Borona Bistró

"A small, centrally located restaurant that takes its name from the famous corn bread traditionally eaten in the north of Spain, particularly in Galicia and Asturias. The couple in charge (Víctor in the kitchen and Rocío front of house) create cuisine that is high on detail and pays dutiful respect to the culinary traditions and flavours of Extremadura, while adding a contemporary touch through modern technique and presentation. The cooking here is based around three tasting menus entitled Jariza, Jaramago and Mercado (the latter, shorter and more affordably priced, is only available on weekdays). One dish that particularly stood out was the suckling pig’s ear with white prawn tartare, which is always on the menu but with a garnish that changes with the seasons." - Michelin Inspector

From start to finish, this restaurant delivered excellence on every level. Each course was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious—the attention to detail was outstanding. The service was top-tier: attentive, friendly, and professional throughout. Every dish felt like a work of art, both in flavor and presentation. Easily one of the best meals I’ve ever had—and without a doubt the best value for money I’ve come across in a long time. Highly recommend!

Enjoyed the 7 course meal and wine pairing tonight. Every dish was delicious and the service was fantastic. The sirloin, migas, gazpacho and flan were absolute stand outs. If you’re in the area, it’s a must try.

We had the most amazing dinner at Borona Bistro. We chose the largest tasting menu and everything was absolutely delicious. We loved every dish, especially the gazpacho with cucumber sorbet and the red mullet with oloroso. Every dish was very creatively prepared and presented. The service is excellent too. Overall, it was a terrific experience . We look forward to returning. Very highly recommended.

Outstanding food and service. We did the Jaramago menu with wine pairing. Highly recommended. Also, we came with our 3 year old son and they made our stay as comfortable as possible. Even heating up his food and waiting for him to eat to start service. I will not hesitate to come back if I’m in Cáceres. Thank you Jose and Victor for such a wonderful time.

Quality establishment. We had a menu with matching wines. All courses were interesting, with excellent local produce. A small thing - sheep's milk butter! The room is relaxing. The waiter was great. Spoke good English (which was very kind given my terrible Spanish). I thought it was very fair value as well.

We had a wonderful meal at this restaurant! We chose the smaller tasting menu and everything was absolutely delicious - especially the lamb and migas. The service was kind and attentive and the chef was friendly, delightful and clearly very talented. He even gave us restaurant recommendations for the rest of our trip. Overall, it was a terrific experience and excellent value as well. We look forward to returning.
