Pizzeria Melrose’s New Plateau Location Goes Hyper-Local with Ingredients | Eater Montreal

"I learned that Oliviera sources Portuguese ingredients from Soares et Fils as part of his local procurement routine, and that the shop is also within a block radius of the restaurant." - Audrey Carleton

The best place in town for exotic fruit; they always have the best passion fruit, mangos, and interesting vegetables! Cleanest store in the city, friendliest and most knowledgeable staff. A real winner, hope it sticks around for another 50 years.

I met two beautiful sisters whom I believe run the store tonight and I am so glad I stopped by. They are indeed charming, friendly and so helpful. They go the extra mile to make sure you are a happy customer! 🥰 Wonderful service aside, they also hold a great variety of products. My mother was very pleased! (I’m less well versed in what products should be available at a Portuguese grocery store!) Again, so glad I came here and will be returning!

Excellent shopping experience. A lovely family grocery, with a quality butcher. You should be prepared to adjust expectations for brands and potentially products. This grocery is small, but perfect if you are willing to substitute. I've never had a bad experience.

The butcher's meat options are affordable, fresh, and reliable, which is especially valuable since this neighborhood lacks butchers. The service is always friendly. Highly recommended!

I LOVE this place. First, the family who runs the place is really kind and they know their regulars and treat them with courtesy and even love. It's also a great place to get some Portuguese treats like soaps and mineral water from Portugal, the chopped cabbage for caldo verde, chouriço, the famous Serra cheese, pumpkin jam, etc. But even if you're not looking for anything from Portugal, the produce is really great, the butchers are generous and helpful (I just wish they'd stock beef bones for soup...), and they offer a fantastic selection of staples. If you like baked beans, they hold about five different kinds on their shelves. This is the best neighbourhood grocery store ever.

Yelp
Good meat. A little more expensive than it should be, not brutally so. Produce selection isn't the widest but it's always in good shape. Nice people.
