What to Eat at Quincy Market | Eater Boston

"Known for a very good version of New England clam chowder; the indulgent clam chowder–filled bread bowl is a signature option, with the hollowed round loaf acting like one giant oyster cracker—decadent and fun, though heavy if you plan to continue a food crawl." - Erika Adams

The lobster roll special was okay for what the price was. It was everything that I was looking for in a roll — doused in butter, loaded roll of actual lobster, and a light bun. Still, for almost $60, always want more. The clam chowder was pretty good, very filling, so I’d recommend getting the small. Pink lemonade was too sweet and artificial tasting, couldn’t finish it. The shop stuck out in the busy market — loved the sign design and the showcase of food. Finding a place to sit can be hard, just gotta keep an eye out. Lobster roll: 8.7 Clam chowder: 7.5 Pink lemonade: 3.2

Good food. Clam chowder in the bread was good looks big but not much chowder ones you start to eat, more bun the the soup. The crab cakes were very good, delicious, full of flavour.

For award-winning chowder, I was expecting more. I had the classic New England clam chowder and a lobster roll. While I definitely liked eating both dishes (to be fair, I like eating in general) there are definitely better locations in terms of wait and taste, but the price was really good for the amount I was served. The chowder was too watery and had too much pepper. To their defense, it could have just been a bad batch.

The clam chowder was very good overal, rich, creamy, and satisfying, though a bit too peppery for my taste. The service was excellent: quick, friendly, and attentive even when busy. A solid spot for a classic New England chowder experience.

Food was delicious. Bit pricey for what I am used to (Not from Massachusetts), but on par for the Boston area. The shrimp roll and lobster Chowda were delicious. So much flavor in both items. The area of the hall for seating is pretty terrible, can be total chance if you can find a seat to eat, especially if you're in a group or have your family with you, but thats nothing against the restaurant itself.

What a shame…this place is the definition of false advertising. The lobster rolls are tiny, with barely any meat, and they taste very bland just like the flavor of the bread/garlic. The main issue is the quantity of lobster for the price. It’s a similar price to Neptune lobster ~$41-42, for maybe 1/5 of the lobster. See the photo with a lemon on top for reference. The only redeeming factor is the clam chowder, which is still overpriced but at least has a robust and decent flavor. I would recommend skipping this place and trying other options in the city, unless you like wasting money.

Never had clam chowder before and we saw this place when we were walking around Faneuil Hall. The staff let us try the types of chowder they had and recommended us this one with the saltines and the brioche bread. It was so thick, warm and creamy that it almost put us to sleep right there and then. 100% would recommend

Best clam chowder I’ve ever had , we made sure to go everyday when we were in town . The seating is limited but that didn’t stop us . We got the cold lobster roll on our first day and the hot butter lobster roll the next and it was delicious . I still prefer the cold over the warm sandwich. Everything was amazing 😌 10/10
