The Best Fast-Food Restaurant Mac and Cheese | Eater

"Bright-orange, Kraft-like mac and cheese that leans into homestyle, Thanksgiving-and-family-meal vibes; what sets it apart is the use of rotini noodles, whose spirals trap the cheese sauce and create a satisfyingly squishy bite. The chain typically pairs this side with rotisserie chicken, mashed potatoes, sweet corn, and cornbread for a traditional comfort-food meal." - Jenny G. Zhang

Why Costco Will Never Raise the Price of Rotisserie Chicken | Eater

"Credited with convincing consumers in the early 1990s to pay for prepackaged rotisserie chickens, this chain helped turn a once-quintessential homemade meal into a supermarket staple and jump-started the market for ready-to-eat roasted birds." - Daniela Galarza

Google
I really used to love Boston Market, but this was a real disappointment. I stopped here because there are none near me, and I haven't had the food in years. The food was nothing like I remember. The mashed potatoes tasted weird, way off, almost had like a soapy paper taste. The mac and cheese was so watery and runny. Corn bread was dry and tasted old. The chicken was so bland. I'm not sure if it's just this location or they changed all their recipes over the years, but this was not worth it. The staff was super friendly though.

Veronica Freed

Google
Such a disappointment! I have fond childhood memories of Boston Market and took my son to eat here for the first time, wanting to share that experience. Food was terrible, and I'm not usually much of a critic. Everything tasted stale and had no flavor. The place was totally empty, so I suppose that should've been an indicator. They took away some of my favorite sides and even changed the spiral noodles in the mac and cheese. Wish I could go back to the good old days.

Google
I guess I can say it was good. I was looking for the people to be a little bit more friendly and sociable. I guess it was around lunch time and they were very busy so what should I have expected. I don't know. The creamed spinach was good. Maybe not as good as my version. But good for me not to have to cook it. I remember getting their creamed spinach a long time ago. Now they make you pay a little bit more I don't think they should for it. It's considered a premium side so they up charge you for it. I think I got one forth chicken cream spinach and another side I can't remember what it was. To me it was pretty good. I enjoyed my time in there the restaurant was clean. They were getting people in and out. The decor was nice. I think it was pretty good average Boston Market.

Lloyd Caldwell

Google
The place is now privately owned. The lady at the register with the piercing in her lip is not friendly and should not be up front. The cook guy is such a great person. The food has changed not same ingredients or quality. I will not be returning.

Google
Awful. I used to love Boston market and now I don't think I will ever visit another location ever again. We went in for lunch and they had printed out a menu of things that they had and scratched out the things that they were out of. However, when we ordered they failed to tell us that the drink machine was down. So my husband ordered the chicken carver which he said was okay and I ordered the crispy chicken meal. As I went down the lane to get my sides I asked for chicken noodle soup and she told me they didn't have any. Okay. It's only on the banners that they have outside. It's on their signs. It's everywhere. They used to have great chicken noodle soup. We proceed to look for sides and everything looked so gross. It looked either way over cooked or just not appealing in the slightest. I ended up getting mashed potatoes because how can you go wrong with mashed potatoes but oh boy was I wrong! They were the worst mashed potatoes that I've ever had in my life. The crispy chicken was supposed to come with cream gravy and she said that they didn't have cream gravy. They only had brown. So okay. Guess I have to get that. I also got mac and cheese which was actually okay. As we're at the checkout, she then tells us that their drink machine is down and we have to get a bottle. So at that point we were like no. I told the lady ringing us up that I was surprised they didn't tell us that they drink machine was down before we were at the checkout. She started getting so mad and said she's just trying to keep this place open. I said oh are you the manager and she said yes and I said well then I guess I'm going to need to call the district manager because she was super rude. I'm shocked a manager would talk to customers the was she did. Anyway, the management of the Beechnut location needs to be seriously looked at. For them to be out of so many things and that kind of attitude from management I'll be surprised if the location stays open much longer. . picture to show how tiny the chicken is

Google
They were out of prime ribs at 7 already. that's the main reason for the missing star. other than that, chicken and St Louis ribs were good and tender, sides were fresh and tasty. Corn bread was new for me and it was pretty good. i wish meat was slightly hotter. service was alright, nothing outstanding, just ok enough. the place was kinda clean, except for 2 or 3 tables that people left messy and nobody in the staff cleaned. when i think of it, it just deserved another star loss. too bad. To sum up, food is great, service and cleanliness are so-so.

Deonna Benton

Google
So I ordered through Door Dash which is not far from my job, and I feel as if I receive scraps of meat because I was not present. This is very disappointing that an individual who represents a food establishment would send a plate out to a paying customer that looks like the picture below. I'm afraid to eat it because this chicken seems to the pieces to throw out. They are hard in spots which is not edible. This is sad. I wonder made this plate. I wonder when they eat at home would they want this. Just terrible. I think this does it for me. I'm no longer a patron.

MR R. Griffin El

Google
Some old guy decided to "rehydrate" the mashed potatoes by "adding some water" to them. Mashed potatoes are supposed to be THICK N HEARTY...not runny and diluted. BosMark has EXCELLENT mashed potatoes that never needed any "rehydration ". The entire bin was full so apparently he added water to a full batch. Get that old guy off of front counter and put him on dish duty. I asked for more gravy on my meatloaf and he had a side comment "oh you like yours floating ". Send this guy to sweep the parking lot or something, anything to keep him away from serving customers. I should have went to the Panda spot and got some rice and shrimp

Yelp
I used to order chicken from here that was good. But after my Thanksgiving catering experience, I will never go again. After trying to order catering for work, I needed to cancel an order as it was not going to be enough for everyone. I called the store multiple times, no one would pick up. Then I was hung up on a few times. I finally got a hold of a manager who told me there was no way they could cancel orders and refund us. So the food got delivered anyway and the turkey was pink, gray, and did NOT look cooked. Total waste of money and terrible customer service.

Yelp
I hadn't been to a Boston Market in years, so I was excited to see one in the area where I was shopping. I will start with the positives. The staff were helpful. The 1/2 chicken was good and cooked thoroughly. However, I ordered corn as a side and it didn't retain its heat from the warmer. By the time I sat down it was already cold. The restaurant was not as clean as I had hoped. A couple of the drink options were not available for whatever reason.

Yelp
Use actual cooking systems & foods of Boston Market. Food was not hot. Mayo made me ill.

Marie C.

Yelp
We just had a horrible experience at Boston Market. The entire restaurant smelled like gas. The chicken was dry and old. Everything was cold. The fountain drinks was out of order. It really needs to be shut down. We paid $30.65 for two plates that we literally threw in the trash

June R.

Yelp
The food used to be fresh and exciting. I got Turkey that was ok, mushy vegetables and cornbread that was stale and way too sweet. It's a shame.

Cristal B.

Yelp
There was paper still on the cheese in my sandwich. The bread was old and soggy. I didn't have this experience with the Willowbrook location.

Rashan D.

Yelp
I have 2 gift cards to Boston Market but this location doesn't accept Boston market gift cards. This is the only location which is still open in all of Houston.... No wonder these places are closing down.

M W.

Yelp
The roasted chicken used to be excellent about a year ago, but now it's not good at all. It's very gamey and dry. The sides are also disappointing. In fact, my child got sick afterwards. The service was okay, but the store itself looks like it's on the verge of closing down. It's just not what it used to be. I will not be returning.

MaMa M.

Yelp
I ordered the large meatloaf dinner for my children tonight. Not only do I always put a note to make sure that the meatloaf is well done, but I only received three very small pieces of meatloaf. The meat was discolored. There were colors of green pink and brown all throughout the meat. The meat looks sick! I cannot give this to my children!

Kelly C.

Yelp
This store has gone downhill. The windows are so dirty you can barely see through them and everything seems like the store is closing. Fountain drinks are not available, only bottled water. I got the pot pie and I used to really love it, but it was terrible! This store needs to either go ahead and close down or step it up and clean the place and act like they want to be there!!!

Yelp
Stopped in at 1 PM for lunch. No chicken for an hour according to the woman at the service counter. They had pot pie and meatloaf. The primary offering at this restaurant is chicken. How can you not have any chicken for an hour in the middle of the day? Very disappointing. Poor management would apparently be the cause, but I didn't further inquire as to the failure to have chicken ready for guests.

Yelp
This restaurant is NOT what is used to be. We stood at the glass for several minutes and weren't even acknowledged by the lady working. The cornbread is cold and the food is salty. They don't have a nice In restaurant dining experience at all. You are forced to buy expensive bottle beverages and eat from to-go plates. They are out of sweet potatoes, the green beans are dry and the cinnamon apples are no longer on on the menu. Not to mention the only dessert options are cold chocolate chip cookies wrapped in plastic as if they'd been delivered 2 days ago. I'm shocked that this business is still running.

Will N.

Yelp
Got a 3 piece dark with mashed potatoes and mac and cheese. Chicken was mid. Mashed potatoes tastes like it came from a box. Gravy was dark and more liquid than gravy. Cornbread was cold and didn't tastes like original recipe. There was a customer complaining about not liking his meal. That should have been my sign to leave. Had to answer questions twice bc the employee wasn't listening.

Yelp
I grew up loving Boston Market especially the Creamed Spinach so when I was excited to find that there was a Boston market within 10 minutes of my house in Houston. I went a few months after moving here and I was kind of disappointed with the food. But tonight I had some leftover salmon from an earlier meal and I needed a vegetable so I figured I would just go and pick up some sides from Boston market. I went online and ordered a large cream spinach and a large macaroni and cheese. Upon entering the establishment, it was completely empty not just of customers but of employees as well. I called around to see if anyone was there and no one responded. A gentleman and a T-shirt and shorts came in after me and walked behind the counter and asked me if I'd been helped. I told him I hadn't, feeling a bit confused, and he asked me if I would like to order or if I had already ordered online. I told him I ordered online and he went to the computer. He asked me my name, and I gave him my name and he printed off my ticket and he started making my order. If you're wondering if before talking to me or before, asking me about my order or making my order, if he wash his hands, he did not. While he's making my order, a young lady comes around the corner wearing the maroon Boston market polo and black slacks and ask if I've been helped. I say this gentleman here is helping me and he tells her that there is not any more cream spinach and she says just do sweet potato casserole. She did not consult me to see if I wanted sweet potato casserole. She just decided that that's what I was going to get because it was the same price as the cream spinach.

Yelp
Has definitely gone down hill. Cold cornbread, dried up chicken, all the fountains drinks out and eating in to go boxes. No wonder all of them going out of business

Q H.

Yelp
As a delivery driver my experience was terrible. The manager in the red shirt with red hair has a very bad attitude. I called and she told me she would make what what's missing then when I arrived, she refused. The customer from Door Dash was luckily understanding. I wouldn't recommend. The staff aren't friendly and clearly unhappy. Food also looked over cooked and burnt. I also ordered a chicken sandwich for myself and it was put on the wrong bread. Half of the menu was unavailable which is unacceptable just shut down already ! Then my sandwich was on the wrong bread and made very messy. Naomi was very sweet but the other two people weren't .

Yelp
We pre-ordered their whole Turkey... the management at this store wasn't very great. On thanksgiving day when we were picking up the Turkey, they had a LONG line because their holiday pick up machine was broken so we have to be rung up through the regular register inside the store. For some reason, one of their worker kept telling us there are "no more Turkey", and we had already put in a preorder for 2pm - and this was like around 1:30pm probably? They said they will replace it with 2 rotisserie chicken OR some ham. And I'm over here thinking we paid $60+ for this whole Turkey we're not going to walk away with 2 chicken... anyways we waited until we got to the register to see what they are going to do about it... They ALMOST tried to give us 2 chicken when we asked for only one and a refund. We complained for a bit and then some staff told the cashier there is WHOLE Turkey...?? Anyways, we did get our whole Turkey. It was very confusing - I think their management was very confused on how to handle the holidays. I did see some people walking away without their preorders Turkey. Imagine how many thanksgiving they ruined due to miscommunication... Would NOT recommend getting your holiday preorders here.

Nick G.

Yelp
Ordered Uber Eats from this location and regret it. Got food poisoning and was sick for 2 days. Must have been from the dry skinnish chicken that tasted like a microwaved dinner from a few days ago. I am done with Boston Market. This location in particular. Read the reviews.
google avatar

Tomiko P.

Yelp
The service was horrible and the location did not have working A/C. I used to like this business but not anymore.
google avatar

Shon B.

Yelp
Customer service was as dry as the chicken. Yams had a scorched taste. Why serve something that you wouldn't eat or would you. Drove way from Katy on an empty stomach for a disaster. Should have checked the reviews first smh..

Tine C.

Yelp
The chicken is always like it's not fresh similar to eating heated 2 day old chicken. Also the cornbread is never hot and warm. I asked the manager if the chicken I was served was made the same day. She said it's fresh! It was 11:00am when they opened so I know it was left overs.
google avatar

Maureen H.

Yelp
The food has really gone downhill. The muffins were delicious but the chicken tasted old

Emma C.

Yelp
Management is horrible, service is horrible, do not give this restaurant your business. You would expect decent service on EASTER Sunday. Seriously the entire staff needs to be trained on customer service.

Homero S.

Yelp
Food was dry with zero flavor and staff was not friendly The food looked as if it had been there for hours..i.ordered and was very disappointed..not the Boston Market I remember. Will not be going back to a childhood restaurant of the past.

Yelp
Messed up my DD order, forgot my extra cornbread. I called them. The first employee I spoke to said I could come to the store and pick it up (seriously?). I then asked for a manager. A "Supervisor" came to the phone and stated "Yeah?" How unprofessional. Finally the Store Manager, LaShonda, came on the phone. She offered to refund my $1.09 extra cornbread, or me to to come to the store to get it. I declined both, and said that the least she could do is refund the entire meal. She refused and suggested I request that through DD. I asked her what she thinks this happened and she stated repeatedly that "nobody's perfect" and "everyone makes mistakes." Not one word about disciplining or retraining the employee responsible for the error. I lead a small company with 130 employees. What I would have done is asked the miscreant to clock out, as in his time and gas, go deliver the missed cornbread to the customer. This would have been a powerful lesson... you make an error, you pay for it. But I seriously doubt our manager friend did much at all. And I'm sure these errors will continue. Surprise, surprise. Sigh, these are America's youth today unfortunately... slothful, irresponsible, and unaccountable, they gotta get back to Snapchat asap afterall right? Btw DD have be a partial refund of $7. I would have much preferred them and Boston Market getting the order right.

Yelp
Easter Sunday I was reviewing email and saw that b m open Easter Sunday. Very busy days before Easter. I had not prepared for many stores being closed on Easter. Thank goodness b m was open. I frequent this location. Staff is always nice. Lady that prepared my order mentioned new entrees. Oh gosh. I gotta return soon. B m has been a lifesaver being open on the holidays. If they are closed, I go elsewhere. I'm grateful they are open. Hubby loves chicken pot pie. Lots of chicken. I love many things. Prime rib, half chicken. Sides. Hubby likes corn, we both like mac n cheese. Lots to choose. Veggies, rice, cornbread, dessert. Highly recommend

Yelp
Been to this location a handful of times, a good fuel option for me when I get off work before hitting the gym. First impressions: * Tiny Parking Lot * Small Dining Room * Dirty Floors This location shares the parking lot with multiple businesses, therefore parking is a pain in the ass. As soon as you pull in all the spaces are very crammed. The staff that works here gave me the impression that they do not like their job very much. Not very friendly, no smiling faces, and make sure you YELL OUT your order because they seem to be hard of hearing too. The dining area is very small. There are more 2-people seating tables available that for a family. The floors didn't look very clean, someone get a mop please! Besides the appearance of the building, the food still tastes like a Boston Market. Everything was pretty delicious, I had my first Market Bowl here and I don't regret getting it. Comparing the Market Bowl to their standard plate, I don't really see a difference other than in the Market Bowl you get your two sides crammed into a Bowl with the meat on top instead of having it served on a traditional plate. To my surprise, the side portions of the Marker Bowl seem to be larger than the plate too. Which, IMO, is a good thing because I eat like a hog! I'm little but I can eat! Overall, its still Boston Market, the food is great! The building could use a facelift and the staff could use an attitude adjustment.
google avatar

Real ..

Yelp
We tend to bounce between this location and the one at Westheimer and Hillcroft (that has a drive thru). The food is typically delicious and the portion sizes generous. Aside from a snafu where the manager did not understand their coupon special and was turning away additional business as a result, I prefer this one. The major negative (aside from no drive thru) is that the parking lot is cramped. At times it can be not very fun to maneuver and difficult to find a parking spot.

Steve J.

Yelp
Disappointed, chicken pot pie that made them famous is now inedible. The accountants must be the cooks now. Heck eating paper would have been better.
google avatar

Yelp
Today (7/14/2019) I ordered the turkey breast, mashed potatoes, creamed spinach to take out. The turkey breast was by far the driest and no tasting turkey breast ever. I gave it one star because the mashed potatoes were decent and spinach was just ok, however; the quality of the turkey breast is terrible and should be removed from the menu. And the service needs to be improved. What a disappointing Sunday dinner:(. The chicken used to be pretty good, but looking at some of the reviews, it's not worth going back for it either...BM, what happened to your quality of food?? I also watched them remove food from a to go container, (not sure what happened) and put it back in with the other food being served...should be against health rules or at least should not be done in the presence of customers. We don't know the story and why the food was removed from the container and put back in with the other food...it was obviously for someone... NO NO NO, BAD BAD BAD NOT A GOOD SUNDAY DINNER...never again will I visit a Boston Market!

Yelp
This was a disgusting stop. Went on a Wednesday and they had NO prime rib. I thought well, I would buy some chicken. The steam table was empty ant pathetic. Don't waste your time on the POS servery.
google avatar

Bob Z.

Yelp
Awesome, very fresh food and great, friendly service! Just like a home cooked meal! Worth the extra drive!!
google avatar

Sharon L.

Yelp
Never buying chicken from this Boston Market again. Paid $10.27 for a whole chicken. This is the smallest roast chicken I have ever bought. It hardly fills 1/2 the box.
google avatar

Chi O.

Yelp
As much as I love chicken and sweet potatoes casserole the associate attitude is why I won't patronize this location often, every time I come she acts like the food belongs to her! Girl give me the scoop with the gooey marshmallows too! Sooo annoying! The brussels were good while it lasted. The Mac and cheese used to be my favorite but i go home and season it. During holidays I load it up with real bacon chunks etc

Yelp
On 7-16-2018 at approx. 5:45pm ordered a pulled barbecue chicken sandwich. The lady that attempts to make the sandwich as at the time cleaning the preparation table with a large bucket filled with soapy water and a wash towel. The lady was also using latex gloves to clean. When my order was taken, the cleaning lady drop towel in the bucket, never changed gloves or wash her hands and with the same wet dirty gloves grabbed the bread for my sandwich. I was standing in the lobby witnessing the health violation designated especially for me. I immediately cancelled the sandwiches and advised the manager of what I had witnessed. The manager didn't seem to be surprised and promised to talk to the lady about her actions.

Olivia S.

Yelp
I've not been to this place in years. I called first to see if they were still opened, the lady on the phone was nice. When I walked in it was clean and they had sanitizer ready and visible to use. My server and cashier was Mario, he was so kind I actually remembered his name. Also the food was fresh and Mr. James and Byron threw down in the kitchen. This staff tonight is well trained and managed. I picked the perfect time to come. Excellent service! Give them all a bonus and proper recognition. Chick-fil-A isn't the only chicken restaurant with pleasant service. I was happy to write this review.
google avatar

Darris J.

Yelp
Hadn't been to a Boston market since I left Boston. This one checked all the boxes of what the franchise is known for. The service at this location stands out. I found everyone to be personable and truly enjoying their work and colleagues. Store was clean and tables bussed fairly promptly.

Yelp
I have not been to a Boston Market in ages. When the nearby lunch offerings did not appeal to me or just looked to expensive for a decent lunch break, I saw Boston Market on the other side of the 610 N. Immediately I thought "comfort food" and I drove straight there. The thought of fresh roasted chicken, the large, seasoned potatoes, and the hot fluffy cornbread appealed to my senses. (Especially since I had some paltry fast food the day before). I ordered the 3 piece dark meal with two sides- mac n' cheese and green beans, since they looked good. The chicken itself was tender, juicy, and baked well (maybe even too well, falling apart). However the chicken was medium seasoned and tasted as I remembered it. The green beans looked promising, but they were not as fresh as I envisioned. They could be seasoned a bit more too and they didnt taste that great after it cooled off. The mac n'cheese was contained in the bowl, and so it retained its heat better and was cheesy and perfect. The cornbread was all good as well, not dense but fluffy with an ever so slight crispiness on the top. As long as you don't say yes to the upcharges ($1.49 for an add'l 3rd side?!) you can get a decent, non-burger meal for $8... And feel pretty satisfied and ready to work afterwards.
google avatar

David N.

Yelp
Been back a few times since my initial review and must say that the chicken has gone down hill along with the mac and cheese and corn too. The corn was way too greasy. However, their cornbread is still king and their sweet potato dessert helps pull up the stars.
google avatar

Brian L.

Yelp
They offer the best $16 Prime Rib dinner in Houston. When you get a two for one coupon it's a tremendous deal. Sides are good as well and the side and other drinks are very reasonably priced.
google avatar

Elanny S.

Yelp
My four year old loves cornbread, so we stopped by for an early dinner last Saturday. The chicken was not well cooked and my daughter didn't like it. we stayed to dine and as we were taking our seats the staff announced that they were out of cooked rotisserie chicken and the wait would be another 5 to 10 minutes which had me wishing they would had announced that before serving me that raw dish. It was 5:30pm how do you not manage things better to assure there is cooked Chicken for Dinner time. really bad experience and a total waste of money.
google avatar

Denise A.

Yelp
Warm food quick service price okay many options of home style food over all clean atmosphere not much parking area noted

Shirley C.

Yelp
Boston Market advertises on various coupon websites offering 10% discount for seniors. This is a scam. My husband and I went there, ordered 2 dinners, asked for the senior discount, but we got 7% off. When we questioned it, the cashier said that was the amount the cash register showed for a senior discount. Do they think seniors can't calculate 10%? Also the food was cold, unappetizing and with an upgrade charge for a side of sweet potatoes. Really? Boston Market- your gave us 100% reasons not to come back so- goodbye

Heather K.

Yelp
Went for the prime rib on a Sunday. It was surprisingly good for one step up from fast food. The prime rib was a little more well done than I like, but it is not like it is made to order. The sides were good, pretty generous. I ordered through the app and it offered a coupon but when I tried to add it, it said it did not work. I assume the prime rib was an exception. It did let me use a 10% for pick up. It was already ready when I got there a few minutes earlier than instructed. Overall, it was a good experience.

Jimishia R.

Yelp
I love the chicken pot pie. It's everything. It's full of flavor and meat. And the cornbread on side just tips it off.

Jorge S.

Yelp
Absolutely ridiculous service, over priced meal for such A messy low budget quality of food. As for the over the counter service, nothing was prep or it was frozen meaning their were no fresh produce. Highly disappointed and yet I got charged $15 for this including a drink.

Yelp
So many choices! It really is a hit or miss kind of thing at this location, but more hits than misses. The only problem is the service, sometimes they need more people. What it is about Boston Market? They exist all over the country, and it is the typical rotisserie chicken chain but yet, I can't get enough. Nothing special, but the foods is always fresh and so are the sides. It must be the fact that I eat here 2-4 times a month, they keep kicking' on my taste buds. I'm also a sucker for roasted chicken and any place that serves turkey not on Thanksgiving. Cheers to mashed potatoes and stuffing, great stuff here! In that respect, it's like Wendy's. It just never enters into the equation, though it's generally at least as fast as other options (and probably about as healthy in many respects). In any case - I never know what I want, so I end up panicking in line and ordering something I don't really want, and end up unhappy. The good news here is that the staff is nice, and the food is fresh. It's just not what I wanted, which leaves me unhappy spending what I did for the food. If you're hungry and you want something that will stick to your ribs/ and not get hungry 2-3 hrs after you finish, come here!

Yelp
I call Boston Market home. Don't get me wrong, there have been several negative instances where the food wasn't of the quality that I expect it to be, but overall this place is great. So lets begin. The selection is tantalizing. My personal favorites: Turkey Green Beans Mixed Vegetables ( Mashed Potatoes New Potatoes Dark Chicken Macaroni and Cheese Cornbread (OH GOD THE CORNBREAD) Everything there is delicious and best of all healthy and affordable. (well at least the stuff that I get, there is some pretty unhealthy stuff there but the beauty of the situation is that it's all up to you) Service is also pretty great, there's a girl there that is super nice and I happen to have a huge crush on her but I can never grow the cojones to ask her out lol. Pricing is decent, I always use coupons (available on the bm website), and overall this is as good as it gets (at least in my opinion).

Yelp
Surprisingly good. As David N put it "simple comfort food." As Joe N. says "so many choices." It's kind of in between fast food and a restaurant. The upside is that you can spend less than $10 and leave content. The downside is that it feels like fast food, so you date will probably think you are a cheapskate. But I like when they think that... so it works for me.
