I LOVE this place. First, the family who runs the place is really kind and they know their regulars and treat them with courtesy and even love. It's also a great place to get some Portuguese treats like soaps and mineral water from Portugal, the chopped cabbage for caldo verde, chouriço, the famous Serra cheese, pumpkin jam, etc. But even if you're not looking for anything from Portugal, the produce is really great, the butchers are generous and helpful (I just wish they'd stock beef bones for soup...), and they offer a fantastic selection of staples. If you like baked beans, they hold about five different kinds on their shelves. This is the best neighbourhood grocery store ever.
