My partner and I came here for Valentine's Day and we had a great experience trying various dishes and enjoying our space in a fancy setting. We thought most of the good was great and would recommend anyone coming here to have a great time! Having strawberry and fennel made it an interesting combination with the foie gras and they worked together very well, so we thoroughly enjoyed the toast. The grilled octopus was also pretty solid, and the kalamansi vinaigrette worked well in providing an additional layer of flavor. The spicy lobster spaghetti had very good textural consistency with the chili tomato dauce and bottarga, with the latter providing a different kind of saltiness as it is fish roe. We also enjoyed eating the dark chocolate cremeux tart and the budino. They had an adequate amount of sweetness in different ways. I thought the salmon was nice as well, and the coconut-lime beurre blanc provided a unique type flavor, albeit there was a bit too much of it. The baby beets had a good amount of orange and radish, and I personally wished there was more beets included. Finally, we were confused about the baklava tart because we thought it tasted like a harder version of sweet potato pie, and the only thing that made it baklava was the pistachio pieces on the top. Side note, the valet guy was working very hard on that day despite all the snow, trying to fetch every customer's car with no complaints. We waited for a bit longer in the cold but that was okay because the valet guy was clearly working very hard. I would love the restaurant to consider additional staffing so that customers don't need to wait too long for their cars, and so that the valet guy won't feel like he has to do everything.

Came here and ended up getting food from the restaurant downstairs. Both of them are part of the same kitchen. The Parlour Burger was really good. Two smashed patties! The old fashioned was worth it also! Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures before eating everything.

This review highlights the importance of service. My husband ordered the pork chop and I ordered the faro orzo. The pork chop was amazing and the faro was pretty good but I wanted to eat a protein with it. I asked the server if a protein could be added to the faro and he said that it was possible but he would have to ask. He came back quickly and said that they couldn’t because they were too busy. I had to eat some of my husband’s pork chop with the faro to balance the dish. This combination was great. This is an expensive restaurant. For a costumer to be satisfied paying this much money not only should the food be good, the service should be top notch. If they are able to add a protein to a dish they should do it to please a costumer (who is willing to pay for this). It was not that busy. There were a decent number of people at the restaurant but there were open tables and open seats at the bar (where we were seated). There was no line out the door. I would have been happy to wait longer for my meal for the protein to have been added. Even without this, our food took forever to come out. And this wasn’t the only prolonged wait. It took 5-10 mins for water to be put on our table and even longer for the drinks. The bartenders/servers at the bar were nice and pleasant but it took too long to get served and for drink refills. The Brussels sprouts were not good and would not recommend getting this. My husband agreed that it wasn’t good. We both enjoyed the faro and pork chop combination. The two glasses of wine I drank were not good (French cab franc and Argentinian Malbec) but that may just be my taste so I can’t hold that against them. In summary, this experience was not worth the nearly $200 and I doubt we will ever go back.

My husband and I celebrated our 5th year anniversary together here. The food was exceptional (I had the lobster linguine) and the service was fantastic. Our server was super friendly and knowledgeable. We are from England living here for business currently and the staff made us feel so welcomed! Not to mention the cozy atmosphere with the warm lighting and rustic features. You guys really made that day feel special for us, thank you x

Cocktails are absolutely impeccable and the service is even better. Thank you Jake for being patient and helpful with the decisions! What an absolute gem of a bartender and SUCH A COOL SPOT!

My partner made a reservation for Valentine’s Day a few weeks in advance, and I think the process was fairly simple. Some of the pros from our dinner was that we were seated quickly, and got water and a bottle of wine we both liked. The octopus was grilled and I really enjoyed it. I also enjoyed the affogato and our waiter was amazing! A few cons would be that valet wasn’t outside so we had to wait a few moments for him. Also our entrees took entirely too long to come out of the kitchen and the waiter never mentioned why. I just figured they got behind since it is a holiday. Other than that I love the atmosphere of this location and all the staff were dressed so beautifully in their Valentine’s Day attire. It was a lovely experience and I would recommend for a romantic candle lit dinner!

We came here with a large party to celebrate a birthday and the service, food, and drinks were all wonderful. The atmosphere was pleasant and not too loud. I got the mushroom risotto and my partner got the salmon - both delicious. What we absolutely loved though was the roasted squash side! Others at our table got the flat iron steak and spicy lobster spaghetti, which they also enjoyed. Our server was wonderful and attentive for 10+ people. I'd go back!

Yelp
Do yourself a favor and go to Borough! I visited Borough with a colleague for happy hour and dinner. The restaurant wasn't busy and it was a gorgeous summer day so we sat on their outdoor patio. I was pleasantly surprised by what the happy hour food and drink menu entailed. Honestly some of the better selections in the North Loop. We decided to order a handful of things to share. We ordered fries, arancini, spicy lobster spaghetti, and buffalo cauliflower. It was all 10/10! Our waiter was very nice, attentive, and even brought us a complimentary order of brussels sprouts. Overall, the service was incredible, the food was outstanding, and I can't wait to go back!

Yelp
This was our first time trying Borough. We made reservations for two on a Saturday evening. It was fairly quiet inside and didn't feel cramped or loud. There are tall ceilings and windows allowing plenty of natural light in. I felt an upscale but semi casual vibe, however you want to make it. We started with the smoked salmon wontons. They were presented in a cute Asian take out box (see pics) and served with a very nummy sweet and sour sauce. I was hoping for a little more smoked salmon filling but they were still very tasty and crunchy! You get five small wontons. For the entrees, we tried the rye cavatelli and the flat iron steak. The lamb sugo base was very light on the tomato and heavy on the Parmesan cream. It satisfied that heavy carb/pasta craving I had and at a decent price. I feel like I'd like it even more if it was a different pasta - the cavatelli kind of looked like little bugs lol. The flat iron steak was a huge disappointment. It was prepared medium pink in the middle but the outside had an unseasoned charred taste. The steak lacked flavor and quality and did not fit this "upscale" feel. I was fairly disappointed in the cocktail options and settled for the jungle bird. It had an odd bitter taste at the end. Maybe go for the wine here instead? I was also disappointed in the side options on the menu and didn't understand where they were going with it. Service was good. There's street/metered parking that fills up pretty fast so you may have to walk a few blocks. Overall, wouldn't dine here unless it's for a quick appetizer.

Yelp
First time here last night. It was surprisingly not busy for a Friday night. Food was absolutely outstanding. Our drinks were fantastic. Our server could not have been nicer or more attentive to us. Amazing experience, we will be back!

Charlie P.

Yelp
What a fabulous dinner! We ate on the very cute covered patio and brought our toddler. The service was excellent. Drinks were flavorful. We got the tagliatelle which was absolutely delicious. We've gotten the octopus before and this time was just as good. Not too chewy and cooked perfectly with great flavors. We tried the wontons for the first time and they were very unique! Not your typical Asian flavored wonton. It has salmon, capers and a dill flavor which was really fun and interesting. Nice and crispy too. The carrot cake was moist and sweet with pineapple. Also unique and tasty. What a great meal!

Yelp
Another date night with the lady. Let's try Borough! Sounds great. Walking in, looks rustic and fancy at the same time. Very casual or fancy depending on the occasion. Waiter was very nice. Food was amazing! Price was a little on the high end, bit you do get what you pay for. No regrets

Mikayla K.

Yelp
We were a group of four here on a Saturday night around 8:30. I tried the brussels sprouts and the Tagliatelle. The brussels sprouts were incredible and the tagliatelle was so tasty, packed with tons of lobster meat and delicious little lemons. I can't imagine anything on the menu here isn't absolutely delicious. The ambiance is perfect in here - upscale, elegant but still casual. It's on the pricier side, especially given the smaller portion sizes but the smaller portion sizes are still packed with tons of flavor.

Yelp
We came to Borough for a quick happy hour on a summer Friday, and I was surprised at how easy it was to get a reservation! When we got there, most of the restaurant was empty near us other than maybe 4 other tables. Our server was very nice, however very slow. We had 30 mins left of happy hour when we arrived and by the time we got to ordering food we were trying to flag him down to make sure we could order in time to still get the special. I started with the Pick Me Up shot, which changes. It was a delicious and refreshing gin drink, perfect for summer and the perfect sipping size. When it came to food, selections were a little odd. Happy hour menu included a hot dog, and as foodies we didn't see anything on the regular menu we were interested in. We heard rumors of being able to order the Parlour burger, but didn't see it on the menu. Luckily, the menu rotates so if I go back for dinner I'll have to check before I go. For happy hour I ordered the dressed mixed greens, hot dog, house white and shared fries with the famous aioli. I've said this before but the aioli price is outrageous ($3.15ish each side) but it is delicious and I recommend trying it at least once. Hot dog and mixed greens were tasty, but nothing groundbreaking. Really odd to have a hot dog on the menu with the ambiance that this place has, but it was good! Wine was nothing special but very delicious. Overall, will keep an eye on their HH and if their food menu rotates to something more up my alley!

Yelp
We entered and were almost immediately greeted by a friendly host who promptly seated us. We were warmly greeted by our attentive server who kept our water glasses full and was attentive, but not hovering...just excellent staff. We ordered our drinks and were left with time to take in the place. For starters the place kind of looks like a dump. The seating with cushions looks likes it belongs in a landfill or a college apt. The ceiling looks terrible as well. I don't know if it looked better pre-covid or not, but it didn't help the ambiance. After seeing some reviews on here about portion size and some of the large plates with tiny bites we decided to change what we had planned for our order. We passed on the entire menu minus the scallop carpaccio. It was delicious, but we felt a little overpriced($22) for 7 bites. For our entrees we knew from visits to Parlour the burgers were a little expensive, but worth the extra price...every bite just makes your mouth, tongue, and stomach happy. We were full from supper and passed on dessert. After getting our bill we were happy we didn't get dessert

JD S.

Yelp
Very good ambiance. I liked the wontons the best. It's perfect for a Lowkey date night. The prices were very high and I like parlor burger so much, which is a bit cheaper (the downstairs sister restaurant). The doctors note cocktail was one of the best cocktails I've had In Minneapolis.

Alyana S.

Yelp
My friend and I originally were going to Parlor but they didn't take reservations but the Borough does. They serve both the Borough menu and the Parlor menu but not the Parlor cocktails. My friend and I opted to come here instead since it was a Friday night. When it comes to parking you'll have to park in the ramp at Nordic or do street parking since it is North Loop! As for food the Burger from the Parlor menu didn't disappoint! Plus I was happy our server suggested we get one thing of fries since it was a lot! And it's definitely shareable between two people. Plus the Swiss aioli sauce with the fries was the cherry on top. I am taking off a star since I wish there were more food options on both the parlor menu and the Borough menu. Overall we had great service and it had a ambience! Definitely more formal dining compared to the Parlor downstairs.

Jeff H.

Yelp
Excellent! We weren't fans in the past...forget about the past! Have been weekly for over a month and everything we've had is amazing! Without having burgers and fries! It is a definite go to from now on!

Macy M.

Yelp
I had such high hopes for Borough. I've dined with Jester Concepts before and enjoyed my experience (specifically at Parlour), but our experience at Borough wasn't what we thought it would be. The food didn't give us the "wow factor" we thought it would. Everything was just okay to us. We ended with a large bill and a lack of satisfaction. I will note the staff were super friendly and the space itself is beautiful!

Shell J.

Yelp
It was a very pleasant and satisfying meal. It began with a good conversation with the waiter on the Mezcal cocktail. I got a special one made of Mezcal, lime juice, green chartreuse. Everything we ordered are really yummy. Perfectly seasoned, nothing is overdone, which hasn't been the case for some high end restaurants in Minneapolis. Octopus and the beef tartare are my favorite. The pistachio Mousse is the highlight of the night. I was already full, but glad we didn't skip dessert. Totally worth it,. The creamy texture and perfectly spiced taste are well balanced to leave subtle sweetness to wrap up a wonderful meal.

Lindsay F.

Yelp
Wonderful...overpriced. Came here with my sister, her husband and my cousin to celebrate cuz's taking the bar exam...my sister and i, we understand the importance of standardized tests, such as USMLE medical board exams, and wanted to be there for her, no? She chose sanjusan first, but there were no reservations available and the second (close second) was Borough. I ordered the gnocchi, cheese plate, and my sister got a 1/2 dozen of oysters and cod with salmon roe. Brother in law had the burger, which he stated was amazing. In fact, it has been rated one of the top ten burgers in the COUNTRY, and he said he could understand why (also a fellow foodie). The cauliflowers were sooo tasty and perfectly cooked! Oysters were fresh with the best of accoutrements. I got to try the cod it the flavors were well balanced, accompanied the mild cod well without taking away from the flavor of the fish. The cod was seared to perfection on one side and perfectly cooked. Regarding the cheese plate, I enjoyed the pickled fruit but the "cracker" was just weird. It was huge and dwarfed the cheese. Lastly, I will come back for the gnocchi whenever. I haven't had perfectly fluffy and pillowy, yet with some toothsome bite to it gnocchi since I lived in Manhattan. All in all, great service, good food, but waaay over priced for the tiny portions.

Susannah C.

Yelp
Came here with my parents back in February and I'm still thinking about the bad service and food and overall negative experience. I LOVE Parlour so was excited to try out Borough upstairs. I wished I picked another restaurant to take my parents, who were visiting from out of town, to. We started with the smoked carrots, which you only get a few of, and they were not great. All of the entrees/dishes are weirdly small and you are not getting your moneys worth. We had to chase down our waiter multiple times - food and drinks took forever to come out. While the staff is friendly, they are not attentive at all. It was busy, but we seriously went 30-40 min in between seeing our server when we were trying to order. The restaurant gave us a free dessert because we waited so long which was very kind. However, the dessert we got was some kind of chocolate and pistachio dish, which should have been good, but it was incredibly bitter and overall gross. I ordered a steak medium rare for dinner and the steak came out way undercooked, I would barely call it rare. It was completely bloody. For the price point, this place isn't worth it. Overall, would not recommend this place. The Parlour downstairs is much more worth it! Borough is overpriced with small portions and poor service.

Austin P.

Yelp
Great, classy restaurant in the north loop. Wonderful spot for a date night. We enjoyed the Brussel sprouts and octopus as appetizers. The sprouts were a 5/10, would not recommend. The octopus was very tasty, but expensive. Ordered the parlour burger and fries for entree meal. You won't find a better burger in MN. Liked the atmosphere, but overpriced overall.

Alexandra M.

Yelp
I went to Borough for the first time last week. I enjoy the atmosphere and the windows. Super nice when there is so much brightness. They have a nice wine and cocktail selection which I always appreciate. They do serve the parlour menu as well, which is nice! I ordered the salmon and it was fine just small portions and expensive. The fries are always amazing. If I come back I would probably get the parlour burger since I know it is good. It is in the north loop so mostly street parking.

Fran N.

Yelp
The food was delicious - but beware the portion size! Minimalism is the key here, which is fine unless you're ravenous, because if you are you'll break down in laughter, trying to push away the tears, like I did when your food arrives. Deviled Egg- one per order. Cute presentation and tasty. The dried tomato was a nice tangy add. I ordered the oxtail ravioli as my entree- AMAZING. But they were only three cute little raviolis in there. The side veggies/nuts were a very flavorful and brought the dish together nicely. I only wish there had been more of it. Don't let the shredded cheese decieve you. Cocktails are all very ecclectic and great if your into craft cocktails. You real can't go wrong with any of them. Overall the atmosphere is great for a date night, meet up with a couple friends, or treat you parents out to dinner. I'd skip it for large groups since it's not that big, and you'd probably be too noisy to those having a nice candlelight dinner around you.

Jessica S.

Yelp
You want the best burger in Mpls? It's here, the Parlour Burger!! (Not talking best Juicy Lucy so settle down Karen). You will have to sit at the bar or put on the patio to enjoy it as they don't serve it in the dining room. It's worth it though!! Don't bother with the St Paul location make the drive to Mpls it will not disappoint. This juicy deliciousness with its toasted bun is well making my mouth water just typing this!! They also have some pretty incredible craft cocktails that change seasonally. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The location is great, parking is not always the easiest but there is valet available and not too expensive. It is warm inviting and not too loud.

Kimberly C.

Yelp
Nice ambiance, which offers a great space for getting together and being able to hear each other speak. The staff was kind, and practiced safety measures for COVID. Sadly we weren't impressed by our dishes, and rather than try something else.... left to grab another bite nearby. For me, the flavors of the porcini gnocchi just didn't compliment each other. My friend described the pork belly as good but fatty. That said, the dessert menu looked good, so perhaps next time we'll just go for that and a parlour burger, which never fails.

Heather F.

Yelp
Food was delicious. Server was inattentive and more concerned about his hair than guests experiences. Walked past our empty table no short of ten times without asking if we would like the check after dessert.

Kyle W.

Yelp
My friends and I originally wanted to eat at Parlour, which was booked so we headed upstairs to the fancier and more upscale Borough. My main purpose for wanting to go to Parlour was to get my hands on one of their burgers! The menu at Borough is more expansive and there is a lot to check out. The dishes that went by to the other tables looks very nice, but I was still set on the popular burger. Unfortunately the burger really missed the mark! It lacked flavor and was very very salty. I usually expect a nice burger like this to not need ketchup but I needed something to take away the salty flavor. I remember their burger used to be really good, so it was unfortunate to see it go south.

Bella F.

Yelp
The expresso martinis are great, maybe a little too much foam and maybe lay off on the egg whites a little big. But the burger was great along with the fries. Taking off two stars just cuz my bill was $70 for two drinks and a burger and I didn't think it was worth it

Julie N.

Yelp
5 Star Special Night at Borough! From the moment we wandered in, without a reservation, the maître d' treated us as if we were visiting dignitaries! The rest of the staff, waiter, bartender et al were also so welcoming and friendly. Even better was the incredible meal! Every bite was amazing and memorable. We were visiting from California, and the dining experience at Borough gives us one more reason to return to Minneapolis very soon. Thank you, Borough, for kicking off our Anniversary Week with an exceptional meal!

Brandon G.

Yelp
Excellent birthday dinner at the chef's counter. Amazing service and unforgettable dishes and experience. Was fun to watch the action - dinner and a show!

Kamrin D.

Yelp
I went to borough last night to celebrate my birthday and I can't believe I've never been here before. The atmosphere is beautiful and Borough is perfect for everything from happy hour to date night. They have a great beer/wine/mixed drink selection and the food is incredible. I started with the cauliflower and it was delicious. I definitely scraped the plate. I could not get enough. And just when I thought it couldn't get better we had our main course and WOW, some of the best food I've ever had. I had the halibut and everything was perfect from flavor to texture. I want to celebrate every birthday here. Service was great and they have complimentary valet service if you spend over $50. If you haven't been I highly recommend making a reservation.

Devon F.

Yelp
What an awesome experience. Our party of 7 visited this evening for a birthday. Everyone got a mix of items, and, anything we didn't know, our server absolutely did. Any questions or concerns we asked she had an answer to. This enabled our curiosity and many of our group went outside their comfort zone trying the words we didn't know - ha! Great food, friendly and knowledgeable staff, highly recommend and will return.

Samantha E.

Yelp
Visited recently for a birthday and thought the food was better than I expected it would be based on prior reviews. I had the carrots and the meatball and both were super tasty and unique. I also thought the portion sizes were good- bigger than I expected. My partner had the fish and was very pleased. Big pluses: vibe is great on the patio or inside and they waive the corkage fee on a bottle you bring in if you buy one. This is a great value considering that you can get a very good bottle of wine for $45-55. Drawbacks: Our server was excellent but timing was off for our group of 7. Some plates came out cold and they timed things in an odd way (getting fries 30 mins before the burger). I would have appreciated them discussing how to course the meal with us, not holding food until it was cold, and skipping the new glasses and silverware if it's adding to the delays. Lastly, you can get the Parlour menu, including the burger but it was too salty this time. LOVE salt but it was too much especially with fries. Otherwise still the best burger in town (although the red cow burger with bacon is close because of the mustard).

Dan C.

Yelp
I have been getting take away here for almost a year and getting their burger is a treat every time. There are plenty of good burgers in the North Loop, but this one is special. It is sort of a smash burger style with 2 patties with a nice slab of cheese. It is a bit crispy in places and juicy in others. The meat has excellent flavor and there is a nice saltiness to it. The bun is great as well. We also get the fries. They are fantastic and very salty as well. As a heads-up, the fries is a large portion and perfect for 2 people. As another heads-up, this place is pricey. 2 burgers and fries take away comes out to the low $40's (with a small take away order fee). This is NYC prices, but the food is totally worth it, it is really that good.

Lu G.

Yelp
The food is ok. The sauce and seasoning for most the dish tasted weird to me, but it might be just that it doesn't fit my taste. But for the salmon dish, the sauce taste like bubble water. The server is nice, but he didn't notice our water is gone for at least 15 min and we have to ask for it. And the food come out really slow.

Rob S.

Yelp
My wife and I dined at Borough last night. We ordered the gnocchi appetizer. She ordered the flank steak, I ordered the salmon. The food was excellent, but the portions were absurdly small. I mean, laughably small, surprisingly small. The steak consisted of five pre-cut bites (yes, they cut the steak into pieces in advance..Is this a new trend?). The salmon was a single small piece-about 6 bites. A single piece of broccolini was plated with the salmon. When I pointed it out, the server actually told me that they do "small plates", which isn't true. The prices are not "small plate" prices. The chef comped us a slice of cake (oddly, they didn't let us select the dessert-they just brought out a slice of cake). Neither the Chef nor the front-of-house manager ever came by the table to speak with us. There is no way we'll go back. I recommend steering clear--there are better options out there.

Corrie H.

Yelp
Some friends and I gathered here for a birthday dinner. They raved of the parlor burger so I had to give it a go. Parlor is the name of their speak easy that is located below the restaurant. You can get the burger at either section which is great because it is now absolutely one of my favorite burgers. I like to joke that I could prob order just the patty and it still might still be the best. But I suggest you order it just how it comes. Very fun industrial setting. But I really enjoyed the attentive service and the atmosphere so much that I dragged my husband back 3 days later. And there is a parking lot incredibly easy to park at especially for this suburban mouse that doesn't always like parking in the city.

Holly K.

Yelp
delicious shareables! excellent mocktails. incredible service.

Yelp
Borough kindly hosted our entire team during a team conference. It was one of the most flawless experiences we have experienced as a group. Orders were taken in advance, as well as notes on dietary restrictions. The staff was very welcoming and organized. The appetizer salad was lovely, and my colleagues practically licked our plates after the entrees. The restaurant blocked off an entire section for us, right by the windows. I loved the atmosphere of the place. I had the salmon entree which included fennel cream, charred fennel, turnips, picholine olives, and chives. They made it complete dairy-free for me, and yet it was still like putting butter in my mouth. The salmon was cooked to perfection. The "smores" dessert was a deconstructed smore-like concoction. I admit I tried a little even though it was not dairy-free. The server was so kind, she came out with my own plate of dairy-free seasonal sorbets to try. They were very interesting flavors. A HUGE thank you to Borough for hosting our team. So impressed. I'd highly recommend this place.

Yelp
Simply great food. Service is okay. I come here at least once every month. Funny they never seem to remember me considering my frequency of visits. I stopped making reservations as I have always been able to find a seat every time I decide to come here, which includes random days and time. 1. Food I love their food. Not the biggest portion, sometimes I feel like I am still hungry after having had an entree, but the taste is great. My absolute favorite is the scallops. Chocolate desserts are great here too. They have some good selection of drinks and cocktails. If you feel like drinking more after eating here, head down the stairs to Parlour. I personally like Borough due to its classy setup, better service, quieter atmosphere and superior food choice. You just simply can't go wrong with food here. 2. Service Not the friendliest servers, but again the food quality makes it worth it. They aren't bad or rude either. I just wish they were nicer/friendlier. Also, asking much questions is not recommended as every time they had to check with someone and never know the answer right away. 3. Atmosphere I'd say they are quite dark in lighting, not the best place to take instagram worthy food pics, but not a problem for me. Intimate and classy and romantic feel. Very good place for a romantic date. Not too noisy, so it makes it possible to actually talk with your date. 4. Parking Lots of street parking available outside. During the weekend and dinner time, it gets hard to find a parking spot. It is in the north loop, lots of fun things to do before or after dinner here, including walking as the neighborhood is safe and roads are cleaner.

Yelp
Let me start with, I love the food here! The Parlour Bar space is super cool with great drinks and the main restaurant space is spot on--their burger is amazing, and this leads to the problem. I went last Saturday and with 3 friends and started our evening downstairs with drinks and then when our reservation was called headed upstairs to the main restaurant. We started with wine and apps and everything was going fine until it came to the entrees. One of our party was just feeling like something lighter and asked if she could get the Parlour Burger. The server said no that they couldn't serve it in the restaurant but she could go downstairs and have it after dinner--odd solution, but whatever. I went to speak to the manager and asked if one of our party could get the burger and her curt response was, 'No. Go to the bar if you want that,' and this is where things went off the rails. As a manager, she had a lot of options that didn't include serving the burger to us, but her response was curt and didn't provide any solution for our party. I told her that we'd be leaving and to get our check. As we were getting up, she came by to say again that she 'just couldn't serve the burger in the restaurant.' I replied, 'You are CHOOSING not to serve it.' She smiled at our table and smugly said, 'Yes. I. Am.' We left and went over to Freehouse for the rest of our dinner. At Freehosue, we mentioned what happened to our server and she said w/o missing a beat, 'Do you want me to send someone over to get you the Parlour Burger? I'm happy to do it.' Now that was customer service and solving a problem! You, my friends at Borough have a lot to learn about customer service. Maybe take a queue from your neighbors down the road. There are lots of great restaurants in Minneapolis now, and service is what makes any single one stand out.

Yelp
We are on a mission to try every restaurant in the North Loop, so we ate brunch today at the Borough. We had a lovely, lovely brunch - and I would say the Borough is now on our short-short list for Sunday brunches. Delicious. So first the space is really lovely. It's bright with lots of natural light, and the wall opposite the windows is lined with all of these cute little mirrors, so the light was even more lovely. There is this amazing thing at one end of the room that is made up of various square-shaped cross sections of wood. It was so cool I couldn't take my eyes off of it. The space is very classy but relaxed at the same time. I loved it. We started off with the cocktail menu. I ordered the lavender bellini, which our waitress assured me (accurately) did not have an overwhelmingly lavender taste. It honestly was more like a mimosa to me, but it was delicious. My husband had the frothy OJ, which our waitress described as a foamy Orange Julius. And that is EXACTLY what it tasted like... kind of amazing. But also incredibly sweet. I could not have drunk it. We were seated right by the lovely buffet of pastries. They had the giant caramel roll, which looked amazing but was truly humongous (like plate size). So we opted for the smaller and more reasonable lemon merengue. That was really delicious mostly... the tart shell was buttery and crispy, the lemon curd was perfect but the copious amount of merengue on top was grainy. As a baker I know that means it wasn't mixed well enough or the powdered sugar wasn't sifted. But it still was very tasty. For food, I got the eggs on toast, which is a lovely pile of soft scrambled eggs, avocado, radish slices, microgreens and crab meat all on top of a lovely griddled piece of bread. I could have licked my plate. My husband got the shrimp n grits, which came with huge head-on prawns. He ate every bite of it so it must have been good. We also split the dutch pancake, which came to the table in a cast iron pan and was deeeelish. Coffee was strong, service was excellent. We will be back.

Yelp
Ordered the double parlour burger and the tartine, as well as a cinnamon bun. To start, the atmosphere was quite nice for a brunch. The outside and interior had a good rustic feel to it. Service was good and attentive as well. To start with, the cinnamon bun was large so we split, but nothing to write home about. Felt the bun was largely overpriced. The double parlour burger was one that was recommended to me so I was hyped for it. The first thing I noticed was the lack of vegetables. I like meat as much as the next guy, but I like a good balance with tomatoes or mushrooms or red onions, etc. I also thought I read that the burger came with and egg, but I later saw it was egg bun, and not egg and bun. My misreading. The flavor was decent but it was quite salty (with lack of veggies to balance). I wouldn't order this again for its hefty $14 price tag. The other dish we got was the tartine. This had really good flavor and had great presentation. However, we only got one medium-smallish slice. Felt this was also overpriced. The atmosphere was nice, and the tartine was good, but everything was priced too high for what we got.

Yelp
Delicious! Other than lacking salt the food was pretty good. Portion sizes are very small. Paperdeli and vegetables were delicious.

Yelp
Wonderful food, great atmosphere! My boyfriend and I celebrated our anniversary dinner here a few weeks ago and were very impressed. We made reservations online and sat in the area overlooking the kitchen. It was great watching the chef's team preparing our food as we watched. We started with the octopus that was coated in an amazing sauce. Next we had oysters and the sea urchin. I'd pass on the oysters next time, much too salty for our liking. However the sea urchin was beautifully prepared and has great flavor. For entrees we shared the quail, and the fish and oysters. The broccolini was our favorite part of the quail dish- literally packed with flavor. The fish and mussels was my boyfriends favorite and we couldn't get over how good the grilled bread was when we dipped it in the broth. Also the wait staff was knowledgeable and friendly! Thank you!

Yelp
Not impressed. Food was meh. Portions were small. Empty dining room at 6:30 which should have been the indicator. Service average. Not sure there is anything for us to go back.

Yelp
There needs to be a button for 3.5. Restaurant wasnt bad and service was great. Except for the deviled egg nothing was to my liking. I found the gnocchi mushy. The artic char to me was over cooked. The fact they would bring me a steak knife with a fish dish perplexing. This could be a great restaurant but it seems the chef is trying to be more creative than he/ she is capable.

Yelp
Borough serves brunch once a week and it was delicious. I had a Japanese beer the daily omelette which was made with bacon and bok choy. My friend and I ordered hash browns to share. She had the gnocchi. We were both pleased with our server and the experience.

Yelp
Service was good, drinks were great, and atmosphere was really nice. Felt the food was a little overpriced.

Yelp
Came for Sunday brunch with the girls and this place did not disappoint. It wasn't busy for a nice Sunday afternoon at 1pm, we sat indoors. Very modern and chic inside, the entrance was a bit confusing. We parked on the street, saw the address number 730 with a door below and walked in. We ended up behind the restaurant and made it through the employee doors to get in. Ha, FAIL! If you parked on the street, keep walking towards the outdoor seating at the end of the building and you will see the entrance. The Borough sign is not very large so it can be easily missed. Scrambled eggs were soft and it reminded me of Bar la grassa's Soft eggs and lobster but Borough's version is with king crab leg meat. I thought it was good but the portion is very small. I'd eat it again and probably order two next time! Biscuits and gravy was also delicious, the biscuits was crispy and flaky on the outside and soft in the inside filled with a garlic herb punch in your mouth surrounded with a comforting sausage gravy sauce. Hashbrowns were good we ordered extra crispy and they came out a small portion and very thin. Very nice crunch to add with your meal. Simple breakfast was very much so simple. Plain eggs and buttered toast. The meat of the day was pork belly, it was very soft, yet crispy, and fatning but amazing. Pancakes looked good but it's not. I would pass on it, unless you want an IG worthy picture than order it and snap away. The pancake was hard and spongy weird inside, and it did not satisfy us. It came with a Foie Gras butter on the side, I thought it may helped compliment the pancake a little bit more but overall, it still didn't win us over. Server was nice, she attended to us when we needed her. I still gave a 5 stars rating because everything was still awesome despite the less than mediocre weird pancake, I would still come back. Next time, we will try be dinner menu!

Yelp
Celebrated boyfriends birthday dinner here, soon after restaurants reopened for indoors dining. The restaurant was making great precautions for covid & the service was attentive. We started our meal with the porcini gnocchi, which was incredibly warm & delicious. Would 100% order again. I followed up with Octopus and cauliflower, while my boyfriend ordered the steak with truffle/mushroom notes. I really loved the food & drinks. The atmosphere was gorgeous & food better in my opinion.

Yelp
BEST carpaccio I've ever had and the bartenders were well versed in cocktail making and showing their patrons a great time. We were really grateful for the hospitality and the delicious food. The service was the cherry on top for us. We felt right at home and were directed to the most delicious dishes and made to feel right at home. I only wished I would have spent all of my vacation funds on eating here and no where else while in Minnesota. Oysters- on POINT. Carpaccio, to die for, and the wine/cocktail selection was expertly crafted. Thanks Brian and Declan who took care of us at the bar on Monday evening! We will come back EVERY-TIME we are in town.

Yelp
Three stars only because of the awesome atmosphere, and good service, but the food is not so great! The Tartar was not great at all, the octopus was chewy, and the pork steak was overcooked. Deserts were weird and not great at all, maybe three stars only because of the desserts only. I can deal with overlooked steak, but desserts! My heart was broken.
