Five Gelato Scoops to Try This Weekend | Eater Denver

"As the Denver sister spot to Boulder’s Fior di Latte that recently opened in Zeppelin Station, I found the gelato to be very creamy with flavors like mascarpone orange blossom, vanilla lavender, and vegan midnight chocolate; the vegan flavors are just as rich and creamy as the dairy ones." - Lucy Beaugard

I visited Bottega Gelato while walking around Pike Place. The shop is really small and a bit crowded, but it has a cute vibe. The staff were friendly and let me try a couple flavors before choosing, which I appreciated. I ended up getting the pistachio and chocolate. The texture was smooth and creamy, but the flavor didn’t blow me away. The pistachio was decent, but not as rich as I expected. The chocolate was good, but a bit too sweet for my taste. Prices are on the higher side — I paid about $7.50 for two small scoops. For the price, I was hoping for something a little more special. It’s not bad gelato, just not memorable.

The best ice cream I have ever eaten. I ordered peach and pistachios. The peach one is made with real peach, you can see the peach skin. The pistachio flavor is very oily, and you can feel that a lot of pistachios are added. I also like the waffle cone, crispy and crunchy.

- lemon basil gelato! - Several years ago, my mom got a pear gelato here since I had a groupon when she came to visit me. She has been talking about the gelato for years. My mom usually doesn't get to eat gelato, but she's not easy to please either. We stopped by here last week, and I was surprised to find many people in line. There wasn't much business back then, but the business is definitely good now with all the tourists visiting them. I've tried the flavors of mango, raspberry, pear, pineapple, and lemon basil. To my surprise, the pear tasted relatively artificial compared to other flavors. I picked lemon basil and pineapple for my two scoops instead. The lemon basil was unique; I enjoyed it way more than the pineapple flavor. I even tried to create something similar at home with basil, lemon, condensed milk, milk, and ice. I didn't have heavy cream at home, so I just did what I could. I rarely get any dessert with lemon or lime since it takes a TON of sugar to make them sweet, but this is one exception. The price here wasn't that good, and it's pretty much tourist price ($7.5 for 2 small scoops).. But if you are a tourist, I think that makes sense lol. I'll come back to try other flavors!

We stopped by Bottega Gelato in downtown Seattle and were really impressed! We tried the pear and tiramisu gelato—both were super tasty. I especially loved the pear gelato. It had a light, natural flavor and wasn’t too sweet, which made it really refreshing and enjoyable. The tiramisu was a bit sweeter than I usually prefer, but it was still rich, creamy, and delicious. Great flavors, quality ingredients, and a nice spot to grab a treat while exploring the city. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!

This place has the most amazing gelato anywhere. Had a hard time picking flavors, but all of them were amazingly delicious in their own way. Everything was very fresh. This place is not to be missed.

Great gelato and very unique flavors. We've all had pistachio ice cream but this pistachio had no artificial colors and actually tasted like pistachios! The other flavor is got was raspberry dragonfruit which had plenty of real fruit and excellent flavor. Both were very flavorful without being overly sweet like most ice creams. It was much better than average.
