BOS' SiChuan Taste一碟川菜馆

This was our first time visiting Bos’ Sichuan Taste yesterday, and even today I still feel happy thinking about both the food and the service — so I decided to leave a review. From the moment we arrived, we had such a lovely experience. There was a very sweet and friendly female server who patiently answered all of our questions. She recommended the stir-fried beef with chili peppers (Xiao Chao Huang Niu Rou), and it turned out to be an amazing choice. When we got curious and kept asking about how the dried chili peppers are prepared, she took the time to explain everything in detail and even told us we could find the same chilies at a Chinese grocery store and use them with any kind of meat at home. That level of care and patience really stood out. We also ordered the Mapo Tofu and dry pot cabbage — both were absolutely delicious and full of flavor. You can really tell the dishes are made with skill and authenticity. On top of that, the music and overall atmosphere of the restaurant were very relaxing, making the whole dining experience even more enjoyable. Great food, warm service, and a comfortable vibe. We will definitely be coming back again!

DIVINE! Ordered two beef dishes, tea egg, and rice cake. Everything was delicious, hot, and authentic. The szechuan shredded beef was so perfectly seasoned I'm salivating just thinking about it. Service was fast, and even though the menu and ordering process is done through QR code, the waitstaff continued to check in with us to see if there was anything else we needed and consistency topped off waters. It's become our go-to when in Boston! Only note is that it would be nice if rice was included with the main dishes for the price. Would need two orders of rice for one order of shredded beef, so the cost adds up fast

We’ve recently started spending more time around the Brookline and Allston area, and this Saturday we decided to give BOS’ SiChuan Taste (一碟川菜馆) a try. First of all, it was surprisingly easy to find street parking nearby. After checking with the owner, we were happy to hear that they welcome well-behaved dogs to dine with you—our husky Max was able to sit with us instead of waiting in the car, which made our experience even better. Unlike many other places, the owner and staff here are actually from Sichuan, and you can really feel that in both their hospitality and the food. The dishes were authentic and flavorful—especially the cold noodles, which reminded us of the real taste we’ve missed for a long time. The fish dish we ordered was also cooked in a unique Sichuan style: very refresh, tender and delicious, and with no fishy smell at all. Even Max got treated to a bowl of ice water! We truly loved the experience and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for real Sichuan food, especially if you want to avoid the crowds of Boston’s Chinatown.

Bob’s Sichuan Restaurant serves the best Sichuan food in the Boston area. Every restaurant has 鱼香肉丝 麻婆豆腐 on the menu but it takes finesse cooking skills to do them well with just the right balance of ingredients and cooking timing. These are the dishes that test the skills of a true Chinese chef. I go to Bob’s Sichuan restaurant to get good real Sichuan cooking that is more than simple spicy.

I ordered Szechuan spicy aromatic blood hot pot for 33 dollars on Uber Eats and this is size of 33 dollars. I pour out a lot soup and this is the real portion. Not worth at all look like this is only worth 5 dollars.

Came back for the first time in a while and everything was just as good as I remembered, if not better. The owner recommended dishes after I told him what I was feeling like eating, and every single plate was absolutely delicious. The fragrant flavors brought me back to China immediately. I ended up getting some eel, pork kidney, fish maw, beef, pork bone soup, and their signature noodles. This restaurant is for sure the most authentic Sichuan food you can get around the area.

Casual modern Sichuan fare with underrated hits. Stopped by a couple times for quick lunches, and while they’re not as busy as it once was (especially with Mountain House around the corner), the food here still beats most Sichuan spots I’ve been in the city. Clean space, solid service, and no misses. My favorites so far were the Braised pork elbow and the Beef brisket noodles. The pork elbow was like a warm, heartier version of the garlic pork appetizer—slightly fattier, but the chili flakes on the side added a sweet-spicy kick that balanced it perfectly. As for the noodles, the shoyu-style broth was light yet savory, with tender brisket and perfectly al dente noodles. Simple, comforting, and well-executed. I also tried two lunch specials, both decent but with minor quirks. The potato grilled pork ribs donburi had well-seasoned ribs paired with braised vegetables—flavorful, though the bone cuts were a bit awkward (watch out for sharp edges). The "halibut rice" was misleading—no fish, just braised pork belly in a soy-BBQ sauce. Still tasty over rice. The prices here aren’t exactly budget-friendly, but I would occasionally come back for that braised pork elbow.

This is my husband’s favorite Sichuan restaurant in the Allston area, and we tried some new dishes this time. The garlic pork slices were impressive, with a slightly chewy texture and a flavorful, rich chili sauce. However, the boiled fish was a bit disappointing—the fish seemed to be frozen, affecting the texture and taste, despite the thoughtful seasoning. Special mention goes to the excellent service. The waitress patiently helped us move to a warmer table and kept refilling our water and soy milk. Overall, the experience was a mix of good flavors and warm hospitality.

Really good food and drinks especially the lion's mane and the soy milk! Service was good and efficient. Ambiance was perfect. Very quiet and intimate

This past weekend I saw a free delivery special from Door Dash so decided to give this place a shot. I had just tried Boston Soup Dumpling and wanted to see how the two compared. I was shocked by the price for the soup dumplings...until they arrived. $12 is great until you realize they're bite size. I'm also not sure if it was because I got them delivered, but they were rlly lacking soup. They were frankly a bit dry. The entire order didn't come with any sauces either so I had to use what I had at home. The chili pork dumplings made up for the soup ones. Super solid. They have their dough down to a science. Some of the best I've had. I am not sure I'd order from here again, gonna stick with Boston Soup Dumpling for time being!

in my opinion this is a great spot for sichuan food (i am surprised by the negative reviews). BOS has a minimalist aesthetic and a large menu of options. We got the wontons, dan dan noodles, and i believe a sezchuan pork noodle dish. The wontons were fantastic, the pork was so well seasoned, the casing was soft, and the sezchuan was delicious and the perfect amount of spicy. I wasn't sure abotu the dan dan based on appearance being just the meat and noodles but the meat was seasoned very well, so it was super flavorful. The noodles were bouncy, and the sauce gave you the classic numb! The last noodle dish we got was good, not super memorable. Service was fast!

Prices are completely insane on Doordash. They have some % off promos but it only applies to one item at a time. $25 for a basic fried rice is just ridiculous.

I went to this restaurant with three friends (party of four). The food was okay but nothing special, so I would've normally given it an average rating. However, the tipping situation completely ruined the experience. At checkout, my boyfriend selected 15% tip on the payment machine. After that, the manager came over and insisted that "for a table of four, the minimum tip is 18%," and pressured us to increase it to 18%. I did not see any clear notice on the menu or in the restaurant saying that parties of four are automatically charged an 18% gratuity. If the manager hadn't chased us down, we would have had no idea about this "rule." This felt very non-transparent and uncomfortable, and it left a really bad impression. If you care about honest and clear pricing, double-check your bill and the tip section carefully here. For us, this experience was enough to decide we won't be coming back.

"sezchuan dandan noodles" what can I say that you can't see? I spent $50 on the worst Chinese food I've ever had- and Szechuan is my favorite... the Dan Dan was missing all the other ingredients that weren't meat and noodles (and those were terrible). The Kung Pao Chicken didn't taste like chicken and definitely was frozen. Chewy and barely edible. I decided I would rather go hungry so I threw it out and it's cereal for me tonight

Great authentic Chinese food. Sorta Pricey but so is everything in boston. Not a lot of seats, but they found a way to squeeze us in. Service was ok. You order off the online menu.

For a weekend dinner, I decided to get Sichuan food with a friend as BOS SIchuan Taste. The establishment was half full, so I received a table immediately. My friend and I ordered to share the 小椒牛肉絲 / Pepper Beef ($22.99), 虎皮青椒 / Sauteed Whole Spicy Green Pepper ($16.99), and 冒菜 / Instant Boiled Spicy Hot Pot ($24.99). The Pepper Beef arrived first, after 5 minutes. While tender, I wish it came out hotter. Considering how fast it arrived, it may have been another table's or a cancelled order redirected. The Sauteed Whole Spicy Green Pepper arrived 5 minutes after the Pepper Beef. It was piping hot, well-seasoned (salty with a touch of vinegar) and a decent blistering. The last item, the Instant Boiled Spicy Hot Pot, took another 20 minutes to arrive after the Sauteed Whole Spicy Green Pepper. This dish, essentially a spicy stew with misc. vegetables and meats, arrived less hot than desired. My bowl of rice had already cooled down. I suspect that the dish had sat in the kitchen for a while while the one overtaxed waitress had to do everything from plating to cleaning to ringing up tables. Overall, the food tasted ok, but seemed overpriced given the portion sizes. That, along with the inconsistent times for dishes to plate, make Bos Sichuan Taste not worth dealing with, especially since 一麻一辣 / Mala Restaurant is one block away.

we tried this restaurant for the first time recently. We were so happy with the service and the food we got the sweet duck, which was delicious the shrimp, lo mein soup, dumplings, other dumplings and ribs. The service was fantastic and they even told us they thought we might be ordering too much food so we deleted a few things, and then we paid the bill. They had not given us the credit for the deleted items and chase us down to give us $18 that would've been paying for food. The sweet duck was delicious and a half portion was more than enough. The shrimp lomein and the soup dumplings were very tasty. And the other dumplings I just forget what they were were delicious as well so happy to have tried this place and will be coming back.

Wow, i was definitely blown away by the spicy lamb here! I'm not really a lamb person but they made it really well! This is what I'll be coming back for. In terms of other food, it's pretty typical Sichuan fare here. The mapo tofu is not the best that I've ever had, but definitely hits the spot. Same with the other big Sichuan staples like the spicy fried chicken cubes and the green beans. The ordering system here is pretty unique as you scan a QR code and you order on Chowbus. It made things pretty easy to order and get. Don't expect too much from the waiters here as, especially at Chinese restaurants, checking in on you it's not some thing that they usually do. So if you need their attention for anything, just holler out and someone will come!

Really love this restaurant! First we thought that it was just another restaurant offering spicy food and called itself Sichuan cuisine. Actually most of their dishes are mala not hot spicy, which is truly representing Sichuan cuisine. We selected Sichuan spicy rice noodle (excellent), chili chicken (good), eggplant with minced pork (excellent), intimate beef brisket claypot (excellent), shredded potato home style (excellent), and wok tossed pig kidney (excellent). There are more dishes we definitely want to try. Next time! The service was also excellent!

Amazing! I have been eating Sichuan food all my life and all over the world. This place is special. The owner is this nice young man from Changdu, very enthusiastic about the food. He even gave up some free samples of what he ate with the chefs for dinner. What a guy. So I ordered from the menu in Chineses, I will describe the dishes best I can. The first dish is spicy cold glass noodles (涼粉）it is my wife's all time favorite. They make it here with a touch of vinegar, peppercorn, and pickled red chili, she absolutely loved it. The second dish was salt and pepper squid, very nice light batter, also very well done. Then the sautéed cabbage in pork fat, a currently trendy dish. My wife was blown away and cannot stop eating it. Then the classic hot pepper chicken Chong Qing style, it has such a crunch, extremely well seasoned. The last dish the owner brought out with pride, fresh fish with tofu in hot oil. The fish melt in your mouth. The tofu absorbed the flavor of fish and all the spices. This is the dish the chef used to make for us as a treat when I was working in a sichuan restaurant. Very well done. Overall a great experience. I cannot recommend this place enough.

I came here specifically to try the Dan Dan noodles, a weak point for Boston. I thought it was great, even as takeout. Definitely the best in the city I'd say.

Great authentic sichuan food - this place immediately jumped to one of my favorite Chinese places in Boston. My favorite dish (went back a second time just to get it again) was the chili chicken. It's a cold slippery chicken dish with green sichuan chili peppercorns oil. Mouth watering, mouth numbing, and delicious.

One of the best Sichuan restaurants around Boston! We got the garlic steamed pork which had a very e generous amount of tender pork in a chili oil. We also got the Sichuan jelly which was sour and numbing, it was good but would likely not get again. The cumin beef was crispy with perfect balance of fresh and crunchy Chinese celery. I will certain be back

Food are so delicious, I really love spicy food If I live closer, I would like to come every week

This new Sichuan restaurant is an interesting mixed bag. Atmosphere is at fast food level, no liquor license, not cheap, but the taste was the most authentic we had around Boston in many years. Double cooked pork, cumin flavored beef, bamboo shoots, and Dan Dan Mien. Especially the Dan Dan Mien stood out as it was not so oily and made with the unique pickled vegetables (I don't know what they are, but I remember the taste from Chengdu) as well as a heavy load of very fresh numbing Sichuan pepper corn. I would not go there for a date or a party, but I will enjoy the leftovers now.

I am not much of a Chinese-style food eater, so I was taking a risk. I got the garlic eggplant, it was amazing! My review is only about the eggplant! I'll be back to try more dishes with the garlic eggplant.

I've been on the search for the perfect spicy dumplings and I finally found them here. Imagine this: It's a cold 20 F day and you decided to go on a 5 hour walk. A craving begins to grow as the sun sets and your toes and hands are beginning to feel cold even inside of the winter gear you have on. Something warm, spicy, and flavorful would be perfect. You order the Chili Spice dumplings from BOS sichuan Taste and feel its warmth as you pick it up to walk home (I should have eaten at the restaurant - so much anticipation!). The first bite is the taste of the savory meat, and then the flavorful chili sauce begins to simmer, warming you up from the inside. The chili sauce here is not overwhelming or mindlessly numbing, it is a perfect balance that gives hints of the chilis used and dreams of numbing you. The leftover sauce is perfect for pouring over rice to give it an extra warm kick after. I really should have ordered more than one thing, but the one thing I ordered was one of the best winter dishes I've had in Boston yet. If you like sichuan food, this place is amazing. Price point for some of the main entrees is a little much but I won't hesitate to buy them next time.

Do not order takeout from this restaurant!! If you want to pick up things might go well for you. After all the good reviews I was really disappointed in our experience. We ordered 24 hours ahead for a dinner gathering tonight because we all needed to eat at six and got three phone calls during the day about things that they were out of so we said fine we made substitutions they said it would be fine and then they called me like three times during the day including driving during rush-hour traffic asking me to come pick up the order instead of getting it delivered or go online to GrubHub and place a new order- So at the end of the day they ended up delivering rice and one entree noodles to my friends house and they canceled the rest of the dinner-we tried to call and give them a credit card to place a new order and the person on the phone hung up on my friend then wouldn't answer the phone-so basically we had rice and one noodle dish the rice was actually pretty good the noodle dish was ordered medium and it was super spicy-was mostly just a hassle of dealing with this place was really stressful when you're trying to place an order ahead so you won't have to deal with something like this. I appreciated that the woman was having a hard time but like to pull over on a highway to give her credit card was kind of hard so I told her my friend would call her and he tried calling and they wouldn't even answer the phone-so we just ate one entrée of noodles rice and then leftover food at his house. So much for a nice relaxing dinner that you planned ahead of time.

All the food was cooked to perfection. My group had the Kung Pao Chicken, Mapo Tofu, and Spicy Beef. The beef and chicken were extremely tender.

Really good Dan Dan noodles, cumin beef, and dongpo tofu. I enjoy the authentic Sichuan peppercorns on everything very much and nothing is overly greasy. The cabbage with vinegar was the only dish I've tried that was just okay. Looking forward to trying the Sichuan fried chicken and some of the fish dishes. Hard to order delivery because on every platform they have a different menu but still worth it.

Went here with a few friends and we got a reservation ahead of time (but I wasn't very packed when we got there). Food is ordered on the phone with a QR code at the table, which was really convenient. Everything we got there was delicious and my only complaint was that the calamari/squid was a little hard for some reason. Otherwise, they've got the Sichuan taste perfectly in their dishes and we weren't disappointed with any of our dishes. My favorite was the Dry Hot Pot, which you can rarely find in Asian spots around Boston.

Food was amazing! The ribs were amazing as well. The vibe is very chill. The servers were also very kind to us, overall great experience.

It is so nice to find an authentic Sichuan restaurant in Boston. we went on a Monday night and all the patrons there are Asians. The ordering is automated through your phone (i.e. no paper menu) and the menu is pretty extensive. We ordered quit a bit for two people, and everything was excellent. The spicy wonton was great. The dan dan noodle was not what I am used to but it is excellent. The fried dumpling was a bit disappointing (it was literally deep fried). The steamed veg buns was piping hot and delicious. The dry fried chicken is the best I have had anywhere. The cabbage, and pork with bamboo shoots were all very tasty. The service was also very attentive and helpful. The price is a bit high but it seems that every restaurant raised their prices by 30% now so its not too out-of-way expensive.

Some of the best, most authentic Sichuan food I've had in America. My family is from Sichuan and we were all raving about this place. They're a relatively new restaurant. I'm leaving a review because I want to make sure they stay in business so I can keep eating here. We got the boiled beef, roasted fish, cold noodles, chili oil chicken, pepper frog, and sweet duck. Everything was really amazing. The cold noodles (凉粉）are the chef's special concoction. The taste is really special. Can't say enough good things. I wholeheartedly recommend this place.

Just like what I ate before back in China, so damnnnn gooood. No gonna lie this is the best sichuan restaurant in Boston.

Surprise find of such an authentic Sichuan restaurant here near Allston. Szechuan Dan Dan Noodle is best I had in US.
