Their clam chowder with sour dough bread was so nice. It was such a comfort to eat the soup on a cold day. The roast beef and sauteed onion sandwich was very flavourful as well. The staff was nice and friendly.

This place never disappoints. My main reason for going is the clam chowder in a bread bowl, but when I venture to try other things, they are always delicious. I particularly enjoy the French dip they offer. You really can’t go wrong with any of the sandwiches or salads. The interior is inviting with plentiful seating options both inside and out on a patio. The patio is against a pretty noisy parking lot, though. Restrooms are locked with a code, so you’ll have to ask someone for it.

I'm so confused why this place has good reviews, bc my bread was sooooo hard. Your teeth is gonna fall off eating it. All of our sandwich breads were hard. All I could say was the soup was yummy but the bread is a confusing situation. The salad is ok.

This is the place which has the best chowder bread bowl. And you don't have to drive to San Francisco. So satisfying.

Hit or miss these days. Good food for breakfast and lunch. Stick to the chowder and salads. Great loyalty / rewards program. Have had quality issues with order being correct. New sandwiches are dry, over priced, just blah. ****update ****3.20.2023. They got rid of the previous sandwiches and have this new Mediterranean Menu, which is awesome! The Gyro looks like the picture, was made with plenty of filling and absolutely delicious.

Went there today to pick up lunch and bring it home. My husband wanted a side salad with his sandwich and this is what he got. That isn’t even a handful of lettuce, and the greens are rusty in places. One of the tomatoes appeared to be withered. I understand today they were busy, but this is unacceptable. I wish I had seen this before I left because I would have asked for it to me remade.

Expected corporate food, but pleasantly surprised. Sourdough round has a good tang and substance. Pizza sauce is very tasty. Almond croissant is flaky and the marzipan is flavorful. Wife loved her soup and salad and daughter enjoyed her Impossible burger.

First time here and buddy was saying the clamp chowder bread bowl was the best but I opted for the Boudin burger with avocado. The burger was good but the star was the fresh bun that made this burger great! The softness of the bread along with the crunchy crust made it that much better. The avocado amount was kinda slim for the $1.75 add on price. Probably will skip out on that next time. All in all it was a great lunch spot! I will definitely have to try out the bowls next time I go.

Our decision to come here was a great one. So as we walked in we were greeted Nevaeh L name was on my receipt. (Not sure if it's his name) Anyways he was so resourceful with all my questions. Super cool to stop and give me his time rather than brush me off. So at that point whatever he was selling I buying. So we ordered the Florentine steak sandwich with a salad. Next up pizza bruschetta. He asked if I was a member I said no he said I should sign up there's many benefits from even a free loaf of bread!! I said where do I sign. It's free too. So let's start with the sandwich the steak was perfect slightly medium. The caramelized onions an peppers were perfect. The cheese I think was mozzarella but texture of burratta overall Amazing! The arugula I think was great combo for the sandwich. The last but not least the bread had a slight toast crust to it but yet soft for eating. The first bite made me feel that this was a place I was meant to eat at. It came with a seasonal green leaf salad with croutons. The dressing was balsamic a bit over dressed but it was bearable. I didn't mind the tart from the balsamic. Next was the pizza it had a tart sauce with cheese and cherry seasonal tomatoes with finely julienned fresh basil. The crust was nicely toasted with a little rim so the pizza toppings stayed in. Temperature was perfect. They also have Peet's coffee. So I made an iced coffee. Delish. Before I left I had to get a loaf of sourdough and also walked out with a mini loaf as well. I was so Thankful that he was out server. Thanks Boudins SF.

Overall rating 7.5/10 The clam bread bowls were good ! Portion for the soup was small and the bread was tougher than usual, I wished they warmed up the bread bowl as well but still pretty good. The Cobb salad with balsamic was a little overdressed with dressing, so be sure to ask for it on the side! +10 points for this bread animal!! Updated from 3 stars to 4 stars! I appreciate the reply from the owner, very kind and professional, therefore 4 stars from me :) will be returning!!

For takeout on Thursday, March 14, 2024. I received an offer from Boudin through my business email for 20% off a takeout order which would allow me and my family to try the 100% Dungeness crab meals of the Crab Louie salad, open-faced Dungeness crab melt, and crab & corn chowder. We would be in between doctor appointments and I planned to pick up the food after the first appointment. I placed the order online for pickup at 11:00 a.m. Two family members like being able to choose two items for a combo. One had broccoli cheddar soup and a half sourdough patty melt; the other, a half turkey avocado sandwich and half Crab Louie salad. We also ordered a crab and corn chowder with the bread bowl and the open-faced crab melt with mixed greens. For dessert, we ordered a lemon bar, a raspberry chocolate bar, a fudgy brownie, and a semi-sweet chocolate chip cookie. The caramel lover had to have a small sea salt toffee caramel milkshake to go with her sourdough patty melt. We also got our bread for the week with the sourdough lunch box. It was quiet when we entered the restaurant an hour after opening. There was one other person waiting for his order. I went up to the mobile app order counter and a lady helped find my takeout order. Another young woman got right to work on making the milkshake. The takeout order was packaged very neatly and compactly. It was a high wind day so I enjoyed the crab and corn chowder in the bread bowl the most. The mixed greens was the right choice with the open-faced crab melt which is rich and had a little too much pepper for me. The other people started enjoying their lunch before I could take photos of their food. The sourdough bread is fresh. I don't normally eat the ends but because the bread is fresh I ate an end piece. Our repeat orders here are the different soup and the turkey avocado sandwich.

Came in here and said "can i get a clam chowder" the cashier rudely says "no" i thought he was kidding. So i said "are you serious?" He said "yes, we're out" then he says "wait a minute" he then goes and checks, and said "nevermind we have it". So rude

Husband came by to pick up some sourdough bread, in the large loaf and the tiny sizes. Both were good and perfect for our new balsamic vinegar and olive oil we purchased.

Very disappointed in the quality and food safety at this location. Ordered a BLTA combo for pickup. When I got home I could not eat the sandwich. The avocado was spoiled and black and the other produce looked spoiled. Will not be returning.

Came for the famous Sourdough Chowder Bread bowl. Nothing impressive in my opinion. We enjoyed how you can watch them making the Sourdough through the window! However, I'd only get the bread to go next time

This is my second time here, and I just want to say this is a must when I'm in the area. So far, what my family and I have tried has been delicious! The menu selection is great. You can get a burger, a salad, or even a pizza! (Even have a beyond burger for vegetarians). I just had a bread bowl-broccoli cheddar soup and it was fantastic! The staff here is always friendly. Looking forward to going back. Just want to say the OC is spoiled since there are no locations in LA, San Bernardino or Riverside counties. But, multiple stores in OC... come on?! Pro tip: Load the APP and sign up. Boudin gives you a free sourdough loaf every month. Another reason to come back!

I get the sourdough chili bowl and it's delicious. Ever hear of the saying "eat everything on your plate..." Literally. I like the store and always smells good. I placed an order online for pick-up and sad to say that customer service was dismissive. I waited 15 minutes for someone to hand me my order that was on the counter.

Do not come here!!! What the Hell happened to this place? 1. No spoons 2. Out of bread bowls 3. No bread for sell 4. The kiosk does not send staff the complete order 5. Our order was brought to us (a party of 5) 15 minutes apart No Manager in sight 6. Very unhappy guests WE WILL NOT BE BACK!

This place used to be so good. Portions used to be bigger, food wasn't over cooked, ingredients were fresher.... I just wanted a simple BLTA sandwich and what I got was a half-assed attempt that a 6 year old could of made better. Take a look at my pictures. To start, the sandwich is smaller than what I normally make at home. The bread was very hard. My dog gave up after trying to chew this for 10minutes. The best part is it looks like they only made one half of my sandwich. There was a ton of lettuce but it was all on one side! The bacon strips and tomatoes were bigger on the left side but I had to search around the lettuce for them. It looks like 2 people made this sandwich with the 2nd guy rushing though it because he had to go to the bathroom. The pathetic right side had very small pieces of tomato and bacon, with no lettuce. The amount of avocado was just sad and it was already turning brown. I basically had to remake this sandwich myself and I was regretting eating it with every bite. I don't know how this place survives. I wish they would bring back restaurant grades. Boudin would get an "F". "F" for they "forgot" how to make a simple sandwich. Panera and Corner Bakery murders this place in all aspects of food service. Luckily, they aren't too far away.

The corn chowder, cioppino, and sourdough were all out of this world. We ate in the private dining room upstairs for an event of about 35 people - it was great with an excellent view and fantastic service.

I love there food and the ambiance of it. And the service is great to. I can't forget how festive they get around Halloween,Christmas, or even thanksgiving

Ordered online thru Grubhub. That part went okay. The actual food was not. Ordered child's grilled cheese (see picture), and it was so dry and hard child couldn't even bite into it. Then, I ordered the child's tomato soup, which was supposed to come with sourdough bread. It didn't and was also cold. Also, I ordered a side of fruit for them to share. It's TINY (see picture). For $4.25, it was the size of a small scoop of ice cream. They each got maybe 5 pieces. Both meals came with water which was awesome (cold 23.7 oz. Crystal Geyser) and a choice of cookie.

What I might order again: -chocolate chip cookie, butternut squash soup, sourdough toast What I will never order again: clam chowder is mediocre, patty melt had the best grilled sourdough but the patty was extremely overcooked and flavorless, side salad was frozen and inedible Overall: some decent food items, hit or miss, not cheap so the misses are very disappointing

This is my absolutely favorite treat! After visiting San Francisco and eating at Boudin daily, I was looking for a place to get my Boudin fix but unfortunately we do not have anything that compares back home in Las Vegas. Luckily, we visit Anaheim often and this is just what I need! Just like the ones in San Fran, delicious soups, sandwiches, and sourdough bread. I always grab a can of soup to take back home with me. Pricy, but amazing!

i decided to spend the day with my girls at boudin, i didn't know i was walking into such a mistake. FIRST OF ALL, i ordered a meal with soup. they forgot my bread roll, drink, and snickerdoodle cookie. constantly walked away after i made one request leading to several trips for them to grab our items. we were met with hostility. my girls experience wasn't any better, same situation of missing items. very disappointing. the food is subpar for the price. my snicker doodle cookie was rock solid (video included). do not recommend coming here unless you want to waste money and get met with rude employees.

Wow! It's sad that one of my favorite places is going down hill. We were the only ones in line and it took 15+ minutes for someone to take our order. There register isn't printing receipts (ok I don't need one). Sitting waiting for our food, I see it under a heat lamp and it's been sitting there for 20 minutes. It took them 40 minutes from ordering to bring our food out to us. We ordered the French dip with salad and a small broccoli cheddar soup. Our soup was Luke warm at best. The poor woman working was getting no help from other staff. Management really needs to step up there game.

We ordered our favorite lunch online around 2:40pm on Tuesday June 4, and it was to be available for pickup at 2:50pm. We really like the Boudin Burger with a side Caesar salad, a dark chocolate shake, the Asian chicken salad which is always very fresh, and a "half" combination of half tuna sandwich and a small soup (today was the tomato but the butternut squash is good too). The food was good, but the two people working at that time were apparently not enough staff because the food wasn't ready - in fact we had to wait 20 minutes. A man who was also trying to clean and buss tables bagged our food once it was ready, but by the time we got home one of our family had to leave for an appointment and barely had time to wolf down the sandwich and never had time later to eat the soup. I know ordering lunch at 2:40pm on a Tuesday is not normal lunch time, but the online confirmation shouldn't have told us it wouldn't be ready until later. Otherwise if you like fresh, tasty food, this place is good. We've always had good experiences when we are able to eat there so give them a try.

Bread is phenomenal here! My kids get so excited to come here and pick out our weekly bread. They especially love the little turtles and holiday bread shapes. I don't love their clam chowder though it has a weird smoky bacon flavor that takes over the whole chowder.

First the food was good, now the good part we were setting in a booth The sun was really getting in our eyes so I ask this young girl If she could lower the shad and here reply was not now because Shes going on break so I went over myself and lowered the shade In took maybe 10 second, so I told the manger about it he could care less Well I guess I will not be coming back

Fool me once, shame on you... Ordered a (very small) patty melt and added a side order of clam chowder for $5.50 extra. The clam chowder was tiny. I've had condiment cups from other places that were bigger. I ordered through Door Dash. If I'd ordered at the restaurant I'd have sent it back. Ridiculous. NEVER again.

I love their COVID setup here. This Boudin location has their COVID safe setup down pat. There's one door where you take at most two steps in to place your order. Then you exit and wait outside and at the other door at the end of the restaurant is where you pick up your order. On that end, they just hand you your bag while you stay outside. So far I have only ordered bread here and they hand that to me right away after I order and pay. For all orders that require kitchen prep, then you pick that up at the second door. They have a cashier plexiglass shield up, contactless credit card payment option and hand sanitizer right next to the entrance. My sourdough loaf quality was consistent with what I've always gotten from Boudin. Tangy, chewy, with a resistent shell crust on the outside that has hard crispness that I love. Goes perfect with my breakfast bacon and eggs!

I seriously crave the butternut squash from Boudin. It is so yummy. I love to do the half sandwich and soup combo. Perfect amount of food. I get the grilled cheese with brie and add turkey. So good! The to go process has been pretty smooth during the pandemic and they are operating safely.

I absolutely love Boudin SF but this location is dirty.. my daughter and I came in a Sunday and not busy at all but all the tables (I mean ALL) were dirty with employees plates and the floors will not swept with plastic cups and napkins.. remind you there are 2 tables with other customers at this time.. everyone is crazy slow.. don't recommend.. try another location

I picked up dinner for me and my mom from here on Feb 16, 2022. The food was fantastic and very tasty. My mom had the half tuna melt and half a Cobb sandwich and for $11.59 it was an incredible value. I purchased a standard French dip and a clam chowder bread bowl. This is where my issues with the restaurant come into play. These are the issues I had with my order: 1. The order was not packed properly and spilled in my car. I also drive for Uber Eats and I can tell you this restaurant packages to go orders for Uber Eats much better than they do if your just a customer. I've never had one spill when driving for Uber. Be very careful when you put your to go order in your car. 2. The clam chowder did not come in a bread bowl rather in a cup. I specifically wanted the bread. It also didn't have parsley. When you order on line you have to select that you do not want parsley or a bread bowl. As you can see from my receipt, no such request was made. 3. The pricing structure. As I said, Mom's order was a tremendous value. However, I ordered a standard French Dip. It cost $11.59. It comes with chips. I chose not to get the chips but no discount on the sandwich. Shouldn't it cost less if I get less than what it comes with? Same with the Clam Chowder, it is priced as a bread bowl. Since they gave it to me as a cup, shouldn't that be less expensive? I will continue to eat here but I will do a better job of checking my order before I leave the restaurant. I recommend you do the same.

First time here after Hearing much about them in San Francisco. Regrettably the chowder bowl was cold and watery . Bread was also cold too . The staff were polite and the place looked clean. However the tables weren't getting clear after the customers . Don't know , Maybe I wasn't there at the best time . ( I stopped there one hour and half before closing).

Cold nights call for Boudin. I ordered Boudin both Friday night and Saturday night this weekend, it's the perfect time for bread bowl clam chowder. Boudin's is consistent, they've added different items to their menu such as cheeseburgers and different grilled cheese sandwiches. My perfect cold night pair is the chose two; Grilled Brie, Havarti, with apples and Fig Jam grilled cheese sandwich prepared on Parmesan-crusted seeds & grains bread. It's so good! The bread has the perfect crispy edges! You can't go wrong with their clam chowder bread bowl, my only gripe with their bread is the overwhelming baking soda taste to it. I can never finish all of it because of that. With their loyalty program, you get a free sliced loaf of sour dough bread per month. Great customer service, order inside then wait in your car and they bring it out.

Doordashed a pizza and wasn't expecting too much as this is not a pizza shop. Typically I'll do a salad or sandwhich here. But holy moly. This was one of the worst pizzas I've ever had. My jaw is aching from eating it because it was so stale...I don't usually give bad reviews, but definitely needed to warn others about the pizza. 2 stars because my friend ordered the butternut squash soup and liked it. If this wasn't my first meal of the day and I wasn't starving, this would have gone straight in the trash. The flavor was not bad but it cannot makeup for my sore jaw. I feel like I have lock jaw lol.

Seeing Boudin SF's wifi is public (with email), I connected & noticed their Loyalty Rewards program. Members receive credit for a free loaf of bread every month & a free sweet treat during their birthday month. Unfortunately being a week after my birthday, the free sweet treat will have to wait till next year. However, of course I'd happily take a free loaf of bread! Cinnamon raisin bead- Enriched wheat flour, malted barley flour, water, raisins, sugar, butter, yeast, cinnamon, salt, ascorbic acid. Simple, natural, baked fresh everyday - that's what I look for. Nowhere near the ridiculous amount of ingredients in Wonder bread. The bread was sweet, thick & delicious, by itself or with a slathering of cream cheese. Service was good. Being the first customer, I was virtually in & out. Ample seating, with al fresco tables available. Boudin SF is located at the Five Point Center, on the left of Zankou & across from Panda Express. Something special always comes out of the ovens at Boudin SF. Their baked fresh everyday bread, made natural in the traditional way, is worthy of cheating on your daily carb count. The perk of having a free monthly loaf is a fantastic enticement for me to make repeat visits, if I happen to be around. I look forward to exploring their lunch & dinner entrees, in addition to more of their baked goods.

Tremendously disappointed. I placed an order online five days before the scheduled pickup for two loaves of their holiday bread (uncut) and brioche rolls. I get there and there is one loaf, but sliced. And there is sourdough instead of brioche. They said they could give me another loaf of sliced holiday bread which I didn't want. And they said they didn't get enough brioche, so I took a refund. I did get a regular sourdough but could have gotten it for less than half at the supermarket. I made a special trip for their holiday bread. I used to get it when I lived I. he and it was amazing. The sliced holiday bread I got pales in comparison. Sorry but never going back! There's a reason you pre-order so you can get it right but this place seems clueless.

horrible $35 for two mediocre meals with bugs in the food. absolutely disgusting save your money

Zero stars for me . Purchased the clam chowder bread bowl at this location and it was so gross! The bread was cold ..the clam chowder was by far the worse clam chowder I have ever had . I will not be returning to boudin again.

Food here is absolutely delicious. The employees not so friendly. I also noticed that the place isn't that clean. The tables,floors and the waiting area have lots of food crumbs that could be easily wiped and swept. And I went there when they opened. But like I said, I do love their sandwiches.

Food was great as always, the staff was horrible. Not only did they all lack personality but they brought no silverware when bringing Food to the table. I asked twice for butter, knife and fork. I was brought one fork and one butter. The server kid was lacking brain cells and knew NOTHING about the menu when asked about a large pizza that was not on the menu. Another cashier also knew nothing of the menu, it was as if the staff was brought in untrained and clueless. Great place to eat, great name behind the establishment with amazing food but staff was horrid. I won't be going back to this location. Complete laziness at its finest.

Great place, great food and the staff that is there work vary hard. But they are super understaffed. Sometimes we has guest in a restaurant have to be a little more understanding to though who are serving us. It's not they're fault that it seams very difficult to find more staff. Keep up the hard work I appreciate your efforts.

Definitely never returning. From the second I walked in I read sign online orders pick to your right. So I asked Jackie "Do I order here" She pointed to her right my left then I realized may be not other girl sent me back to the line. I ordered clam Chowder, it's was luke Warm and in my opinion not worth the $10 dollars. I like my food HOT.

The clam chowder was jello like & gross. The place is dusty & not kept clean. The employees are very dry & no personality or smile. Will not be coming back to this location. I'm not sure how to contact management. Please call me at (714) 624-6602.

Delicious warm clam chowder and chili bowls perfect for a cold day in San Francisco. Just walking along the street and seeing the various breads displayed at the window is a sight you want to see. A must check out if you are ever out there.

I love Boudin, the bread is awesome! Since I was raised in the Bay Area this is the only authentic SF sourdough bread I can find! I also got the tuna melt today which was great! I wanted to mention the clerk/server Haley who is absolutely the best employee and should get a raise. She is efficient, friendly, and informative. I have had many interactions with the clerks here for the past ten years and while they have all been good she is by far the best!!

Always great clam chowder in a bread bowl and tuna melt...Soo tasty and cheesey!! Will definitely come back for more.
