We made a reservation on OpenTable at 11:15am on a Sunday in case this restaurant may be too busy for brunch. Bosscat is in a shared plaza with different other facilities, which also has a shared parking structure that wasn't too hard to find parking. Upon arriving, it's lively restaurant that has a DJ playing for brunch, but not too many diners that filled up the entire restaurant. There was a decent amount, but I wouldn't say they were busy at all.
Once we checked in, the front desk told us to wait until our server will be ready. Oddly enough, 30 minutes have passed and we were still waiting to be seated. There was literally no point in making a reservation since we weren't promptly seated, and waiting for the server to get "situated"? It took so long and there were plenty of tables open as well, we could have just seated ourselves...
After finally being seated, we ordered right away since we already knew what we wanted from the menu. We ordered the steak and eggs and the smokehouse benedict. It took an additional 25 minutes for our meal to get to our table, the food wasn't even hot. Our dishes were warm / room temperature. Did they just forget our meal? Everyone here was mainly here for drinks and alcohol, but maybe we just didn't get alcohol so we could pass by the time faster, but we just wanted to eat.
My bf's steak and eggs, he said they were just standard and wasn't that flavorful. It went the same with my pulled pork on my benedict, the pulled pork was pretty bland. I did like how the biscuit on the bottom was still crispy and not soggy as most brunch places would normally prepare it, but I felt like it didn't appeal enough to make this who dish better. The potatoes for both our dishes were okay.
Overall, food was mediocre, service was not great, also a vibe killer from the whole experience. Reservations didn't mean anything, so don't bother making one for brunch. Definitely better brunch options elsewhere.
