Shockoe Bottom original known for hefty, saucy pies and playful toppings. A Richmond Magazine pizza guide has long highlighted its slow‑roasted tomato technique, and current booking platforms confirm continued service and hours.

Great lunch spot. The pizza was incredibly delicious. Service was a little slow but acceptable. Ill be back for sure!! Parking can be challenging too so circling the block for street parking is recommended. The flood line is cool to see inside too.

- Very large portions. A slice here is equivalent to 2 slices in most other pizza places. - Friendly bartender/staff. They offered good recommendations and knowledgeable about the menu. - Clean environment and a good variety of beer options.

I enjoy a good pizza and if there is a good beer to pair then I am a happy Paratrooper. If you are like me then make the trip or have delivered a pizza to your friends and family. Very good pizza and the crust was among the best on the east coast. The gluten free pizza was delicious. Prices were reasonable. Very friendly staff. Enjoy.

We stopped in for dinner tonight. This was my first experience here, I love the lay out of the restaurant and the service was good, we got the Karen pizza , and let me just be a Karen unfortunately the pizza was an absolute miss. The toppings were fresh and the flavor wasn’t bad. However the crust was something out of a deep freezer, plain taste , no seasoning on that. I think a frozen pizza would be equally as mediocre. I’ll give them another shot and maybe order a burger but for now it’s a hard no

I don't know if it's living in tidewater where every business treats you like a mark and a boat payment but when I got the bill at bottoms up for a large pizza, fries, drinks , and a flight of margaritas, and it was only $40; I thought there was mistake. We were like, "did they miss something?" It's "no," just reasonable prices for great stuff. I need to move. This might be more of a review of tidewater than of bottoms up but seriously... They're just opportunistic profiteers around here who take you for whatever they think they can get without tying price to value. Richmond is different and bottoms up proves it.

It was a great experience with my daughter and husband! I took her upstairs and it sparked a memory ,she was like omg I came here after our 6th grade field trip… that was pretty awesome , also remembered the table and seat she sat in ! Now she is about to go to college and I’m going to miss her … I enjoy the memories…

I met Troy, who is a very nice gentleman! I shared with him how that I had been a loyal customer for over 20 years due to being a Train Conductor for CSX and riding past the restaurant one night on the trellis. It was determined that the person who had first mentioned Bottoms Up Pizza to me was the Uncle of Troy. Sharing a few laughs, we both were able to celebrate the life of such a great man who had passed not long ago. I'm forever grateful for the opportunity to meet Troy at what is undoubtedly the BEST pizza restaurant in America!! Thanks again!!

Google
The appetizer course of Gouda bites and cheesy bread was awesome. Pizza’s are definitely shareable. Beer selection was great. And the service from Georgia was perfect. Not too many touch points but not too little either. The atmosphere was homie kind of like a local bar. Was one of the few places that were kid friendly after 9PM.

Yelp
My husband has been looking for "good" pizza for a while now. He searched online and found Bottoms Up, ranked highest in Richmond. BU did not disappoint- sourdough crust is crisp, fluffy and tender, sauce is not too sweet but savory, toppings and cheese were ample. Cool vibe and excellent service. We will be back and being friends!

Yelp
Bottoms Up is a Richmond classic located in Shockoe Bottom. There are plenty of street and parking lot options. If you park in the Main Street Parking lot they will deduct two hours from your bill. They describe their pizza as not Chicago or New York but Richmond-style pizza. Recently I went to Bottoms Up Pizza for my brother's birthday with the family. We of course started with the Cheesy Bread Tracks. They are a must and are delicious - a definite try. We then had Meat Master and Karen Combo for our pizza options. This place has a ton of different options, seafood, and white pizzas. It had been years since my last visit but they did not disappoint. So, if you haven't checked them out add it to your to-do list, or if it's been a minute swing by and take a trip down memory lane. Either way, I think you will enjoy this Richmond-style pizza.

Yelp
The mold was growing from the surface of the cheesecake, it wasn't growing on a plastic before the food was put in the container. I appreciate your attempt at deflecting but it is what it is. I bumped up to 2 stars for not ignoring my concern. Thank you. I believe that customers should receive "star treatment". What does this mean? It means: If a famous celebrity were to walk into a business they would receive star treatment, ie; they will never have a bad first experience. This should extend to everyone, all of the time. If a business cannot offer this without exception, they should revisit their strategy. There will be times when a customer cannot simply walk back inside or take the time to make phone calls or send emails over a $10 item. Due to this principle, it is often difficult to remedy or change an opinion after the fact, because the opinion is of the first impression and not of the ability to fix problems that could have been avoided. In an era where food costs have sky rocketed, the commitment to service must acclimate accordingly.

Yelp
Pizza was really good. They have two floors of seating and it's very spacious. They can accommodate large groups. I was in a party of around 20 and we sat comfortably. Waitress was friendly and personable--had a positive experience and would go again.

Yelp
We decided to check out Bottoms up for lunch one day and were pleasantly surprised. They had a lunch special: a slice of cheese pizza is only 5 bucks!!! One slice of pizza can easily be shared by two people. We joked about the slices being bigger than our face. This is definitely a great place to try if you love pizza and have an appetite. The crust here is pretty good. I really enjoyed the googynesss of the cheese. And the garlicky flavor profile of the pizza. The pizza needed more sauce. The pizza to sauce ratio was off leaving the pizza to taste a little dry.

Yelp
One of my favorite spots in the heart of the city. Great food and amazing views. Grab a group of friends and enjoy the patio or walk in for lunch. they always have amazing daily specials and a staff ready to service. The nachos are humongous and my personal favorite in town, love is in the chili.

Great service on this cold day. Always in the mood for a slice of Bottom's Up Chesapeake pizza.

Yelp
A staple in RVA. Unique pizzas and a fun and quirky vibe . They are usually really busy but always have had good service.

Yelp
I have ordered from this place on several occasions but have never eaten inside until now. What seems to be a hole-in-the-wall joint is cool--small, quaint, dining area with a full bar. The staff is very nice from the moment you walk in the door. In the past, I have enjoyed the Shrimp & Crab Alfredo pasta and different versions of pizza, and they were all delicious. The menu has several options available, so I went with the cheeseburger. Pretty good. Good size, flavor, and a good portion of fries. I will visit more often.

Yelp
It's not your traditional pizza. Not that there is a "Richmond-style" pizza. Let's just say that Bottoms Up is unique for Richmond. My most recent visit was consistent with previous ones. The service is good, but the kitchen a little slow. The pizzas, as described elsewhere, are bready but with generous toppings. I had a slice of the Meat Master (topped with ground beef, Italian sausage, ham, and pepperoni) and it made a tremendous lunch. I hope to return soon for after-work, to enjoy a leisurely pizza feast and a few adult beverages.

Suellen C.

Yelp
My husband and I haven't eaten at Bottoms up for several years. We just don't come downtown much. We went to the home show and thought it would be nice to go since it is one of our favorites. What a disappointment. Bad service, warm pizza not cooked well.

Yelp
Best pizza in RVA! This pizza checks all the right boxes. Crisp crust and undercarriage with a pillowy soft dough. The sauce is bright with bits of basil throughout. The meats are seasoned and plentiful and the veggies are so fresh tasting!

Yelp
I'm here for a work conference and wanted to order delivery after a long day. The delivery took over 1 hour and The food clearly from the picture is absolutely disgusting. It was delivered cold and with barely any toppings or cheese. It literally taste just like store bought frozen pizza. I would not recommend eating here. The worst part is Kristen the manager was rude when i called and asked for them to remake the pizza or could i order something else to be delivered. She was yelling telling me she would not send me anything else and would not send another delivery driver to the hotel per policy and would just refund me but refused to replace the order even though i'm 5 minutes away. I asked could she just put the money to another delivery and she then came to her senses telling me she never even thought of that. I just said refund it because there was so much confusion it was sad. I asked for the general manager's name and email which is Troy. This was one of the absolute worst experiences I've ever had in my life.

Yelp
The pizza has a very light and crunchy crust if thats your vibe :) their brisket is soo tender and good ! good vibes and will come again!

Yelp
Sister brought me here before dropping me off at RIC. Good gluten free pizza. Only one that didn't spark a hypoglycemia episode. GF crusts are generally glucose nightmares for me (I don't have a stomach and eat GF with my celiac sister). Good service. Hard to find parking. Cool ambiance. Would like to try non GF pizza one day :)

Yelp
The pizza here is my favorite in Richmond. It's consistent too. Tastes the same today as i remember 20 years ago. I usually get the bottoms up loaded and a side salad with house vinaigrette. A fun place to go with an industrial atmosphere.

Yelp
This place has all black chefs. Every food item was seasoned perfectly! The gouda bites were very cheesy and fried to perfection. I love that the cheese pulled as I bit into it. The dough was seasoned well. So you didn't need any dip, but it does come with a marinara type of sauce. And yes the sauce was seasoned too lol nothing bland at this place! I'm a ranch lover so I dipped some in ranch, some in the sauce and some I ate plain. We ate so fast that I forgot to take a pic smh I also ordered the crab pizza (idk the menu name), but I ordered it without onions and lightly cooked. It was also seasoned well and they give you an old bay shaker to sprinkle on top. I'm from MD so I don't usually like other state crab dishes, but this one was the best out of state crab item I've ever had. Of course MD has the best crab pizza, but this one is definitely right behind it. My friend created her own pizza and loved it. Street parking is available. We lucked up with a spot around the corner, but later found out they offer validated parking in a lot or garage somewhere close by. The inside is very outdated. No decor. The place is spacious and has a bar and several levels, including and outdoor section. Service was good. They greet you as you enter and take you to be seated. The waiters answered all of our questions with no problems. The manager was super friendly and offered to take us on a tour when he realized I was not from VA.

Yelp
My wife has been coming here since she was a kid and has always recommend that I try it as well. Today we came in for lunch so that I can try it for the first time. We were driving through and decided to stop by for lunch because the lunch slice special seemed like a good deal. We each ordered a beer and two slices each (1 slice with pepperoni, 1 with sausage, 1 with bacon, and 1 with mushroom). I will admit that the pizza slices were good. However, the problem came when it was time to pay. Our bill ended up coming out to $54 for 2 beers and 4 slices of pizza.... We were charged the full menu price of $10+ for a 1-topping slice. When we were originally ordering, we were ordering from the special page and at no point did the server say that we needed to add another topping in order to qualify for the special price. When I asked the server why we didn't receive the $5.50 slice special price, the server said the special is only if you get 1 meat and 1 veggie topping in your slice. Surely I thought he was joking because why would I pay $10+ for a slice with 1 meat topping, but if I added a veggie as a topping, it would bring the price down to $5.50?!? Please help me make sense of this... Why would it cost a customer less to add more toppings? A manager then came over and when I asked him why they can't honor the special price , the response I got back was "That's above my pay grade" and "That's just the way they wrote it". They refused to change the price and honor the special price, so I ended up paying $15 more because I didn't add a veggie topping to each slice. This the entire situation could've been resolved if the server told us about adding another topping from the begior if they would have honored the special price after I pointed it out.

Yelp
The pizza here is the absolute best! I did just realize the pizza dough has egg in it which for whatever reason took me by surprise and I happen to be allergic. I mean, of course it has egg because the crust is incredible and it's just this fluffy deliciousness. Anyway, I went there this past Friday and had the worst reaction ever, not being able to breathe and relying heavily on my inhaler that's when I discovered the egg . I've had plenty amazing pizzas without egg in the crust so I guess that's why I was surprised and now I'm just so sad I can't eat their pizza anymore. I'm hoping one day they'll make dough without egg as an option on their menu. Otherwise, definitely check out Bottoms Up!! The ambiance is my fave and the restaurant is super cute and comfy. Most of everyone seems to enjoy their job and are super friendly. I love going there because of that as well.

Most delicious pizza imaginable! Service is amazing. I fully understand how Bottoms Up Pizza wins yearly Best Pizza Awards!!

Yelp
Went to Bottoms Up yesterday very disappointed ordered a 1/2 Bottoms uploaded and meat master the meat master side had no meat but plenty of cheese it was discussing. We got cheese tracks what use to be amazing they stacked them on each other taking the cheese off of them. We ate one pie e of Bottoms up loaded and one slice of the meat masters paid 50.00 and took it home and trashed it. Bottoms up use to be the top of the line pizza places in Richmond I use to love it. I was so disapointed.

Yelp
Hadn't been to Bottoms Up in about 15 years,so I can't accurately compare against my memory. We were celebrating my birthday with my inlaws. My SIL made a reservation days ahead for 12. When she first there, she was told no reservation and they seated us upstairs at two neighbors, but not connected tables. This resulted in us feeling disjointed as some of us had our backs to one another. It seemed like it wouldn't have been hard to rearrange the tables, but...clearly was too tricky for the staff. The AC was super forceful and blew hard on us most of the night, adding to discomfort. We had appetizers cheese tracks that were okay, but then the app plates were quickly whisked away and the pizza arrived....but we had nothing to plate it onto! We sat looking at the pizzas for quite a bit. I finally picked up a slice and started eating it without a plate under it. She did eventually bring plates, but then we were rather underwhelmed with the pizza. The crust was basically focaccia, and did not have the normal chew and bite you would expect with a pizza crust. It was super fluffy and high. We liked the Molly Malloy and the loaded, but we felt the Chesapeake left a LOT to be desired. The onions were not particularly caramelized, then I couldn't really find the white sauce. No real garlic flavor, or flavor of old bay. I just reheated a slice we took home and added spinach to the top and roasted red pepper pesto. 100% improved. Overall, there was nothing to encourage me to come back to Bottoms up. It's sad, because it is in such a cool location down under the 95 Expressway interchange and the railroad tracks. Hopefully they can make shifts that they need to and stay open!

Yelp
While Bottoms Up Pizza isn't my favorite pizza in RVA, it's always great. I've only tried their pizza and a few apps, but I've never been disappointed. You can order the pizza by the slice, which is great when everyone wants their own thing. We love their patio, which is dog friendly, but keep in mind it does get a bit noisy when trains pass by, as it's right under a set of tracks. The service has always been great, friendly, and quick. If you haven't tried Bottoms Up, head there with your favorite four-legged friend when the weather is nice!
google avatar

Yelp
A great selection of pizza options. The pizza itself is not bad, however, nothing to write home about from my point of view. I won't claim to be a pizza snob, but not being from the area, I'm not sure how their pizza ranks in comparison. Prices are reasonable and service is certainly friendly. I'd also give them that you could probably fill up on a slice or two of their thicker crust pizza. Not sure when I'll be back to Richmond, but will give them consideration if I was in a pizza mood.

Yelp
Man.... PHENOMENAL pizza!! We're new to the area and our friends wanted to introduce us to the canal walk and Bottoms Up. So glad they did! We ordered sourdough thick crust pizzas - the Meat Master and the Bottoms Up Loaded. The crust was amazing and the toppings were fresh and plentiful. (Sorry, I was so hungry and enticed that I forgot to take pics of the pies) The pizzas weren't fast but I appreciated the care and quality. It was evident and worth the wait. Other patrons were fussy due to the "slow" kitchen and our server along with two others were a bit beat down but honestly , they provided great service with a smile and care for us as the customer. Our server, Ana was rockstar. 5 star service. She was better than great in our opinion. Thanks for a great experience, Ana! Last thing.. the ambience was great. It's located in the Shockoe Bottom near downtown Richmond and the building was full of that early Industrial Revolution vibe. The live jazz was great! The ButterBean Jazz Quartet (live from 6-8:30 every Sunday evening) was talented and the Jazz was as tasty as the food offered. All said, we'll be back again and again!

Yelp
This is the one establishment that every Richmonder has an opinion on. I've been dying to try this restaurant because it felt like an urban legend. Every time I've passed Bottom's Up someone always tells me, "you either love it or you hate it." I'm proud to say I've earned my badge on team "it's pretty good." Bottom's Up has the prime "post going out" pizza. It's fun late night food. I came here after my partner's ultimate frisbee tournament with him and his teammates. We were a group of eight. I'm sad to report that where we sat was awful for a group. I think something about the ceilings and the space made it very echoey. We were all screaming at each other and saying "huh?" every other second. I would recommend going with a smaller group or just doing takeout. We got the Goat in the Garden and added mushrooms (you can only do one change to their pizzas). I understand why opinions are high on this place, it isn't your traditional pizza. Their pizzas are super doughy and at first glance the pie is a bit confusing. I still enjoyed that extra dough. My favorite part of our pie was the garlic and fresh ingredients. It was delicious! Our friends were very happy with their salad and chicken pizza. Another friend got nachos and wings they shared. Overall, our group seemed to really like what they were eating.

Yelp
My last visit here was April 1, 2023 between 4pm and 7pm for a basketball banquet. Had a great time with the group I was with until it was time to leave. We had two designated staff who were amazing with making sure we had all we needed. We had buffet style pizza and I was able to order other items on the menu outside of what was coordinated for the rental of the room for groups located upstairs. I guess the people renting the room were not sure of all of the stipulations of renting the room and were trying to speak to management to finalize the bill. The manager on duty did not handle the situation well at all. He ended up raising his voice and walked off in the middle of the conversation and never returned. If this is that manager's normal behavior, I wonder how he treats the staff. . . We headed out of the restaurant after everyone closed all of their tabs and decided that we each have all had great experiences in the past and came to the conclusion that this was just one bad experience that didn't alter our opinions of this being a great restaurant with overall great staff and service. The room upstairs is a great size and has a bar. If renting make sure you understand all of the terms of your contract to avoid any confusion.

Yelp
In RVA for "804 DAY" we found this place by googling the nearest vegan options next to the center of the festivities. Decent vegan menu at this [I would affectionately referred to as] "hole in the wall" pizzeria in Shockoe Bottom. Our server Connor was friendly and attentive, in addition to being a fun James Franco look-alike. Upstairs wasn't too busy for a Saturday night, and it was a relatively short wait for our "Tripple Crossing, Vegan pizza" (which we ordered from the vegan menu) to arrive. I'm not gonna say it was the very best vegan pizza we've ever had but it was quite satisfying and we all agreed would go back. YES: vegan friendly

Yelp
My favorite pizza spot in Shockoe bottom. You have to try the Steve's favorite pizza slice. The slices are huge and fulfilling. I also tried the appetizer half nachos which was good, but also a lot of food. Their specialty cocktails are also tasty and are priced great. The establishment is pretty big. You have plenty of seating options like sitting at the bar or on the patio.

Terrell Z.

Yelp
I wish i could leave a review on the food, but unfortunately I never got to try the food. The customer service IS TERRIBLE. After i was seated (which i stayed seated for 20 minutes) I had a timer running. No one never looked in my direction let alone came and greeted me or even asked if i wanted water.

Yelp
I completed an online order at 12:19 PM and my promise time was 1:00 PM. I arrived at 1:05 PM and my pizza was not ready until 1:19 PM. Next, I inquired about can drinks while waiting and the hostess kept forgetting to inquire. I was eventually told that I had to go to the bar foe a bottled drink. I paid for the drink before knowing that the 20 FL OZ drink cost $ 5.62 which is half the cost of my slice of pizza.

Yelp
Always great pizza! We ordered out for the first time ! Everything was perfect! Our order: Bread sticks - way to much but great Meat lovers pizza - large too much . Host and tasty! Yelp
Great service and wonderful food! The food was exceptional. I highly recommend the Bottoms Up Pizza.

Yelp
I want to start by saying the Chesapeake Pizza is one of the most unique flavors I have tasted on a pizza. With that being said, there were some things that took away from my experience. The bread texture was very inconsistent. The ingredients were loaded in the middle and slid into the box as I pulled the pizza apart. The pizza was pricey for the size, and I expected more. It's located in the historic area so it was visually appealing if you enjoy that. But also its downtown Richmond (Shockoe Bottom) so parking can be rough. Bottoms Up is a place that is only in Richmond and I feel like is one of the few places you can get a seafood pizza, so I recommend trying at least once. Unfortunately the costs and location are pushing me away from making this a consistent stop. Overall Score: 5/10 Location: Okay 5/10 Prices: Overpriced 5/10 Customer Service: Great 9/10 Food: Decent 6/10 Recommended at least once

Yelp
We always enjoy ourselves at Bottom's Up Pizza! We love their dog-friendly patio, and they'll even bring your pooch a bowl of water. It gets busy, so we always go early to ensure we get a nice patio spot! The service is friendly, and the food is tasty. They have really unique pizza topping combos that are fun and delicious! Most recently, I've come to appreciate their portabella mushroom pizzas. These are two portabella mushroom caps, topped with your favorite toppings. You can create your own, or go for one of their signature pizza combos. I'm trying to increase my veggie intake, and these allow me to go out and get all the taste of pizza with none of the guilt! Their real pizza is also enjoyable! This is a convenient spot for us to walk to and one of our favorites this time of year when the weather is great for outdoor dining! We'll keep coming back frequently!

Yelp
Loved the fun flavors and toppings of this pizza. The crust was fluffy and crispy all at the same time. We came in with 6 people and were seated right away for lunch on a weekday. The decor was cute all decked out for the holidays. We got a large crab pizza, large goat cheese and large custom with white sauce, chicken and Roma tomatoes. We had soooo many leftovers. Everything was delicious. The crab was a pleasant surprise as it wasn't fishy. I loved the white sauce on it. Would definitely return if I'm back in the area!

Yelp
Some of the worst service we've ever had! Sat there for 2 hours. Had to get our own silverware when food arrived. Beer never came. Had to remind waitress about it after 45 mins and simply asked her to remove from check when food finally arrived, and yet when the bill came it still had the beer on there. Kids lemonades were watered down because the line kicked and they had no replacement. Waters never refilled. Childs cheeseburger came without cheese. Waited long time for food, long time to order dessert, long time to pay check. Dessert came and we had no silverware. Had to wait for some and she came back with plastic utensils and not enough for each person. Food was decent but experience was incredibly unpleasant.

Mirr ..

Yelp
HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. My table asked for a second batch of pizza because we were hungry, and the worker said fuck no. 1/5 do not recommended.

Laura P.

Yelp
We're in town for the Richmond race and this was a perfect spot for carb loading! The place was hopping, busy but the service was still friendly and patient. This looks like a fun place with a bar, but we sadly did not drink.. We got our meals pretty quickly too. I was so thankful they offered a full vegan menu, as pizza places are usually pretty depressing for someone who can't eat cheese. I got the Danielle pie, which had vegan cheese, tomato sauce, broccoli, onions, artichokes and fake chicken. We all loved the crust- chewy and soft and still crispy!

Yelp
I spoke to the event manager, Toni, who was quite apologetic for the way we were treated as indicated in the above review. Subject to the resolution she indicated would occur, I may be updating the review in the near future Update: Toni more than kept her promises and exceeded them actually. She represented a commitment to customer service and based wholly on her subsequent actions I will continue to support Bottoms Up pizza.

Andy H.

Yelp
Don't have much to say. The chicken tenders in the picture are 10 dollars, and it would take a little less than half a brain cell to know they're frozen tenders fried in dirty oil. Pizza is 18 dollars for what?? Do you have a cow outside to make your own cheese?? Average pizza for wildly high prices. Restaurant is lifeless and their food reflects that. Go to Mellow Mushroom instead!!!

Yelp
Stopped at this fun Pizza Bistro and Bar on the way up from Florida. Fun, relaxed vibe. Good friendly service. We tried the Richmond Style Thick Crust Pizza. We understand that Richmond style means it's sour dough crust, which is fairly light and airy. We really enjoyed it. One large fed the two of us quite easily. The neighborhood is called Shockley Bottom. I would love to explore it someday the next time through Richmond.

Yelp
Bottom's Up Pizza has been our long time favorite for 25 years when dining in for pizza. Saturday we drove from the the far Westend specifically to dine their. I always order 15 wings, a Medium Meat Master w/ EXTRA sauce and my wife orders a slice of Goat in the Garden. This is the place we take out of town visitors because it is so good. Wings were the normal 5* but whoever was working the kitchen not only missed the EXTRA sauce, but the only hint of sauce at all was around the edge of the pizza. We did not complain as our server was wonderful. I noticed my wife did not eat all of hers and I asked her why. She responded that it had 1/2 the Goat Cheese she normally receives. Leaving this review in hopes BUP will address this so we can go back and receive the consistency we are accustomed to.

Yelp
One thing to note before I start is get a reservation before going! We didn't know that and had to sit at the bar which was not great for a party of four to chat with each other. This place looks like a dive bar but a clean dive bar and had a very lively atmosphere. The selection of drinks from the bar is extensive so everyone should have no issues finding something they like. The staff was very friendly and the kitchen was quick considering the amount of people eating out that night. The food was good my only real let down was a taco pizza which looked great but it had red pizza sauce as the base which didn't pair well in my opinion with the Mexican topping flavors. Others in our party also had a cheese pizza and a all meat pizza and they seemed to really enjoy them. All in all we had a great time and would definitely go back with reservations and skip the taco pizza. Also not they do not have parking so a walk may be required.

Yelp
Our large group experience at Bottom's Up was fantastic! While in town for a volleyball tournament, our friend who is a Richmond native highly recommended this restaurant. My initial conversation with Troy was welcoming and accommodating. He made space for our group of 20 and offered some incredible options for a large party. Nicole handled everything with ease and patience. The pizza, salads, and wings were loved by all. It was a perfect evening and the setting allowed for some great team bonding. Highly recommended this restaurant and will be stopping by again the next time we are in town.

Yelp
When I'm in the mood for pizza, Bottoms Up isn't at the top of my list! But sometimes, on rather rare occasions, I actually like their thick, chewy, puffy pizza, although they do have other crusts to choose from including thin gluten free! If you love carbs and bread, this pizza is for you. If they were more liberal with their toppings, you'd get a better crust to toppings ratio - but you certainly won't leave hungry - this doughy pizzas are big! We've been to Bottoms Up many times for work events, social affairs, celebrations and parties, and we have always appreciated the big room upstairs for such gatherings. They can really put on a spread! There's also seating downstairs and outside if you don't mind the rusty, funky area of the downtown warehouse district, the overhead trains, the graffitied concrete and the traffic! On the plus side, being close to the canal and the James River is cool. Finding a parking space in Shockhoe Bottom can be challenging, but they also have take out if you'd just like to sink your teeth into some cheesy denseness! I prefer the pizzas topped with meats, olives, spinach and artichokes! But I had a bite of the Hawaiian pizza (not usually a fan) and it was pretty good! All in all, this is a Richmond favorite and a local staple eatery! I'm more into the authentic Italian pizza myself, like Mary Angelas in Carytown, but for a change of pace, Bottoms Up delivers.
