A seriously delicious local country diner up in Thousand Oaks. I drove up specifically for Bo’s from West LA and was happy that I made the trip. It’s in a lot sleepier part of town compared to where I am from so it was nice to have easy parking and no wait lines. They have a free parking lot out front and outback plus street parking so it will never be an issue finding a spot. Inside is quite small, but there are a lot of tables and the service is fast so I would guess that they turn quickly. Our server was very polite and everything that we ordered came out lightning fast. I also thought the coffee was particularly good and was especially strong. For our meal, we chose the California Omelette, which was terrific and was a very large sized portion as well as a Small Dutch Baby and a Belgian Waffle. The Dutch Baby was a bit smaller than I was expecting, but still great in flavor and the waffle was fantastic. Honestly, one of the best waffles I’ve had in a long time. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area and would put it on my list of great Valley diners.

Google
Basic breakfast spot that feels like a favorite local hangout but very disappointed experience here. Paying $21 before tip for 3 pancakes, 2 eggs and burnt coffee is too much to handle. Also clearing the table after I went to the bathroom and wasn’t finished with my coffee and water (had put napkins on top of them) is a major red flag. Cannot recommend but understand if it has its admirers and hope it improves its service.

On a rare weekday off for my wife, we decided to try Bo's House of Omelettes & Waffles. We had been YEARS ago when it was Harold's House of Omelettes what had been around since 1961, but hadn't returned since it became Bo's. We had a great time! The food was good, staff was friendly and we really enjoyed ourselves. If you'll looking for a breakfast place in Thousand Oaks... especially one with some history... try out Bo's!

This is a restaurant that I feel comfortable recommending to anyone visiting from out of town. The food is good and service is very pleasant. I've been here several times and have never been dissatisfied. The atmosphere is quaint and much like older style, hometown restaurants so if that is your vibe you should come here. It's even located in a shopping center that is close to it's original Old Thousand Oaks design. Easy to walk to for those who live in the neighborhood.

This was my first time trying Bo's and everything we tried was good. We ordered the Waffle Chicken, Eggs Benedict, Country style Benedict, and the Sweet Cream Latte. Sadly, the waffle was still a little doughy in the middle. Otherwise, the edges were very crispy. It did feel like the food took a bit long to come out even though the place was pretty slow. Overall, I liked the experience and the food.

My husband came here as a kid when it was Harold's, I had never been. Parking is tough, but worth finding a place. They do omlettes a little different here. It's an old school place with old school charm. Reasonable pricing, good selection of Mexican breakfast. I had chilaquiles, yummy and satisfying. I saw some pancakes from afar and they looked great. Definitely coming back soon!

I adore this restaurant! The ambiance is very relaxed and the customer service is top-of-the-line. My food always comes out super hot and fresh! Please take the opportunity to visit and support this small business Unfortunately, I live too far or I would be here every single day.

Google
A typical American diner! Well-preserved interior and friendly service. We headed here for breakfast and had the California as well as some pancakes. The food tasted great and was delivered swiftly. And for once: you get good coffee (all sorts you can think off), and not the regular drip coffee. Would I come back? Certainly!

Yelp
Hubby and I came here to try after church. Parking is not the best situation but we were able to find parking. Beware the parking in front of of the restaurant is very limited. We were seated right away. A good amount of people enjoying their breakfast. Service was quick and attentive throughout our meal. The place is an old diner vibe but clean. I ordered the Denver Scramble with sausage and wheat toast. My husband ordered the house breakfast with corned beef. Big breakfast. He thought the meal was average but did eat the entire plate with adding lots of tapatio. My omelette was good but lacked flavor so I had to sprinkle some salt since I am not a fan of tobasco sauce or tapatio. We left content but it would not be a place we would visit again. There was no wow factor on our meals but it was good solid food.

Yelp
Bo, Bo, Bo.... What an INCREDIBLE story!! And for those of you who don't know the backstory, let me paraphrase it for you: Bo's House of Omelettes & Waffles previously known as Harold's House of Omelettes opened way back in 1961. Harold's was here before the City of Thousand Oaks was Incorporated & was even here right on the Boulevard before it was known as it is now... Thousand Oaks Blvd. Fast forward to 2021, 60 years or 10 decades later of serving breakfast and lunch to the locals, passerby's and those who wanted to eat at an establishment that was literally apart of the cities deep history... The old saying "All Good Things Come to an End" Presented itself and Harold's announced it would be closing its doors on May 14th 2021. Well, don't fret... A Happy Ending is coming! Because this story is far from over!!! In fact, it was just a new chapter which continued with ALL (except Harold) of the same "characters" aka (the same cooks, staff, servers & managers with one minor detail... Bo, the new "main character" would be the at the forefront of this new story. The backstory on Bo Bo, who himself was a regular customer of Harold's in the early 2,000's, once even took over Harold's to host his family after his Mothers funeral. He recalls how Harold's staff allowed him and his family to take over the establishment and celebrate his Mother's life well after they were closed for the day. Years later, Bo, like the rest of the close-knit community of Thousand Oaks and the surrounding Conejo Valley had heard Harold's would be closing its doors. Well remember earlier when I mentioned a Happy Ending was coming? The Happy Ending Bo, a once customer, decided to take over the former Harold's House of Omelettes and make it Bo's House of Omelettes & Waffles. Not only would he keep all of the staff that was already in place, but he would also maintain the secret omelette recipe that had been used since 1961! Shhhh!! It's a secret!! And all of this transition was done in a 2 week period in which Bo's officially opened on May 29th 2021. 4 years since Bo stepped in as the saving grace, the House of Omelettes & Waffles continues to serve up a mean breakfast/lunch and the legacy of its former owner, Harold continues on. My Experience at BHofO&W While getting some new tires at the Tire Man next door, my daughters & I had a little time to kill so we decided to grab some breakfast while we waited. Being a resident of Thousand Oaks for 28 years now, you think I would have tried ALL of the restaurants in town, but surprisingly even though I had passed by the previous Harold's, now Bo's restaurant many, many, many times over the years and even heard great things about it, I just never made it here. Well on May 15th 2025, 4 years and a day since Harold's last day, I FINALLY made it to Bo's House of Omelettes & Waffles!!! The place is cozy and we were greeted with open arms. After perusing the menu and me deciding to try something different than my normal breakfast go-to (usually corned beef hash), I went with their Huevos Rancheros, and let me tell you... I ate every last bite! As for the kids, they split some pancakes, eggs and bacon and they were equally satisfied. The menu does have a dedicated section to 'Mexican Delicacies' which I will definitely be honing into next time we come through for lunch. And of course, now that I know a little bit more about this place, you know I'm 100% coming back to try their secret Omelette Recipe for breakfast. To my Thousand Oaks Natives, Newbies and everyone in between, if you haven't given this place any love....don't wait 28 years like I did. If you have and you love it, Rock On!! To Bo, Harold, and the staff past and present... Keep on telling your story through your food.

Yelp
We really liked this old fashioned diner..Was a great experience for my wife and I! ... PERSONALLY the BEST chicken fried steak I've had so far! Great service from George, our host... struck up a good conversation with him. We'll be back.

Yelp
Tough call. The people are great. Friendly. Attentive. Ahead of the game for coffee refills. Food was meh. Ordered the Custom Omelette (1 meat plus 3 items): Bacon, mushroom, spinach, Swiss. Had the hash browns, extra crispy. The way omelettes are done here is that the additions are cooked and placed on the plate, and then the fluffy eggs are placed on top. So really an omelette variation - but this is how it has always been done. And that's actually how the hash browns were taken care of, too: center of the plate, other items on top, then the eggs. So the hash browns were not as crispy because they became moistened by the steam. The spinach wasn't fresh. Was the equivalent of a package of Green Giant frozen. Small, chopped. And had the same bad taste. Nothing like sautéing fresh baby spinach. I'd be surprised if the mushrooms were fresh - their look reminded me of the canned ones from when I was a kid. But they weren't awful. Swiss cheese was delicious, as were the eggs. Nice and fluffy. But the spinach ruined it. For the $20 price I had expected fresh everything. I'm also assuming I could've asked for the hash browns to be on a side plate if I had known what they were going to do. Side of English Muffins was good.

Yelp
I used to dine this establishment years back when it was Harold's and loved it. I'm happy that Bo's House of Omelettes and Waffles took over. They offer a nice variety of items on the menu to satisfy various pallets. The Good: The prices are very reasonable and the restaurant can accommodate a large party, if needed. The food is pretty tasty and the portions are filling (you may end up packing a To-Go bag). The Bad: Parking can be hard to find, especially if you have a large group of cars in your party. With a large party, it can be pretty tight. Also, the only dish I wasn't pleased with was the chicken waffle because it's only flat strips of chicken rather than the big pieces fried chicken other places offer. I would come back and dine again, but not sure it would be my first choice.

Yelp
The staff are nice and friendly. Love the food. Exactly what I ordered for pick up. Went twice for breakfast this month. Update: we've been going back in the area for quite some time now, and every week this is our go-to breakfast, and it never fails.

Yelp
Food was excellent but $4 for a cup of coffee is steep......you do, however, get a ton of food for the price.
google avatar

Marty W.

Yelp
We went hear for breakfast for the first since since going gear frequently when it was was Harold's House of Omelets. Pretty much the same decor, layout with new upholstered booths that were always cramped and still are. Seat yourself, make waiters not friendly, one water glass chipped edge and paper napkin stains, no apology. Two waffles, two strips of bacon, 2 ice teas priced out with fair tip at $45. The waffle and bacon were good but the value lacking.
google avatar

Teeta P.

Yelp
Excellent service. Excellent food. Crepes are soft and tasty.. jam was good, not too sweet..."best waffle i ever had.." was the comment of the table! It was light and crispy and made you want more!
google avatar

Sophie G.

Yelp
The atmosphere was clean, charming, and laid-back, giving off a classic old-school diner feel. There were two dining areas, along with outdoor seating for pairs. The service was warm and attentive--no complaints there. The food was excellent, with the carne asada chilaquiles being the clear standout over the huevos rancheros. You can choose from green, red, or habanero sauce and add a protein of your choice. The dish also came with flavorful homemade refried beans. Based on other reviews, the Mexican dishes seem to be the highlight here.
google avatar

Brent O.

Yelp
Nice little diner feel. Lots of Mexican style choices. I had chorizo omelette and million dollar bacon. That bacon was amazing- sweet and salty. Chorizo was really good, but the hash browns were hiding under the omlette, so if you're a tater person, you may need more. Service was great. Front parking lot is odd, but there is street parking.

Domenick M.

Yelp
Know for their great breakfast, they also serve great Mexican food and I was very happy with the cheese burger .
google avatar

Ron W.

Yelp
Many here many times, had many of their omelettes, pancakes, street Taco and tortas. First time trying the Bo breakfast sandwich with the million dollar bacon added in, WOW! I felt each bite was a kiss of yumminess! It has grilled onion, the melting cheese, spice of the bacon, and the sweet brioche bun, man it was good. Very filling, I had to take half of it home. Great cold the next day. Love this diner and so glad we have this in town. Employees are attentive, attractive and friendly. The facilities are clean. Parking in the front and rear.
google avatar

Yesenia C.

Yelp
By far one of my favorite breakfast spots! I'm not huge on having a big breakfast but this place has a great selection of breakfast plates. The French toast was very tasty and hubby's chilaquiles with carnitas were bomb! This isn't a fancy updated establishment but, they do make up with cleanliness and fantastic customer service. It's a pretty calm ambiance here and I feel prices were fair. So, when we are in the area we will definitely stop by to enjoy some good breakfast here!

Yelp
Hungry? Looking for breakfast that is hooked up, great tasting and has excellent customer service, all for a decent price? Well Bo's is the place. This is not close to me but I'm glad my Wife found this on Yelp because she knows I love breakfast. There was plenty of free street parking right in front. We walked in on a Sunday morning and were seated right away. I ordered the chilaquiles with Carnitas and 3 eggs and beans. This plate is hooked up and delicious. I also had to try the Bo's bacon and this did not disappoint. Orange Juice was fresh squeezed. Decor was a lil outdated but I was there for the food not the decor so this did not faze me one bit. Customer service was excellent. If I lived closer I would be here more often but since I don't I will recommend to my friends, family and fellow Yelpers!
google avatar

Yelp
Good service, good food, and good everything. Yea the place may look outdated but it is a good thing imo. Keep it local and keep those snotty people out.
google avatar

Hawke H.

Yelp
For a house of waffles, their waffle was honestly mid. Very crunchy & hollow, definitely get one with toppings because I could see how it could be a bit boring without. Ambiance was ok, grandma diner-y. Service was good though! Nothing to say there. Not sure I would come back.
google avatar

Patrick S.

Yelp
I've been here several times on my lunch break as someone who works early mornings (break time usually around 7) and they consistently open the doors 15-20 minutes late. They have substantial staffing problems and for a middle of the road breakfast, there are far better places to eat in town that respect their customers time.
google avatar

Saulo P.

Yelp
Service: Not the best. Perhaps maybe a little bit more training or a better system. We were seated, then took 13minutes for the server to help us. When the server finally helped us with the order She never came back. We asked one of the guys for our check and no one came back after that. So I got up and went to the register to pay and they can't say it was busy because the restaurant was empty by the time I walked to the counter. Then We were told she had left for the day.
google avatar

J P.

Yelp
I liked it... The decor hasn't changed since the name / owner changed hands but the restaurant still has that old school charm / feel to it. Not a lot of good breakfast restaurant choices around this part of town. Parking is free in the lot or on the street. Service is always good. Staff is normally friendly. A lot of regulars come here but first timers as well. Now to the food. It was good. My meal was solid. Everything was hot and fresh. Omelet was on the big side. Definitely give this place a try for a hearty breakfast! Enjoy!

Samuel J.

Yelp
This place sells one-of-kind omelettes. Basically, the gimmick is that they are layered: hash browns, fillings, cheese, and egg (from bottom to top). This alone is reason to visit this restaurant. The service was nice, maybe a tad slow, but I believe that's likely due to the freshness of their food. The interior was rustic yet welcoming, like old-diner vibes. The only thing I would not recommend is buying the iced coffee which tasted horrible and wasn't worth it for $4.
google avatar

Kyra B.

Yelp
The omelettes are consistently amazing. They're made in a bit of a different style that keeps the fillings warmer throughout the meal.

Yelp
Our Party of 8 for brunch left this place very happy and satisfied. It's a cozy and tight-spaced hole-in-the-wall cafe that has quite a vintage 70s feel to it. Most often times for me when food, service, and ambiance are good, you don't really care about the decor. Great service! The waiters are quick and eager to serve. They were really good and kind. I personally had the carnitas omelet, and the green sauce they spilled over the omelet made my eyes lit up. It was delicious! As you can tell, for the price you are paying, the portions are quite generous. You can expect to pay at least $15-20 a person, which is pretty typical nowadays with inflation. You can also expect a line if you don't get their early enough before the Sunday brunch rush but definitely a great place to go for a decent breakfast!
google avatar

Kate L.

Yelp
Love the quietness of weekday mornings here. Calming music and really good food. Savory and sweet tastes. Our waiters were very attentive. I give the chilaquiles with chicken and sunny side up a 5 star rating!!!

Tina L.

Yelp
Great breakfast! Very generous omelette that's definitely shareable. Coffee, however, is weak. Service is very amiable and attentive. It's not the fanciest place with its old timey decor but that suits us.

Little L.

Yelp
All staff are friendly and kind. Food came out quickly and large selection of food options. My children eat their food which says a lot. (Toddlers) nice quiet environment. Kind customers. (One paid for our meal)

Marva ..

Yelp
The service was quick and the servers were friendly. The food was delicious! The Belgian waffle is light and and crispy at the same time. The million dollar bacon was out of this world! I appreciated that the link sausages were real pork! I also ordered their chili verde burrito to go. It was delicious! I highly recommend this breakfast spot! I like that it was quaint and small.
google avatar

Gary Y.

Yelp
They really care about their quality. Fluffiest and tastiest pancakes I have ever tasted, best Huevos Rancheros because of the freshness and the attention to health, and best vegeterain omelet which was extra fluffy, tasty and fresh. Service is so friendly. I will return with family for Tuesday Taco and more breakfast. It is now a go-to for us.
google avatar

Jeffrey W.

Yelp
Had a really good breakfast here. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The giant waffles and omelettes are not to be missed.
google avatar

Yelp
Great food and service! The omelet was so yummy and the Bo's bacon was great ! We have found our new breakfast place!
google avatar

Yelp
Hidden gem! Small place with big plates. Great food and excellent service!! Coming back for sure.
google avatar

Jeremiah K.

Yelp
I really like the food here. I see a lot of mixed reviews complaining about the prices but this is Thousand Oaks and for breakfast this is right on par for what's around. The quality is always good and the food is tasty. The place is a little small and getting a table can be hard on the weekends but it's a great little spot.
google avatar

Hessian P.

Yelp
I noticed someone else's review just as was about to write this, and I have to point out that the calming music certainly wasn't my experience today. They must have had the tuner set to some Outlaw Country, and my mom and I were treated to some phony southern drawl repeatedly saying F.U.. And not at a low volume either. The staff is always pleasant, but I have yet to find something here that I must eat. It's also pretty expensive. I only go when my mom wants to go.
google avatar

Dustin P.

Yelp
Absolutely and positively the best breakfast spot anywhere in this area. We go here 3x a week and never miss a beat. They have amazing healthy options and their regular options are absolutely to die for. All the servers are beyond professional and absolutely 10/10 in serving and giving hospitality. This is a 5 star breakfast spot.
google avatar

Richard L.

Yelp
We needed to go to Thousand Oaks when we found ourselves hungry and looking for a place to eat. We googled Bo's house of Omelettes. We drove right past it. Street signage is hard to find on Thousand Oaks Blvd. but we finally found the place. It's a quaint breakfast and lunch diner. Extensive menu. Really good food. I had the bacon and cheese omelette and my table mate ordered a Monte Cristo. We both loved the food. Elizabeth, our server was courteous and helpful. The place was packed when we arrived. Prices are fair and parking is kind of easy. Small lot plus limited street parking. Give this place a try. It's been around for a while.
google avatar

Erika B.

Yelp
Love this place always have since it was Harrolds and i was a kid Would have thought though with the name change or owner whatever happened and the fact they closed for a bit that they would have updated the decor some. Still the same wallpaper. Taped up booths. But the food is still the same too Good!!!! Really good

Donna F.

Yelp
We went on a very busy Sunday morning and the service was very slow. The waiter apologized for the delay and then finally brought our food out (not very good, BTW) and then our toast came out approx 10 minute later. I cannot figure out why so many people were there? We will go back to IHOP (always good food). Good luck Bo....

Janet M.

Yelp
Love the waffles and the omelette I seen were huge. Good service decent prices definitively recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
Lots of 5 stars and a lots of 1 stars. Just not good at all. Very disappointed. What a same, I really wanted tu like it. Ordered the salsa verde omelette and it was just terrible.
google avatar

Eric L.

Yelp
Super mediocre, even the basic stuff (i.e., eggs, hashbrowns, etc.) is done with very little to no flair. Ordered two egg breakfast with hashbrowns, sausage toast... 16 bucks. Ordered eggs over medium, got eggs over easy, ordered hashbrowns crisp, got hashbrowns soggy, and with a funky old oil taste. I wont be back.
google avatar

Gil W.

Yelp
OMG was the food incredible!! Try the Million Dollar Bacon (order it well-done): thick, crispy bacon coated in maple syrup and cyan pepper... unbelievable! Especially atop a waffle cooked to perfection Thank you for an incredible dining experience!

Kellan M.

Yelp
Food is great but they need some common sense... they sat a party of 2 in a booth that fit 6 people when our party of 5 was ahead of them and we had to wait 20min with 3 kids instead of sitting them at numerous other tables that would have fit the 2
google avatar

Cori C.

Yelp
It's the old Harold's location. The restaurant really needs to be updated. We sat at the booth next to the front door and people were standing right behind my head waiting to be seated. People go here for the good food not the ambience. The service this particular day was awful. We saw our waiter once to take our order and that took at least 10 minutes. After that I had to get up and go to the counter 3 times for our needs. I've been going to this location with all of the different owners after Harold's and I'm sad to say I probably won't go back because nothing has changed since the 60s so that should tell you how run down it is and the service was unacceptable.
google avatar

Ray L.

Yelp
Used to be Harold's house of omelettes. Started coming here in the early'70s. Food is like I remember it. Service was excellent, food came out quickly considering that almost every table was occupied. Will definitely be back! Had a ham and cheese omelette and my wife had a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich. Both were great!
google avatar

Andrea D.

Yelp
This place definitely surprised us! We have not been in years and decided to go over the weekend. We ordered the million dollar waffle, steak and eggs, and the BLT. All were amazing! Sitting outside you get a nice view of the blvd and the staff was friendly. Time to give this place a try or come back if you have not visited in awhile.
