Yelp
"A+ Service, A+ Food."
Now I remember why I live in California. This is definitely one of my favorite restaurants / taprooms in the Bay Area. They have a beautiful outside dining area, covered with plenty of umbrellas. So if you're afraid of getting burned, don't worry about it.
Of course, after the Covid crisis is over, they have an expansive inside dining area.
They have the "specials" menu prominently displayed at the entrance to the patio. My wife ordered the watermelon salad, with chicken topping. It includes noodles, watermelon, radishes, lettuce, cheese, and a light dressing. My wife reports this was "Very tasty."
I ordered a Chicken Caesar wrap. It's a little like a panini sandwich, grilled, served with either soup or salad. Like many other dishes, this is a generous portion, so just half the sandwich was enough for me. On a warm summer afternoon, the wrap makes for a nice light dish.
Don't forget to try the beer cheese chowder. It's on the rich side, so a small portion is just right.
Just when I thought there wasn't anything better, my wife ordered the strawberry roulade. It's a light sponge cake with fresh strawberries and whipped cream, dusted with powdered sugar. I cannot describe this desert without fainting. I tried to steal it from my wife, but she caught me trying to slide it across the table.
Here's the rest of the story:
The best reason to come here is the sterling service. On several visits I had the good fortune of having Gabi as my server. Absolutely A+ professional service. Gabi obviously lives her job.
When was the last time you had a server who clearly loves her job? I have no idea how this restaurant is able to have such a fantastic server.
Gabi had some excellent suggestions for beer, and I ordered the kolsch. Great light beer, which paired well with my Caesar wrap.
Sitting on the patio sipping a cold kolsch. I almost drifted off to sleep.
It doesn't get any better than this folks: Great meal with a light beer, sitting on a beautiful patio on a warm California day. Sorry, Texans, That's why I live in California.
