Portland’s Killer Southern Restaurants and Food Carts

"Located in the Cartside food cart pod on North Williams, Boss Po’boys stuffs rolls sporting a skirt of lacy crisped cheese with fried catfish, shrimp, and nontraditional fillings like carnitas. Those interested in something snackier can opt for a pile of hushpuppies or Cajun fries, or a sweet pile of churro beignets. Keep an eye out for specials, from pulled pork sandwiches topped with fried mac and cheese to fruity pebble cheesecake." - Eater Staff

One of the best po'boys I've ever had. I got the shrimp - husband got the carnitas. Yum! Protein was nicely seasoned. Bread has melted cheese on it. Good amount of veggies. Delicious sauce. He said he only got to this spot (Cartside Food Carts) 2 weeks ago and he's working along - regardless, the food was prepped quickly and served hot in temp. Food was so good, my husband doesn't usually eat tomatoes but he didn't pick them off the po'boy and didn't complain either. Delicious - 10/10 - would eat here again!

I really enjoyed the special hot honey chicken sandwich with Cajun fries. The menu had multiple options I was wanting to try but I opted for the special and wasn’t disappointed. They fried the chicken well. The cheese toasted bun was just right . Also the house brined pickles were a great addition. The Cajun fries were finished without being offered to any of my accompanying companions. Overall I say go there and get served up by the “Boss”

Fantastic shrimp po’boy; best I’ve had outside of New Orleans. Super nice owner. Come support a Black-owned business in North Portland!

Says it's open, but it's not. Disappointing, we were super excited.
