Very nice family Italian cafe. As a non-local this place was a sweet surprise! I’m so glad we went here. The bread on the dishes was delicious and the sandwiches were nicely balanced with plenty of flavor. Very generous portion sizes. Definitely coming back here.(sorry for bad photos we were in a rush) Edit: we came back and the pastries were amazing! We accidentally left something and the cashier sprinted after us to return it 😅. We give our thanks to him!

I almost don’t want to post this because it feels like my best kept secret. The food here is delicious and the service is always warm and attentive. Do yourself a favor and grab the mushroom risotto and rigatoni.

We initially came here because we thought it was Vita, but that was right next door. However, we were not disappointed! The place is cute and has a few over the counter Italian goodies for purchase. We got gelato and hazelnut lattes. It was so delicious and the young man working there was wonderful, friendly, helpful, and clean. Excellent service and delicious gelato and coffee.

Me and my husband tried the Roman breakfast sandwich and the egg and cheese. They were phenomenal. I couldn’t believe we were able to have this kind of food here - truly felt like we were teleported to Italy for a bit. The service was great too. Their coffee and matcha latte were also really good. They also have some specialty Italian goods you can buy from the store. Can’t wait to go back and try their gelato and pasta!

I love this place. The food is always fresh other than their day olds pastries that are being sold half-off. If you want freshly cooked pasta, freshly baked pastries and ice cream, this is a good spot to try. Tables and chairs are available inside and out. They have a self-serve table where you can get water and utensils. The ice cream and the Nutella croissants are soooo good. The place feels so cozy and has very cute Christmas decorations.

Pasta & sandwiches are fresh and delicious! Also, great service & relaxing atmosphere. Looking forward to coming to Bottega Rittenhouse again when I’m back in Philly 😁

The atmosphere and decor are clean and inviting. The coffee is perfect. But don’t come here without buying a sandwich. They are out of this world. The bread is so soft. The meats are top quality. The sandwiches are prepared right here and come out fresh and warm.

Philly days! Only been around two or so years, this 17th Street cafe has a lot of breakfasty/lunchy food and coffee drinks to choose from. I had an iced mocha (new) latte and the delish large (and cheap) combo serving of wild strawberry swirl and chocolate hazelnut crunch gelato. One quibble, I'd offer the metal "sample" spoons instead of the plastic (soup?) spoons, as too bendy against the thick gelato. Otherwise breakfast and light Italian fare, sandwiches and pasta abound. Note: a nearby newbie and professional declared his cappuccino "the best I've ever tasted"! Limited seating inside and out and courteous service much appreciated!

Ok love love love. Right near Rittenhouse square with an unassuming front you'll find a small but tasty Italian shop. They have everything you could want: pasta and sandwiches, gelato, pastries, espresso. The croissants are huge and the "small" pasta portion is just right for lunch. Great value for price. There is also a small selection of Italian oils, vinegars and the like. Affordable lunch, cute vibes, my extract kind of place, 10/10 recommend.

LOVED IT HERE! Truly authentic Italian cooking, with authentic ingredients to purchase. The staff was so friendly and accomodating on their menu. We had to make a slight change in order for a vegetarian, and they had no issues. We tried their breakfast sandwiches & lunch sandwiches, and each bite was jam packed with substance & flavor (I mean, just look at the layers in my photo.) Fresh ingredients, and an overall quaint/bright spot. This would be an awesome place to post up and get some work done, do some people watching, and enjoy delicious food. Not to mention, their baked goods looked out of this world. We wanted to get so much, but I landed on their passion fruit donut, partly because it was the last one left (so I figured something must be good!) And let me tell you, their dough is different. The donut was dense & fluffy at the same time, and their passion fruit flavor was y-u-m-m-y. I can't wait to go back to try more sandwiches and get some grocery shopping done!

Such a great addition to the neighborhood! Delicious sandwiches, soups, coffees, salads, pastas, gelatos, and more in an unassuming space in a great location. There's also a small area for Italian specialty goods, if you can believe it. Most folks, during the lunch hour I was there, were grabbing sandwiches to-go, though they do have a small seating area should you decide to enjoy your breakfast or lunch inside. I went with the Vegetariana sandwich and tried a bite of my boyfriend's choice, the Bottega sandwich. Both were cheesy and balanced, not over the top, and served on incredible/soft italian bread. That bread + fresh ingredients = sandwich heaven. I am dying to get back and try something off their breakfast menu (only served until 11am), which includes the classics and some Italian inspired takes as well. Staff is friendly and helpful, and everything was ready in a timely fashion. This will be a regular stop for me in the neighborhood and I highly recommend stopping over for a sandwich!

Delicious food! Great local spot that does it all -- sandwiches, pasta, coffee, dessert, and selling Italian goods. Small 4 tables indoors which are all good for WFH -- outlets and WIFI available!

Have been here several times since this opened and have tried coffee, tea, and croissants. All EXCELLENT and I must say as a self-proclaimed croissant connoisseur, these are the best croissants I've ever eaten. No matter which croissant you choose, you can't go wrong. The perfect balance of flaky and crispy on the outside and chewy (but not TOO chewy) on the inside. Today, I ventured over to where they have all the imported Italian chocolate bars and tried the one with pistachios. Another excellent choice. Totally worth the ten bucks. Overall, this place uses and sells quality products. Most, if not all, are made in Italy. There are about 3 or 4 little tables inside (for 2 people), which you could just pull closer together for a party of 3 or more. I didn't notice if they were there on this cold day but when warmer, there are definitely small tables outside as well. My boyfriend told me to add a that there is no bathroom in here for customer use. Good to know. This place does NOT lose points for that in my book!

The cacio e pepe was sooo flavourful and delicious. I got the small portion for lunch and it was a generous size for the low price! You can definitely tell the pasta is homemade and everything in store is super authentic and straight from Italy! Owners and workers were very pleasant as well

Clean decor, tables inside and outside. They also sell a few Italian products. Service was cordial. Breakfast sandwiches were yummy and sharable size.

Stopped in and had a sandwich and cookie here. Very well put together sandwich with high quality, fresh ingredients. Choco chip cookie straightforward and tasty. I'll have to try something else next time. Definitely no corners cut here, worth the price for sure. Great spot to stop in for breakfast or lunch, or for one of their many bakery treats. It's a family owned coffee and sandwich shop. The ladies who work were very helpful and friendly.

I've been to Italy, several times, and the sandwiches are just like that with quality and taste using only olive oil! Buon appetito!

When walking by this place, you may not think this is anything special - but you would be sorely mistaken. I had bookmarked this place a little bit ago, but had always walked by and not noticed it. Immediately when entering, you are greeted by a friendly hostess behind the register. This is a mix between a coffee shop and a cafe. It just felt like something the city has been missing! We tried a croissant and the egg and cheese special with pesto, definitely get this sandwich if it available, it was delicious! I can not wait to return and think next time I will come later in the day to try the pasta and soup selections.

Family owned and they really care about your experience and the quality of the food. Had the biggest breakfast sandwich (egg, cheese, pesto) with super fresh ingredients on giant crusty bread that could easily feed 2 people. Made to order and super cute! Will come back for pasta.

Super clean and cute Italian cafe. They have coffee and espresso, baked goods, pasta, as well as a breakfast sandwiches until 11am. Illy coffee. Gelato. The Roman Breakfast sandwich is fire.

Never had a bad food from here. The egg, cheese and pesto sandwich may have been one of the best I've had in a long time!

Service and hospitality is amazing. On top of that the food is absolutely amazing, best breakfast sandwich I have ever had. I highly recommend the Romano Breakfast Sandwich with your recommended toppings, I typically add tomatoes and arugula.

Th perfect spot for a quick bite in Rittenhouse. This spot is authentic, rustic and family owned and operated. Always a welcoming and loving ambiance every time I'm in. A must to visit!

Such a hidden gem, the pesto breakfast sandwich is one of the best sandwiches I've had in the city. Perfect place to grab a cappuccino or pastry and tons of authentic food. Staff is incredibly friendly and ambiance is comforting

Did you know they sell gelato?! Absolutely delicious and exactly what I had in mind when I was looking for a strawberry ice cream cone. I've always had a great customer service experience here, I've tried everything from the coffee to the sandwiches to the pasta sauce, all excellent quality

Staff are kind and polite, café is small but bright and airy and welcoming, and the food is just delightful. I started going mostly because it's so convenient for a quick bite but it immediately surpassed my expectations, and I quickly realized that it is a place for true enjoyment. A great addition to the neighborhood and a real gem in a sea of Rittenhouse cafés. Get the sfogliatelle.

This place is phillys best kept secret! I had the BEST sandwich here, made me feel like I was back in Florence. Fresh ingredients, friendly staff. 10/10 RUN don't walk to your new favorite lunch spot!

We were in Philadelphia over the summer and found this little place just around the corner from our hotel. Absolutely wonderfully fresh and tasty food. It's a must try if you are in Philly. 4 months later and I still think about how good it was.

A great place to sit down with a friend just to have a expreso or a capuchino!. A treat for the eye to explore with fresh home made pasta to pleaser the pillete!. A family from Albania who cares about their customers!.!.

Great ambiance, they have pastries, great lunch options like soup and sandwiches. They sell some dried goods and the coffee is perfection! Everyone is super sweet and helpful. Great place

I had the porchetta sandwich and a cappuccino. I could die. So good! The sandwich bread had a crispy but not gum-damaging crust, and the inside was soft and perfect. The contents of the sandwich were well-matched with a lil bit of spice, melty, meaty, and salty. Cappuccino was good! It seems to be a family owned and run place. They have bread loaves, pastries, and things like olive oil, etc. for sale. If I wasn't moving and didn't have rheumatoid arthritis (...Debbie Downer), I would have splurged!

I've gotten breakfast sandwiches, lunch sandwiches, and pastries/cookies here and literally everything is tasty. It's nice to have a reliable sandwich shop in the neighborhood. It is a little pricy, but for the quality of food you're getting it makes sense.

Best Coffee in Philadelphia! Nothing against all the other coffee houses, but this new spot serving Illy Cafe is our new favorite spot. They have awesome croissants, and donuts for breakfast. Looking forward to a lunch or dinner in the near future.
