Bottoms Up - Review - New York - The Infatuation

"Bottoms Up wants to make wine shopping accessible for all. That’s why they’ve organized their entire shop by price point. They’ve even marked all bottles from women winemakers with a “W”, to make things even easier. This Prospect Heights shop also also delivers from 1-9pm everyday, and you can shop their full selection on the shop’s website. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation

Vodka Soda Bottoms Up Review - Hell's Kitchen - New York - The Infatuation

"This multilevel place in Hell’s Kitchen is a reliable weeknight standby. Bottoms Up is the low-key downstairs bar - but we always go straight to Vodka Soda upstairs for drag and dancing. It’s a place to remember when you don’t want to go home quite yet, but you do want to dance to Top 40 with your friends." - Rob Anderson

Google
Such a bummer to find out the new owner changed the whole system and as a loyal customer for years you just lost all your points which was a great deal and kept me coming back for more. He tried to offset it by offering 10% off which is barely the tax but you need to spend $200 to get $10 off and I had a free bottle coming to me after spending less than that. Not good for customer loyalty, especially when there's so much competition in the neighbourhood. Cheaper bottles of wine but not good quality or service.

Google
Nice selection of wines from different places. I like that they label women and the black owned labels. Their staff is helpful and friendly.

Seems to have gone from an adorable neighborhood shop to a primary colored monstrosity. What an eyesore.

Google
Mo is the best part of Bottoms Up. They’ve got a good wine selection BUT the main reason I go there is for the service. She always remembers me and gives me good recommendations.

Google
Elliot was super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The wine selection is broken up into different price points which are super affordable ($18 & under!) With the central table having about 30 different wines over $20. Do you want an orange wine? They've got that too! There's very nice selection of Spirits at which most are from Brooklyn. And an excellent small selection of Amaro! I wish this was my neighborhood liquor store!!!

Google
Wanted a Brooklyn made whiskey for a Christmas gift to a family friend, but didn't know much about what to choose. A young sistah working suggested a few options, talked us through taste & pallet, proof strength, varying prices depending on what we were looking to spend, and where each came from. Incredibly knowledgeable, patient with questions and friendly. Perfect location on Franklin Ave, and they deliver. Made sure to get a card

Google
This is a fantastic shop. The selection is diverse and well-curated at multiple price points; the staff is friendly and helpful; and prices are shockingly sane. Every neighborhood should have a wine store like this!

Google
This store offers a great variety of wines not seen anywhere else. I was too early for the wine tasting and based my purchases on salesperson's recommendations. BTW... wine stock on wall vary in price from $12, $15, and $18. Look at the floor for the prices!

Yelp
BLACK-OWNED BUSINESS!! I happened to be in the area and came across this wine shop. I didn't stop in at that time but I bookmarked for a later time. A few weeks later, I popped in to check it out. As I first walked in, I noticed that it was inviting--unlike some other liquor stores with the bulletproof glass. They have wine for all budgets and the pricing is in sections and the actual price is on the floor. I've been here twice and I like the atmosphere. There are a few wines that they don't carry but I've tried some other wines that was new to me. The service was good--the staff offered to help me if I needed it but didn't hover. Also, it's a Black-Owned business. You can join their rewards program and they deliver as well. I definitely recommend this wine and spirits shop.

Yelp
Cute wine store, it seems very small... hold on the "seem". Friendly staff great service. I have gone into this store a few times to get wines on the fly. Decent selection but, I'm leaning towards more chilled reds and natural wines and they done have a good selection of those (hence the one star) The reason for four star is all I said and the "seem" on the small I left to explain. This space has the cutest back space, hoping for summer vibes back there l. See y'all soon

Yelp
This new person that's in the store (guy with the accent) idk if he's the owner is soooo rude! I'm not sure if he knows how the store is run but just rude!! I spend so money there and this is how he treats his customers! Insane! This used to be my fav wine shop

Yelp
Extremely rude new staff member (white male from Europe) who acts as if spending YOUR money in this shop is him doing you a favor. Completely unwelcoming and aggressive environment when he is working. Everyone else is lovely. Unfortunately, I won't be shopping here any more because of his demeanor

Laura M.

Yelp
Today is National Rose Day and Mo directed me to the best bottle of rose I've ever had. if she hadn't been there I probably would've different and worse one. great service! she's the main reason I come back.

Yelp
I love this wine shop and I will shed literal tears if they ever stop selling this bomb wine called, Cleto Chiarli e Figli. It's bubbly, a bit sweet, and everyone enjoys it. I keep a bottle (or two!) at home to bring to any and all events. This shop is also designed with your pocket in mind! Take a peak at the floor and each section is priced separately. The people working there are always friendly and know their stuff (aka I come in and say 'I want a wine that tastes good but I don't like red but I want to try red...') and I manage to come out with exactly what I didn't know I wanted. It's also black owned and who doesn't love supporting a wonderful local business!? The only thing I would add would be that I would love to see some non-alcoholic options for my non-drinking friends. OMG OF COURSE! You can order ahead online and even get your wine delivered if you'd like. PLUS they have a rewards system. I am falling in love with this shop over again as I write this review, as you can obviously see.

Yelp
I love this local boutique wine store! Unlike other wine stores, their prices are not outrageous for good quality wines. They really seem to curate their selections well and at a great price point. Any store can have expensive wine, but a great store has great wine at a good price. I am often baffled about wine prices in the US, when the same bottle in Europe may cost a quarter of the price (literally), so I pay close attention to wine prices in NY. Their loyalty program keeps me coming back too - I am often pleasantly surprised when I walk out and my wine is "free" . I haven't found another shop that does the same.

Yelp
Bottom's Up is a small wine shop. Despite its size, they have a good selection. There are categories for $12, $15, $18, and $20 bottles of wine, plus a section in the middle for more expensive bottles. Even that section though has some inexpensive bottles, just all over $20. The first time I went there, it was empty and the service wasn't that great. The worker wasn't rude but he was also unhelpful. However, the second time they were having a tasting of a Sauvignon Blanc and a Malbec. The staff was a bit more friendly and helpful this time. I've bought a couple of bottles from here now. There was one of two misses, but most of them were good quality. They also had wormwood rye which was very interesting. It's definitely worth going back to. I wouldn't go out of my way to go to this wine shop, however I'd definitely come when I'm in the area. Plus, you get a great tote to carry wine in when you buy four bottles.

Yelp
I'm a fan of Bottom's Up. Thank you for bringing the boutique wine shopping experience to the neighborhood.

Yelp
This place is the absolute best. Everyone who works here is amazingly friendly and happy to provide help with recommendations. They have the wine separated by price point categories of $12, $15, $18 & $20 which makes picking things out a breeze, and I've honestly never come home with a bottle I didn't love. They also have a unique selection of liquor with tons of great local options, as well as international choices like Japanese whiskey. The best part about Bottom's Up? They have a rewards program. If I'm going to spend an absurd amount of money on my wine habit, at least Bottom's Up has my back by providing me with some perks.

Yelp
The have a great selection and are always super quick with delivery. They also have a rewards program that applies in store as well as online! My go-to in the neighborhood

Yelp
This place loves blasting their AC and leaving their front door wide open...all summer long!! Clearly zero care for the environment...very sad :(

Yelp
I LOVE this place. Just moved to the area and the staff are knowledgable and friendly. Great selection and good prices!

Yelp
What would I do without Bottom's Up? This place has a wonderfully curated wine and liquor selection at a very affordable price. They also have frequent events where you can sample new options.

Yelp
I stopped in here this evening just to look around, because I always walk by it but had never gone inside. Their selection is really different (in a good way) and the clerk was friendly and happy to talk me through the different options they had. I ended up buying a bottle of Dolin vermouth (I remembered I needed some for cooking) and when I got home compared it with my Martini/Rossi bottle -- the Dolin tastes much more nuanced and is more dry, so I'm excited to try it out. Apparently they also have wine tastings!

Yelp
I'm so happy this shop is around. Good wine, decent prices, and always friendly. It's nice to have a wine/liquor store in the neighborhood that doesn't store everything behind glass. Also- shoutout for the 10% discount back on Election Day for everyone with an "I voted" sticker- it was much needed & appreciated :)

Yelp
Great new wine store on Franklin Ave., run by super friendly people. Wines are organized by price (the price is on the floor) and there are a lot of under-$15 options to choose from. It's a nice space too, not cramped or crowded.

Yelp
Love the ambiance! Lots of options and super friendly staff! Definitely will be coming back when I visit again.

Yelp
Buyer beware: four out of the five times I've purchased wine from this shop they've sold me wine that's gone bad. To their credit, they've replaced the bad bottles with new ones, however, after happening so many times I feel like a fool for going back. It's also possible I've been unlucky- sometimes wine goes bad, but I've never had this happen so frequently anywhere else.
