it hadn't been warmed in the 45 minutes of waiting... so it was cold and almost stale. The Babka was good- but doughey- not flakey. The croissants were doughey, not flaky. The guava pastel was also doughey - not flakey. The quality of these pastries did not merit the extremely long wait, the dishevelment of the counter experience, the non-flushing gross toilet, the cramped quarters, etc. The pastries were DECENT - but did not live up to the five-star yelp hype, so i am giving two stars to balance out the help-scales while also being honest and accurate.

Pastries are all cold, tables are dirty and horrible efficiency of the line. First and last time visiting this place. Never again!

Out of this world pastries and breakfast sandwiches, the coffee was also a 10/10. So far, my fav spot in Lakeland with cute decor and great service.

For the location and town, I must say these were surprisingly great pastries in a random town like Lakeland. We ordered two cruffins, the cinnamon roll, and the Almond Croissant. Flavor and bake on all items was great! Croissant wasn't too too buttery but the flakiness was on point. Almond filling was done well and not overly almondy. Cruffins had a good flavor note and overall the cinnamon roll was fluffy. Slightly too sweet but very American in the palette. Overall you won't find a better bakery in Central Florida, including Orlando. Highly recommended. Just be patient; they're running and gunning in orders and have a lot to do, so at least 10 mins after you order you'll get your pastries. Nice Bakehouse type vibe where you can see all the bakers in action. 5/5.

I came for the fresh sourdough bread...unfortunately they only catered to restaurants owners today on Wednesday...so mad But the place was very nice & the pastries were outstanding. FYI.... it's Lisa with the stripe shirt!

I have to be honest. I was slightly disappointed. The items we purchased did not come across as very fresh, they weee actually very dry. I appreciate that they were busy, however the means in which they take orders and distribute their goods seemed like a cluster. I was really hoping to love Born & Bread Bakehouse. I will give them another try in the future just to see if it was an off day for them.

The menu has a lot to offer, but i went with The Benton's Bacon Breakfast Sandwich, which was SO delicious!! I look forward to returning when i visit Lakeland again!

Parking was a bit hard to find. Place looks unique and trendy. Not a lot of room inside. They have both tables and booths. Seating out back too. They put most of the available food up at the counter display so you can see it. Dont get set on something unless you order ahead or get there early as they run out. The food is unique and we very much enjoyed it so well be back.

The food was excellent. The service was great. Look forward to going back again and again.
