Boudreaux's Cajun Kitchen

First time here and it was great. The only sad part about it was that with how they have it set up reminded me of Portillo's... 😢 Great food, plenty of seating (though I went here around noon,) and the menu has some great options for someone who doesn't have this kind of food often. I normally stick to pasta, nothing against y'all but I grew up with a grandma that was pure Italian and everything was homemade so it's kind of hard to beat that. 😆 Y'all have a great day!

The onion rings are large discs of crispy deliciousness. Fried catfish , fries and chicken wings are tasty. My cousin had the shrimp dish. The staff was courteous and efficient. It's my second trip to Houston and I had a crunchy Cajun craving.

I was so disappointed! All the entrees were so bad. I had the grilled platter, the fish was so salty I couldn’t eat it. The crab cake was the thinnest crab cake I’ve ever seen in my life and also salty. There were literally only 3 shrimp in the platter. My husband had the stuffed fish, it was so poorly presented. He didn’t even bother to eat it. He also had the seafood gumbo which he said was definitely not gumbo but it was probably the only thing we got that wasn’t completely horrible. The kids chicken tenders were so flimsy and dried out. I was so excited to try this place because of how good the food looked in the pictures. I was extremely disappointed.

Great food and awesome staff. We stopped in for a quick dinner on our way out of Houston and had the stuffed fish and the Cajun combo (catfish with shrimp etouffee, red beans and rice.) With two fountain drinks and a tip, it came out to just under $50 total. Bathrooms were clean, seating was comfortable. I really appreciate the to-go boxes being set out by the silverware. Regrettably, the only photo I took was this goofy fish on the wall near the bathrooms, but I love him so he gets put on the review.

Update 7-6-25 as always, no disappointments. Good food with good service. My favorite location and I have been to a few. Update 2-1-25 another awesome dinner. As always the service and food was amazing. Will continue to visit when I come to Houston. Always clean. Food is ways good when i visit. I usually get the stuffed fish but tried a different dish, and it was good.

I had the Pecan Orleans with dirty rice and sweet potatoes bread pudding with warm caramel sauce. Tasty and delectable. I will be back.

This is the first time I've picked up anything bad from Boudreau's over many, many years. Normally I would check before I would leave. Order pecans crusted chicken salad a short while ago for my sister and I, she's here for rodeo. I was embarrassed. Bragged about this place, the pecans, the salad. What we received were pecan pieces, hard pieces of scattered lettuce, burnt chicken. 3:45 p.m., Thurs., 3/20/25. First time this ever happened.

Food was terrible, crawfish was old and dry. This location needs to get things together. Sausage was dry and a rock. I do not recommend. Worst 80$ I sent all 2025.

I've been going there occasionally and foods have been great. Great services. About once a year, I'd host a local deaf social there. I love Cajun/Creole food. Friendly environment.

This time I tried the grilled salmon that comes with two sides. I chose mashed potatoes and broccoli/carrot medley. I always enjoy the mashed potatoes. The salmon was a good portion but cooked a little too hard. I still was able to enjoy the dish though.

Rude staff , very unprofessional. Tried to call and place an order and placed on hold. They never came back to the phone. You need to screen your staff and hire people with good customer service

It was ok. We went for the Friday the 13th $13 dollar special for 3 proteins and a side. We upgraded to catfish for $2.70. The fish was good and cleaned well. We also got the stuffed shrimp and shrimp. The stuffing in the shrimp was seasoned well but the celery could be chopped a bit more. And its also ALOT of stuffing. More like a stuffed ball and a piece of shrimp. The shrimp was butterflied and it was good. The side of onion rings they could've kept. Just mediocre. You see the seasoning on it but you don't taste it. I also got a Margarita and wouldn't recommend it either. It was sweet with no alcohol. I guess thats what you expect for $3. Everything was a bit underwhelming. I don't need really need to come back. The service was great though. Qyinisha who took our order was pleasant and Lance our server was cool. The music was a bit of old school and nice for a Friday. We got there just before 6 and it was only a few people in there. It was still pretty light outside so they didn't have lights on.

This is a order at counter and seat yourself place. It was busy and around lunch time today. We ordered and it took just over 25 minutes to pick up our food! My family each had fried shrimp, with fries and a salad. And I had the child's shrimp grilled and mashed potatoes. My food was delicious they said their's was also. I forgot pics but no complaints her !

Came here for The first time today. The customer service was excellent. The bathrooms were clean. The food.. not very flavorful. The portion sizes are pretty good though. But of course since it's just food... without flavor.. I couldn't finish my meal. A lot of sauce options were provided. I think the lack of seasoning is where the problem lies.

I just love being asked to tip the cashier for asking me what buttons to push. Then getting home to find out she hasn't even checked to see if my order is complete. Well, it wasn't and somehow I knew it wouldn't so I didn't. I guess I'm not the only disgruntled former patron, at 12:30, lunchtime a total of 6 people were eating there. What I don't get is, the fried green tomatoes are served with a roumelade, so if you don't put it in the container something should not look right. If you in the kitchen or you the cashier are going to eat that item wouldn't you ask where the dip is? Strange thing is I'm pretty sure the guy acting like the manager looked into my bag before handing it to me so so only are the employees poorly trained it seems the management lacks detail performance.

Delivery Order. Charged for a gallon of lemoade only to receive maybe 28oz. The food was just very okay. Fish was small and no flavor on the Po Boy. lemonade was cheap like from powder ($15/gallon) Red beans and rice I enjoyed as well as the bread the Po Boy came on:

Food is OK, but the portions don't match the price at all. These "plates" cost like $12 a piece. For $12 I can get a whole meal and a drink from Chick Fil A. hell, I could get like 2 craving boxes from Taco Bell. My local chinese place would never do me like this. This is crazy!

The food was good been here a few times no complaints at this location. The drinks are strong as well. Nice music playing and nice bayou feel inside. The service is ok.

I came in hungry! The place is nice and comfortable. They had nice old school music playing. When we walked to the counter we were greeted with southern style hospitality. Now I had the La Sampler. Hot , tasty, every bite was enjoyable. My Drink was a Margarita. It was just right for the moment. Last, was the Bread Pudding. Hot, sweet, good to the last drop! It's seafood, so... see the food, come eat!

The restaurant was nearly empty & extremely cold. We sat at a table large enough for our large party, the food was immediately cold, due to the fact the duct was blowing right on our table. I hadn't been to this location in years. I ordered the fish bienville, it was flavorful & the portion size was good. I definitely would not recommend this establishment, the staff was nice, but the appearance & lack luster bar are beyond ridiculous.

The food was real good I had the fish bienville everything was seasoned perfectly the sauce on the fish was a tad bit strong for me other than that perfecto. The service was A1 the cashier at the counter was very personable and the waiter was very hands on and very helpful. The ambiance was cool I loved the music it was a whole vibe to me I would definitely return to try something else on the menu.

Went there solely for fried oysters and they did not have them on the menu at all. Settled for the seafood platter which was good but was disappointed that they advertised oysters on here but don't have at the restaurant. The fried green tomatoes did not come as shown either but they were good. The food was good and the staff was very sweet,

I visited this place for dinner and ordered my food and waited an hour and went back to the counter. After waiting in line again just to find out they could not find my food. Meanwhile, I've been sitting at a table watching people that came in 30 minutes after me eating dinner. Still had to pay for everything and left without any food.

Food- The plating was nice and pretty. My salmon was a touch dry but that isn't reason enough to give 'em 4 stars. Some people prefer it but I still ate it all, well seasoned. The rice and vegetables were delicious! Delicious! Unlimited refills on the drinks Is always a plus! Took about 10 mins after we ordered to get our food during slow time. If you've ever been to fish city grill the plating and taste are very similar. Service- we dropped in at 4 pm when the 610 traffic wasn't good energy. There were 2 tables when we arrived. The young lady at the counter was sweet and patient as we debated what to get. (HBD to her btw) Ambiance- There are tvs scattered about and a sectioned bar area off to the left side of the counter. Restrooms were clean and stocked. There are video games to play if you wanted towards the right.

Quality has diminished here.... This would always be my go to for good shrimp. I honestly hadn't had it in several years and decided to get some fried shrimp & crawfish to go. To start, I was told my to-go order would be ready in 20 mins and it was not. Sauce was spilled all over my food that was supposed to be in a secure container on the side. Not too mention, the shrimp and crawfish were over cooked and bland. Guess it's just Pappas and Pappadeaux for me ya'll. I spent $50 and ended up throwing it in the trash. I'm assuming this is more of a happy hour spot these days, because the bar was hopping. So if your looking for drink come on in, but for food... head up the street.

Love love the remoulade sauce.. Shrimp and gritts are the best. I also like their fried green tomatoes

Great service. Delicious food and the margarita I ordered with casamigos was just the way I like it. This is our first time here and we'll definitely be back.

Upon entering place appeared clean, the meal was ok, shrimp was good, boudin balls were good also. Only problem was the fish tasted fishy, not a tasty fishy but like a unpleasant fishy, maybe other stuff here is good still on the fence.

I was in town for work and I wanted a nice dinner after a long day. This restaurant was close to my hotel so I figured it was worth a try. The staff was friendly and helped me make some selections from the menu. The restaurant atmosphere was nice, with some decent music playing. I took my to go order back to my hotel, it looked delicious but lacked adequate flavor. I had to add my own seasonings. This restaurant did not have great reviews, but I tried anyway and I was disappointed.

A good experience. The fried catfish portions were large and very tasty. The gumbo and cajun jambalaya pasta were good, as were the boudin balls. We all enjoyed our meals and would go there again.

I only have ever come here in the daytime but once upon a time it used to have a club like atmosphere at night. Service is always decent and the food scrumptious.

Only thing good was the drinks & the boudin balls. & not by the strength of the drink just the flavor. Chicken tenders had no sauce just ketchup, and they tasted tasted on. The food took forever to come out and was COLD. I was so excited to here and it was such a disappointment. Would not recommend.

Disgusting. Dirty hands touching food after touching money, dirty floors, dirty tables. Cashier handling food and money no gloves. A male employee came out of the kitchen and wipe the tables with his bare hands no napkins no towels just wipe the tables with his bare hands

I only wish this place was still in Dallas. The food is always great every time I eat here. Sadly thats only when I visit Houston

Terrible experience placed an online order and this is what I got. No gravy, no mash, and no toast. I called and was told they didn't put that on the box and they had plenty of mash. So I drove to the location to ask for my order to be corrected and the manager mike told me there was nothing he could do outside of me paying for a complete new order. Not the customer service I once loved from Boudreaux's!

The fried crawfish and their mashed potatoes have me in a chokehold! These are real mashed potatoes and they're so good, I will come here to just order it as a side. The ambience is good as well. Service is hit or miss.

My order was for thanksgivings the turkey was good but a little dry the gravy great the candied sweet potatoes that I played for was not there I got stuffing instead my granddaughter is vegetarian and the sweet potatoes was her turkey I can not tell you how disappointed I was it spoiled the whole dinner I had made stuffing, so your stuffing was something we did not need we had all been looking forward to this dinner so much and you spoiled it I will never get any food from you again even if a friend recommends it sorry but your servers should check orders before they spoil another dinner pamela sabo

I loved the shrimp n grits here. They did a nice lil spin on this dish that made it stand out from everybody else's. Very delicious and unique

I looove going home to Houston because we have some of the best eating & dining experiences in the country and Boudreaux's is a Houston staple! There is always a good time & good people in this laid back but festive restaurant. I've never had anything that I wasn't happy with on the menu, but a few of my personal favs are the fried green tomatoes (we finished them before I could snag a pic) and the seafood sampler. This was my first time trying the crawfish etouffee which I will definitely be back for! I wish they had a larger selection of daquari's but you can't miss with their famous hurricane! Like our neighbors in Louisiana say, Laissez les bon temps rouler! Let the good times roll, baby!!!!

Downgrading my review. So disappointed as I been coming for years. My last visit was probably spring of 2020 The quality has tanked. Besides my chicken all the food was "warm" at best. My bread I die for hardly even hot and didn't taste fresh or moist. Just very dry as if it's been sitting the whole day. The red beans and rice another site for sore eyes. Didn't even look appetIzing ... as if it got scraped from the bottom of the bowl and dropped in a bowl. So gross. Soda fountain was out of syrup for my drink. Ice tea tasted like shit. Forced myself to drink water. Man this place has gone downhill. Not the Boudreaux I remember it being. Wil never be coming back.

Decided to come here on the way to a movie nearby. We ordered a bowl of the seafood gumbo, the Orleans fish platter, a side of boudin balls, hush puppies and fries, and a $5 hurricane. We didn't realize how much food we had ordered! Everything came out fairly quickly. The staff was very friendly. Only cons were that the hurricane was average and I thought the gumbo would've had some rice at the bottom. I also added Tabasco to it for more flavor. In summary, this place is nice for a Cajun fix based on value!

Was in town for the night and wanted some good Cajun food. You can't go wrong with it. The sweet potato bread pudding was fantastic.

The menu has definitely scaled down due to COVID-19. However the flavor has not! The cashier was super helpful and friendly. The french fries were saltier than I like it, and the ketchup had more of a vinegar taste to it. The boudin balls and gumbo (wish I had extra rice with it) were perfect. Definitely prefer this place than BB's.

Great food and great atmosphere. Been here several times and will continue to. The only down side was that the prices seemed to keep going up.

I was so pleasantly surprised with Boudreaux's, the food was hot and all perfectly cooked. The staff was kind and courteous and the music was great. I do not have a single complaint about Boudreaux's!

Grilled Chicken Breast. The first time place they bring out too salty. All just tastes so much salt. The second one bring out. The chicken uncooked. I'm so disappointed. Never come back again. I used to come here before since they changed new owners. This place is horrible. The manager don't even said sorry.

I ordered food to go for a whole week. I ordered the same exact food/ meal daily and each visit by phone they did not have my order correct. I called to speak to the manager (destiny) and let her know my concerns and Destiny advised me to talk to her to place my next order and that she would make sure my next order was correct. The next day Destiny took my order. when I arrived for pick up my total was incorrect, I was charged for 2 meals, and I was given fried catfish instead of grilled fish. when the cashier brought it to Destinys attention she rolled her eyes and told me that it was my fault that I ordered the wrong meal Ie. fried catfish and 2 meals.

Boudreaux's Cajun Kitchen is a place that I would really like to truly enjoy, but I truly cannot. This is because of a simple notion of Cajun people always given big portions, but this chain restaurant does the opposite. All in all, the food is decent for almost fast food Style restaurant eating. Here you will find a variety of common Cajun Cuisines which includes gumbo, fried and grilled seafood, jambalaya and boudin to name a few choices. I ordered the stuffed fish and Orleans grilled fish items. The stuffed fish is a baked fish stuffed with homemade boudin. The fish is then topped with crawfish, spinach and mushrooms. That entire concoction is placed in a lemon cream sauce. All in all, the dish isn't that bad in regards to taste, but it is still a tiny portion. The Orleans is a fish dish that consists of pecan crusted fish topped with shrimp, crawfish, mushrooms and spinach. That concoction is placed in a cream sauce and also is placed on top of dirty rice. Once again, The Taste is not outstanding but very doable. Also, once again, the portion size was rather small. I also opted to get dessert in out of the bread pudding, pecan pie, and sweet potato bread pudding, the sweet potato bread pudding was too intriguing to not try. This truly was the best part of the meal. It felt as though I was eating a sweet potato pie with great texture. This desert was very smooth the entire time, and the sauce and pecans were an excellent addition to the dish. Overall, you will find something to like about this place. I would definitely give this place a higher rating if they would fix their price to food ratio. Come in and see if I'm just too harsh.

The food looks good and by the way everyone is smiling and having a good time the drinks must be great. This event is done in a TOP of the Class way. Only thing that would have made this better is if the Pittsburg Steelers were in the Super Bowl.

It has been about 10 years since I have pardoned a Boudreaux's. Now I got to experience it as a Houstonian! It definitely didn't disappoint. It's as delicious as I remember it being. Had a shrimp poboy and it was so good. I also had a slice of pecan pie which was okay. I'm kind of a pecan pie snob, so if it doesn't taste like my moms it's just regular pie. Lol. I'm looking forward to returning I've been craving friend catfish so that will be next!!

Counter service Cajun restaurant with casual atmosphere. 3 stars because of the food. Ordered the seafood gumbo and stuffed fish. Seafood gumbo - great dark roux, fresh ingredients and seafood, but too salty. I had to add water to it to make it less salty. Stuffed fish - baked Swai fish fillet stuffed with boudin topped with crawfish, spinach, mushrooms and a lemon cream sauce. Also, a bit too salty. Fresh quality ingredients and tasted good. Not my favorite though since the boudin had a lot of liver in it. Seems like you would need to really like eating liver to really enjoy this dish. Wish the lemon cream sauce had a bit more citrus flavor to it. Overall, the food had quality and fresh ingredients. The food would taste better if it wasn't overly salted.

this place is pretty decent. Food was okay... Granted, I had the kids meal shrimp because I wasn't that hungry but... Everyone else said that their gumbo and Po-Boys and salads were really good so that's a good sign. The atmosphere was a little somber for me... LOL... So probably won't be going back anytime soon. I did, however, like the guy at the register. Really friendly and not too too serious. that's a plus.

The food was okay. The drinks are cheap, they have specials, but they aren't that strong, even when you add a shot they don't really get to you, but the atmosphere is fun and it's a great place to go and eat and drink and just share an experience with a small or large group. I had the grilled chicken tenders and dirty rice, it was okay, not the best, but I did have a good time while I was there. The staff was nice, and the bartender is so cool. The food comes out pretty quick, the drinks come before you sit down, and even though they aren't that strong they are pretty cheap so you can sit back, enjoy a few laughs, and really enjoy the moment.
