Bottle Bar East - Review - Fishtown - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"Bottle Bar East has one of the biggest beer and wine selections in the city, and it’s all in bottles and cans in a stretch of fridges. So instead of standing in front of an annoyed bartender while you flip through 40 pages of options trying to decide which IPA has the lowest price and highest alcohol content, you can stare indecisively at the fridges for as long as you want and they won’t kick you out for wasting their time. Also, if you need a halftime break from your decision-making, they have a ton of seating in the back and upstairs where they serve bar food that’s good all the time, but even better during Happy Hour when appetizers are half-off." - Sydney McElwee

Google
This one took us by surprise. The beers ended up being some of the better beers we had that trip, the atmosphere was fun, and the staff was super friendly. Most of the beers we had elsewhere felt pretty one note while the hazy we had here had some depth to it. They were pretty generous with their samples, and we had some lengthy conversation with both the bartenders and regulars. The bar is the main spot we were at, which had some fun art and lighting, which is always a bonus. There are tones of bottles to buy too if that's more of your interest. Overall a fun little spot to grab a drink

Google
My journey to finding the best smash burger led me to Bottle Bar East - a laidback bar with a huge selection of alcohol! I got the smash burger with caramelized onions and it was decent. I wish the onions were cut smaller, and the overall texture of the burger was too soft. It felt like every bite it was just falling apart. The pickles were the only thing that changed up the texture profile. I’ve had better in Philly, but it was still good. A special shout out to the fries with beer cheese. That is some of the best cheese I’ve ever had, so rich and creamy. I will definitely come back for more of that!

Google
Bottle Bar East was a neat stop on a day of trying out different local spots. A huge selection of beers was available, however I was surprised there weren't more beers on draft as an option. Nice to see food was available as well - the empanadas were super tasty.

Went here prior to the Phillies game this past Saturday. This would be my second time here, but the first time I had the chance to try the food from Good Vibe Dope Burgers. I’ve tried many of fried chicken sandwiches in Philly, but this one without a doubt has to be the best I’ve had in Philly. The Sweet Heat has a perfect condiment concoction with their house ranch and hot honey. On top of that, it’s gotta be the biggest portion I’ve seen as well, it easily could have been 10-12 ounces of chicken alone. With a phenomenal crunch from the breading, (and what I believe to be a XL potato roll) I don’t know how I could try anything else the next time I come back. Not to mention the fries were a knock out of the park paired with their cooper sharp beer cheese. The chef was even nice enough to come in and check on us, and the sincereness of his character really showed in that short moment. I’m so happy to have this in the neighborhood, and I cannot wait to be back!

Google
Awesome food and beer selection. They let you choose from their wide selection and just charge you accordingly. The server was awesome, she made the whole experience enjoyable. The other staff were also friendly. I highly recommend

Google
We came to visit last Saturday for lunch. The menu was small, with only a handful of different choices. I am thankful that I got their chicken tenders and fries as their tenders were handed breaded and absolutely delicious. My friends got the chicken wings and the cauliflower bites. While the portions here are large, I would've preferred a small portion at a reduced price.

Great vibes for a beer! Sours are excellent. Great mozza sticks

Google
Very cool place to have good food and drinks. We had the nachos and smashed burger. The burger was really good. The bartender was really nice and helpful. My favorite thing about the place was the cool decor and atmosphere. We definitely will be coming back again.

Yelp
Great food, good ambiance & slightly confusing but super friendly service. There's a register for purchasing alcohol to go and then a register for being at the bar. For food, we ordered at the bar & paid, but someone did bring it out to us and was refilling our water - so it at first didn't seem like we'd have a server (it's small enough it doesn't matter much tbh) but the staff was still very attentive. Not sure how it goes outside but I'd absolutely go to the bar again for dinner. I recently got takeout from here and it was such a nice set up, ordered my burger and perused the beverages, but the staff put in my food order while I browsed, making it one seamless transaction AND my food wasn't delayed by my wine browsing.

Yelp
Such a great burger and such great value! We love when you can get a burger AND fries!! Staff knows their stuff and the beer selection is great! Pop in for a 6 pack or sit and have a pint at the bar.

Yelp
Beer is delicious, the number of option is overwhelming. You can buy singles or create a 6 pack. I enjoyed sitting up stairs where it's a bit brighter and cooler.

Yelp
Cool spot with a decent bottle selection in the cooler. Not a super wide or local selection, but hit the spot. Staff always are the highlight of visits here. Good cocktails and friendly conversation.

Yelp
Customer service should most definitely be addressed because today (4/19/25) I watched a young man (doesn't matter his race/ethnicity but we know what he was..) come in Saturday afternoon and sit patiently while white after white was served by the surliest and honestly not the most hygienic looking bartender. Now I was simply in to grab a couple brewskis, but to sit and watch this happen was nothing short of disheartening. The overheard the bartender that he'll be right with him to which the young man simply addressed the fact that he'd been waiting for a solid 7-10 minutes. Now I know fishtown is changing and catering to certain clientele of the napkin shade but I thought everyone's money was welcomed round here. Sad. I wanna say perhaps this guy was having a bad day but by the looks of his face I'd say it's more along the lines of a bad life. Idk customer service still means something to me so I had to come to yelp to tattle for change. Hopefully that cashier gets the help he needs or a job better suited to his attitude.

Yelp
Decent enough concept and food, however very weird about Sriracha sauce. It is in plain view and in abundance on the shelf, plus a bottle in use in the cooking area, however, when I asked for a side of Sriracha, they said they did not have any. Very disappointing that they would blatantly lie to my face. When I called them out that it was right there they said it's not for customers. It would have complimented my Smashburger and fries very well, enough to leave a better rating.

Yelp
Wow. Okay this place is so underrated. I've only ever been in for beer (which you can purchase by the case). But I finally got to try their food and WOW. it's a traditional bar food menu, so nothing too fancy. But it's all cooked so well and not over fried or too greasy. Well seasoned. Amazing sauces. And the portions are massive. The place is a little grungy, but I like that vibe. And the service was great. I'll absolutely be returning.

Yelp
A brilliant concept, which fuses a few everyday spots into one unique experience. The liquor store, the convenience store, the sports bar. Selection on alcohol and NA options is top notch. They've got Dewey smoothies. Never a bad beer from them. Also some unique sake I'm excited to give a try. I'll definitely be back - if not for the good selection, for the vibes. Service was more of a sport bar style - don't expect a quick convenience store checkout.

Yelp
This place was always a chill place to visit and get some good craft beers. I like how they have the fridge area where u can go pick up a can and go to the main bar area to grab a seat and drink! The food here is pretty solid too. Seems like it's not as good as I remember it when they had items like "Sweet Thai Chili Fried Cauliflower" and "Meatloaf Sandwhiches", but still pretty solid. The BIGGEST complaint about this establishment is the fact that when you play something on the jukebox, depending on who's working, if they decide to not wanna hear what's being played, they will purposely turn it off. To me, this gives a sense of who they prefer to be in their establishment. And it can definitely affect the customer experience and mileu (I love music). I feel they hired these young, ignorant suburban kids to be bartenders and they don't have any culture outside of their own. This is why I will only give this place the rating I did. THIS DOESNT FEEL VERY INCLUSIVE ANYMORE I'd rather spend my hard earned money elsewhere unfortunately because I really like this place. Also, last time I was there, a young blonde girl totally ignored me and disregarded any of my requests when trying to get a drink.

Alicia S.

Yelp
The service is the worse at this place. The guy behind the register with the long hair has the biggest attitude.

Yelp
Tons of options in this bottle shop! Any drink from the store, you can drink at the bar or on the patio of the shop. Didn't try the food, but enjoyed the interior and watching the game on the TV while enjoying a tasty cider. Even some take away meats, cheeses and items if you're on the go to a picnic!

Yelp
A funky spot like this one will surely brighten up your weekend. Came here on a Sunday with a friend to catch up. We arrived around 1:30 and we were seated immediately. Our waiter came over to ask what we wanted to drink. I was in the mood for a cider. The waiter said he only had a ginger cider on draft but that I was more than welcome to walk over to the beer coolers and grab one that I liked. I ended up just getting a water. It wasn't busy at all on this particular day, but I will say the service here is really quick. Before we knew it, he was back to take our order. I got the cauliflower wings appetizer as my meal. They were smothered in BBQ sauce and they were delicious! They smelled like actual wings. The cauliflower was fried. It was simply amazing. That's all you need to know. My friend got the Cheesus Christ grilled cheese and it looked like a sandwich you'd see in a commercial. The bread had the perfect complexion, if you will. She added tomato for $1 extra and bacon for $2 extra. On Sunday, you can get any grilled cheese sandwich for half price. Can't complain about the food or service. Everything was marvelous, all the way down to the cleanliness of the establishment and how friendly the employees were. Would recommend!

Yelp
I love this bar but the food sucks, here's an order of buffalo with a side of cauliflower bites, it was not even edible.
google avatar

Yelp
Best of both worlds. Come here to pick up drinks for your party from their huge (HUGE) variety. Or keep walking back to the bar and stay out to have some drinks. There's not a too much seating at the bar area and the whole place is pretty narrow and long so not for large parties but still worth stopping by of your bar hopping through the Fishtown area. Definitely worth stopping by for their clean bathrooms. Probably the best in the area honestly! So plan your night around that haha.

Yelp
If you're in a rush and need a variety of hip brews to bring to that banger at your bro's, this place is for you. They have a variety of cider's for your GFAF friends (gluten free as efff) IPA's for your hipster homies, and the basic beers for all the other white girls that you can grab in a "Mix 6" format, but it's gonna cost you a pretty penny. But let's be honest, I'm willing to pay some good money for a selection that's ready to drink, cold out the fridge. If you find yourself farther than the front door, their kitchen is open until 1am and their tacos are BANGING. The Vietnamese Pork Belly Tacos and the Chicken Chorizo Tacos are amazing and they chicken ones have this sauce (edit: honey chipotle-aioli) that they need to bottle so I can put that sh*t on everything.

Yelp
Solid pub fare that includes some Asian inspiration as well. Their wings were perfectly seasoned, brussel sprouts were tasty and just the right amount of crisp and you can never mess up a mac+cheese. Their ample selection of beers is a tribute to their name and the quirky bottle decor makes the place unique and fun. I would definitely come back!!

Yelp
Bottle Bar East is one of my go-to spots when i'm looking for a great beer selection. In addition to a great selection of beers on draft, they have an incredible number of different beers and ciders in bottles and cans that you can drink there or take to-go. I could spend hours there. To eat, I've had the Impossible Burger which comes with fries. It was good but a little small for the price. My friends have gotten the cheesesteak empanadas and nachos and really enjoyed them.

Yelp
I can't even count how many times I've walked or driven past this place, never even knowing it existed. Even when my friend and I walked up for some pre-kickball drinks (on her recommendation), I was completely baffled. It appeared to be just a small, dark, bottle shop. I couldn't even really tell it was open. BUT THEN--- we entered, sauntered towards the back, and snagged a table, and I WAS SOLD. An incredible selection of beer and bar bites with a chill vibe and a fabulous, knowledgeable staff....what more could you want? I started exploring craft beers this summer, and I don't think I'll ever drink another Miller Lite in my life - I'm a bit of a snob now, and Bottle Bar has an incredible selection with great prices. Every Thursday, Bottle Bar features a selection of beers from a token brewery. We happened to wander in when several Almanac Beer Co sours were on draft. Had we made Happy Hour, they would have been 1/2 price, but I didn't mind shelling out the $5-7 to try these brews. I also ordered an order of edamame. Their edamame is steamed with PBR and served with butter and chili flakes. My mouth was definitely hot, but my stomach was SoOoO happy. My biggest gripe? NO. FREAKIN'. FLIGHTS. I wanted to try a bunch of different beers, but I'm a light weight. I lucked out, because my friend ordered two different beers and graciously shared, but if I had come alone, I would have had to choose only one. It's a little silly to me honestly. It'd be easy to add smaller pours or flights. Safe to say I'll be back, and next time I'll come hungry, because that food looked BOMB.

Yelp
Shitty (probably one off) experience... Went here for dinner and drinks. We were initially very excited because the menu looks DANK. Lots of food options, good prices and wonderful happy hour/day specials. However we ended up staying for 10 mins ordered 1 beer, cancelled the other and left. All because of shitty customer service. The waiter came by and asked for our drink order. My friend asked the waiter 2 questions. If they had red stripe and if he could help recommend a cocktail for her. He responded with yes to the red stripe but "he has 25 tables to take care of can't spend time recommending drinks. He recommends she go inside and pick one". Well, she just had ACL surgery so walking was difficult. She told him that and to forget the cocktail and just get the red stripe. To which he responded "well I have to go look for that too..." Just a rude interaction... and the place was not packed nor did we count anywhere close to 25 tables for him. Probably over worked, or not a good day but this dude sucked. We ended up going to Front Street Cafe across the street. Asked the exact same questions because we were petty... their waitress was super sweet and ended up bringing tastings. Same night, same questions but drastically different experiences.

Yelp
Disclaimer : this post is only based on delivery during covid 19* This was my first time having any interaction with BBE and using their delivery service. Their paid ads on insta is what sold me at at the right time so good job to their marketing team. I ordered a new permanent item, the BBE Burrito with Chicken. It came with their own salsa and sour cream. It was a pretty good burrito and I appreciate the effort, although the chicken was a little dry and rice was overcooked, although still could taste the flavor they were going for. Nicely grilled, which is always nice to see on a burrito. Presentation : 5/5 Taste : 3.5/5 I also got the fries as a side which Hit. The. Spot. They have that perfect crisp, fried perfectly, and served with ketchup and an aioli. Their aioli complimented so nicely. There was also PLENTY of fries for $6. Presentation : 5/5 Taste : 5/5

Yelp
I have been wanting to come for happy hour for months and finally did last night. As you enter it is a beer store that seems to have unlimited amounts of all types of beers. There is bar and table seating on the first floor, but we sat upstairs. Upstairs there were a few tables and even a foos ball table and a bathroom. The menu was awesome! I loved how it had the double bottle to identify what was on happy hour. Their $6 cocktails & half off appetizers (hummus, nachos, onion wings) was a great selection. We both went for a margarita and it was amazing. For our appetizer we did the nachos- it said it was beer cheese which I was unsure about but it ended up to be amazing. A lot smaller portion than I would have thought for originally $7 but it was enough for 2 people. Our waitress came back right before happy hour ended to add anything else we wanted on the deal, which is great service. We went with 2 more margaritas, fried cauliflower wings, and steak empanada. Our second round of margaritas were not good- very sour with a lot of lime mix. It is rare I decline a drink, but this time I had to. I was not impressed with the way our waitress handled this change, she seemed very annoyed with a straight face. When we got the drinks back, it was clear all that happened was a change of glass and a lot more agave syrup. Disappointing. The steak empanadas were amazing! However, in the fried cauliflower wings- there was an onion ring. (See picture) it was okay... but the kitchen needs to be more aware of putting this on someone's entree. The buffalo sauce was not specified as how spicy it truly was. Overall, I hope to be back! I would really like to check out an eagles game and the outdoor patio.

Yelp
Bottle Bar is a short walk from my house and I enjoy stopping in for both food and beers. I really like to bring my friends from out of town here because the selection is so large and its easy to have a good conversation. I usually get a grilled cheese, which is good but its pretty hard to mess that up. I have also had the wings and the mac and cheese. All have been good. My favorite part is that I can browse the beers at my own pace. I'm sometimes indecisive which is a bartenders nightmare especially when they are busy. I can look and read descriptions without holding anyone else up. Beers are a little pricey though.

Yelp
Love this place and couldn't recommend it more. An extremely welcoming staff, Welcomed our Isles meet-up group with open arms during the playoffs. Every staff member was great. Also, great food and great beer selection! We'll be back!

Yelp
I feel like everyone forgets this place has food. At least within my friends group. The grilled pear sandwich is awesome. I've only been there twice and I keep getting the same thing. Hopefully next time I can break the mold! It's a bit narrow and not a lot of seating. I hear there is a backyard but I've never scoped it out I'll have to update when I go back there. Also Robocop was playing on the TV.

Yelp
I'm trying to think of an appropriate way to describe my feelings about Bottle Bar without sounding nutty. But, well...It's like this: I LOVE Bottle Bar. Like, a lot. Like, if I'm in Fishtown, I stop in without fail. But also, I'm not in Fishtown that often so that's overall a general positive for my liver, wallet and refrigerator space. Their selection is immense and overwhelming. I always feel like I'm in a hoppy library when I visit. And let's not forget their bar section in the back. You're sure to find something fantastic pouring at any given time. That's basically all I have to say. Will be back. [OH HEY, REVIEW 700!]

Yelp
I always come here for take out beers, and the convenience is great. Yesterday I tried the food for the first time. The $10 lunch special is awesome- you can grab a sandwich and a pint. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich and really enjoyed it. The cranberries and alfalfa sprouts were a nice touch. My dining partner ordered the Philly Cubano which was amazing- when I go back I'm definitely ordering that. The bacon really elevated the sandwich. Dare: Mix-your-own 6 pack before you leave and include a Habanero Sculpin Ballast Point. SO spicy yet I ended up drinking the whole bottle.

Yelp
If the beer doesn't blow you away, the food will. In my opinion, this is THE bottle shop of Philly. I can always count on finding good brews and eating good food. The refrigeration takes up a large portion of the first floor, leaving room for 5-6 tables along the wall, 3 tables in between the bar and the stairs leading to the 2nd floor, and a 15-seater bar. They recently opened the back patio but obviously you'll get out there when weather permits. I can guarantee there is no good day or time to come here. The volume varies. I will say, it's rare that you will find this place empty. I always take a peak at the bottle selection but it's so hard to choose. When that fails, employ plan #2; the draft list. Seeing as I was a bit glutinous from a previous venture, I settled for one beer as opposed to the 4-5 I usually indulge in. Oh, I did manage to down a shot of Espolon. One of the specials featured Hot Honey Ginger Wings. Ultimately, finger-licking good. I can't express the love I have for this place. I continue to take people here as well as meet some cool Untappers. You won't be disappointed!

Yelp
Take a Foodery style bottle shop, give it a laid back bar in the back with a street art decor and amicable list of specialty shots and craft beers, and add in a delectable bar food menu with plenty of vegan options; and you have yourself an amicable bar concept that probably should have happened awhile ago! And despite a few new bar kinks that still exist, that's the winning menu that made Bottle Bar East such a winner for me when I checked it out before and after the last Elite event. And Fishtown is the perfect place to pay host to such a beer haven, especially once you factor in the fact that it isn't that far from Johnny Brenda's and Frankford Hall. Being so enamored by the few varieties of brews that I haven't tried on the short list of rotating drafts meant that I didn't have the chance to fully check out the hundreds upon hundreds of bottled beers that their many coolers had to offer (especially when meeting Michael K. there before the event meant that I was able to take part in their impressive Happy Hour special. score!). But I was definitely impressed with the many quick glances I took, and the suggestions that the bartenders were able to give upon request and mention of preferred style. Being famished after the event also meant that I had to grab a bite to eat, and their delicious sounding selection of veggie and vegan offerings made me stear clear of the usual chicken wings or shellfish order that I usually make to test out a bar. And the portabello mushrooms, collard greens, and hummus inside their vegan wrap made me smile inside; especially since it came with watermelon on the side as opposed to the usual chips or fries. But with thing liked littleneck clams, a Philly style Cubano, goat cheese stuffed peppadews, and a brisket sandwiched between a toasted pretzel there's definitely something for everyone.

Yelp
I have heard a lot of good things about this place but being that I'm not much of a beer drinker, I wasn't exactly clamoring to try it out. Last night, this was the last stop on the line for a group of us, all whom except for me, were big beer drinkers. I was down, though! Walking in, it appeared like a beer convenience store with the bar to the back. My husband advised me to pick something from the cooler and wow, what a selection! There literally seemed to be something for everyone, including me! I am a fan of Rekorderlig cider and saw that I hadn't tried any of the 3 flavors they had. I opted for the strawberry-lime can which was $5. You bring it to the bartender who will open it and ring you up from behind the bar. In addition to what you pick from the cooler, you can order drinks from the bar. Our group all had different things but at the end of the night, my husband decided to try the 15% abv beer ($12 for 8 oz). He and I both actually liked it! It reminded us of a non-alcoholic malt beverage popular in the Hispanic culture called malta. The vibe here was super cool and I'd like to come back.....for that 15% abv beer. *insert evil laugh*

Yelp
I really enjoyed my visit to BBE. The beer selection is incredible - possibly the best I have seen in Philly YTD. You walk in and there has to be about 10 beer cases filled with every beer you could ever want. You grab one (or a few) and take them back to your table where your server will open it and pour it in a glass for you. The food also did not disappoint. We came in around 10pm on a Friday and the servers were so nice and did not rush us even though we were the only table sitting outside. This a must if you're a beer nerd, like I am!

Yelp
I love Bottle Bar in fishtown. They have a small menu but all of the food is extremely good. Of course the drink menu is always fresh and unique as well! I definitely recommend this place to anyone in the neighborhood

Yelp
I only discovered this place a few months and it has become one of my favorite places to visit. The food has always been great. The beer selection has been even better! All of the staff have been fantastic to my friends and I. It doesn't matter who's working that day, they are all awesome. Special thanks to Mike, Cooper, Josh, Jake, Colin and the two wonderful ladies Alyssa(sp?) and Andrea. They are the best!

Yelp
I've been dying to try this place every since they followed me on Instagram (thanks guys!). We got there around 7:30 which was perfect because the happy hour crew was just heading out. We easily got a table on the first floor. They had way more beers on tap than I expected. I got Hydra Lilith beer which was very good. Wednesday's are half off burgers so I got the traditional burger. I knew their pictures looked amazing on instagram but I really wasn't expecting it to taste that amazing. The burger was cooked to perfection and the bun was so soft. The only downside was that it was a little messy to eat but it was so worth it. The fries were also delicious. We didn't get to stay that long as we were headed to a show but the time we did spend there was awesome. I will definitely be back here (they have specials constantly!) and I would recommend others to try it out.

Yelp
I've come to BBE quite a few times for happy hours and occasionally for dinner. I just recently went for dinner and my card was charged for a ten dollar tip that I did not make. My friend who I was splitting the bill with covered my tip on her card because she spent more money than me, but my card was still charged an extra ten. Also, whenever I come for happy hour and the bartender with the shoulder length black hair is working, it's extremely uncomfortable in there. Every single time he makes his customers sit at the bar if there's space because he says he's the only one working right now, which is fine but none of the other bartenders do that and it's never busy when we're there for happy hour. He also got legitimately mad once when I changed the music on TouchTunes with my phone and asked who changed the music because he was listening to his own playlist.

Yelp
This place never misses. Good food good drinks, chill staff. It's a very laidback atmosphere and overall a dope spot. Bartenders are so rad! The service here is amazing and definitely a go to spot regularly.

Yelp
11-18-18. Myself and a group of friends just walked into the bar. The man at the door insisted that one of my friends would not be served alcohol but could freely purchase alcohol to take home because she was "visibly drinking". It's a bar. Naturally, people go to the bar to have drinks. Yet he singled her out an caused a commotion for absolutely no reason. So we collectively left the bar. It was pure sexism and we will never step foot in this bar again. Business permanently lost

Yelp
Love their nachos and chicken tenders! I stick to basic bar food here ... They also do a great little margarita. Service can be hit or miss.

Yelp
It's a great bottle bar. The bartender was great. The sever was pretty and efficient. And the food was good. If I was under 30 it be a spot for me. But I'm 57 so.... I had the Cuban sandwich which was good but the homemade pickles despite being good are not the right kind of pickles. I'm being a Cuban sandwich snob!! My buddies both had burgers and loved them. Sandwich come with fries or salad . This looks like a meh review but it's worth a trip. It's not pretty but I liked it.

Yelp
Just ordered from caviar. Tacos and fries both burned, and order was 30 mins later than quote. Can't imagine the overcooked food is delivery drivers fault. This is literally a ten minute walk from my house. Maybe less. Great beer selection. Food is typically fine in house. But this is inedible. Havn't eaten all night was just looking for a decent taco when I got home.. and just gross. Eating crackers. Threw it away.

Yelp
The Bottle Bar East is TERRIBLE. The food is overcooked and the Bartenders don't know Gin from Vodka. My Bartender couldn't add. And her makeup was all over her face. Her disheveled clothes and physical presentation just screams "idgaf". It says something about the management that they'd hire Bartenders like this. The thin Female bartender is only slightly better. But I she had a strange odor....it was like she uses perfume but doesn't bathe. Don't waste your time and money here. There is Plenty of other spots in Fishtown.

Yelp
Quite possibly the best mac and cheese I've ever had in my entire life. Add the pork belly, and get ready for an amazingly delicious time! I get all my beer and wine from because it's so close to my house, but the one thing I stay away from is simply drinking there. For some reason this place attracts some of the most chauvinistic men I've seen outside of the mid-west. I watched a guy throw his receipt into the bar tenders cleavage. What is this? 1950? That being said, part of the blame is on the male staff there that allow this type of behavior. This place would get 5-stars if it wasn't for that. The drinks are great! The food is great! Just get those man children out of your scene and you've got a grade-A place!

Yelp
Love this shop. It looks small from the front but goes farrrr back into a full blown restaurant. I usually come here to oogle the bottle selection ($$$) which is large. The store clerks are usually pretty helpful and are great at navigating the large collection. They have always made a good recommendation. I have bought bottles here before but now I try to stick to buying in New Jersey and Delaware when I am in town. They have a great tap selection but I have never ordered a beer here (I was tempted to this past weekend though). I need to make an effort to grab a beer and food here sometime cause it does look good.

Yelp
Bottle Bar East is known for its great selection of beer, but their food is worth the visit as well. Their General Tso's fried cauliflower tacos are delicious; an entree comes with three tacos filled with perfectly fried and seasoned cauliflower on a bed of rice. Top it off with sriracha for some extra spice! On Taco Tuesdays, all tacos (there are three varieties in total) are half price, so stop in for a cold drink and a good meal!

Yelp
First time here last night. Stopped in to grab a bite and a beer before a show at Johnny Brenda's. A bit of a dark space, long and narrow with the left side just a huge cooler of cans and bottles, with more bottles on the right hand side after the cashier. 8pm on a Sunday and the place was at least half full, so we were able to grab a table right away. Our server was over promptly with water and explained the specials (1/2 priced grilled cheese) and had our beers quickly. Not the friendliest of souls, but we were taken care of without any smiles, or conversation, which is fine by me. Took advantage of that 1/2 off grilled cheese special (added caramelized onions and roasted red peppers) with a cup of tomato soup. Everything came out piping hot and delicious. Gobbled it up, finished my beer, paid and out the door. I'd gladly make this a stop in the future. Just maybe a different server and the experience would be a tad different. Still solid.

Yelp
I like this place a lot. The beer selection is incredible, and the menu (though limited) always delivers. The only thing I would like to see is an upgrade to the outdoor seating area. It kind of feels like a college bar out there which is a shame because it's a great space.

Yelp
This is my favorite place! I'm here at least once a week. Love the creative selection of beers and awesome bar food.

Yelp
Cool concept, basically they have a bunch of refrigerators with everything from craft beer to ciders to PBR. It is pretty much self serve. You just grab the beer you want and the waitress will open it for you. They have a huge TV that's great for watching games. Small upstairs seating as well. They do serve good food too. It's a cool place to have a couple beers, probably not a place you would spend all night Update: Came back for taco Tuesday and WOW. The food here is very very good. Half off tacos on Tuesday. I had the Korean Pork tacos and they were amazing. Between the food and beer selection, this place is great!

Yelp
As long as you're a fan of quality beer, you'll have a good time here. Long narrow bar with coolers lining almost the whole left side. Inside these coolers is one of the best beer selections in the city. Local beers, imports, rare microbrews all served in single cans or bottles for you to pick from. The bar also has a nice selection on tap and serves cocktails. The food menu is very small but is frequently updated with items above and beyond your standard barfare. Low key, great hangout bar.
