Was hungry for a bacon cheese sandwich which was delicious and they even give you chips with it. Ate in the outside area and people watched. Was my first time using their kiosk to order tho was very efficient and my order was perfect. Thank you!

I had the open crab melt, but sadly, it wasn't what I was expecting. Bread was already soggy from the bottom. Couldn't even taste the crab it was mostly sauce. The thing I hated the most was the cold center. It was refrigerator cold. Totally killed it when I was expecting something hot as most melts are. It feels like it was microwave. Top and bottom hot but cold center.

Normally I would say the food was great but they goofed this time. We were first customers at opening and ordered two sandwiches to take to the ball game. What a disappointment to find they had not used fresh bread. That's one of the best things they do - make their own bread. The sandwiches lacked that fantastic fresh bread. I did call and talk to a manager and they'll make good on what happened.

The tuna melt here is probably the best I've ever had. The grilled parmesan coated bread goes perfectly with the delicious tuna salad, which has yummy bits of crunchy diced red onion and celery, sliced tomatoes, and gooey, melted Havarti and tangy sharp cheddar cheese. It's savory and bursting with flavor! It also came with sea salt Kettle Chips, which added a nice salty crunch to my meal. It's a good deal for only $12.49! Cholula hot sauce is also available if you want to give your food a little spicy kick. There is plenty of comfortable seating in this clean, relaxing San Francisco art-themed restaurant, with pop music playing quietly in the background. The service here is friendly and polite. I recommend this as a great place to go to savor a delicious and leisurely meal.

Google
Busy place, located by fisherman’s wharf and next to shore. We had to wait for a while to put in order as there was a big line but the wait was worth the food we had. The waffle was sooooo Goooodddd omg didn’t have one like this before. Chowder was really good too but the sandwich that we ordered was not great since the bread was really rubbery. We found table easily and it was a friendly service. Loved the vibe and view and food. What else you need!! Hoping to visit again! :) 100% recommended

Google
4/5 We got the chowder in sourdough and french dip sandwich. Chowder was good, creamy, clean taste but not life changing. I'm not sure if such chowder exists though. Sourdough bread was good and the French dip was also really good. I would come back again to try the other menu options and would recommend to others.

It's actually really sad. I've always enjoyed Boudin's. Today was by far the unsatisfactory service EVER. They have a bagger person that helps arrange your to go orders. She doesn't smile, aside from the fact. We have had the misfortune of not receiving food in the past and having to return. We checked the bag while the bagger made a disturbing facial expression. Come to find we were missing an order. When we brought it to her attention. There was no apology, she looked at our receipt and simply said it will be right out. When the items exceed our bag space she even had the audacity to charge us for another bag. Without any remorse. Only to find when time to enjoy .... The pastrami melt HAD no Monterey Jack cheese as described.... This is enough to not return. If they have workers that don't care, speaks volumes for their lack of customer service skills. I can't even say we enjoyed the food based on this experience.

Google
This place is like a panera bread. We really enjoyed the soup that we ordered. I'd definitely eat here again.

Yelp
Hi Jacqueline, thank you for reading and responding to the review. What is the store's policy for unavailable items? A refund or a substitution? What should I have requested and what can be expected? Thank you!

Yelp
At Boudin SF in Stonestown Mall, every visit feels like coming home to the scent of fresh-baked comfort. The staff? Always a smile, always a kind word--like they've been saving a little sunshine just for you. And the sourdough... oh, the sourdough--golden-crusted and tangy, my all-time favorite in the whole wide world. This time, I shared it all with the love of my life-- a Turkey Avocado, fresh, hearty, and full of flavor, and a Tuna Melt so warm and melty it felt like a cozy hug in sandwich form. Every bite, a little reminder of why this place is a treasure. Boudin SF, you never disappoint--see you again soon.

Yelp
Both touchscreen kiosks were not working when I came by for lunch with my group. The wait to order was a bit long because there was only 1 cashier working at the time. The food came out pretty quickly. They give you a number with a stand, and bring the food to your table if you order dine-in. We ordered the sausage and pepperoni pizza, broccoli cheddar soup with bread bowl, chicken caesar wrap, chicken pesto sandwich and clam chowder soup. Price was ok. Portions were medium, on the larger side of medium. Everything was tasty! I liked the convenient location within a mall because we could shop or have an activity planned at the escape room, and then grab a meal at the same place. I would definitely eat here again!

Yelp
I forgot how good the food was. It was a bit strange seeing the kiosks tho i decided to try ordering this way. It was quick and easy. Did not have to wait too long. I ordered a bacon sandwich and they provide you with chips. What an added touch. Thank you!

Yelp
Had the half sandwich and soup combo, it hit the spot. I didn't have to wait long and there was plenty of seating inside and outside. A kid in another table spilled his chilli on his lap and the workers there were nice and helped him and even gave him a burn ointment, luckily I don't think he was hurt.

Yelp
Wow, that clam chowder And the bread were the stars of the show. The bread was scrumptious with all the textures you want - a solid shell on the outside with soft, fresh fluffiness on the inside. It was baked to perfection. The clam chowder harkens back to the East coast clam chowder as well! The short rib melt was super cheesy and super good too! There was enough short rib - just the right proportions. This location was very busy and packed with people. Everyone working there was super nice, so I appreciate that despite how busy they were. It has been very popular. I can see that the prices are lower on average too - not bad. And you can get the classic, traditional SF treat right here at Stonestown. It did feel a bit cramped, as when considering how busy it got.

Yelp
It's been a long time since I ate at Boudin, and their sourdough bread still remains top tier! For 2 people, we shared the French Dip Deluxe sandwich and the Clam Chowder soup in a bread bowl. The French dip sandwich was delicious!! It was cheesy since it included provolone cheese and the au jus for dipping was so good! I wished it had more meat in the sandwich. Their clam chowder is pretty standard, you can't go wrong with it. The chowder pairs well with their fresh sourdough bread. This Boudin is located in the mall, so it has good amount of seating to dine in. You can order your food on their kiosks and pick up a number to dine-in. This is a casual spot to grab some lunch or get some delicious sourdough bread.

Yelp
Came here for the very first time for an after work snack and everything was made to perfection! The person at the register was super helpful and friendly! The Italiano was delicious. I loved the crunch from the bread and it had the perfect amount of everything inside. The clam chowder was extra hot, just the way I like my soups!

Yelp
Quick service, consistent taste, and love the free monthly bread with a purchase. My go to is the broccoli cheddar soup in a sourdough bread bowl. Cheesy and thick creamy goodness with broccoli and carrots.

Yelp
I had another review on Boudin located in O'farrel St. After the good first impression of the food, I decided to try Boudin again and this time it was at Stonestown. I'd rate 3.7/5. Environment: I ordered to go on the machine, but I stood inside the place to wait. Ground was a bit sticky but that's probably cause I stood near the soda fountains. It looked like there was a lot of ppl inside though, so pretty busy. Food: Half Italiano + Clam Chowder I got the same sandwich since I remembered that it tasted good and also the soup that my friend had gotten instead of salad like last time. Wait took around 10-15 minutes. First, I was just surprised the sandwich was different lol, though I saw that most other sandwiches (acc to the images) were cut like this, my first Italiano was cut like a PB&J (triangle). I didn't mind but just a notice/ comment. I then saw that there was a lot of meat, and I think double cheese, which was way more than my first one at Ofarrel. Normally more portions is good but I felt like the more meat overpowered the flavor overall- especially salami. Also, the mayo was stronger which contributed to the whole overpowering of flavors. The soup was steaming hot and I liked it. My dad said it was salty though. For me, I think it is a bit salty if you continuously eat it but since I sort of paused between the soup and sandwich it wasn't too noticeable. Anyways I took the soup home to eat since I felt full after the sandwich, so portion wise it's big.

Yelp
As much as I'd like to write a positive review Boudin makes it difficult to. The loyalty program has been revised. You can only get a free one pound sourdough loaf with purchase. I fully endorse that change. It became effective June 1, 2024. Today 6/9/24 I redeemed my birthday cookie. Also wanted to take advantage of the milkshake which was $2 off. The change - you're entitled to a free loaf every 30 days from your last transaction. For me that was May 20th. That means I've got to wait til June 20th. Don't get me wrong. You can tell we come here often from the # of my Yelp check ins. Now I'm not sure if I'll make a point. Sure we were coming for the free loaf but we were also purchasing food most times. Plus hubby waited over 10 minutes for the shake. He decided to cancel the order and got a refund. Why promote something and then have a customer wait, wait, wait...

Yelp
I tried calling several boudins. No one answered their phones. I want to purchase 12 clam chowder can soup. Out of state family request for them. Shipping fee was over $100. I took a chance and hope they had it at the Stonestown store. The guy at counter said we just got the shipment in today. Lucky me. Brought a luggage to smoothly carry them to the car. Busy store but organized and helpful staff. Clean with plenty seating inside.

Yelp
I thought I'd update my review, reflecting improvements in the service and food. They've added an additional kiosk to help reduce the line (although too few people use it). Today I had the turkey and havarti cheese sandwich on sliced sourdough bread. It was very good and fresh. The side salad was excellent and had just the right amount of dressing. Overall, a good experience today.

Yelp
If you want San Francsico captured in a Sandwich this is your best bet. Although its a chain quality has remained and value as well. So I said 'quality' - what does that mean? Good quality? Bad Quality? Mediocre quality? Quality really doesn't mean anything. There I schooled you. The quality was good and the value was even better than good. The service, ambiance, food and price were all good or better than good. Service was friendly. All the people working there were five stars. Very helpful and quick and hardworking. Ambiance was great too. Casual spot - no fuss - not stuffy. Get your own drink from the soda fountain kind of place. And I like that. Crab sandwich was the only thing that could get a little better attention. It for whatever reason was soggy. When I picked it up it dripped. Also a bit on the salty side - not sure if anything can be done about that - as crab meat is salty. But if any of the toppings have lots of additional salt maybe cut back a bit on them. The cheese I think was a bit too much. Overpowered the crab. Only other nitpicky thing I could say as constructive criticism would be to touch up the wood trim on the baseboards and around the restaurant. Things were clean but knicks and chips could have benefited from a little touch up color pen. It hides imprefectons and wear in wood that has been damaged. WOuld make the place look like new. I loved the pictures of the Golden Gate bridge and for such a small space it does the name boudin justice as I'm familiar with the flagship store in Fisherman's wharf.

Yelp
Yikes - Not my first time here, but probably the last lol. Me and my friend arrived around 11:30. It was his first time here, so while browsing the menu he asked a worker what their favorite sandwich was. The worker answered the Italian sandwich. Okay, cool. My friend then asks what's in the sandwich (due to dietary restrictions, he wanted to make sure it was safe for him to order!). The worker stops and stares at us, mutters "what's in the sandwich?" and then walked away. We thought he'd maybe check the ingredients but uh.. he never came back with an answer. My friend ended up trusting the worker's word and ordered the sandwich only to have to pick off two ingredients he couldn't have. I understand if it was like 8-9am and you aren't a morning person but it was nearing 12pm now, how're you gonna just ignore us? On top of that, we got hair in our soup! Lovely.

Yelp
I love Boudins, but they need to work on their fresh Dungeness crab menu. We came here for the Dungeness crab menu and ordered everything they had with the crab...so here goes. Crab melt: 0/5 Look at the picture of this disgustingly dry horrible melt. It was the worst crab melt I've ever had. Dry hard bread with funky crab meat that tasted like it was from a can----seriously disgusting. Crab corn chowder: 1/5 watery corn soup with no crab. We couldn't taste the crab, and for $12, it comes in a sourdough bread bowl. It had corn but needed more corn and more flavor as well. I forgot to put it in the picture, but the only saving grace was the sourdough. Crab salad: 3/5 They had better tasting crab in this, but I hate the white lettuce pieces and thought this was overpriced for what you get. We ordered a side of pepperoni bread pizza, and thank goodness their pizza is delicious. 2 stars for their overpriced, small portion, and horrible tasting new crab menu!

Yelp
Came here for the multigrain bread $8 and also the chicken pesto mac and cheese $14.99, so hearty and cheesy which comes with bread and butter. Get points for joining their rewards program if you're a regular. Love the multigrain bread, our local go to for bread.

Yelp
Just average quality for pricey food. If you're in stonestown, you have other options.

Yelp
08/16/2024: I had traveled here alone myself. I had not been accompanied of any other person. Picking up early dinner for myself, and for being on travel at work in area. I was able to order using kiosk. Plenty of seating inside and out. No wait time. Food was in tasteful.

Yelp
Great place to contribute to consuming micro-plastics. There's images online of this kitchen actually cooking their soups still in the plastic bags! Incredibly disturbing. This is exactly how you get micro-plastics in your body.

Yelp
Boudin's sourdough is a San Francisco staple! Yes Boudin is a tourist stop for many, but it's also a place that makes repeat customers out of locals like me for their bread and clam chowder. Pro tip: join their rewards program to get a FREE loaf of sourdough bread with your purchase EVERY month so you can keep the sourdough party going at home too!

Yelp
I really like this place before. But waiting 30+ minutes for clam chowder and mac and cheese is very long. Ppl who came after us got their food and finished already. When asked if the food is almost ready yet. They said no.. today is not that busy, lots of open tables. Very slow service. Had a feeling that they might have forgot my order. Will not be coming back.
google avatar

Sandie W.

Yelp
Gross me out. This is rating one of the workers there. Just because they have gloves on they think they've got clean hands. I was sitting on the outside tables by Boudin having lunch and observed the Caucasian guy with glasses wearing blue plastic gloves. He comes pick up the trash around our table and then wipes the tables with a cloth. Then goes goes back to cashiering and I see him touching his nose. Next thing he'll go touch the bread and go back to cashiering. Yuk. He needs lessons in health and food cleanliness.

Yelp
The famous Boudin of San Francisco. This one happens to be in the convenience inside Stonestown Shopping mall and plenty of parking available. Food - 1) Clam Chowder $9 - The classic clam chowder! Creamy, tasty, and flavorful. Honestly one of the best clam chowders maybe because it reminds me of my childhood. 2) Prosciutto & Burrata Sandwich $15 - this was my first time having burrata in my sandwich and it was tasty. I like the saltiness of the flavor of the prosciutto compliments well with burrata including the balsamic glaze. Service - The staff here are probably college kids trying to earn income while in school. I do recommend they focus more on customer service though as they are chit chatting and not paying attention to their customers. I initially asked if they had clam chowder and the lady said no.. wait.. no.. and I politely asked her if she could ask the staff in the back then they said "yes there's clam chowder." Kind of left a bit of a salty taste in my mouth but Boudin's a classic nonetheless.

Yelp
Great food. Very busy . Make sure to double check your order my turkey sandwich came out grilled cheese. I thought the kiosk was supposed to make our lives easier. Fortunately I wanted some grilled cheese and I was hungry too. It was so noisy today because of the holiday and family day.
google avatar

Yelp
Unf boudin has gone downhill. Nothing like it used to be. Clam chowder is extremely average. The bread is stale and nothing special. I used to have memories coming here as a kid. Take your money elsewhere.
google avatar

Yelp
It was time for another carb-loading experience. Boudin is where I like to go to get my fix on sourdough. They have the best in town. It's my favorite type of bread. Freshly baked, and unimitable. So good with soup. I ate way too many slices tonight. Dipped it in my broccoli cheddar soup. Very yummy meal. The items run low or completely out fairly fast, especially on the busy weekends. Come in early in the day, or else face disappointment, if your go to is all gone. The customer service here is terrific and the ambiance is as well. There is plenty of seating, and the Wi-Fi inside the restaurant works pretty good. I will be back.

Yelp
Boudin Bakery in Stonestown Galleria will be your one-way ticket to healthy eating if you're unable to find restaurants or cafés that have better nutrition. Before I hit the REGAL theatre, I wanted to try Boudin before my time was up. Its food selections on its menu would never be ignored. It even had additional outdoor seating near the escalator in case indoor seating was full. Btw, its outdoor seating sure made Boudin look Frenchy, you know, black and curly steel chairs and tables. The smell of fancy, fresh meals were permeating from Boudin's indoors. Soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers, flatbread. What'll it be? Here's my pick. A big bowl of Greek Salad, a regular bowl of White Cauliflower & Cheddar, and a mini bread roll. The good thing was that all bowls, plates, and utensils were compostable. The spinach leaves in the Greek Salad kinda makes me think that Popeye has such a herculean power after consumption. Boudin finally has Mediterranean meals as a brand new option. So it's good to choose what's new here. The feta cheese and chickpea hummus bring out bold new signature flavors that take you back to Santorini. White Cauliflower and Cheddar with sharp cheddar strips was strong and hearty. And scoops from the compostable bowl were much better than a bread bowl (which was a terrible experience if you read about it). But I'm still packed with some carbs from the mini bread roll. When I think about Boudin Bakery, it's never so shabby since the food selections were fun to choose. It's important to opt for more leafy greens to balance your body than to have a more flavorful meaty meal.

Yelp
Clam chowder is the best in Boudin! The chowder is warm and filled with lots of clams and potatoes .Sandwiches and salad are also very fresh. The restaurant is clean and the services are also excellent! The only problem is hard to found parking!

Yelp
My husband and I stop by her before seeing a movie in the mall. The atmosphere was fairly standard for a mall restaurant. Clean enough. Nothing too comfy though. We both had half-and-half orders. Mine was a pastrami melt, with a cup of chili. The chili was very good. Pastrami melt was flavorful, but very very small. My husband had the clam chowder with a rib melt. He felt almost exactly the same. Although I think I enjoyed my Chili more than he enjoyed his clam chowder, overall this is a good experience. Nothing special, nothing too bad.

Yelp
This place is underrated. I remember walking by with a friend and noting that this business has stayed here for as long as we can remember. Thought it may be a staple for an older demographic.. let me tell you I now see why... I came into the mall to grocery shop at Whole Foods, but I was already hungry. Since the days are more chilly now as soon as I walked past, a warm bowl of soup looked so inviting. Best decision I ever made! The cashier was nice and actually suggested the pick two deal since I was hungry enough for both a sandwich and soup. The value without tip for both the bread bowl (an extra dollar) with the broccoli cheddar and the Turkey avocado was under $12. Which is amazing for the prices in the Bay Area! The broccoli cheddar really hit the spot because it warmed me up on the cold day and it was great to dunk pieces of the sourdough bread. Honestly, the bread bowl was worth the extra dollar, but I felt wasteful because I wasn't sure what to do with it once I ate all of the soup. I tried picking away at it, but it was quite hard. The Turkey avocado sandwich was delicious. The avocado and lettuce in it were fresh and the turkey provided the protein that I needed. I would recommend this place for a cold day because the soup will warm you up. The value was impressive. The customer service really looked out for me. And I think I'll start coming here for a pick-me-up when I need a satisfying, simple meal.

Yelp
Came here craving sandwiches n salad. My man craving snack. But he got breakfast burrito. Cashier describing the burrito is a big size but it came out very tiny. It's like four bites for him.geez.. my sandwich. The bread was so stale and old disappointing.salad dressing is ok.. why even bother coming to this location?? Food came out slow grrr.. the location at fisherman wharf is better..

Yelp
Nice thing about malls, lots of parking at least in theory, it's important to note that parking gets very full via the lots facing 19th Avenue. Boudins, its important to note that they have a very generous loyalty program so get the application, plus they make some great loaves of bread which they are happy to slice. The Stonestown Galleria location was busy but the line was not excessive, and it moved quickly. The staff was focused, polite, and they did a great job fulfilling orders. That said, my order was their BBQ Chicken Salad that came with Bread & Butter. As always the Bread was great, and the plant components of the Salad were fresh, as for the BBQ component it comes in the form of a container of BBQ Sauce, as for the Chicken it was Poached. My opinion : the Salad was okay in a pinch, but the Chicken was over Poached, could have used more seasoning, and that a container of BBQ Sauce was not sufficient to make this dish worthy of a destination visit. So it was okay, but I'd normally just stick to their breads.

Yelp
We come down to San Francisco on occasion. For over 2 years we've been looking for a place with great clam chowder and garlic cheese bread. We finally hit the jackpot with Boudin's! Very tasty chowder with a lot of flavor AND garlic cheese bread for a very decent price. We took a turkey cranberry sandwich for later while we were there. All of the food was delicious.

Yelp
Service is great. But my Short Rib Melt is nothing like the picture. That was disappointing.

Yelp
I decided to take a chance on Boudin's new Salad since I got a $3 coupon off from their mailing list. I chose the new summer salad 2023 the seared Ahi Tuna salad. The ingredients are Seared ahi tuna, spring mix, napa cabbage, cucumber, edamame, carrot matchsticks, fresh avocado, wasabi drizzle, Asian sesame dressing, topped with Furikake seasoning, served with crispy wontons and sesame seeds. I was pleasantly pleased with the sourdough dinner roll, always my favorite part is the bread. I enjoyed limited salad. I like how Boudin comes out with new recipes, some can be really tasty. I feel healthy eating it and filled me up for lunch. I was happy line wasn't long on Saturday during lunch time 1pm.
google avatar

Milton Y.

Yelp
Came for a quick Sunday afternoon lunch after church. The clam chowder bread bowl is standard. Since I got discharged from an illness stay at two hospital facilities I been yearning outside restaurant quality food, including but not limited to mall quality food. I cannot get tired of the Boudin sourdough. They gave me plenty of butter for the empty bread bowl. This chowder is better than any canned versions from Progresso or Campbell. A bit pricey but in my opinion worth it.

Yelp
My staple for lunch! Their soup and sandwich combo is always the perfect portion for lunch. Soups are always creamy, sandwiches are healthy, and it's super filling! I usually get this to go but this time we ate in the restaurant and the servers were extremely friendly and attentive :)

Yelp
Yesterday around 5 pm was enjoying my Bruschetta pizza, my friend and I were sharing, until I felt a sharp pain on the right side of my throat. Tried ignoring it, until i realized the pain would persist, it has gotten worse. I still feel throat pain 12+ hours later. My friend brought this up to a supervisor, the supervisor said "what do you want me to do about it", she refused a refund initially because we "finished most except for a little piece" YEAH BECAUSE THATS WHEN THE PAIN STARTED! She said she couldnt do anything about it, because she was just a supervisor, and her manager had rejected the idea of the refund, especially since i "had just ordered on a kiosk." Um hello, cant or wont? It wasn't till i went up to the counter and loudly cried in the store about the pain, I just felt so dismissed. You care more about it when your reputation is at risk. she went back to the manager to approve a cash refund. Completely careless management, acting as if I just selfishly wanted a refund.. my LIFE is at risk here and your management team was worried about $11 dollars? Is that how little a customers health is worth to you? selfish person, caring more about having to process a refund than my pain from YOUR pizza because of careless food handling. I tried asking her to ask her staff about wheather they might have broken something to cause a mini sharp shard to land in my food, she said she would check in with her staff "later" so i waited. She went back to the back, for around 20+ more minutes i waited, still nothing so I left. This should immediately be investigated. My throat hurts each second i breathe now.

Yelp
Food was good but personality of the worker Duana S.needs improvement. We ordered the Bruschetta Pizza but thought it would be like the one we ordered month's earlier on a French bread. Maybe the workers at Sacramento Boudin at Fair Oaks can come to San Francisco to train Duana. First, I didn't know we got a choice of the kind of Free Monthly Bread. Second, I didn't know that I couldn't use 2 coupons on the same day. One table for 2 was clean but still wet from being wiped down.

Yelp
Now that I'm not vegan anymore, Boudin is a much more enjoyable experience :') The grilled cheese is the love of my life, especially paired with either butternut squash soup or the tomato soup. It's usually just so deliciously melted and cheese and crisp and soft all at the same time, although it was missing a little something this time, maybe because it was brought out with a group order so it cooled down a bit. And the soups make the perfect dipping compliment (careful, though, they're scalding hot when they bring them out!!). The accompanying salad is pretty good too (the vinaigrette is tart and fresh). They're checking vaccine cards so be ready to show them when you order! The service is honestly pretty fast, and there's seating both inside the restaurant and outside of it (in the mall).

Andrea H.

Yelp
I ordered a grilled cheese with tomato soap... I am so upset this isn't even a sandwich. It's so hard and flat. The cheese is hard and half of it seemed to have rolled out and snapped off.

Yelp
Went in tonthe shopping center outlet tonite for a quick dinner. Ordered a crab melt that came with salad. There were 2 workers behind the counter, 2 in the kithen area, and a cashier . Maybe 3 customers. The ones behind the counter and kitchen were buisly gossiping and doing whatever. It took a full 15 minutes for my sandwitch to come out of the kitchen alcove, and it sat on the countertop while the workers gossiped . Eventually, i asked if that was my box, and the woman slid it down to me and turned back to her friend. I just grabbed the box and my drink and left. Later, in my car, i noticed... no salad and the sandwich was cold. Trust me....never again will i do business there,

Yelp
Boudin bread is the best sourdough bread. When toasted, the exterior has a nice crispy crunchy texture. The hot sandwiches are very good and tasty. I used to like their clam chowder but it has so much starch in it now (flour). It still tastes good, but too heavy. I never get the chowder in bread bowl, it soaks up all the delish soup and very few people consume the entire bread bowl. I'm glad this Boudin is at Stonestown otherwise to cross to the Richmond side or Fishermen's Wharf and it is a pain to get to those Boudin stores. They don't bake at this store, so when they run out, which they do at times, I have to settle for something else. The back has a small dining area but plenty outside seating in the mall. There's always a line at meal hours. Taking home a baguette is such a treat as i look forward to making sandwiches at home. I do pick up 2 big loaves of Boudin bread from Costco but there's so much of it that we're eating for days. A loaf can be placed in the freezer up to 3 mos, wrapped in plastic.

Yelp
So while in the mall for an errand, I decided to stop by and try their Test kitchen short rib with cheese sandwich which from the picture looked really good. Unfortunately what I got did not look like anything from the advertised picture. I should have taken a pic of the photo that was hanging on the wall near the cashier area. Those darn photo stylists really know how to make a food pic look good. At any rate. 2 stars for today's visit specifically for the sandwich.

Yelp
What's not to like about a free pound of bread every month?? Well, it would be nice if the people working there (at the Stonestown location) would just pretend that they don't mind giving it to you! Yes, you get a free one pound loaf of sourdough bread each month for being a "loyalty rewards member", but the folks there don't seem to be too happy when you go get it. The sourdough bread, especially the round, is delicious. I like to heat it in the oven until it's crunchy on the outside and hot and soft on the inside; then you slather it with butter and stuff your face with it!! It's nice and sour the way it should be! Love SF sourdough! Alas, on the last day of this month, I went at the last minute to claim my free loaf and they were out of sourdough!! I ended up with a two pound loaf of multigrain bread, which was more expensive than the one pound sourdough, but they just deduct the price of the sourdough and you pay the difference. I also picked up a couple of cookies since I don't like just going to get my free loaf. And STILL they didn't seem that happy to see me!! Oh, well, the things I put up with for my free sourdough! Seriously, though, I really do appreciate getting the bread... it's very tasty! I'll go earlier this month to be sure I can get sourdough; the multigrain just doesn't do it for me!

Yelp
Wow. This place has gone down the drain. I spent $20 for lunch for myself and a friend and I am so embarrassed. I even insisted on Boudin because I remember it being delicious. Worst part, I did a pick up since she couldn't to go out to eat...I am not coming back. She got the bacon breakfast burrito. It was just this limp thing with hardly any stuffing inside. It wasn't even round like the photos. I ordered the clam chowder with half sandwich, it was meh. The chowder was watery. The sandwich had maybe one spoon full of chicken salad which meant it was mostly just bread and this huge leaf of lettuce. Regret not taking photos to show you...
