The London Delivery & Takeaway Directory

"Bottle Apostle is a pretty serious wine shop in Clapham. They always have a solid stock of wines you want to drink, and knowledgable staff on hand to give you the advice you need. Head here to order a small selection of their wines for immediate delivery, or check out their online shop for a more elaborate order." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, rianne shlebak

Vast selection of wines. What is most interesting is you can sample different wines using a vending machine .. good way of tasting a variety of wines and yes you can get tipsy. Staff very knowledgeable.

Google
Good local bottle shop with a really extensive and interesting selection. I came in looking for 2 pretty obscure wines that I had spotted on the website and left with plenty more. Could have easily spent another hour looking at the shelves. Prices are a little on the steep side but that's expected in Abbeville Road and considering the selection they have and the quality of the shop and service completely fair (also selling single bottles rather than cases is obviously more pricey). Ideal place to pick up a few mid to higher end bottles rather than restock your entire cellar.

I have been in this morning to buy a bottle of wine. Meanwhile, I was paying the blonde girl that was serving me, maybe French most probably thought was nice to please the client that entered next of me just because was probably French too and started to serve her to let her pay as first, this is very rude and arrogant, I'm happy they sell natural wines from Italy, although it is a really small selection of bottles talking of red natural wines from 🇮🇹

Google
Inviting and well organized wine shop with a wide variety of wines, (including a solid collection of orange/skin contact). Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Made picking out a gift bottle for a friend’s parents an absolute breeze - they even sold tasteful little gift bags!

Google
Staff were extremely helpful and game to help me with a very specific wine request. They found the perfect bottle for my needs, and with so much enthusiasm and knowledge. Will return!

Google
Staff were friendly helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. They gave me detailed descriptions of the wine which I appreciated. After focusing on cremant I asked for any sparkling recommendation and was given at Cava that was one of my favourite sparkling wines I’ve had this year, full of yeast and cream notes.

Google
Great knowledgeable service and for me on the beers a nice London selection with good multi buy discount

Google
Nice store and friendly staff. However, went there for a bottle of champagne and after being told that they didn't sell either of the bottles I requested, relied upon their recommendation that was at the same price point for Mother's Day. The bottle bore zero resemblance to the either of the bottles I had asked for (where I also described our pallet) and we ended up pouring it out as neither of us could get through a glass let alone a bottle. It's important to note that the bottle was not corked, etc - but was simply a complete error in judgement - which was compounded by the fact my wife wasn't able to enjoy the champagne on her day.

Yelp
We go in here once a week to sample some of their wines on offer and it's great for last minute gifts as always a great selection. Always find the service incredibly helpful too and the team working here really know their wines :)

Yelp
I have been in and out of Bottle Apostle in Abbeville almost since it opened: the staff have been amazingly courteous, well-informed and helpful in answering my particular needs. It has a wide-ranging stock that alas is sometimes - but only sometimes - out of my financial range: at the same time they isolate low-cost drink-alongs that are unfailingly value-for-money. I once - and only once - took back a wine that had gone wrong, and they replaced it without hesitation. A great Clapham institution: thank you staff - and skol to you all!

Yelp
Terrible customer service. If there is something wrong with your wine, don't expect the staff will do anything about it. Two weeks ago I bought a bottle of white wine. I wanted something on the adventurous side. After opening it at home it tasted and smelled of apple vinegar: not a pleasant surprise in a wine. I took the bottle back just to hear that this is normal in this type of wine (!) when in the reality the wine was absolutely non drinkable. No one offered to exchange the wine or refund the money. It turned out I just spent 26 pounds for something which would cost 2 pounds in Tesco and definitely wouldn't even stand in the wine section.. Super disappointed. Bottle Apostle is a beautiful store but they lack any idea of Customer focus. They are short sighted and disgustingly ignorant of Customer satisfaction. Even if you are a loyal Customer with them the moment there is a complaint they will treat you like you walked into the store for the first time. I am a frequent in other large and small UK wine retailers and this is the first time I have been in a situation in which a store pretending to be an upscale retailer would refuse to replace or refund an obviously flawed wine which is highly recommended just a few hours earlier. No morals or sense or responsibility for the wines they carry whatsoever. Stay well away and opt for Odd Bins, Majestic Wines, Naked Wines or Wines Naturally where such a situation would be unthinkable. Hope this review is useful and ensures you will not make the same mistake given the huge choice of other much higher quality retailers which will take full responsibility for the wines they sell and won't bale on you.
