It was very unpleasant to see the dirty sofas in this cafe; they hadn't been cleaned in a long time. The furniture is old. If you value cleanliness, this is definitely not the place for you. The floor was dirty, but there weren't many people there, so they could have cleaned it

I had an amazing experience at Boudin! When I visited, it was pleasantly empty, making for a relaxed and slow-paced atmosphere. I was thrilled that the food came out so quickly. I couldn't decide between a burger or a salad, so I was delighted to find an option to get half of both. I also tried their pepperoni and cheese pizzas—each slice was delicious. The sourdough loaf I took home was fantastic! The associates were incredibly nice and patient. It's like Panera Bread's sister, but a little cheaper. Highly recommend!!

Jordan (the supervisor at this location) is a phenomenal employee and a first-rate level employee who deserves to have recognition by the senior leadership team. She is by far the most hardworking, dedicated, professional, knowledgeable, friendly and customer service oriented employee I have ever come across at any Boudin SF location I’ve dined at in the USA. The sourdough bread here is hands down the BEST sourdough bread in the USA. I absolutely love the cozy outdoor seating this location offers and their clam chowder soup is the MOST delicious clam chowder soup I’ve ever had in the USA. If you are looking for a venue that has great customer service, very high quality food, a casual environment and a very comfortable atmosphere, this is the perfect dining spot at The Fountains in Roseville. I look forward to dining at this amazing restaurant in the near future!

Boudin’s is absolutely amazing! Every time I come here, I’m blown away by how fresh and delicious everything is. The sourdough bread is out of this world — perfectly crusty on the outside and soft on the inside. You can taste the quality and care in every bite. Their clam chowder in a bread bowl is a must-try, rich and creamy with the perfect balance of flavor. The staff is always friendly, helpful, and quick to make sure you’re taken care of. The whole atmosphere feels warm and welcoming — perfect for a casual lunch or a quick bite while out and about. Whether you’re grabbing a sandwich, soup, or one of their yummy pastries, you can’t go wrong. Boudin’s never disappoints — easily a 5-star experience every time!

I ordered chowder in a bread bowl. I had never eaten inside this location before. My bread bowl had always been heated before. I was given a cold, dry bread bowl with some hot soup. The soup was fine, but there was no steam from heating the bread to moisten it. It was very disappointing. Maybe they don’t heat them anymore. I won’t eat there again.

Tuna melt sandwich was good. Other food is pretty bland which is surprising for their clam chowder. Potatoes are also under seasoned. Sandwiches run around $12 now and the soup and bread bowls are $9. Line can get pretty long but there's is a self service kiosk. Also during our visit, the drink machine was down.

This review is for their Steve's Sourdough Pizza only. There is nothing positive to say. Lack of toppings, barely any sauce, and the carelessness in their cooking it. They sent BURNT pizza. So the service too gets no stars for allowing something this poor in quality to go out. Each pizza was $28 per pizza plus delivery fees. Really disappointing. Just avoid it.

Mmmmmm the best sour dough Ever! It's so delicious, I eat it with every meal! There's so much you can do with this bread and oh the broccoli and cheddar bread bowl. Wow, amazing and very fulfilling! Personalities was great and they took care of us. Thanks for being great!

Thank goodness for Angelic! When we got to Boudin's Roseville, they didn't have my order. I had ordered my rolls and cinnamon rolls a few days before my visit to my aunt's. Angelic mentioned that the day shift hadn't set aside our order and everything was sold out, she was so apologetic and tried to make it up to us. She couldn't give us what we ordered, but she did offer a multi-grain loaf and brownies. She even gave us an extra two as an apology. Please thank Angelic for doing such a great job of making things right. We still love Boudin's and very glad they have employees like Angelic.

Usually a pretty great experience anytime I eat here, however I've been attempting to place an online order since 11/6 through through both DoorDash and UberEats to no avail. I'll place an order, and it will be immediately cancelled due to an "inability to connect with the store". I'm unable to drive to surgery recovery and I'm super bummed that I can't grab food from my favorite place even though they're showing up as a sponsored option on all the food delivery apps.. I attempted to contact them a couple of times but the phone system gives me the runaround and ends up just connecting me to DoorDash, and they have no idea what's going on either. Since I can't get someone on the phone and DoorDash can't contact either, I'm hoping maybe this medium will get someone to notice just in case they aren't aware of the issue. Please help. I just want my sandwich ):

Haven't been here in years, but this will definitely be the last time here. Broccoli cheese soup was watery. It had only tiny flecks of broccoli florets floating in it. It was also VERY salty. The roll they served with it was super hard. Good grief. Their grilled cheese sandwich had hardly any cheese inside, it was just toasted dry bread. The little bit of cheese inside was tasty, however. Wish they put cheese in their grilled cheese. Fruit cup - was about 1/2 a cup of smashed grapes and melon. The fruit cup at Chick Fil A is SOOO much better, has a much nicer variety of FRESH fruit and the serving size is bigger. Lesson learned. Avoid this place. We were so disappointed. We definitely do NOT recommend Boudin.

It was a cold day and we thought some clam chowder would hit the spot!!! Sadly the restaurant was just as cold inside as it was outside we asked an employee and they were not helpful. Luckily the soup was hot and with some Tabasco, it warmed us up...a little. We enjoyed the soup and Caesar salad combo which doesn't come with bread any longer we splurged and shared an almond croissant which was the pièce de résistance!!! Next time we will check the temp inside before ordering!!!

Boudins corp asked me to reach out directly to the email given. I did on Monday it's now Thursday and I was not surprised no response from the customer service email...

Pretty solid sandwiches. Enjoyed the roast beef with its horseradish spread. I'd recommend. 10/10.

Did the quality change here in the last year? I used to love boudin, but I feel like the sandwich bread has gotten more dry, the salads are super bland and almost wilted... And things just don't taste as fresh. Has there been a change?

I had to try Boudin again. It is a good spot when you want some soup. I always get a combo meal since I wanted soup and it is fall-winter vibes this time. I had the chicken pesto mac and cheese. Wow!! The chicken was cooked perfectly. It is not too dry and it tasted amazing. The pesto was not overpowering the mac and cheese. It truly complements each other. The second part of my order was the rustic tomato soup and I needed some good soup. It is very simple and very flavorful. One thing I do recommend when coming here or door dashing etc is to ask for the croutons and cheese on the side so it won't be too soggy. This meal is perfect and I will come back here again.

I have eaten at Boudin many times. But now the prices are a bit high for what you get. My husband had the Italian sandwich which had just one thin slice of each type of meat. I had the tomato bisque in a sourdough bowl which I have had many times, but this time it was only half full. See the photo. It was still tasty. We used the self-serve kiosk to order which was efficient. There were only a couple people in the restaurant so we were served promptly but they forgot our drinks at first. There are plenty of tables inside and out on the patio and the restaurant is clean.

Came here for lunch and the experience was great. The atmosphere was welcoming and the smell of the food was incredible. Customer service was good. Everyone was so kind. I had the beef chili in a bread bowl and it was perfection.

Stopped in for lunch today after a hair appointment and shopping at the Fountains in Roseville. This is a perfect spot to pick up a quick bite plus bakery items such as freshly baked bread, cookies and pastries to take home. I got the "pick a pair" with clam chowder and half turkey avocado sandwich. Also picked up a peanut butter cookie and cinnamon bread to take home. It was a little busy but the service was still good. You can order on your phone, kiosk, or at the register. Even though it was warm outside I chose to eat outside to enjoy the sunshine on the covered patio.

If you like thick soup this is the place! The tomato soup is super cheesy. The clam chowder needs some salt and pepper but the bread bowls are nice and soft. You order at the counter or online and sit wherever so it is a nice casual dining experience. The speed of service and price is totally fair and definitely worth it.

Very disappointed today when dining at Boudin's at the Fountains in Roseville. First, the clam chowder did not taste like the clam chowder I have known to love. It was quite bland. Missing something. Second, a salad I ordered did not list any cheese in the description. The one that was delivered to my table had cheese all over the top of it. Third, I ordered a sourdough loaf. I was asked if I wanted it sliced. I stated I did not want it sliced. I just took it out of the bag and the loaf is sliced. Fourth, the Banquette Burger is my favorite. Boudin's has eliminated it from the menu. So sad. Last, the service was off. It didn't matter when you arrived or ordered your food. The food came out in whichever order that made no sense. Patrons who arrived before us waited longer for their food than patrons who arrived after us. What is going on Boudin's?

I ordered the chicken salad sandwich and the measly portion of chicken salad could have easily been fitted into one half of the sandwich. I will not waste money here again.

DoorDashed a light supper. Two sandwiches. Both had bread crusts so hard you could not bite them. The filling was fine; beef and apple/cheese. $4 for a cookie. ONE Cookie! No thank you not ordering again.

Boudin has typically been a favorite of mine but today I ordered a BLTA which is a bacon, lettuce, tomato and avocado sandwich. It comes with a very small bag of kettle chips or a side salad. The sandwich was fresh with lots of tomato and lettuce. Very disappointing that the few half slices of bacon they put on the sandwich were thin and nearly non existent. Especially for a sandwich that costs $12.99 and is called a Blta... Not sure if I will be going back to Boudin any time soon. The servers were nice, strange that the tables hadn't been cleared most of them were dirty with uneaten food sitting on them, especially since I was the only customer in the place.

Boudin has the best sourdough bread of any bakery. We stop here when we need some good bread. The staff are always friendly and the service is usually quick except during lunch when there are a lot of customers. They offer seasonal breads also. If you want a good sandwich try the Turkey and Havarti sandwich.

I love Boudins in San Francisco so I thought I'd grab a sandwich. I was really disappointed for almost 12 bucks there was hardly any meat or cheese. Next time I'll stick to clam chowder I guess

Stopped by to pick up my reward bread loaf. I always get sliced sourdough. They are now only giving out reward loaves with purchase so I purchased a salad for lunch , Asian Chicken, and for my free sliced sourdough loaf of bread. This is a very busy location at lunch hour. It took a while to get my salad out and they forgot to include the dressing. It comes with a sourdough roll and you have to ask for utensils with to go orders. The salad was tasty and large enough to share. The protein portion is a little small but all the flavors of the oranges, almonds, red peppers and spring mix blended nicely with the lean chicken breast. I wish I received the dressing to mix with it but didn't notice until I got home.

Had lunch here yesterday. The service was good and the restaurant was clean. The clam chowder was excellent and served hot. I ordered a French dip sandwich. There was practically no meat on the sandwich. Basically a lot of starch (roll) with almost no protein. Very disappointing.

This place is great, the salads, bread, soups, sandwiches, well all of it. This is our go to stop for a good, faster, and healthier option.

I drive from Reno to Roseville about every three months to stock up on the BEST sourdough bread! We usually have lunch too. Today we had the combo with salad and bread bowl clam chowder. Both were excellent!

Great food at good prices staff is always friendly and helpful. Monthly bread reward is also a great thing.

I love the clam chowder in a bread bowl. My son recently tried the boudin burger and told me it was of the best in the area. Always a great spot!

Came in yesterday 11-13-24 at 5:00 pm with my family just the four of us, and we ordered we were given a number, and we sat and wait patiently, but five minutes of waiting to turn into 1010 minutes of waiting turned into 15 and 15 turned into 20 and finally after 30 minutes of waiting we noticed that the restaurant was catering to online online takeout orders, their in-house dining customers. We literally watched DoorDash, and all other pick ups come through - get their food - and leave, with an entire restaurant full of people who are dining in just sitting around twiddling their thumbs wondering what the heck going on.? A lady who came in two people behind us finally got up and asked where her food was, and they brought her food later. Once we did get our food, my son's pizza from the kids meal was cold and served cold to him, my father's burger that he ordered was also cold and my soup and my mother soup was perfect, however, the amount of time 30 minutes plus to get our food having it served cold was ridiculous. Now my father is 75 years old. He's very set in his ways, I wanted to talk to the manager, but he did point out that there's absolutely no point in talking to the manager, to write a review and just know that we're never coming back to this location. However, I am going to be making a phone call this afternoon around regular business hours to talk to a manager this morning because yesterday was just ridiculous. Don't get me wrong. The clam chowder is fabulous! On a cold rainy day like yesterday it was an idea, family outing, we just weren't expecting to sit down for 30 minutes, especially at a place like boudin.!!?? Yeah, we won't be coming back to this location.

Ordered the chili in a bread bowl. It was good but beans were under cooked. The chicken salad sandwich was also good, but could have had more mayonaise to hold it together. I was shocked to find out the free bread each month has changed. Now you have to make regular purchases each month in order to get the bread. There were at least a half dozen dirty tables and the staff made no effort to clean them. Customers were cleaning tables in order to sit down, and the staff was not that busy.

Online response leads to nothing. Much like many other customers a month later and not a word from managment on the order. Booooodin in Roseville simply does not care.

Nothing special, sadly. We look forward to Boudin SF when we are in NorCal, but this visit made me want to not make it a priority. Greeting was meh, tables were dirty, crab Mac n cheese was lukewarm, crab Louie salad was missing dressing. All employees seemed uniformed and had to check with the manager. Food preparers hid from view chatting where front employees could not get their attention. There was just a vibe of we take care of our immediate area but don't care/are not aware of the entire restaurant's needs.

I was craving a French dip sando and Boudin SF popped into my head. I had the French Dip Deluxe. It comes with thinly sliced roast beef, provolone, caramelized onions and horseradish mayo on a garlic butter toasted sourdough baguette. Served with Au Jus. I have to say the bread is what separates this place from other sandwich spots. Perfect chew and just delightful. It was a really good sando. I would so go there again. It may have maid my lunch rotation. Try it now!!

Just had the chicken parm sandwich and fries, and my mom had the butternut squash soup. Through delivery. All tasted funny and not fresh. Used to love boudin. Our whole meal was inedible.

Had the soup in a bowl... it was yummy with clam chowder. And I saw the most amazingly large sour dough breads... 3.5' x 1.5'... wow, I gotta get one on those!

I have been coming here for the past ten years. So sad to see the downfall of this company. I got their snickerdoodle is not even a snickerdoodle anymore. I also got their chili and it was just all beans and no flavor. In total I spend 15 bucks on both of these items just to not even eat them. I had half of my chili and threw the snickerdoodle away. The service has also declined, they forgot to bring my snickerdoodle, forgot to bring spoons, butter, knifes, and napkins. I don't know if it's the workers fault or the company's fault for the poor quality of food and service. But something needs to change. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND COMING HERE until they fix their restaurant.

Ordered the family meal sandwiches with soup and 2 cookies. The bread tasted old and the clam chowder was really salty. On top of that they forgot to put in the cookies that come with the order. Will I come here again? No

Many of their offerings are unusual and can't be found at other fast food or sandwich shops. The bread always tastes great. Atmosphere is OK. Prices are about average. I wish they would speed up the service at the front desk.

I came in 4 days ago during the evening. I have to say, I was extremely impressed with everything I experienced that night. The young gentleman at the cash register was nothing but pleasant. He took my order quickly and provided good service. I ordered a grilled cheese with bacon, a side of greens, and a side of broccoli cheddar soup. My wife got the new Florentine Steak Sandwich, a side of chips, and a side of Rustic Tomato soup. Our food came out quickly. My sides of soup were the first to arrive, followed shortly by the rest of our order. The manager was making rounds throughout the entire restaurant and was extremely friendly to me and my wife. He asked us how our food was, took our dirty dishes, and asked if we needed any boxes. Furthermore, I overheard a situation where another customer came in and they were out of a particular soup. The manager offered an alternative, gave him extra dinner rolls, and a long loaf for the inconvenience. I had to ask for the manager's name, which is Riley, and I had to write this review to compliment not only him but the entire staff for their fast and friendly service. To top it off, the whole restaurant was spotless when we arrived! We will be coming back much more often from now on!

This place is amazing! I got a pick two, half soup half sandwich. I also added a bread bowl for an extra $1. The parm and sourdough pieces that go on top of the soup were the perfect toppings. The sandwich was cooked perfectly and everything was still hot when delivered.

Have visited Boudin over the past few years and always had a pleasant experience. Staff are great, when bringing our meals they always check to see if anything else is needed before leaving the table. Food comes out pretty quickly and never any issues. Menu has lots of options for all types of tastebuds and children, Veggie or Meat eaters. Located in a lovely area of Roseville with a family friendly vibe. Restaurant is quite large with an outdoor area including fans/heaters depending on weather conditions. Absolutely recommend it! Finally and most important Chocolate Chip Cookies are Yummy!

What happened to your clam chowder? Almost no clam taste although there were plenty of clams. For the first time in decades, I didn't finish my serving as it wasn't worth the calories. Very disappointed to see a long-time favorite lose their signature dish.

We used to LOVE everything here but it seems as though quality has taken a turn for the worse. Not as quality as it used to be. I have no clue what they've officially changed but the quality is no longer there. Employees are nice enough (some aren't very personable but not unfriendly), just downhill in various areas and we were so bummed to take this off our list of faves.

Parking can be hard at times but if you don't mind a small walk than the back lot isn't too bad. Their bread is one of our favorites and you can't beat their different options for food pizza, sandwiches. If you join the rewards program you get a free loaf every month.

Love that they have butternut squash soup in the middle of the summer (usual a fall seasonal soup). It was delicious - garnished with cranberries and walnuts. It came with a side of a dinner roll. Light and filling, I'll be back for this one!

I ordered a tomato soup bread bowl and received tomato soup and a tiny little roll. When I asked for an additional roll, since they were out of bread bowls, I was rudely told that the cost was the same, however the portion size was not nearly the same. Disappointed that the online order was even allowed since I would have ordered something else had I known. (most companies do not allow you to order something, when the item is out of stock. they don't sub willy nilly! )

The seasonal crab salad was pretty yummy! I liked that it had avocado and lemon with it. The service was super fast and friendly

Overall pretty decent. The food quality was about 4/5 stars, but cleanliness of restaurant and bathrooms was about 3/5 stars. Service around 3.5 to 4 stars. I don't think I'd order the veggie sandwich again, but it was okay. I didn't try anything else out but many items looked delicious. Their bread is fresh and without preservatives, so I'm told.

I don't understand what is happening at Boudin's. It used to be our favorite bread bakery. However, over the last month or two the sourdough bread has been overcooked. The crust is way too dark brown and the inside is VERY dry. It's so dry you can't even make a decent slice of toast...way too crispy/crunchy...tears up your gums; not to mention no flavor. At first we thought it was just a bad batch or two, but it's gone on now for quite awhile. They can't think this is good. We loved coming here..the wonderful bread..the food was so good, and the little restaurant was cozy on a rainy day. The wait staff were so friendly. Things have changed and not for the better. We are so sorry to see a favorite place decline.

I just picked up the family meal for 2, soup and sandwich. I ordered a turkey cranberry and said 3 times "no red onion ". Red onion was on the sandwich! The soup was supposed to come with bread bowls. Got home, emptied the bag and no bread bowls! Sadly Boudin has gone downhill. It used to be good and the service was consistent.

This boudin has gone downhill. I'd say that I used to order and love their clam chowder but after eating it the past 2 visits, the soup had been watery.

OMG I don't know what took me so long to get back here after Covid... Had not been here for probably four years, at least... My friend from Oklahoma came to visit and she wanted to go there with another friend so met up with them. Prices are great... (helped I had gift cards from a previous Christmas we had gotten)To be able to get a salad and half sandwich for under 14 is remarkable for now and for it to be so good, that was the best bque chicken salad ever. And then we ended up going back a few days later, and my friend had had the crab salad first time so I had that and that was fantastic too and for less than 17. Also bought a loaf of their cinnamon raisin bread... It was gone in two days. I just went the other day again I just got the food to go. The person at the counter has always been the same me and she is so nice I don't know where my receipt is to get her name but very nice all three times I've been there... Love that they have the outside patio also. We sat there the first time and the second time it was too hot.

Takeout [COVID-19 Edition] I'm glad to see Boudin open offering takeout or delivery while coping with the COVID-19 crisis. I ordered online and in 20 mins I was able to pick up lunch. They have a temporary modified schedule from 11:00a to 6:00p. Since shops were closed at The Fountains parking was plentiful when I arrived. I stood in line with two customers ahead of me to check-in for my order but when one of the employees went outside to hand over other people's orders I asked her if I needed to stand in line just to pick up. She went inside and grabbed my bag of food and I was on my way back to work. The employee wore her mask as she dealt with me and other customers. That was fast! I normally get the BLTA but this time I tried the Chicken Salad Sandwich (all natural chicken breast, celery, scallion, sliced almonds, red grapes, lettuce, Dijon, mayo, and sliced sourdough). omg! so delicious! I enjoyed every bite of my sandwich... even the crust of the bread! I had braces for a year and I couldn't bite on that sourdough bread crust. Why are the crust on sourdough breads so hard? Oops!
