Dubai Chocolate Lattes and More Late-Night Yemeni Coffee Hits SoMa | Eater SF

"In Hayes Valley, Kis Cafe has quietly reopened as Bosque; the menu and aesthetic are apparently the same as its predecessor, but there’s no website or social media this time around." - Paolo Bicchieri

Soooo incredibly yums. Food is on par with the food I’ve had in NYC (I used to live there) which says a lot! Favorites included the scallop with brown butter and truffle blend (could easily down ten of those), the scallop/salmon crudo, the mussels (which we learned are uniquely bred to be this plump), and, to my utter delight, the bread. Not sure what they treat the bread with, but it’s some of the freshest and crackliest baguette I’ve ever encountered. The salted butter is chef’s kiss. Owner is a real gem and cares deeply about the sourcing of the ingredients - palpable in the excellent quality of the items served. Sit back, relax, enjoy a nice glass of wine (the Burgundy white was excellent) while you nibble on some delicious bites and bask in the warm glow of the Noguchi lamps. Definitely worth a visit ~~

Super cute restaurant! We love a short menu- makes it very easy to pick. The honey butter toast was bomb and good for kids, bacon delish, avocado toast was nice and hearty, and steak and eggs looked good too! There was honeycomb in the granola and yogurt. Will definitely have to come back to try the dinner menu!

Lovely gem in Hayes Valley. Delectable food, some people say they’re small plates but they are actually medium-size dishes with very reasonable prices IMO. Service was efficient and friendly but not overbearing. we had black cod which was light and flaky, roasted chicken thigh which was well seasoned and tender. The last entree we had was hanger steak which was cooked medium rare and perfect! The place was very cute inside, cozy with plenty of tables and bar seats, not too loud for private conversation with friends. Also, we got a chance to meet and chat with the owner Eric for a little bit and he seems like a nice guy.

We stopped by during our wine hop and the wine selection is great. We had brunch before but we sat at counter and its open concept so you can see the chef. The food looked and smelled amazing. Next time I visit in SF, id love to come back and try the food.

Small menu but everything’s great! You’d think Hayes valley should have more cute brunch/ gathering spots like this but unfortunately no. Hope this place stays forever!

This is such a cute little neighborhood spot with really delicious bites and an incredible wine list. The vibe is so laid back and chill but the experience is comforting and warm! It’s a great date night spot, or a chill place to grab a drink with your friends - everyone is so nice and friendly, and you can tell they really value their customers. Excited to go back!

It’s pretty expensive for the portions. It’s like a mix or trying to be tapas and being like a fancy restaurant with small portions. The bruschetta was $11 for two very small bland pieces. The host seemed to favor the table next to us because he offered them an intro drink and three pieces of bruchetta so seems like the portion increases with the amount of people you have but you are still charged the $11. He also went to the three others tables and asked for they were but not us and the people at the bar. The waitress was super great tho! I wish them the best since they didn’t have a chance with the previous version but we will not be back.

Stopped by for brunch and had the steak and eggs in shakshuka. Everything was really tasty and well done. Charming new space just off the end of the busy part of Hayes, with beautiful decor and tall ceilings, and very friendly, positive staff.

Yelp
What a quaint little neighborhood gem! As a regular of the neighboring German pub-like restaurant, I was skeptical to venture out of my comfort zone into the unforeseen. To my suprise, the staff were hardly bereft of enthusiasm despite my close-to-closing entrance. They offered me a delicious glass of wine and didn't hesitate to offer a second regardless of an emptying dinning room. I ended up babbling with not just the server, but the chefs and owner as well, solidifying Bosque as a destination for return.

Yelp
The food is awfully pretentious and lacking. The ambiance would make you expect something quaint and cozy, yet what arrived felt more like an exercise in culinary ego than an actual meal. Yes, the food looks nice, but where's the taste? If I wanted something cute for social media, I would've stayed home and asked ChatGPT for help. As for the service... Well, let's just say they skimp on a lot of things, but snark is not one of them.

Yelp
Such a wonderful restaurant! Tasty food, cozy and cool ambiance, good prices, and great service. I sat at the bar and had a great time. Will be my new neighborhood spot!!

Yelp
The food is delicious and the service is attentive and friendly. We sampled most of the menu and every dish was well presented and tasty. We also enjoyed some excellent wine---great options by the glass or bottle. All that combined with a low-key and lovely ambience makes for a delightful evening and we will be back!

Yelp
This friendly and bright restaurant has an excellent wine by the glass list and great California style small plates. The food is fresh and interesting and pairs well with the wines. The bottle list is focused on reasonably priced options ($45--$75). The service is friendly and the ambience casual but refined. A great place for wine and a snack or for a full meal.
