Fav Christmas bar to go to. The vibe of this place is awesome. Well decorated, drinks are solid for the price. I also like how they have their drinks in funny cups, ie a drink in a box. Their service is good too. This is my staple spot to go to during the holidays :-)

Bottle & Barlow is a barbershop by day and a bar by night. It is one of my go to bars in Sacramento for their amazing drinks 🍹 Love the unique names and their delicious adult beverages. They celebrate seasonal drinks as well as happy hour 🍻 specials. Patio seating available, and a must see holiday decor. No one can top their decorations during the holidays. Love their Halloween 🎃 theme!!

Dapper place with great happy hour! Got a haircut and several drinks and left more than satisfied! The drink menu will meet everyone’s expectations and the staff is really nice. Great date spot or place to meet friends!

This bar was super cute. I went during Christmas when it was all decorated. They did a Gremlins theme, and it was fantastic. Their drinks were also delicious, and not too expensive.

Went on a Saturday following the online open hours. They were closed. Tried calling, phone disconnected. Not sure what's going on with the place. I hope they put something on there website if they closed for good, temporary or otherwise. By the way, this is for the barber side.

Zach J gave me a fantastic haircut this morning. I showed him a picture of what I was going for and he gave me exactly what I wanted. Even a little better. He was also super friendly and professional. I’ll definitely be coming back next time…. Maybe a little later when I can enjoy the drinks and food too! Highly recommend this joint. My girlfriend and I went here a few times in the past and we decided to try it again. The first time a few weeks ago they had a bartender who was visually drunk. We decided to leave. We tried a gain a week later and once we got to the bar, the bartender dropped the drink he was making which splashed all over the counter and some got on me. No free drink, and barely a "sorry". I really wanted this place to be good so I gave it more of a go than I should have. We ordered our drinks and the bartender started making them without cleaning the mess on the counter. I ordered a cocktail and it tasted artificial and something else that was off. My girlfriend ordered a slush drink from the machine they have there and it tasted like off brand candy and alcohol. We only took a few sips but couldn't even get 1/4 of the drinks down. As we left I noticed the bartender helping another customer while the mess was still there. I recommend Snug and The Shady Lady. Far better experience.

Had a lovely time! Their bar tender was friendly and very creative. The lovely lady who took care of me wrote the delicious recipes for many of the drinks there and they were all yummy. I loved that the people who work there get to participate and create!

I had a really good time at Bottle & Barlow last night. My friend and I went in after getting some dinner just to have a drink. First, staff. Our bartender was so great. He was so personable and helpful when choosing our drinks. We got the pineapple cider which was just put on rotation! It was delicious and sweet. Definitely the sweetest cider I'd ever had. It was delicious. The ambiance is great as well. I liked that they had sports playing and the bar itself is really beautiful. Reminds me of something out of The Great Gatsby! Overall, I will be back to try some cocktails! I recommend stopping in for a drink and meeting the staff.

This is a really cool chill bar to spend time at either by yourself or with some friends. The times that I've been here it's a laid back environment even on the busier nights. There's indoor seating, bar seating, and outdoor seating. The bartenders are friendly and cool, the drinks are good and I like the cider options here. This isn't the place you'll be dancing to the music at but you could definitely chit chat with the regulars or bartenders. Came recently and sat inside with my friend enjoying a drink after dinner while baseball played on the tv. It was relaxing and a great place for a lowkey hang out. Bartender was attentive and quick with our drinks.

Cool lowkey bar! Came during Halloween weekend and the decorations were so cute! The music was great and they had The Office playing on the big screen TV lol. Just a cool vibe and not too rowdy. It was the last weekend for some spooky drinks so we took advantage. The Apple jack o lantern was a little sweet and tasted how it sounds. It was great! I also had the pumpkin spice painkiller and it tasted like a piña colada with pumpkin spice, my favorite drink for sure! The pink starburst shots were also very delicious and sweet. The service was over the top. The gentleman at the bar seemed to have really good interactions with everyone. I hope to be back for their Christmas menu.

I just came here for a few drinks and they have one of the best happy hour prices around! This place is unique in that they have a barber shop attached to the bar! The drinks are aesthetically pleasing, and taste pretty good too. A friend of mine had a jack and coke in a coke bottle with a cherry on top. I thought that was the cutest thing ever. Ps... The service was great, the drinks were solid, and the prices were to be expected. This was my second time at Bottle & Barlow (I enjoyed their Christmas pop-up), but I'll absolutely be back.

Came to Bottle & Barlow for the first time just after 4pm on Wed. Jan. 3rd after attempting to go on the Fri. before Christmas and finding that the line outside was super long. It was a happy surprise that the amazing holiday Gremlin decorations were still up to be enjoyed! We sat at the bar top and learned a few fun facts about the bar while we were there. The holiday decorations are all put up and taken down each year by just one person who works at the barbershop - bravo!! The bar allows dogs inside and outside in the patio area and even has water bowls and dog bacon treats for the furry friends. Lastly, Bottle & Barlow curates drinks on a seasonal rotating basis which really demonstrates their passion for mixology. These seasonal drinks are in addition to their regular menu drinks such as one of their most popular, Strawberry Thotcake - which is absolutely delicious! We spent a couple hours at the bar and tried their seasonal sangria which was also on their happy hour menu and was just ok, but since it was discounted due to happy hour I didn't mind. We also tried their espresso martini which was really strong, and another seasonal cocktail with mezcal that was a spin on a Mexican hot chocolate which was also pretty strong and of course very smoky in flavor. Overall the drinks were good, the service was great, and the environment was the best. Great music too - the bartender had chosen Kid Cudi that day. I'll definitely be back!

Went in for New Years...it wasn't extremely busy. I went last year and the drinks were good. We went this year and it was horrible. My husband orders us some vodka sodas and the guy literally served us a shot of vodka with tap water. We asked for a new one and he said "uh, we ran out of club soda" and didn't offer an exchange for the drink or a refund! It would have been nice to be told that they don't have soda water when we ordered it in the first place!

We stopped in Bottle & Barlow after first visiting Snug and Vito's down the street- quick walk on a cool evening! There was only one bartender staffing the bar, but she always made a point to greet every group that entered, and acknowledged them. There was a larger group ahead of us, and the bartender Elise was super apologetic for the wait, even though it didn't bother us at all. I ended up getting the "Big ass Johnny cash" - which included guava, lime, grapefruit, and rosemary. It was super refreshing and a perfect summer drink, also not too sweet. I noticed on the menu that our bartender Elise was actually the one that created this recipe- thought it was so nice that they listed the names of the bartenders that created each drink. My husband got the "Galaxy's best freezer martini" - a classic freezer martini that was elevated with cucumber, dill, and celery bitters. He said it was the best freezer martini he's had in Sacramento. Will definitely be back!

Vibes here are great. I loved when they had dice to roll to determine what type of alcohol to use for your drink. That was always fun with friends. Also a great place for a chill date after dinner or something

Bottle and Barlow used to be a great bar and barbershop. The new ownership pretty much closed down the barbershop and ruined the bar. Last visit we came around 5:00 but they weren't opened until 5:30, even though hours say they open at 4. The cocktails that were made for us weren't good and the vibes were weird. The bartender was taking shots as he was making our drinks. We asked for a menu since normally they have menus. The bartender told us they had no menus but he could "make anything." This was a real unique gem in Sacramento that many people loved. It's honestly sad to see what the new ownership is doing to this place

My friend and I did a mini trip in downtown to find Christmas themed bars and this bar topped the rest. It was truly festive inside. I liked the little gremlins peeking out in certain areas of the decoration. Those little mischiefs. We had a couple of drinks here, but I honestly forgotten the names of them. Though, I do remember that they were delicious. The descriptions of ingredients in the drinks is what you will truly get in your glass. The place was busy that night, but the bartenders surely had it covered. They made sure to get the majority of the customers in and out with their orders without leaving any garnishes or sprinkles out of the glasses.

So I have this thing I do where I go get my hair cut and then eat poke. Don't judge. It's my favorite combo. So, I got my hair cut again today, November 4, 2023, at 11 a.m., at Bottle and Barlow by Miranda. Then I went next door to get my poke and hand roll. This is me in my happy place. Thanks, Miranda and team, you always take such good care of me and my hair. The attention to detail (and complimentary adult drink included) with my barber service is so nice.

Came in today, July 12th, to grab a beer with a friend. We both ordered a space dust. The bartender starts pouring the beers and I can see that beer tap is having an issue. Instead of just pouring one, or simply asking us to make another selection, the bartender continued trying to pour and gave us half empty glasses filled with foam. I'm not the type to complain, so I just took them back to our table but once I tasted it I knew it wasn't even an IPA. I take them both to the bartender and informed him that they weren't the IPA we ordered, let alone an IPA, they tasted like straight pilsners. The bartender said "I'm 100% certain it's Space Dust" and finally poured himself a taster and sure enough he was wrong. It was a Pilsner that he poured. He attempted to correct the mistake by pouring 2 more of the correct IPA, but once again filled them halfway. As a bartender, I would've just gave the half of what came out the tap to the guest as a courtesy, or just charged for a single beer. But instead the bartender charged the full price for both. Such a disappointing experience as he could've just let us know to order something else.

I had an excellent experience with Zach today. I'm SO grateful he was working and I left with one of the best haircuts and beard line-ups I've ever had. I have been having my hair cut at Bottle & Barlow for several years now. I've never had the exact same hair cut twice, never had anything less than a stellar experience, and ALWAYS leave feeling like a million bucks. It's the only establishment that I let cut my hair, and I don't even live in the area. When I'm in California I drive 90 minutes just to go to Bottle & Barlow. When I'm in Arizona, I will make a trip to NorCal to get my hair-cut and visit family. I'm about to embark on a year in Kentucky and, crazy as it sounds I will still only get my hair cut at Bottle & Barlow (yep...I'll find an excuse to fly to NorCal). They are that good.

Very good and efficient service, in a unique and comfortable environment. Zach (sp?) did a great job.

This place used to be really good, it recently changed ownership and it's clear the new owners have no idea how the magic of this place worked. This place used to be popping on the weekends and have regular events throughout the week. Now it is unfortunately very dead on the weekends, and it's clear that they have ripped all the uniqueness of this bar out and replaced it with a sterile visage of what it ones was. This place used to have unique drinks I couldn't get down the road at shady lady or the snug, but now all the drinks lack the originality they used to. This place is now a hard pass unless you are on the way to another better bar nearby.

Highly don't recommend getting a haircut here (got my haircut three times here to see if it got any better). Latest appointment was automatically rescheduled to someone else the morning of, and the new Barber missed a large portion of hair and shoved me out 15 minutes into a 30 minute appointment. Had to clean it up myself. For ~$50 including tip + a small complimentary drink, was very disappointed. Will now be looking for a new barber shop.

I've been here twice now. Each time I went on a weeknight and it was pretty empty, which isn't exactly a bad thing if you're coming here to talk with someone. Note that they play loud rock/screamo music though. I've had the strawberry mojito and cosmo. Both were tasty and refreshing. They have a cooler of water you can help yourself to. They don't have food, but the bartender said they're fine with you bringing your own food from somewhere nearby. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The decor inside is very cute! I would return on a weekend to see if the crowd is more lively.

I absolutely love the vibe at Bottle & Barlow. I will usually sit outside and people watch with my Moscow mule. They offer happy hour from 4-7pm Monday through Friday! They have a good amount of seating as well inside and out so that's a plus! The service has always been good to me so no complaints there!! All in all, this is great place to start and/or end your night!!! The happy hour drink specials are always a plus when it comes to bringing the people in on a weeknight and they continue to do an amazing job!

I booked a haircut here for my German boyfriend, who was visiting from Germany. I wanted him to experience an old fashioned American Barbershop. Because if COVID they couldn't do the way towel shave, but his hair cut turned out great! He enjoyed being pampered here and he especially liked the drink that comes with the cost of the haircut. Thank you B&B for making his birthday spa-day a treat.

The rudest bartenders I have ever experienced. My friend was yelled at by a female skinny bartender with tattoos for mispronouncing a drink menu item. So the next time up she asked me to go up because she was scared of the bartender. She was extremely rude, dismissive and proceeded to decide to ignore me. Another person in our party arrived late coming from work and received terrible attitude from the same bartender. I know it was the holidays but you can't just yell at people because you're not having a good shift at work. We decided to ask for drinks from the bartender on the left side of the bar and she was also dismissive and ignored us while taking shots with people she knew. I really wanted to like this place specially since we drove from far away to meet here.

Went here last Thursday with a group of friends for a birthday and I must say.... Being a colored group did not help. Everyone just started at us like we were in the wrong bar. We stayed behind some people in line on the right side of the bar then I noticed some chairs in the middle opened up so my 3 girls and I sat there.. And waited.. and waited.. never greeted, never acknowledged, never even looked our way for I kid you not, 15-20 minutes. Meanwhile the bartender on the right just keeps taking everyone else. Finally a blonde haired girl passed by so I waved her down to let her know we haven't been helped yet, and no one even said hello. I asked if there was a bartender that would be helping us, and she said there's a dishwasher here. If there's a dishwasher on the other side of chairs where I'm sitting I do expect to still be helped! Anyway I told her how long we've been waiting and we just wanted to get a drink. She looks at the bartender next to her and asked the guy with the big gauges to help us after. He yells yeah you guys are after this big group. Mind you we've been there far long then they have.. He finally came to help us and I asked if the Halloween menu is the same as the regular menu and he looked at me crazy. I told him I seen the expresso martini but wanted to know if the Halloween drink was the exact same, he gave me attitude. So I just told him to just make me that one drink. He seemed so bothered helping us colored people out. After 3 of my friends purchased their drinks, my last girl tried to order, but he walked away. Sadly will probably never come here again. We have never felt so out of place before, I just wanted to hurry up and drink my drink and leave. So sad.

This place was nice, very busy, clean, and the drinks were great. The music inside was very VERY loud! But other than that, it was a great place!

This bar is a beautiful place to be if you like to have a very good first, second, third date. I love coming back here and trying new drinks. The bar tenders Elise, Rin, and bar back rukstar are masters at mixology if they are there you are definitely in for a treat. Friday is the night I'm here currently and it is absolutely popping in here. The drinks are absolutely delicious. If you have never had a penicillin I highly recommend that you try it. But the thotcake and the big ass Johnny cash those are the two of the best damn thought out drinks I have ever tasted. However the absinthe added to the whiskey sour is definitely the best sour I've ever had. Elise is the best bartender I have had in my entire life. And if you don't tip well I will actually hunt you down. However if the drink you've asked for Isnt to your liking, they will accommodate you usually unless it is immediately busy. Other than that it is an excellent choice to brink somebody or even just come solo dolo. Exactly the right music for the ambiance of the bar. Also a higher class of customer (company outing type/ sugar mamas lmaoooo). Come by if you'd like a really chill great time. Ask for Elise, rin, and ruhksar if you'd like a great drink. If not just ask for a drink then the rest of the bartenders will make it like you want.

Cocktails are delicious! I recommend the mezcal hot chocolate drink. The decorations are Gremlin-Christmas themed! I couldn't tell if the bartender was having a bad day or if he was in holiday character as a grumpy Gremlin. Vibes were a little confusing since I didn't feel completely welcomed, but I still recommend this pit stop for a bar crawl! The decor is picture worthy

Rating 5.0 TLDR: I came for a haircut then stayed for the drinks. I will be coming here in that order from now on. So yes! If you're getting a haircut, don't look any further, their barbers are phenomenal, and the drinks are well made. Not TLDR: Ever since my original barber moved away, I've been hunting for a new place to get cut. I decided to check this place out since I heard they offer a free drink with a haircut. I was under the impression that it was just a beer, like another barber shop in town. However, they offer free mixed drink too! I had an old fashion while I patiently waited for my scheduled cut. The drink was well made, not too sweet, not too bitter. When it was time for my haircut, Esteban was very cool and easy to talk to. He made my haircut experience very enjoyable, and his style is definitely what I've been looking for. Needless to say, I was very satisfied with the results of my haircut. Afterwards, my wife and I stayed at the bar for some drinks. It was happy hour, and the mixed drinks were reasonably priced. The bartenders werent too busy, and they engaged with us for a bit. The drinks they made were delicious and well made as well. Overall, if youre getting a haircut, look no further. Bottles and Barlows is the place to be. Have a drink - before or after your haircut. You wont be disappointed.

The conversations that these barbers have aloud in the shop (especially the owner) are pretty innapropriate. I get that you guys feel comfortable and maybe some of your guests like the gross material that you talk about. However, this is a business, not everyone shares you're feelings and I believe conversations should still be kept professional. I don't care to hear about how stoned or drunk you get. I was just waiting for my barber when hearing this. The owner was in the middle of cutting someone's hair and talking to the barber next to him. If I was getting my haircut from someone saying this crap, Would have gotten up and walked out. That's a no for me. Anthony: I have attempted to get my money back. Please issue my refund ASAP or I will be contacting my bank to retrieve it.

On the phone, I asked Sean not to shave the back of my head because I break out very badly on my neck when it is cut close. I wanted to be very clear so I told him on the phone, "I want to be clear, I don't even want it "tight or even close..please leave at least 1/4 inch on the entire back" When I arrived I began to tell him again and he actually cut me off and said he remembered the call. Then he shaved the back to the skin with the clippers. When I got home I was shocked. I called and and said WTF? Sean actually defended himself by saying, "I didn't use a straight edge." Sean obviously stopped listening to me right after I said I don't want the back shaved :( I was just talking to myself when I then said, and nothing less than 1/4 inch long. It often gets so much worse and is stubborn to go away :( :( :( I'm praying it does not get that bad this time :( :( :( Surgeons and nurses will get to see it for several more weeks. :( THANKS SEAN :( Does it look like he left "at least 1/4 inch" on the entire back? Great deals for happy hour on alcoholic drinks. The non - alcoholic drinks are extremely over price. Twice as expensive as a happy hour drink, I was so disappointed. I skipped a drink. Very nice ambiance. They even have a cool photo booth for a fee.

Lilly gave me a kick ass haircut with a great vibe here. with what seems like a hundred barbers in downtown sac, this one is solid with good people and a great vibe. totally recommend Lilly.

i absolutely love the battender ryan and miriam they are the absolute best bartenders here. they acknowledged me when i walked in. asked for order pronto and respected my options. absolutely love this establishment and will he back again for the amazing drinks.

Alleged manager Ryan was rude and disrespectful when asked if I could have my laptop back. Claimed he could hold it as long as he likes because it's not in my possession and I was stupid for leaving it with a stranger. Seems very odd for someone that's representing a company to act in such a manor. Especially when I'm the one that trusted it to his care personally and there was no question of who's it was

Yummy drinks! Very cute place. Kind of on the pricier side. It was empty when we came in and I wonder why. Would definitely return!

Bottle & Barlow feels like a hidden gem that I hope no one else finds. It's on R Street and it has an old-school/roaring 20s feel to it. I'm a big fan of their changing seasonal speciality drinks, I've yet to have one that I don't like. If you are more of a gin and tonic or beer drinker they have you covered too. The staff are always very friendly and there is a downstairs bar area, there's outside seating and a slim bar that you can sit at that's behind the bar so you can see everyone, which is really neat. During the summer parking can be a challenge but there's residential parking a block away. COVID Update: I came on a Friday that was pretty chilly so it wasn't super busy, they have outdoor seating only and they ask that you wear a mask unless seated. They seat you and I really appreciated that they sat everyone apart, they really did their best to keep different parties at a good distance from each other. There were heaters so I wasn't cold, and all of the staff wore masks. Someone would come to you at your table to take your order, and they would take your payment when done. There was hand sanitizer available and they wiped down the tables after someone left. They also have you access their menu by scanning a QR code that's at all the tables. I love that they put so much effort and care into keeping staff and customers safe. 5/5 stars for COVID safety.

The bar has a chill vibe, but we got there at 1:00 a.m. on a Saturday night and were told It was too late to order a kamikaze shooter. The bartender Marin had plans to leave early just to hang with her boyfriend who was at the bar. Your job is to serve cocktails, the bar closes at 2 am That was not good customer service and I don't think the owner would be happy to know you're running their establishment in that fashion.

I've had my head shaped at several barbers all over Sacramento and Citrus Heights. When you have an experience with a new barber, it can be ridden with anxiety and apprehension BUT it can also be exciting. For a few years, local shops have offered a drink or refreshment while you wait for your appointment. Very charming and a great way to gain recurring customers. Sometimes though, you can be fooled into false security and think "Sure, the haircut I just got isn't perfect but the conversation was pleasant and I got that free beer!" B&B has friendly staff, an easy to use online appointment system, you can order a drink while waiting (or more when done and the bar is open), AND you walk away looking just as good as you want to or better. I've had my hair and beard trimmed here at least 4 times over the last few years (yesterday was my first pro cut in a year and a half. Thanks, C19). Everytime, it's a WOW experience to spin around and see that my fumbling directions of how I wanted my beard and hair to be shaped--paired with an experienced barber--resulted in exceeded expectations. My regular barber is Mandy. Highly recommend, though as mentioned, I've seen the other barbers do good work on other patrons while I was in the chair.

Love this place! Never had a bad cut from any of the barbers, and Bethany has become my go-to for cuts and beard trims. The whole team is solid and I just dig the atmosphere. Oh and a free drink with your cut puts them over the top for me

Avoid this place. The first bartender (a slight girl with short hair and a worn B&B shirt) served me a Tecate & a medicinally poured shot of Woodford and charged me $16. I asked the second bartender, (black with an afro and beard) for a shot of Woodford. $20. He served a double. I didn't ask for a double. This place is a scam unless you work in "the industry" or are a dumb tech who doesn't care.

One of the few places open on Xmas eve. Showed nick around my hometown. Bottle and Barlow is my favorite place to get craft cocktails. We stopped in and order their seasonal holiday drinks. They were delicious, I was very tempted to get a second round but we had to go to family dinner. Bottle and Barlow just recently added a photo booth which we took advantage of. We will be seeing you over summer bottle & Barlow

*this is a keep it simple review* well i was sick of going to super cuts or fan-sams or sports-clips and getting meh, haircuts. Bottle and barlow was a new experience for me and I walked away happy.

From creative cocktails, playful drink names and an awesome space upstairs behind the bar, this bar is one of my favorites in Sac. When someone asks me where I want to grab a drink, this is one of my top choices if I'm in a craft cocktail mood or I'm looking for a place that has a later happy hour. The space always has great tunes playing, whether they are through the sound system or from a DJ (pro tip: check their Insta for DJ appearances and special events including food truck appearances). The drinks are delicious and the menu is changed every now and then. I love the care and creativity they come up with not only ingredient combos but drink names. A bonus is that they also own the barbershop that is connected to it, so clients can have a quality cocktail while they get their hair cut if they want. I love the non-metered parking to the left of the bar as well. For good prices on quality drinks, check out their happy hour (5-8 p.m. Monday through Friday) or aforementioned occasional drink special events, which tend to take place on Thursdays. Cheers!

I've seen anthony two or three times. Today (Saturday) I saw Bethany. She did an amazing job with my fade. Not only was it perfect, her customer service skills are on point. Very easy to talk to and funny. Thanks for the fade Bethany. The receptionist also gets 5 start. They are always so welcoming and nice.

Environment is cool. Place looked clean.They have beer They do seem to get into political topics so if you aren't into that I would stay away. Haircuts def not the best. Barber said "oops" midway of cutting my hair and then I was left damn near bald, no type of blend at all as requested. Def a rushed haircut. Maybe just the wrong barber? Eh wouldn't return either way.
