Botolino Gelato Artigianale

I stumbled across Botolino on Instagram after seeing a post that claimed it’s one of the best gelato spots in the US — and of course, I had to see if it lived up to the hype. Spoiler: it kind of does. I got the chocolate sorbetto and it’s easily the most intensely chocolaty gelato I’ve had — rich, smooth, and not overly sweet. I also sampled the lychee sorbet, and it was basically summer in a cup. Super fruity, super fresh. Their dessert cakes looked gorgeous, so I tried the coffee and the dark chocolate one. Unfortunately, they were served frozen solid. The flavors were good once they thawed a bit, but the texture and experience would’ve been so much better at the right temperature. Overall, the gelato’s definitely worth a visit. Just skip the frozen cakes unless you’re bringing them home.

I don't use the Lord's name in vain often, but omg, this place was phenomenal!!! This is elevated authentic gelato. Unique flavors and quality will have you coming back for more.

Nice spot for amazing Gelato! Upon arrival, I was greeted by enthusiastic employees and was able to sample the vanilla and berries and lavender. I ended up getting the vanilla and it was simply - amazing. I look forward to returning to try out other flavors!

First time visiting this location since I recently moved nearby. I always go for my staple flavors: pistachio and coconut! Got it to-go in a cute box. Delish and yummy.

Let me apologize in advance. I was super disappointed in this place. I'm not sure what the hype is about. "The Best Ice Cream in Dallas". I've heard so much about this place and decided to finally come check it out. The staff was kind, but the other guests were rude, and inconsiderate by taking chairs and leaving other tables with 1 chair. Very...entitled neighborhood. The famous mascarpone & and fig: Definitely mediocre. Nothing overly special... and I adore both figs and mascarpone. Gianduia: This flavor was really good. A rich creamy chocolate with subtle notes of hazelnut. A soft Nutella flavor if you will. This place just kind of overwhelms everything with super sugary toppings and unnecessary syrups. Stray away from the pineapple cake sundae. It's absolutely terrible. It's so sweet that it'll make your eyes water. The Texas Sweet Cream Cake was bearable once I removed all the blueberry mush from it. I spent 40 bucks and left all this behind. I wouldn't waste your time here.

I've visited Botolino Gelato Artigianale a few times, and it consistently impresses with its authentic and flavorful gelato. Every scoop I've tried has been rich, creamy, and full of flavor—clearly made with high-quality ingredients. The atmosphere inside is charming and inviting, with a cozy, modern interior that makes it a pleasant place to sit and enjoy your treat. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, always willing to offer samples and help you decide between their many tempting flavors. However, there are times when the shop can get quite busy, which means you might have to wait a bit longer to be served. My only minor gripe is the price. While the gelato is undoubtedly delicious, it can be a little on the expensive side for the portion size. Still, for the quality of what you’re getting, I believe it’s worth the splurge every now and then. Overall, Botolino Gelato Artigianale is a fantastic spot for a gelato fix. If you’re in the area and craving something sweet, it’s definitely worth a visit. 4 out of 5 stars!

I love this ice cream spot! It really is the best ice cream place in the Dallas area. So excited that they opened a location up north. The new one is just as great as the one in Greenville. The manager offered to give us our ice cream on the house because they were having trouble setting up apple pay. Honestly all the flavors here are awesome. I've tried a lot of the flavors and love every one of them. This time I had the lemon and rose which was awesome in the Texas heat. It's tart and fresh - an awesome choice for the summer.

I come here a lot it never disappoints. There's always a line but it moves super fast and that shows how popular it is. I always get the Figs one with the cone. Unique! Water fountain is available. Plenty of chairs and tables if you want to enjoy the weather. Parking is relatively easy.

Botolino always hits the spot! With convenient locations around town, it's an easy go-to when I'm craving something sweet. Their flavor selection is excellent, and I love that they offer multiple sizes--the kids/small size is perfect for satisfying a sweet tooth without overdoing it. It's my favorite spot for a post-dinner sweet or a casual date night treat. Highly recommend trying the PB&J and the salted caramel flavors!

Amazing spot in the Preston hollow area. We stopped by here for a school event for my daughter's new school. Much to our surprise this is a really cool hidden jump. The store was very clean and the staff was very warm and welcoming. And that's saying something since we had a room full of First graders and second graders. They were super accommodating and took great care of us. I particularly liked exploring all the high end cakes and desserts they had in addition to gelato. I recommend the spot if you're looking for a spot to satisfy your sweet tooth!

This is the cutest gelato shop. It's extremely clean and they do gelato the traditional way that I'm used to in Italy! They have them stored in the stainless steel containers with the stainless steel tops. They have such a nice variety of flavors and my family and I were able to taste a few before deciding on which ones we wanted. I wound up getting the marscarpone and figs with dulce de leche. My toddler went with coconut stracciatella. We both enjoyed our flavors as we ate them inside the shop. There was plenty of seating for us on this Sunday late afternoon. They have options to take fresh tubs of gelato home as well where you can choose the flavors. The ladies who helped us were very kind and they have a water station where you can help yourself to water. My family and I will definitely be back

Wow! Best gelato I've ever had honestly - there were so many unique and classic flavors to try that were delicious. The staff and service was amazing. Very cute inside will definitely be back to try more!!

Stopped by here after dinner, and was not disappointed. A gelato shop hates to see me coming, because I will always choose gelato over ice cream! It was consistently busy, and the servers were keeping up well. They allowed us to try various flavors and I settled on the salted caramel and white chocolate flavors . The sizing is quite big, which is great for sharing or tasting multiple flavors.

I've been told that ice cream is the one thing that will always put me in a good mood, and I've had my fair share over the years. Being Italian, I naturally gravitated toward this charming and aesthetic little shop with a name that sounded as Italian as it gets. The moment you walk in, it smells absolutely delicious and there is always a steady flow of customers. The ladies behind the counter were so friendly and engaging. They let me know I could try any flavor, which I loved. I went straight for my favorite--pistachio. Let me just say this is the best pistachio ice cream I have ever had. My previous favorite was from Amorino at Legacy West, but this one might take the crown. There are so many delicious flavors to choose from, plus espresso if you want a little nightcap. I highly recommend this one of a kind spot. You will not regret it.

Came in with a group of friends after dinner and the gelato tasted great. My review is really about the coffee affogato. I was not told that both affogatos contained alcohol. No indication was given on the menu and I was not told when I ordered it. The coffee was sour and bitter and when I brought it up to the staff they mentioned there was alcohol in it. When I explained I don't drink they just looked at me like I was crazy. I asked for something else but I felt like I did something wrong. Was a disappointing visit.

Probably one of the best ice cream spots Ive been to! Got to try a lot of flavors and each one was unique and creamy. Service was friendly. Space was clean.

Hello gelato! This is my first time at this location (I frequent the Greenville location). They are consistent with their flavors, prices and services. I had hazelnut (my usual) and my husband had the coconut which I loved! New favorite flavor alert!

Really great gelato! Enjoyed it and had seating. I got the salted caramel. They allow you to sample as many as you need which was really helpful!

Best Affocato in Dallas! #Chocolate Affocato! Can be very crowded at times but it is worth it!

The best gelato in Texas. Not cheap, but quality costs. On advice from my friends I ordered the child-size cone. It was a good call. Dulce Leche was incredible, though I'm sure all the flavors are magnificent.

Am I the only one who's not totally in love with this place? I sampled two flavors, hojicha and the salted caramel. The hojicha one, I will say, is true to its name. The salted caramel was just meh. I think it's the base, it's so rich that it drowns out the flavors and I wish they popped more. I ended up getting the red guava sorbetto, which was actually really good. The texture was super thick and luscious. In general, I would stay away from the ice creams and only stick to sorbets here. The ambiance is super nice and so are the people who work here.

I will always take gelato over ice cream and this place does not disappoint. Unique flavors and samples galore give you a chance to be perfectly satisfied with your final order. Another huge positive in my book is that the dairy free options are clearly labeled and there were surprisingly quite a few. They rotate flavors and I tried a bunch but landed on the coconut stracciatella and the lavender in a kids cup. Absolutely light and refreshing. The service is on top of it all and I'll note that I love when they keep busy and clean up here and there when they're not helping customers. Super cute place and can't wait to come back for more flavors!

Delicioso gelatos and sorbettos. Wonderful and patient counter service. After tasting a few of the new-to-me flavors, fun it was to find a harmonious pairing to my cup. This time, Botolino's "Salted Caramel" and "Chocolate Sorbetto" hit the spot. Very loud it was inside for it was packed this afternoon. Like me I'm sure, a welcoming reprieve from the over 100 degrees heat, happy to be there enjoying a lovely cooling treat! CHEERS!

Amazing gelato! Definitely service with a smile ! I could get full on just tasting everything such a great variety! We need the flavors were unusual, but everything had a lot of great flavors like food coming through the ice cream without being too sweet! Will definitely return when I come back to Atlanta! Great, on hot 107° day!

I had always wanted to try Botolino, but am not a fan of trying to find handicap accessible parking on lower Greenville... but now that they have a location on Preston at Royal, I've had the hubby stopping by to pick up various flavors in their adorable to go packs. I love the one with figs the most! This week, I was out with a friend and we decided to go there for a treat on a hot summer night. I'd been wanting to try their Affogato and it was everything I wanted it to be. Delicious coffee and a scoop of their vanilla. I may want to consider going earlier in the day because I was up until almost 4 am after that. My friend is blind and we had her guide dog with us and had zero problems with the staff. Once they realized I was reading the flavors for her, the young lady took over to tell her about the favors I didn't realize were also available and she helped her find flavors she would enjoy. The space is bright and airy and, while on the smallish side, they do have several outside seating options (for when the temps slip below hellfire).

I don't remember which flavor we got. I do recall it tastes good. The lines weren't too long and moved pretty fast. Service was friendly. Parking is horrible. We drove around several times before finding parking. I

Best gelato in Dallas. The store is very clean and well kept. They have 10+ flavor choices, and they even have perfectly made gelato cakes. Not sure if I would be able to eat the cake because it look so pretty! During last visit, my husband ordered a cup of espresso. It really went well with white coffee flavored gelato. We even made affogato on our own. lol Definitely a must in Dallas!

I'll start by saying very friendly staff & nice atmosphere!! The gelato was awesome & don't mistake the sorbetto as weak the chocolate was amazing. I typically have the vegan gelatos(Hazelnut is a must try). Only complaint is; two vegan choices that they rotate both delicious but I would love to see more options. My husband loves the chocolate/orange (plus a few others). It makes it worth the wait when your favorites aren't in rotation "frustrating" but in a good way ;-) Besides you can grab a large to-go if your favorite is in and you don't want to miss it. Overall great experience and continue to return again & again. Thank you for opening a ligit gelato parlor in my neighborhood!!

This is a great place to get some unique flavors. The service was great. I was able to sample quite a bit of flavors before I made my decision. I got 1 scoop each of their matcha and mascarpone fig gelato. Both flavors were not overly sweet, the gelato was creamy and delicious. One thing to keep in mind is that they rotate their flavors everyday.

The gelato here is a letdown. It's not creamy like the gelato in Italy or Spain. I was excited because it's in tins and not fluffed into mountains like the mass produced stuff but alas the flavors and quality were a letdown. We went on Saturday night and the place was fairly busy given its location but apart from the sorbetto (lime mint and passion fruit) we didn't care for the gelato here. Kid cup is 5.50$ and cone is another 1.50$.

The food is great it is so creamy and delicious it's so just so good. The service is good you just go to the counter and order. And the atmosphere is good there are just a lot of different cakes on display.

I took a food tour in Italy and they told me gelato should be kept in the tins like the ones they have here. They also said you should avoid places that stacks gelato like a mountain. I only get my gelato from here and I've been coming since their first location off lower Greenville. I always get white coffee so highly recommended. Also recommend the passion fruit sundae or the sticky toffee brownie sundae. So rich but so good! It's shareable for two

I'm pregnant and indecisive... I appreciated the patience the employee had with me and let me try whatever flavor I wanted too!! She was so very sweet: the decor inside is cute. And the flavors are mouth watering. I settled for a waffle cone with mango, key lime pie, and salted caramel!

This gelato shop was very nice, clean and the Hazelnut Gelato I ordered was good but there were two women working there today and one was slightly rude & short. She didn't seem very nice and it didn't seem like she was having a good day. So, while she gave me my sample, I asked her what her favorite flavor was and she said, "white coffee" very short and not friendly at all. I was trying to break the ice and make her feel more comfortable but that didn't work. So I just took the gelato that I asked for and paid. I can't stand when people in customer service roles are not kind. It's a turn off and it ultimately drives customers away. This place was very nice other than the treatment from that one employee. I wouldn't return over the treatment.

Amazing gelato and great service! I really enjoyed their brownie sundae and can tell the brownie is homemade. Would definitely recommend!

Probably the best Gelato I have had in comparison to the gelato I have eaten in Europe. It's definitely cheaper there but it's well worth the price. I got the Dulce leche brownie Sunday. It gave me everything I was looking for this evening. The establishment is very cute, has a European vibe with the decor. The workers were sweet and friendly. I loved it. This will be a regular for me.

This place is likely the best gelato in DFW. the texture and flavors available are absolutely delicious. The servers here are very friendly and knowledgeable about the flavors and will offer you samples. I sampled several and decided on the white coffee and pecan. I heard someone order the Stracciatella and white coffee and I actually considered going back for a scoop of that since it's probably an excellent combination. Needless to say, I'll be back especially when they open their location in bishop arts!

The gelato is very very good. We also tried a couple of their pastries which were also good, though the rose was a little overpowering in the pistachio pastry and they both were rock hard frozen (lol). Not sure if there is a way for them to normalize the temperature of the pastries but it is definitely worth trying and I will be going back. The restaurant itself was neat and has good amount of seating space. The staff was helpful as well.

Good Stuff. The medium came with 3 flavors and the large comes with 4 flavors. Their coffee is a must have, its amazing! Strong, flavorful and a hit for everyone I tried it with. The matcha was not powdery at all, if you like matcha, its another recommendation. Tiramisu was surprisingly pretty weak, did not have a good wow flavor bomb. It was extremely mild. Staff was not exactly friendly with helping us set things up to sample. But I asked them for 2 samples and everything turned out fine.

Botolino has been my current favorite ice cream spot. They have the perfect variety of flavors that includes your basic flavors as well as some more unique flavor. They also have some dairy free "sorbet", but it taste just like normal ice cream. I've tried their lavender berry and dark chocolate sorbet. The berry was a bit too berry-ish but the chocolate was so rich and creamy you could not tell it's not real dairy. I've also tried their brownie sundae with white coffee ice cream and it was delicious, but it does have walnuts incase anyone has allergies. Overall 10/10, will be back for more!!

I'm so glad there is another location closer up north! They have the BEST GELATO! Like forget about Pacuigo and Amorino... these guys know what's up! Tastes just like you're in Italy (yes, I've been so it's def legit)! I'm glad this place is more spacious so more seating for their guests. They are following CDC guidelines so not all the tables can be used. There is also seating outside. Fav flavors: White Coffee Mascarpone and fig Orange chocolate Also, the chocolate affogato is amazing!! Service is super friendly and quick at making custom orders. The place was kept nice and clean as well. I can't wait to come back!

This is a real Italian-styled gelatteria. The product is made by the gentleman behind the counter who lovingly serves it to you. Carlo Gattini, born in Tuscany, is a master Italian chef with a lineage as strong as the rich flavors made from the finest ingredients that he serves to us! I could weep at the gelato (White Coffee and Mascarpone and Figs!) to say nothing of the affogatos! Go to one of their locations. Now! Soon.

This place was voted best ice cream in Dallas a few times and I definitely believe it after trying it this past weekend! We got a kid sized gelato which allowed us to try 2 flavors and they definitely fill it up. The mango flavor was very refreshing and natural. The pistachio was deep and rich in flavor. Great fruity and nutty gelatos! I will definitely return if I'm ever back!

Absolutely the best Gelato in the metroplex!! Delicious and creamy and never disappointed with the flavors. The place is very bright and cute and provides a variety of unique rotating flavors and options. Just don't go on a Saturday night when the manager is there. It's like ordering ice cream from the soup nazi. No greeting, no expression. Other than that this place is the best!
