"A staple of Brookline Village, this Italian gem is both a deli and restaurant where you can choose from over a dozen sauces to complete your pasta bowl. There’s rustic detailing throughout its cozy space, and — when weather permits — a charming outside patio that matches the classic decor." - Erika Adams, C. Shardae Jobson

Came in the city for business, a friend treated me out to this spot. Quaint and intimate, the comedy and engagement of the owners makes for a kind and cheerful experience. They checked in on us to make sure us and the customers were having a good time plus cracked the best jokes. The Pasta Alla Peche was divine. I hsve frequented Italian restaurants my whole life but this hit my taste buds in a different way. The crabmeat with the shrimp and slight spiciness to the sauce set it off with a homemade twang. Would definitely come here again!

Lovely place I went to on a date. We wanted to go somewhere with Italian food and this place was great. We both loved the caesar salad with chicken and the tomatoes on the bruschetta were AMAZING. tbh anything with tomatoes were really good and the basil was super fresh!!! nice portions for the pasta and the water was also delicious. Slightly pricier than expected but its worth it (as a college student). The place is a bit small with limited seating but the atmosphere is very cozy. The staff were also nice. I knocked over a cup of water on the way out but there was no one around for me to tell. Very sorry.

Google
Good Italian restaurant, food was delicious, prices were fair and nice server. It’s a cozy place but not spacious and if you’re more than 4, don’t expect enough spaces! We ordered Catalina shrimp pasta, pesto Alfredo, and chicken Parmesan sub.

I came here with family on a Thursday evening -- we were able to get a reservation for 7 people day of. The restaurant has limited seating and was completely filled when we were there. It has a very cozy homey atmosphere, and there were a number of people coming in to get takeout. I got to try a variety of dishes, and overall I would say that their shrimp is really good -- plump and tender -- and their flavors are generally good. I thought most of the pasta was a bit overcooked for my tastes, but it didn't detract too much from the experience. If I came back, I would definitely get something with shrimp. My favorite sauce that I tried was the white wine garlic butter with a touch of tomato sauce (found in the Linguini Scallops, Clams, Shrimps). If I could get that sauce with just shrimp, that would be great. They also have a build your own pasta option, so maybe I'd try a pesto shrimp combo next time. For appetizers, I thought the Prosciutto di Parma ($16.00) antipasti was quite good -- good balance of flavors and textures. The fried calamari ($12.00) did not look very glamorous (looked store-bought), but tasted fine. I didn't like the grilled pear salad ($13.50) -- it didn't taste grilled at all, and the flavors didn't work well together for me. The risotto frutti di mare ($19.00) had good flavor but the rice texture wasn't that great (a bit mushy). The tiramisu was pretty good, but not my favorite. Overall I would recommend the prosciutto di parma, anything with shrimp, and anything with white wine garlic butter sauce.

Everything was great. They are very friendly and kind. The food was authentic and very delicious. Tiramisu was heavenly.

Charming restaurant with friendly staff. We enjoyed our saucey pasta dishes.

This is such a little gem in a random neighborhood that serves actually delicious Italian. You will notice that they are always busy there, which is a good sign. The friday special: Parmigiana Di Melanzane, is probably one of the best eggplant dish I've ever had. Crispy skin, with very tender fresh and yet the layers stick together, with smoky mildly sweet and slightly bitter taste that somehow just worked. This eggplant is not a dish you can make on the spot. Probably it was slow cooked and prepared over a long time to get all those elements together. The service was excellent, charming older guys taking your order and very knowledgeable about the menu. The prices are extremely reasonable, in fact I think they're undercharging. The place itself is small and somewhat cramped, which is a double edged sword. On one hand it gives you that rustic mom-and-pop old school Italian restaurant feel, on the other hand... Well it's cramped. And can be difficult to get a table during peak hours. There is a pay-parking lot a couple of blocks away for those who drive.

Google
Bottega di Capri was well worth the price. I got the pesto Alfredo and the sauce was creamy and portion sizes were plentiful. My friend got spaghetti and meatballs and the meatballs had an authentic flavor and weren’t just mystery meat blended together. Especially for the price I feel like u can’t beat that for pasta. Overall great spot to just hang out and amazing service to come with it!

Yelp
Nestled in charming Brookline Village, Bottega di Capri exudes a delightful sunny and cozy ambiance that instantly transports you to Italy. I recently stopped by for lunch and was pleasantly greeted by their friendly staff. Despite a bit of a wait (understandable since they hand-cut their meats), the payoff was worth it. I opted for their Italian sandwich, and WOW, was it good! Packed with authentic flavors and generous portions, it's clear they prioritize quality. The price was fair for the size and taste you get--definitely a good value. I'm already planning my return for dinner to explore more of their menu. If you appreciate genuine Italian cuisine served in a warm atmosphere, Bottega di Capri won't disappoint!

Yelp
This a cozy, family-run restaurant that has really great Italian food. I've only had the pastas but they're reasonably priced and the portions are very manageable: not too much but I always finish all my food totally satisfied! They also have beautiful tiramisu. The waiter is so friendly, too. I would highly recommend the Lobster ravioli with scampi sauce! I get it every time

Amelia M.

Yelp
We ordered angel hair & shrimp and this was a mistake. The pasta was in a pool of oil and the bread was stale. We suspect the great reviews are based on the sandwiches.

Tulsa H.

Yelp
Small Italian restaurant with delicious food and great service. Highly recommended! Ravioli is great. Would definitely come back again.

Joy G.

Yelp
One of the rare instances in which the service elevates the food. Judging only the dishes we got, I'd rank Bottega di Capri as closer to 3 stars but our waiter was so kind and grandfatherly and came by often with water refills/to see how we were doing. I can see why this place is popular in the neighborhood. Good for families, but if you're a large group, come here early. The space is small and they don't take reservations. By far the best things we ordered were the pastas - the seafood risotto and the linguine with scallops, clams, and shrimp. The risotto was fluffy and creamy and permeated with the briny seafood. Presentation was a little slapdash but the taste was undeniable. Overall, the prices were insanely affordable, almost pre-inflation levels - our seafood pastas were each less than $20. I wouldn't recommend the Caesar salad. Though the salad had wonderful, thick shavings of Parmesan, the dressing tasted store-bought. The house bread was also on the stale side. Don't skip the tiramisu. Not sure if they make it in house but it was one of the better iterations of the dessert I've had. Parking: Street options in front of the restaurant and a municipal lot one street over.

Christian M.

Yelp
Local Italian restaurant that was surprisingly good for not being in north end. Service was fast and friendly. Space was a little bit cramped but nothing unreasonable. Would come back for their tasty seafood pastas

Lucreiza B.

Yelp
It a very small restaurant located in the heart of brookline village. When you walk into the restaurant you feel like your in grandmother kitchen few tables nothing fancy. The owner of the place comes out to greet you and give you. Menu showing the daily offering of pasta during the week and sandwiches. I recommend the Italian sandwich, the meat is cut fresh in front of you and offer you choice put on bulk or focaccia roll. The price of sandwich is 9.99 which is not bad these days.

Marcelle N.

Yelp
Very cute place. Small and cozy with wooden tables and chairs. It was pretty full but the seated our party of six very quickly ( 6:45 pm). YouGenerous slices of bread: crunchy crust and soft inside.lots of choices on the menu. The fried zucchini appetizer came with a nice green salad. Zucchini was crunchy. Generous servings.i got the ravioli with cheese and with mushrooms. I liked the mushrooms the best. You can choose from a long list if sauces. I chose Alfredo pesto. Very good.- italiano sandwich was fresh. Server was friendly and helpful.

Victoria C.

Yelp
A small neighborhood restaurant on Harvard Street next to a few shops. I came here on a Wednesday night for dinner and by 6pm the place was fully packed. The servers were really kind and didn't rush us to order while we waited for our whole party to come. I ordered spaghetti in cream sauce with chicken, bacon, peas, and arugula. I thoroughly enjoyed my pasta and finished it all. The pasta was cooked al dente and the peas still had a small crunch to them. The serving portion is just enough to feel full, but not stuffed. For dessert, we shared a piece of chocolate cake, which was standard. The frosting was sweet and had a good chocolate flavor to it. They have different daily specials and I am hoping to come back to try the lasagna one day.

Bekah M.

Yelp
Service was so beyond attentive, I would recommend it with that fact alone! We enjoyed the bruschetta, two pieces was large enough to split between two people. Then a cold Italian sub and Caprese sub. Delicious. All around an incredible hole in the wall that I would love to return to some day. Small, limited tables, but you are served here, not cafe order up front style

Kevin K.

Yelp
Cutest little Italian restaurant. Not a lot of seating, but we got there late on a Thursday night and were sat right away. Fresh bread and butter as soon as we sat down really hit the spot. I got penne with bolognese sauce and shrimp. The sauce was obviously homemade and so good. Others at our table got tortellini bolognese and penne with meatballs in a spicy marinara sauce. Food came out quick. Service was great and efficient. Everybody left full and happy!

Patty G.

Yelp
I love this it is so delicious, friendly and charming. Have been here several times and it never disappoints. I am going again for sure!!!

Kaylyn Z.

Yelp
There is street parking available in front of this restaurant. I have nothing bad to say about this place. The staff is absolutely wondering and best service I've had in a long time. The restaurant itself is small and has limited seating. I recommend getting there early, if possible. They do not take reservations, but they move quickly. The food is beyond amazing. I haven't had a better pasta experience than this right here. The portions are large, the taste is complex, and the prices are affordable. I came back many times while traveling in boston just to eat here.

Alan C.

Yelp
I had a high hopes for the store. I really thought they would provide superior Italian food and subs. I ordered the chicken Parmesan and the meatball I switch with my friend. She has half meatball half chicken palm and I do as well. The bread was just OK for the roll. Nothing special, the chicken palm was OK but not next level. It was actually average at best not as good as big daddies or rock city not even close now to the meatball sub. It was terrible edible the meatballs had a really funny taste. I don't know if it was a one time thing I can't believe they would make meatballs the tasting like thatBut neither myself and my friend eat the meatball sub. She tossed hers in the trash, followed by mine. The store looks great inside like an old Italian shop and maybe subs aren't their specialty and I should try the pasta but after this example of below mediocre food I'm disinclined to try it again.

Nicole L.

Yelp
Got takeout from here- solid Italian food. I had a very good roasted pear salad with mixed greens, balsamic glaze, walnuts, cranberries and blue cheese. The cheese tortellini with pesto was also good (vegetarian), and my husband liked the lobster ravioli & assorted meats antipasti.

Christine M.

Yelp
The inside of the restaurant wasn't anything jaw dropping was inviting. It wasn't overdone, in fact, it hadn't been 'done' in sometime, it had lots of character. In front is where the deli part of this restaurant takes care of that part of the business. I ate a piece of chocolate cake while my "small" pollo sandwich was as being made. It was a tad bit dry by delicious nonetheless. When I saw the sandwich I thought there had been some sort of mistake because it was so big. The gentleman in the front who rang me out told me that's how the italians do it. Definitely gave me a chuckle. I'd have to say this sandwich was so simple yet so tasty and it was my first time, in years, that I had finished a sandwich that i've ordered out, in one sitting. It had the perfect ratio of all ingredients. It had the perfect moisture and dryness (not really but the bread didn't have much moisture at all) which balanced this sandwich in the best way possible. I would definitely go back and want to go back to try their other dishes. Though they were nice when I arrived, i'm giving a 4 star is because I called in my order for take out and the person taking my order was very rude, didn't understand me and so they hung up on me.

Juhye K.

Yelp
Such a lovely, homey little Italian gem in Brookline! Stumbled across this restaurant in search for dinner and ended up having the loveliest meal. They always start with bread and butter (cold, not the best part of the meal but great for later scooping up the sauce!) For our entrees we had the pasta amalfitana which was a delicious creamy pasta with chicken, prosciutto, spinach and roasted peppers. The chicken was beautifully seasoned and cooked and the dish overall was rich and hearty. We also had the linguine frutti di mare which was light, well seasoned, and overall very enjoyable with shrimp, scallops and mussels. For dessert (not pictured) we had an amazing slice of tiramisu! Overall: a lovely local spot for some home style italian eats in a family friendly location

Sean C.

Yelp
Italian restaurant with a great and extensive menu. Very small place so seating is limited but gives a very intimate feel. The servers are authentic, efficient and informative.

Emma M.

Yelp
I ordered a chicken Parmesan and the chicken was so dry over cooked, bread was soggy. I will never order it again. Maybe there's something else on the menu that is good and I should try!

Annie C.

Yelp
I guess it's true. After living in Philly and having amazing Italian everywhere at my fingertips, this is the highest rating I can give. The seafood portion of my dinner was worth 4 stars with perfectly cooked and seasoned scallops and shrimp but the pasta was overcooked, not al dente. I don't mind that they don't make their own pasta - but it should at least be the right texture. It deserves another star for really excellent tiramisu that is generously portioned. Size: 4 Texture:3 Taste:4 not too salty with a good balance of umami Dessert quality 4+/5 Dessert value 5 Sadly the texture trumped everything for me.

Emma C.

Yelp
amazing little place with really yummy pasta. I got the fettuccine with vodka sauce and my boyfriend got a meatball sub. both were very yummy!! would definitely order again

Paul P.

Yelp
Don't understand how other reviews can say this is the "best Italian food in the US" or "I felt like I was in Rome" when THEY DON'T MAKE THEIR OWN PASTA and their table bread is substandard Bottega is Italian for "shop" and they call themselves an Italian Deli - which is what they are. They are not a Ristorante, Trattoria, or Osteria This family run "deli" probably has great sandwiches and their sauces are extensive, Homemade and fresh. Portion size and pricing are decent But if you grew up with a "Nonna", I would stay away from the filled pasta (pre-made and frozen), and get plain pasta with your favorite sauce - my puttanesca was on point They try hard, but are a bit understaffed 3.5 is the correct rating

Nishat K.

Yelp
Such a cute little spot with great pasta. My friend and I went for lunch on a friday afternoon and seating was available. It's a small space with about 5-7 tables. We were greeted promptly and told to take menus and pick a seat. It's a casual place and prices are good. Many pasta options and the ability to "build your own." I got one of their cream based sauces and the plate of pasta I received was huge but I ate the entire thing. They have water, some sanpellegrino, and not much else for drinks but really a cute fast casual pasta place which is exactly what I crave often.

Cassandra W.

Yelp
The easiest 5 stars I've ever given. I'm from New York City and always have to dine here whenever I visit friends in Boston. Their menu does not miss, ever. You can literally order anything on the menu and have a good time. I wish I could gatekeep this place all to myself. Highly recommend the pesto rossa sauce and raffaello sauce. The portion sizes are perfect and at prices that are more than reasonable. Staff are always so friendly and accommodating - even on busy weekend dinner nights, they make sure to check in on everyone dining there. This review doesn't even really do Bottega di Capri justice tbh *chef's kiss*

Daily T.

Yelp
the absolute best food and customer service I have experienced. They treat you like beloved family. The Lasagna they serve on Tuesday and Friday is my favorite The meatbaLLCs are the best I have ever had wheather as a sub or with pasta or even alone with red sauce. I eat there twice a week every week. Come join me and enjoy this food !

Jason P.

Yelp
Casual, homey joint with limited first come, first seating. Went in on a Saturday night and it was packed. We were greeted by a friendly but gruff host. As I made the assumption that all Italian restaurants served wine, I was quickly but gently rebuked when asking for the wine menu being told they only serve "healthy drinks" (non-alcoholic). I found our server's attitude quite endearing, but the food was even more so. For dinner, we had the assorted meats, risotto fruti di mare, and lobster ravioli. Just based off the taste alone, the meal was great. The plating could use work but the food was comfortable, cozy, and delicious. The lobster ravioli was creamy and the slightly spiced sauce worked well with the lobster meat. The frutti was tasty - soft risotto with seafood seasoned well. The meats - typical Italian charcuterie spread - was served at a good room temperature alongside some lovely mozzarella. For the quality of ingredients and taste, it was quite affordable and great value - rare in Boston. A comforting environment with reasonably priced delicious food, friendly hosts, and great menu - if you want a break from the typical North End Italian restaurant, this is a place worth visiting.

Kay M.

Yelp
Great food, great menu and fast service. The place is comfortable and inviting. I like the raviolis and meatballs.

Ericka M.

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic food and service! My husband and I walk here from our hotel and they immediately took care of us so we could relax and rest! Thank you for the great food and service.

Robin R.

Yelp
Found this gem while looking for a good restaurant to eat in the area. So glad we picked this place. We ordered the meat platter. They actually slice it fresh right there so you can see! All of our meals were amazing. This was truly a perfect place to visit.

Kai L.

Yelp
Overall: 8.75/10 Taste: 8/10 - Pasta was decent. The shrimp was well cooked and the noodles still had a good chew. The sauce was a bit heavy. The sandwich was quite basic but filled with meat and toppings. Price: 10/10 - Everything here is priced amazingly. The sandwich was a better deal than a foot long at subway. Service: 9/10 - The server was friendly and seemed like the owner. Ambiance: 8/10 - It is a very small restaurant and be expected to be seated with other parties.

Lisa G.

Yelp
Maybe our experience was on a bad night. Both items I preferred were not available. I got a spaghetti with shrimp scallops and clams. Served on an 8 inch plate' the sauce was watery, pasta overcooked and I'm pretty sure the seafood was frozen. I saw no evidence of clams. My partner ordered a risotto with seafood which had the same kind of seafood but did include two giant mussels which were poorly shucked. Everything was under seasoned. A side of calamari was very crisp but had no tentacles and not a bit of calamari flavor. Nice people though.

Dorothy C.

Yelp
The Good: - Linguine Scallop Clams Shrimp (LSCS) is excellent, the sauce in particular, is amazing - one of 2 things, we will always order. - Tiramisu - very tasty, the other thing we will always order. - The sauce of the Chicken Broccoli Ziti (CBZ) - actually, everything is good about it, the sauce, the pasta, the chicken - just too few pieces of broccoli - only 3 very tiny sprigs. The Meh: - the amount of broccoli in the Chicken Broccoli Ziti (too few) - the Chicken Marsala (only available on Wednesdays) was very disappointing, just tasted like Marsala wine, no mouthfeel, no touch of cream... The sauce was watery and didn't cling to the pasta at all. It was mostly a soup at the bottom of the bag. Hardly eaten by anyone - just lacking in flavor. Leftovers untouched. Maybe it was an off-night? - Farfalle Raffaello - the amount of pasta was low, but we were quite underwhelmed by the flavor, and no one has touched the leftovers... Ok, the prices were reasonable. The amount of food was just ok (not overly generous). Would return again for the LSCS, tiramisu, and alfredo sauce (on the CBZ). Wish there was some way to get that amazing LSCS sauce on pasta alone... Really, just avoid the Marsala and the straight pasta+sauce options (get one of the pre-set pasta-dishes), and you should be set.

Joanne M.

Yelp
Friendly little neighborhood Italian place. Not fancy, just your basic family Italian restaurant. They give you bread and butter which is not the greatest and the butter is cold . I had lobster ravioli with shrimp which was good . Sister had chicken parmigiana which was good . Prices are very reasonable, no wine or beer so byob if you want .

Melodie S.

Yelp
Bottega di Capri is fantastic! The pastas are all freshly made with terrific special options with cream and tomato sauces. I had pasta da Vinci, my husband had the pesto. The kids went traditional with the familiar spaghetti and meatballs and ravioli. Every dish was wonderful and freshly prepared by the owner/chef. I highly recommend Bottega! Great atmosphere and food served fresh by the owner! Authentic and affordable!

Paige L.

Yelp
What a delightful place! My husband and I enjoyed the extremely friendly/welcoming service, the authentic Italian food, and the cozy atmosphere. We sat indoors and our server had clearly been there a long time and was so warm and enthusiastic. We ordered the bruschetta (wouldn't order again- the bread was like sandwich bread), arugula salad, fettuccini di carlo (yum), and chicken parm (SUPER yum!). Where this place really shines is service and Italian entrees. We will definitely be back! Know before you go: they don't serve alcoholic beverages.

Peter K.

Yelp
This place is the real deal, never saw it coming, from the outside it looks ok, but it is a diamond in the rough. I never imagined to have eggplant Parmesan like Italy/Greece in the states. It was just incredible, an absolute 10, I wish I could vote higher on the quality of the food. We also had the chicken Parmesan and a mozzarella panini, those were good as well. The store is small, the service is excellent old school food that you can only get at your mom's house. Just amazing, wish it was closer as I would go there every day of the week.

Andy J.

Yelp
Great portion and also me taste! Place is small but food is on point. Plate was licked clean. No beer.

John C.

Yelp
Wonderful and friendly service with 4 adults and 3 kids. Great food too and came out pretty quickly.

Kirsten J.

Yelp
Absolutely the cutest little authentic Italian restaurant. We ordered a variety of pastas and sandwiches for our party of 8, all were perfect. Everyone working seemed happy and invested in our enjoyment of our meal.

Taylor J.

Yelp
Everything was fantastic! For a small little Italian shop this absolutely filled our need for some good pasta. The customer service was fabulous and every person working there was just so sweet. Thank you for a great experience!

Winston L.

Yelp
Amazing homestyle Italian restaurant with a cozy atmosphere and very friendly dining staff. My angel hair pasta was cooked perfectly and the portion was generous. The restaurant reminded me of the some of the places I went to in Italy. I highly recommend Bottega di Capri!

Carrie K.

Yelp
Wow!!! I travel a lot and this was the neatest finds I've found in a long time!! The restaurant is so intimate and beautiful. The Italian food was delicious!!!! And it was very reasonably priced. We had the spaghetti meatballs, tortellini, and meat ravioli. Finally, the manager/server was first class!! You could tell his passion is serving his customers. He was so friendly and kind. Absolutely the best Italian place I've had in a long time. Very neat local place.

Ariella E.

Yelp
Do not order from here if you have any dietary restrictions or allergies. I placed an order for a sandwich and noted just in case that I have a tomato allergy. I was pretty taken aback when I received a phone call from the manager shortly after placing my order. He left me a message berating me for noting an allergy and told me to "never order during lunch rush again". I guess my one-ingredient allergy was too much of an imposition for them to accommodate. On top of that, when my sandwich did finally arrive, it was just a piece of very mediocre bread with prosciutto on it. Nothing else. When I called the restaurant to ask why there was no mozzarella or roasted red peppers on the sandwich, they said they decided to exclude the peppers because they look like tomatoes. LOL what? It's a totally different food, and still doesn't explain the lack of other listed ingredients. Literally shocked they felt it was appropriate to charge me $15 and then not even make me an actual sandwich as requested, let alone the horrific service practice of calling a customer to tell them when they can or cannot order lunch? Insane. Will not be ordering from here ever again.

Kelvin ..

Yelp
Delicious and affordable pasta. Many pasta options and the choice the make your own. The restaurant itself had limited seating, but was cozy. Make a reservation just to be safe.

Susie D.

Yelp
The highlight of this spot is not the location (although it's right by the beautiful St. Mary's church and among a row of stores and restaurants) nor is the food (although yummy) - it's the service, the people who run the restaurant. You feel welcomed from the moment you enter and are treated with so much love and care. As for food, there's a lot of options that are good, ranging from pastas to sandwiches and it's relatively affordable for the city.

Anna M.

Yelp
Came here for some delicious Italian food and I was glad we did! We got the bruschetta as an appetizer and that's a must get ! The flavors are so good together and it was the perfect portion! I especially liked the bread part because it was well seasoned! I then got the chicken parmigiana and it was great with the pasta! Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside! I would come here earlier because some of the dishes we wanted to order was already sold out. I really wanted the calamari, zucchini, and lasagna but they didn't have it anymore unfortunately. Small space inside for seating which made it cozy. I'd come back here again!

Coco L.

Yelp
DELICIOUS pasta and AMAZING service!! 100% recommend- owner is wonderful. Such a great small spot!!

Danna D.

Yelp
New fav Italian spot! Some of the best vodka sauce I've ever had. And the service was great. Such charming vibes. My whole table cleared our plates. Delicious. So many options and with great portions and very reasonable pricing!!

Kristy C.

Yelp
Very authentic Italian restaurant. Truly homemade Italian food...reminds me of one of local restaurants in Italy. Friendly price with very welcoming service. Highly recommend!
