The Best Champagne to Buy | Eater

"A near-ubiquitous, global product whose entry-level "Yellow Label" is made to a precise, unvarying formula: reserve wines from the house’s vast collection are blended into the bottling to ensure consistency. The cuvée receives 10 grams per liter of dosage and is composed of grapes from more than 60 parcels across Champagne. Market penetration is enormous — the parent group moves roughly 1.5 million cases of the brand each year, with about 400,000 sold into the U.S., a considerable majority of which is Yellow Label — making it, in the author’s words, comparable to mainstream global brands. Price can vary widely by retailer (reported between about $39 and close to $60), and while there may be more interesting wines for the money, the piece emphasizes that "there is no other wine that tastes quite like it," so it remains a defensible and reliable choice if it’s what’s available or what you prefer." - Jordan Michelman

Google
5 star service!! The most personable, knowledgeable, and helpful staff of any liquor store I have ever been to. I travel out of my way to come here. Their selection is massive, the store is always super clean, tidy, and bright, and their wine tasting cellar is so unique and fun!! They also have a great variety of bar items to pair your spirits with, as seen in my pictures, I got some stemmed plastic wine glasses to take on the boat/beach :)

Sarah D'Annibale

Google
Best prices anywhere. Super decent selection. Not a lot of mixers so don't expect that but pretty much anything else you need as far as liquor goes they have. Decent wine selection but not extensive.

Zachary Thompson

Google
Great prices and very clean! Love that they let you taste test the wine!

Google
What a great selection of wines bourbon's, and booze. But most of all was the help we got from Chris, he spent time showing us many wines with their different grapes and regions of the world, including rums and tequilas too. He shared his opinion on flavors, body, qualities, etc. We learned how the store is actually set up so wines are displayed in these groupings! His patience and knowledge was incredible! It allowed us to purchase so much more with his guidance. Not to mention this place has so many items set up for tasting, gives you the chance to try without waiting, a huge advantage imo. Don't forget to see Chris... Lucky for us a lovely lady(Marie) was sampling some wines from Spain and Portugal, gave us a chance to try and buy something we would have passed up for sure. Even the checkout person (Eileen) was a pleasure. obtw, their special "buy one get one for a $1." Is too good to be true, but it is.

Google
Pretty awesome selection and it’s nice having such a robust place close to home as opposed to driving to Total Wine on westbury. Loving the options for Irish creams and well, wish I found this place sooner but no looking back now.

Seb Gillen

Google
Huge selection, very good prices. Friendly and knowledgable staff with lots of options available for tasting. Wine and liqours only, no beers etc.

Shannee Gilliland

Google
The staff here is incredible, always so nice and knowledgeable. Great selection and ever bigger discounts with their member rewards card ! My favorite liqour stop in Huntington!

Tom Pekar

Google
Super friendly and knowledgeable and Priceed right in the ballpark

Yelp
DEEPLY DISCOUNTED PRICES!!! The selection is amazing . I have taken the liberty of checking out prices throughout Long Island and you can't beat this place . Great assistance inside . And there is always a tasting available. They have a large parking lot and do online pickup. Rewards programs too ! The cashiers are always kind and helpful.

Yelp
Overall, Bottles and Cases is an excellent liquor store, I use their delivery service and visit the store. My suggestion is to make redeeming bottle bucks easier. If there are bottle bucks on my account, and I ask please just apply them. If I can see them on my online account the cashier should be able to see them as well. Thank you.
google avatar

Tony D.

Yelp
The delivery service is excellent and the delivery staff are outstanding---polite, courteous, and professional. Well done hiring manager of that crew! And Chris---you're a star.
google avatar

Yelp
5 stars for John at Bottles and Cases!! He taught me about the difference between cognac and brandy which was fascinating! We also talked about savvy on Blanc and Chardonnay. Then he carried my bottles out to the car. He's a very valuable employee and he should get a raise!! Lol
google avatar

Yelp
Great spot in Huntington for liquor and wine. Prices are arguably the cheapest in the area! There's a wine tasting section in the back of the store which is really cool. The parking lot is a hot mess. Making a left turn onto 25a is nearly impossible at certain times. One or two soccer mom's can really turn this parking lot into a mess. I usually drive by 4-5 liquor stores to get to bottles and cases because it's worth the drive. This will remain my go to liquor and wine store.

Yelp
Love this place. Been shopping here for over 10 years. Selection and customer service are on point. I finally wrote a review because I appreciate their policy on following the new mask guidance. Nice to shop without a mask. Will be returning.
google avatar

Sally J.

Yelp
Horribly rude staff .. go to sea holm liquors or Huntington wine cellar or ANYWHERE else where you are welcomed as a regular customer and might actually get a smile .

john s.

Yelp
Very disappointed with this place. I shop here weekly and spend A LOT of money here. I went in today and asked for two empty boxes I needed to transport some liquor I had purchased in the past. I was told no they can't give me two empty boxes. I politely asked for the manager and he said the same thing even after I explained I was a regular customer for years. I guess I can take my business elsewhere. Plenty of choices.
google avatar

Richard R.

Yelp
Always a good experience here with outstanding selections of wines and spirits and great pricing. I particularly appreciate the variety of Long Island wines they carry since I think we Long Islanders should support the local farmers and wine making community. Whether it is your daily go-to wine for everyday drinking or a special occasion they've got several choices to pick from.
google avatar

J D.

Yelp
Bottle and cases is closed. Leaving their customers to find an alternate store. Not sure why I would return. I am now loyal to Greenlawn Plaza Wines & Liquors.
google avatar

Franco C.

Yelp
Bottles of hooch at really decent prices. I love this place - it is similar to Bottle Buys over in Glen Cove - in that they have extremely decent prices on your everyday drinking favorites. The only drawback is that they have what they have unlike your neighborhood liquor store who has 25 varieties of vodka etc. The place gets absolutely packed out around the holidays, as expected. The line moves quickly and they get you on your way in relatively short fashion. Big parking area off to the side
google avatar

Petri L.

Yelp
I have been going here for years always thinking their prices are inflated. Tonight's experience makes seeped the deal and made me give up my membership and seek alternatives. A Chilean Santa Isle Cabernet Sauvignon was $14 when the national average is $7.47. New York has higher taxes and greater costs but a 100% mark up over national average is close to extortion! Goodbye Bottles and Cases!!
google avatar

Anthony G.

Yelp
Been coming to this Huntington wine and liquor warehouse for a while now and always find some good bargains on wines from around the globe. They often offer free tastings to help you if you're undecided. They also have a good selection of liquor and spirits as well for decent prices. The staff isn't always that helpful which my only peeve. A very good place to come for liquor and recommended.
google avatar

Harambe T.

Yelp
I like their ceiling. Many beams to swing around on and people on funny machines that check up on you often. 4 stars because they don't have any indoor trees
google avatar

Maria B.

Yelp
I miss you Bottles & Cases!!! They had a decent wine selection. Great prices!! If only you were in Queens...
google avatar

Randy E.

Yelp
Bottles & Cases offers an unmatched variety of wine and liquor at excellent prices. They offer everything from your well known labels of vino and liquor down to a great selection of rare wines and a featured selection of Long Island vineyards. This large store located on 25A right outside of Huntington Village provides ample parking, a neat and clean appearance and a friendly and helpful staff. Be sure to visit Bottles & Cases on the weekend as they have regular tastings at their bar in the back of the store (See Photos.) These tastings are of not only wine, but liquor and mixed drinks, providing great cocktail ideas!
google avatar

Max W.

Yelp
Definitely the best liquor store I've ever been to. It is essentially the Costco of liquor. You walk in and there is generally a tasting of some sort at the entrance. I've seen whiskey, tequila and wine many times being sampled. They also offer wine and vodka tastings in the back for a featured brand they are offering. There are aisles that tell you what's offered in each, which helps a lot because it can get overwhelming to find anything with the amount they offer. They have not only every type of liquor, but tens of different brands of each. You can always ask a staff member what they prefer and they will give you an honest and informative answer. Everything is also very reasonably priced, and if you are a bottles and cases member, you get discounted further. I would definitely recommend to anyone to stop by and open up a membership, you get emailed with discounts and you can really explore different brands and liquor you might not have considered.

Sara B.

Yelp
Can't believe I need an ID to purchase a gift card. If I were to be purchasing alcohol than it would be necessary for my ID. This was a gift for someone who lives over here and I'm almost an hour away. Man was very rude as well and wouldn't work with me. He lied and said 7 different things. Never going here terrible customer service. Girl was being rude too. $30 lost for them

Kenn H.

Yelp
I AM DEFINITELY A FAN OF THIS STORE. The assortment is great. I had a special request and it was promptly filled. The help is friendly and cooperative.
google avatar

Electa T.

Yelp
This place is great, it's clean and bright and reasonably priced. They have some of my favs and some new favs I love that they have free samples and have discovered quite a few new things. The women working the sample station is a sweetheart and might be my new favorite person. I recommend it, since finding it I haven't been to any other liquor stores.
google avatar

Drew A.

Yelp
Best liquor store in the area, for sure. I'm all about supporting the mom and pop shops and paying a couple bucks extra, but sometimes you need to be wowed by the awesomeness of B&C. Here's why they are 5 staaaaa... -Frequent Tastings -Large selection of liquors, vinos and mixers -Always clean -Great staff -Solid pricing (rebates too!) -Vino discount bin (don't judge) -Lots of check out lanes -Easy in/out with their new location Sure there's a closer liquor store to your house, but it's worth checking out when you want to stare at 30 different kinds of vodka or need to pick up quantities of sauce for a party. Thanks for making booze shopping fun B&C!
google avatar

Samantha S.

Yelp
Great stop if you are buying wine in bulk for a party or event. They have bins with $5 wines and more in the aisles under $13. The wines you will find here are brands you will recognize, ones that are commonly found in restaurants. They do have a small selection of finer wines but if you are shopping for a unique bottle, go elsewhere. They have tastings often and a plentiful selection of liquor. Make sure you get a Bottles & Cases card because it will save you money, also be careful when pulling out of this parking lot, as the drivers on 25A couldn't care less about how fast they are driving around that bend. Safety first.

Anthony X.

Yelp
Good assortment of wines and liquors. Place is clean and easy to find what your looking for. The staff is friendly and helpful. They have good name brand wines that are hard to find. Moderately priced and reasonable. I go here often for a rare wine and they always have in stock. Look forward to my next trip
google avatar

Michael S.

Yelp
A very upscale looking liquor store with a huge wine selection and even features a wine tasting room. There's plenty of cheap wines and liquors, but also many high-end spirits. If I were to have a night of quality wine drinking, this is the place I'd come to procure that midnight cherry elixir.
google avatar

Michael P.

Yelp
This place is ok, and can provide good prices due to the fact that they buy large quantities of certain things. However as others had said this means your selection is more limited. Gone are the narrow aisles packed with shelves of bottles, this place is large, well lit and has a warehouse store style to it. New York has a law regarding liquor store ownership that basically makes it impossible for chains to develop. So hence the "bottle bargains" down the road that is essentially identical. So this is why almost all liquor stores are small and pretty much single owned. Stores like wegmans are lobbying NYS to get this overturned. I kinda like smaller stores though, and asking people what they recommend etc. So yeah this place is great if you want to stock up on 1.75L bottles of Gin from about 3 different manufacturers or find some good random wine deal, but not good if you want to buy ingredients for a mixed drink, smaller quantites, or a wine you enjoy. I also dislike how they scan your license to get a shoppers card, and prices are high unless you do this. I do not want them to have all my info.
google avatar

Yelp
Will NEVER go back. My 25-year-old fiance left her ID at home, which doesn't matter because I was buying, and I'm 30. The older looking women behind the register jumped down my throat about her store policy which makes NO sense, then threatens me and say "you're on camera" at that point I was done. No ID, no sale, I get it. But denying me because my fiance doesn't have her bag with her? Do you deny all the mothers who and fathers who go in with their children? Do you ID them? Are you going to tell me I can't buy a bottle of wine if I come back in 2 months, because of the time my fiance went in without an ID? Your policy sucks, so do most of your employees. Boycott.

Kimberly H.

Yelp
I have been a customer here for many years.... mostly because of their large selection and somewhat lower prices. I no longer care about either. There are now so many more places in the Huntington area with MUCH better customer service, large selections and just as reasonable prices. Every employee seems to get ruder and ruder as the years go by. They are NOT helpful at all! When you have questions or ask for help, they all act as if you are completely bothering them. It's unacceptable for a business to operate this way, and I will gladly take my money elsewhere!
google avatar

Crystal P.

Yelp
I went here for a specialty bottle of Dom for my future wedding. I've passed by this place tons of times but never went inside and when searching for the Dom I was like why does the name sound familiar? this place is like a huge warehouse of wines! it's so glorious. I can't wait to go back and actually shop.
google avatar

Courtney M.

Yelp
Such a great place to buy all your regular favorites in bulk for a good price or to discover a new favorite. There are frequent tastings held in the store so that you have the opportunity to expand your pallet so discover a new hidden gem. For me it was The Oyster, a Sauvignon Blanc that is VEGAN (this was huge for me) and it just so happens that it helps fund the restoration of NY's oysters (hence the name)....also the bottle is really freaking cute.

D R.

Yelp
I would frequent this establishment many times. I can no longer bring myself to come here. The management and customer service is poor. Very rarely do you get a helping hand or even a smile. Not sure what has changed over last few years but it has gone downhill.
google avatar

Richard T.

Yelp
Bottles and Cases has an shiny new store along the venerable path of 25A on the way to Centerport, NY that literally gleams in the night. Sporting a big parking lot and a well spaced store, this extra clean wine and spirits store has very good service and wide selection. As one patrols into the store there appears to be something missing, which isn't distressing, but it does have an empty feeling to it. Many of it products are exploited wholesaler specials so there is rarely any depth to any product line. For instance, one might find Johnny Walker Black in 1 liter bottles, but no other sizes such as 750ml or 1.5L. This apparently rotates by the month. Still, the store has an good selection as well as a tasting bar in the back. I was thankful for its regular hours this Christmas Eve and I could tell could tell others thought the same way.
google avatar

J M.

Yelp
Stopped in this place with a major case of Déjà Vu. For some reason I thought I was in "bottle values". Place is setup the same, the pricing is the same but my card didn't work here. I guess they are independently owned and operated. Place has great prices, just not a amazing selection.
google avatar

Kelly T.

Yelp
I had passed by this place a couple of times and had been wanting to check it out. I had recently began discovering different wines, since there are an abundance of wine stores on the North Shore. I had been to Long Island Wine and Spirit Merchants in Commack, which has a nice selection, but I'm not a fan of the layout. There is a small wine boutique in Dix Hills called The Wine Shack, which I check out from time to time. However, when I stepped foot in Bottles and Cases, I felt at home. There's usually some sort of wine or liquor tasting when I go there. I discovered a great Chardonnay for 10 bucks! The cheap wine bins in the entrance are definitely something to check out. Recently, I had been interested in trying Bordeauxs, which are a little hard to find, and I found a couple here. None of them I was a fan of but I think I just have a picky palette. There's so much to choose from and its a nice open space that reminds me of a warehouse, in stark contrast to the typical wine store vibe with wood detailing. If you're looking for a great wine or liquor selection with a unique vibe and excellent pricing, check out Bottles and Cases.

Charles C.

Yelp
One of my favorite liquor stores on Long Island. Clean, organized, and reasonable prices. Nuff said.

Yelp
I have never been as offended as I was tonight when I walked into Bottles and Cases. First off, one of the employees walked past the aisle we were on numerous times looking at us suspiciously. I guess it was taking us too long to choose and they thought we were going to steal something. Who knows. After finally choosing a bottle of wine, we went to the register to pay. The employee asked for both our id's. (My husband and I finally got a couple minutes to ourselves without the kids and while running out the door, I forgot my wallet. But hey, my husband has his so I figured I wouldn't need it.) I have never ever been double id'ed to buy liquor in New York so I asked the employee if she was joking. (There were no visible postings stating that this is their policy.) They would not sell us a bottle of wine because we both weren't carrying our id's. I understand if we look like children but we're both well over 30. I will never go near this establishment again. I didn't think they had a great selection of wine even though they're a large store. That's neither here nor there compared to the suspicious and condescending employees.

C. S.

Yelp
Always good prices, staff is helpful and courteous, Very happy to keep on shopping there
google avatar

Steve T.

Yelp
I love this place. Always organized and clean. They give out tastings of wine and liquor sometimes. Prices are good and they e mail coupons on a regular basis. Plenty of people working the registers so usually no wait to check out.
google avatar

Terence L.

Yelp
The wine selection is pretty good (copious but not diverse), although the wine knowledge in the store needs to be considerably improved. I was initially intrigued by their tasting center, where an impressive display of wines are available to sample, but quickly learned not to expect any insights into the wines themselves-it is literally a "tasting," as in, "here's your tasting and what next?" This is an area that could be vastly enhanced-because of its uniqueness-with a sommelier or at least a reasonably apt and friendly employee. We'll hope for the best.
google avatar

Michael F.

Yelp
If you are a lush and love a bargain then get over to bottles and cases(but don't drink and drive!). The staff is helpful and knowledgeable about the vast selection of fine wines and spirits. They have a nice balance of local wines and imports. The real win is the value...it is not unusual to sve 30-40% off of your fave's! The only drawback is since it is a discounter you are never guaranteed to find the same wine twice...but who cares since the staff is all too happy to suggest some other selection.
google avatar

Megan T.

Yelp
This place is great for discounted alcohol. They don't always have everything that you're looking for but really you can't complain when you see the prices.

Aisela T.

Yelp
Thank you Bottles and Cases for carrying a Cab I just about couldn't find anywhere else and for a very reasonable price! Considering I bought two bottles and had them shipped to the west coast, the cost of shipping wasn't that bad. I paid $24 for shipping via UPS ground and got my order within a week. The two other and only websites I found sold the wine were demanding as much as 3x the cost, NOT including shipping.... There IS NO competition here.
google avatar

Augie P.

Yelp
Great place, staff always helpful for the wine novice. HUGE displays of wine and liquors at really reasonable prices. Whenever I'm in Huntington this is a must do to stock up.
google avatar

Christina S.

Yelp
Came in here yesterday just for some cooking wine--ended up with 2 bottles of wine(plus my cooking) and a bottle of vodka! Haha! There were taste testings for the wine I chose and also for the vodka I had picked up. If it weren't for the taste testing I would have never discovered this new drink! The vodka is called Top Brass White Chocolate Almond--80 proof. Mix with pomegranate juice...YUM! If you are in the area you should check this place out!
google avatar

BabaBooey D.

Yelp
Best liquor store I've been too. Although they could have a larger selection for some liquors, the prices are extremely reasonable, especially when compared to surrounding liquor stores.

Charlie R.

Yelp
I went in with my son the other day when it came to pay they told me i couldnt purchase my drink because i had someone under age. I told them he was my son. Bring anyone underage no alcohol. Terrible service

Bill F.

Yelp
Avoid! Just traveled an hour to get a promoted wine. They ran out! Only had 10 cases!!! What crap! The help there is also clueless about customer service... Had the nerve to say "Enjoy" after not being able to deliver on a promoted special... Never coming back.
google avatar

Allen T.

Yelp
Very good selection of hard spirits and inexpensive wines; selection lacking in better wines - such as those in the $50-$100 range.

A M.

Yelp
Mediocre prices and selection. They collect private information without disclosure. I won't return.

Paul S.

Yelp
After going back several times to Bottles and Cases, I have decided that I like the wine selections and, of course, the prices. Still not happy to see wine stored standing up, though!
