Boucherie Épicerie Soares & Fils

Soares is one of the only grocery shop in the Duluth area with enough choice for the day-to-day. The staff is nice and friendly and the butcher section is usually filled up nicely. However, since the change of ownership, the quality of the products is not as satisfying and a lot more expensive. The freshness of the meat is very random; we had to throw some steaks or chicken away more than once due to the smell and obvious overage, to the point that we had to find another solution for meat products if we need to be sure they are really fresh. Similarly, vegetables are sometimes overripe or even spoiled, which made for some disappointing grocery trips for basic products one would expect to find.

Very friendly local grocery store with good prices.

The best place in town for exotic fruit; they always have the best passion fruit, mangos, and interesting vegetables! Cleanest store in the city, friendliest and most knowledgeable staff. A real winner, hope it sticks around for another 50 years.

I met two beautiful sisters whom I believe run the store tonight and I am so glad I stopped by. They are indeed charming, friendly and so helpful. They go the extra mile to make sure you are a happy customer! 🥰 Wonderful service aside, they also hold a great variety of products. My mother was very pleased! (I’m less well versed in what products should be available at a Portuguese grocery store!) Again, so glad I came here and will be returning!

Excellent shopping experience. A lovely family grocery, with a quality butcher. You should be prepared to adjust expectations for brands and potentially products. This grocery is small, but perfect if you are willing to substitute. I've never had a bad experience.

Good meat. A little more expensive than it should be, not brutally so. Produce selection isn't the widest but it's always in good shape. Nice people.
