Food is incredible! And the Lemoncello Tiramisu is amazing! Light and delicious! Can’t wait to come back for some more! They have delicious sandwiches, perfect for summer time! I highly recommend this place!

First time here. I had the Ludo, house made marinated eggplant, mozzarella, tomato, arugula with oil and vinegar in a wrap. Yum! My husband ordered the Bologna with mozzarella, tomato, arugulas and oil and vinegar. Both were delicious. Service was excellent!

There's no words, but RUN! Those place was soo good I will definitely go back! Great service and a cute eating area.

Pure old school Italian charm. If you want a little taste of Italy right here in middletown, you're at the right place. Friendly family feel meets charming street Cafe Deli. Ordered catering for an engagement party and the food was absolutely fabulous! Every single guest raved about it. Everything is made fresh and from scratch, it is absolutely worth every penny. We had a chicken piccata tray, meatball, pasta with red sauce, sausage and broccoli rabbe pasta, and cannolis. The food was easy to warm up in the oven (although for me, it was a bit longer than the recommended 25-30 minutes and I suggest stirring the entries midway). I don’t typically write reviews but for catering Bottega Bocconi is an absolute MUST! They will be my go to place for any event. Thank you!

What a great Italian deli, they import their meats and they are delicious. I regularly get their single pizza slices and love the dough. They also have refrigerated and frozen options to take home for dinner. One of the few places to get a 'real' European coffee.

It's what you'd expect if you were in Italy. In culinary terms, the real deal for those who know what the real deal truly means. Similar to a "salumaria". The only "go to", one-stop Bottega you'll ever find on Acquidneck Island, Rhode Island. What joy!!!

What a gem! My friend and I ordered P&Gs for lunch and had two hearty meals from each. So amazing 🤩, generous portions, authentic Italian fare. I took another P&G and a Bologna back home to Upstate New York for my husband to enjoy. What a happy “Jersey Boy”. I was the first customer in the morning and the gal who served me was first rate 👏. Check out the prepared meals in the freezer too. Next trip I’ll bring a bigger cooler!

The food is outstanding in addition to being a great value!! We had two pasta dishes that were worthy of a fine restaurant. You can even get pizza crusts for a quick dinner.

I work near the base, so options for "clean" food is a bit scarce. I got tired of Marco's and their dense bread, so figured I'd give this a try. Was ok and I liked it. I had the Milano and the chicken was pretty tasty. Took me about 30 mins back and forth to work. Given the price, probably a once in a while thing.

Back again and will continue coming back as frequently as possible. The pizza, the sandwiches, the prepared meals, the Illy coffee, the service, everything.. it's all dynamite. Run don't walk, try this place, you won't regret it. Closed at 2pm Sundays and closed Mondays.

I love this place. I live up the street so how did I miss out on their gem. Beyond me. Sit outside with a glass of wine in summer and enjoy the great sandwich's, pizza and frozen Italian ice in an orange or lemon. And if you want to take the best eggplant parmigiana you have ever eaten,home, it's in The freezer. I now walk down the street and have it on standby in my freezer. I am half Italian and I know authentic when I taste it. Not easy to get the eggplant that tender and tasty. Great way to unwind and have some wine and charcuterie. Or pick up sandwiches for the beach or when on the way to Newport film on Thursday night. The owners are lovely and they are local. Support these people.

Very small little hole in the wall. Service was very friendly and causal and was perfect for lunch. The sandwich's were very good and the peach nectar was very satisfying. Would recommend stopping by for lunch if you're in the area

Fresh food, creative sandwiches but needs real bread, if the sandwiches were served with good Italian Bread this place would be five stars!

Charming store & restaurant! We stopped in to grab a quick breakfast and had an incredible pizza with delicious salami and cheese. The service was wonderful and quick. Very happy we came here!

Got a sandwich there and it was really good- the only thing was the menu had like 8 things and the place obviously had a lot more but there was no list or anything. High quality deli.

We had lunch and the food was very tasty and delicious. Everyone was very helpful and enthusiastic about the menu offerings. We will definitely stop here again when we are in the area.

Got the P&C sandwich for lunch. The place seemed packed but I guess everyone was waiting for their take out. So it's better to order in advance. The sandwich itself tasted pretty good. The bread was warm and toasted and all the ingredients in the sandwich tasted fresh. Overall I enjoyed my sandwich. Casual ambiance. Service was good. Not much parking outside.

The salad and the panini were so good, very Italian and very fresh. In fact, we love it so much that we went twice though we ordered something different the second time and they all did not disappoint.

This place was cute. We were craving something light for lunch. I'm a light eater but my husband is usually left hungry woth my usual Healthy choices. Lol. However, this was a great compromise. He ate a P&C and was satisfied. I had one of the veggie sandwiches and it was perfect!! We will be returning here and hopefully enjoying some wine as well. They had so many options!

Beautiful little Italian meats, cheeses, sandwiches and prepared foods. Authentic and tasty! You can eat there but the parking is horrible I'll walk and enjoy!

I ordered four of most popular sandwiches and they were so fresh and delicious! Cute little shop in Middletown with full of Italian food/ grab n go meals/ variety of desserts & Illy coffee! Can't wait to try the other sandwiches next time I come to this area.

What an amazing find! We just enjoyed two P&C sandwiches made with the most wonderful prosciutto, artichokes, mozzarella, tomatoes, arugula and oil & vinegar on a wonderful imported Italian flatbread! We had take home dinners last night. The food is divine! We've just moved to Portsmouth. This will be a regular stop every week!

We live up the street from this place. I started by getting a lasagna for my husband and his buddy on a day I didn't want to cook when I got home from work. It was a very authentic dish! On a walk to the beach a month later I asked my husband to pop in and get me a pastry and coffee. I had him try a bite of my apricot croissant and he's been calling everyday to see if they have any! It was that good. He also gets their coffee each time and doesn't need sugar because he says it's good coffee. He ordered the prosciutto sandwich and we've gotten it 4 times since, it's so large we share it - fresh and delicious! Half is perfect for me it's so filling.

Hidden gem! Well, sort of hidden... This place is really one-of-a-kind in this area. Take-and-heat soups and entrees, Meats and Cheeses and antipasto...espresso beverages, and made-to-order options too! Oh, they also have amazing looking fresh made pasta, sweets, and lots of imported nonperishables and drinks. I grabbed a P&C sandwich, which was this amazing 'Italian taco' with fresh mozzarella, greens, tomato, prosciutto...oil and vinegar. It was spectacular. I tried a hot latte, which was fabulous, and for takeaway I got a block of imported Fontina cheese. Friendly service made it the perfect experience. Plenty of parking in the rear of the building too!

I cannot even begin to tell all how amazing this deli is. I have been a steady patron now for several months and i could not be happier with the fresh ingrediants that i have found here. My hubby is Italian and I am Irish so i have a lot to prove but Victorio has guided me expertly in creating the most fabilous Italian dishes. I could not be mote pleased to have a local Italian deli to guide me thru the process of making the most amazing Italian dishes. I have alot to prove and my most recent creation was a huge hit thanks to the guidance of Victorrio. He is so helpful and always gives me the best culinary advice. My most recent eggplant parmissian was a huge hit and i did not even have any left overs. His sauce is fabulous and the fresh Mosserella was to die for. I come here once a week and always find something new to create the most fabulous Italian dishes. I can not thank him enough for his expert advice and the most amazing imported ingrediants. Oh and the pizza dough is spectacular! I just throw my stuff on and bake it and everyone is in awe! But Victorrio gets all the credit really. Thank you from a little Irish girl trying to impress my Italian inlaws! I could not be happier with the dishes i am able to create thanks to the real deal Italian master!

What a gem! We got fresh baked bread flown from Italy which was delicious, the chicken salad was amazing, and the meatball and manicotti was also great. My coffee was very delicious as well. Love Illy coffee. Wish I had one of these by our home. It's a must go if in the area. I imagine everything else is fresh and great as well. You can tell they love what they do.

It was my first time today. I heard about it through a friend and being I had no time to prepare dinner, I thought I would try it out. I bought a big meat lasagna and a few other Italian delicacies. The lasagna was truly outstanding. Great flavor. You could tell it was prepared with care. My family had seconds and we still had 1/3 of it left which will fuel some lunches. I would definitely try this place out for a true Italian experience

DO NOT BOTHER. This place claims they are an Italian deli, but as a native New Yorker this couldn't be further from a traditional Italian deli. To start, you cannot order anything unless it's on the pre-set menu. For example, I wanted to include prosciutto AND ham on my sandwich; the cashier would not allow it saying that they don't combine meats due to the imported quality of the meats. Being from NY I have NEVER heard of anything like this. They do not allow substitutions or changes of any kind. This is quite possibly the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Lastly, these sandwiches are put on glorified tortillas, not Italian bread. This is a sad excuse of an Italian deli, do NOT WASTE your money.

Vacationing in Newport. Stopped by to order lunch with the family and loved it. Went back the next day. Great Italian deli. Fresh deli meats and prepared pasta salads. Also had arancini that we're very good. The pizza looked great but we didn't try. The pepper stuffed with cacioricotta were fantastic.

Sitting outside in their bistro chairs eating our sandwiches was a divine way to spend an afternoon before heading back for a beach walk. Great illy coffee, hot and running barista machine (taste approved by European husband), cute shop, easy and straight forward with delicious sandwiches (thin prosciutto yummm) and amazing bread loaves with semolina (flour from Italy). We devoured the loaf when we got home ;) Definitely want to go back to try some of their other baked goods, prepared sauces and things in fridge for easy dinner option!

A hidden gem and the closest authentic Italian deli/grocer to downtown Newport. The piadines are amazing, I've had them all and the only one I didn't like was the Torino which was too salty for me. The Genova and Verdure are amazing options if you want to skip the meat. You also have to get some of their arugula pesto to go - it's amazing. However, the lasagnas are really salty. If you grab one of the little tables outside and ask for a Spritz, they'll bring you a perfectly mixed Aperol spritz with a super fresh blood orange slice. The location is in a difficult spot to get to (parking is tough during the season, very busy road) so best to walk/ride your bike here. It would be awesome if they could put up a high fence of some kind out front of the tables to block the view of the busy road.

Amazingly authentic little cafe/deli! We were surprised to find this little slice of Italy in Newport. The Piadine sandwiches are amazing! The staff are also very nice and hospitable. Definitely stop by for a quick bite or grab things for a beach picnic.

This little Italian café has incredible sandwiches, homemade pastries, and coffee! We are so happy we found this lunch spot while visiting Newport - we are already craving another P&C sandwich on their homemade flat bread ! Super friendly service and quality Italian ingredients - can't wait to return!

Well folks, this small authentic store has found its way to my heart through my stomach. The "staff" that feels like family seems to go above and beyond everyday providing you with the freshest ingredients that are sure to put a smile on your face. From the good mornings heard upon entering the store to the smell of freshly roasted coffee, this is a must stop shop whenever you find yourself in the area. I have become somewhat of a regular and can tell you that if you haven't tried the apricot croissants or the crowd pleasing favorite P&C sandwich your missing something special.

Absolutely fantastic. We got 2 different veggie sandwiches that were delicious. Very quick service and reasonably priced w/ a convenient small outdoor seating area on the sidewalk.

Excellent sandwich. Reminded me of one from Tuscany. It was so good I had to go back the next day on the way out of town for a road sandwich.

Not for nothing but if I go into an Italian Deli and get told I can ONLY order exactly what's on the menu because it's imported and mind you I just wanted an Italian combo this place needs a hard reset. Found this spot randomly on Yelp as we were staying here for vacation. We have already gone twice today, the sandwiches are amazing and the takeout food for dinner is super easy to heat up and delicious, prices are appropriate, and the staff is great. Try the prosciutto!

We ordered 3 different sandwiches and each one was delicious. You can tell whoever made them takes pride in their work. Everything was fresh and flavorful and we really enjoyed the flatbread that it came on.

This place is a true Italian gem and it is as close to true Italian cafe you can get around here. The sandwiches are to die for and coffee is amazing! There are lots of prepared meals(vegetable or meat lasagna) in the fridge you can heat up at home and also stuffed peppers, meats, marinated artichokes you can order to go. I wish this place was open at 6 am for an early coffee/pastry to go! I'd come all the time!

Came here for the first time and was disappointed to find there were not many breakfast options. However, the P & C sandwich was very good but I felt like the majority of the sandwich was just arugula. The prosciutto was amazing though. I would definitely come back again for lunch next time.

Found this little gem on East Main Rd. Portsmouth. Very authentic italian! Saw soups my Nonna used to make(!) and other prepared options such as eggplant parm and lasagna. The focaccia looked amazing! You can tell it's a hot spot as they needed to restock some of the prepared items. Went home with their homemade pasta and a loaf of panettone as a gift. My niece ordered a cappuccino and said it was amazing. Will be a return customer!

Off the radar small place with fantastic sandwiches. Will definitely be back to try them all.
